Red watched rather helplessly as the two men fought back and forth over her freedom, every once in a while struggling uselessly against the large pirate holding her. It seemed that the stalemate would never come to an end and the longer it went on, the more certain she was that she would be on the receiving end of the captain's sword. Until Rose stepped forward. Red's eyes widened as her friend approached and she began to pull more forcefully at the arms surrounding her. "No..."
"Please," "If you release her, you have a chance. You know harming her will lead to your demise. Let my dear friend go and you and your men can leave here unharmed. I promise you,"
Rose, what are you doing? The large pirate's arm tightened around her in response of the pathetic attack Red had rained on him, so that she could now barely move at all. There was nothing she could do. No way she could protect her friend. Now she truly felt helpless as Rose stepped between the pirate captain and the mysterious man's arrow.
"Please,"
Red held her breath as the captain took in the young girl before him. She was surprised to see a measure of compassion flicker across his face. Or perhaps it was pain? But it was gone as suddenly as it had appeared.
"Have you ever heard stories of the open sea love? I'd ask if you would be keen to see it for yourself but I suspect... I know the answer."
And suddenly, she was free. At the captain's cue, the large pirate let his arms drop to his side. Not taking the moment for granted, Red cautiously stepped away and took Rose's outstretched hand. Her eyes never left the pirate captain, especially once her keen eyesight noticed the way that his hand moved to his hip.
The two fell back behind the mysterious archer, seemingly out of harm's way. But before she let herself embrace her best friend, who quite possibly had just saved her life, she inconspicuously whispered to the archer, "He has a grenade. Just there under his duster."

"Have you ever heard stories of the open sea love? I'd ask if you would be keen to see it for yourself but I suspect... I know the answer."
Her look of concern turned to confusion at the sudden change of the pirate's demeanor. She found herself smiling shyly at the generous offer. An adventure. At sea. She'd never been on a ship before. Of course, she had no idea of what all his offer implied but before she could answer, Red had reached her and grabbed her outstretched hand, moving them to behind the head archer.
She peaked around the form of the archer, still smiling out of gratitude for the release of her friend. See? People weren't as bad as she'd been led to believe.
"He has a grenade. Just there under his duster."
Surprised by this revelation, she looked from Red to the pirate again before speaking to the archer. She gently placed a hand on his arm, hoping it would give him pause in raising the bow once again. "I'm sure it is just a precaution, should you not keep your word. If you allow him the reassurance he needs by keeping your weapons lowered, he and his men will vacate as promised." The confidence with which she spoke showed she wholeheartedly believed it to be true.

Hook
"He has a grenade. Just there under his duster." That little witch! Jones knew there was something about that one that just got under his skin already! "I'm sure it is just a precaution, should you not keep your word. If you allow him the reassurance he needs by keeping your weapons lowered, he and his men will vacate as promised." And then there was that one. Truth be told he liked them both for two very different reasons. But that was neither here nor there. It was time to go.
Hook pulled the grenade from beneath his duster. It came free willingly but not the flint and steel attached to the fuse which remained fastened to his belt. The separation of the two lighting the weapon. "Smart lady, I don't care how fast you are, you can't outrun this. It's been fun but we'll be going." Killian dropped a slight bow to Rose. "Till we meet again." His men trailed off with Hook not far behind. Just before leaving their sight he tossed the grenade at them. It rolled towards his foes and the fuse puffed out... By the time it did its job the pirates where gone.

The grenade was a dud, but did the pirate know that? My men begin to cleanup the remnants of the battle while I put the arrow back in its quiver and loosen my hold on the bow. I give a slight head bow to Snow "Miss White, it would seem you have come a long way since we last met." I turn my attention to her friends "I prithee that ye hath not came to any precariousness under threat from the pirate knave? Come any friend of Miss White is a friend of thee. Ah and where art thine manners, I am Robin of Locksley and these are my merry men." I give a full bow addressing myself to Snows acquaintances.
"Come we have a camp naught but half a days walk from here, there thou may eat, rest and be tended to as a safe haven to thee. Come let us not tarry for the sooner we depart the sooner we arrive."

Rose watched the pirate in shock as the bomb came to life, a mixture of confusion added with his last words. As the bomb came at them, Rose threw her arms around Red, hugging tightly to the one person she wished to see most when her time ended. But it did not end. Rose opened her eyes and freed Red from her gripping hug. She spared a glance to the dud bomb before looking back to Red, a look of relief and a slight smile touching her lips.
"See?" she spoke quietly to Red, her faith in the goodness of people restored. "It was only an additional measure of caution. He was a man of his word."
With all the commotion and her chattering of the honesty of strangers, it took Rose a moment to realize the leader of their rescuers was addressing them.
"...where art thine manners, I am Robin of Locksley and these are my merry men."
Rose linked her arm through Red's as much for support in returning his bow with a shaky legged curtsy as for the comfort she drew from it. She gave him a grateful smile, sweeping her gaze around the camp with a nod of gratitude and acknowledgment as the men quickly spared them a glance with Robin's introduction before returning to their previous tasks.
Snow watched the two women closely and thankfully saw no reaction to Robin's reference of her as Miss White. It wasn't exactly as if she'd had time to pull Robin aside to explain her current situation with her traveling companions. She took this opportunity to drop a hint.
"Allow me to introduce my traveling companions," she said, placing herself next to the two women so as to face Robin and avert her face from them. She spoke up, addressing the whole camp. "This is Red and this is Rose," she gestured to each in turn, "and I'm Mary." She gave Robin a pointed look though her lips and voice carried a smile. "I see a couple new faces in your band of merry men," she added as explanation of introducing herself for the benefit of the two women. Robin was a shrewd man and as expected, she didn't see the slightest reaction.
"Come we have a camp naught but half a days walk from here, there thou may eat, rest and be tended to as a safe haven to thee. Come let us not tarry for the sooner we depart the sooner we arrive."
Accepting Robin's offer seemed the right choice. Rose looked at Red expectantly, waiting for her cue as to their next move in their journey.

Red glared in the direction that the treacherous pirate had gone. The grenade had been a dud but there was still little doubt in her mind that he would have not hesitated if the only weapon in his arsenal had been a live one. Rose pulled away from the bone-crushing embrace that she had on the werewolf and, of all things, smiled.
"See?" "It was only an additional measure of caution. He was a man of his word."
Red couldn't help but smile back, not because she believed for a minute that the pirate was a man of his word but because it was incredible to see how, even after this, Rose managed to keep her faith in other people. It was only when she saw Rose turn back to the hooded man that Red heard his voice.
"...art thine manners, I am Robin of Locksley and these are my merry men."
Red gratefully accepted Rose's arm, needing the comfort that it offered now, but did not join in her friend's curtsy. Instead she merely nodded at the man and his cohorts, not quite ready to take leave of her guard.
"Allow me to introduce my traveling companions,"
Mary rejoined them, seeming at ease with Robin and his men. This alone helped Red to somewhat lower her defenses. Despite the short time they had known each other, Red already trusted both Mary and her judgement. She would follow her lead.
"This is Red and this is Rose," "and I'm Mary." "I see a couple new faces in your band of merry men,"
She gave a slightly warmer smile to the men at Mary's introduction, hoping that they did realize her gratitude for their part in stopping the pirate band. 'It all could have turned out much differently.' she reminded herself. It'd be best for that pirate's well-being that he never cross her path again.
"Come we have a camp naught but half a days walk from here, there thou may eat, rest and be tended to as a safe haven to thee. Come let us not tarry for the sooner we depart the sooner we arrive."
Robin's old-fashioned language took Red by surprise. It was a way of speaking that she had only heard from some of the oldest villagers at home, and even then it was used sparingly. It was strange, seeing such a young man speak so formally. At least, she thought he was a young man. Red couldn't be sure as his face was still mostly concealed behind his hood.
Realizing that Rose was looking to her for guidance, Red smiled again at her oldest friend and began to follow Robin and Mary. It would be good for them to get some real rest, after the events of the past few days. She could hear Mary speaking to the archer as they approached, "Robin, it is good to see you. Thank you for your help back there. Those pirates took us by surprise."

The fire crackled and sparked as the obsidian clad Knight sat before it under a starry sky as the orange and amber glow reflected in his armor. The Knight who had longed for death but unable to die found the remaining ruins of an old church that had become over run with flowers as straw and hay lay damp at the bottom of the only remaining wall, to make camp for the night. The ebon chevalier sat upon a fallen pillar his abyss like eyes gazing into the fire though he could not feel its warmth, only the thirst. The sound of a branching snapping grabs his attention slowly the Knight rises as he places his iron hand on the hilt of his sword. Peering out into the night he slowly makes his way through the derelict place of worship, another snap and he quickly hastens to its location silently he waits. The world around him quietens around him while his breathing slows second after second go by each feeling like a lifetime as the armor sings out for the blood of those who dare challenge him. Through a small shrub a small bluebird emerges hopping towards his feet. As the Knight follows the bluebird to his feet he sees a flower at his foot, it was all lone far removed from any other flower of its kind. The flower was a rose with a stem that was long and defiantly stuck out of the overgrown grass while its petals were delicate and graceful coloured in the shade of his armor. Bending over he picked the rose and carried it with him back to the fire, sitting down he stared at the flower oddly drawn to it. The first beautiful thing he had held since... he couldn't remember it had been so long, time had passed him by and claimed so much from him, even his name. Twirling the flower between his fingers his thoughts swirled with lament while the pain and sorrow began to eat away at the thirst, any feeling besides the thirst was a sweet relief. Alas he had a mission and mourning lifes beauty was not it, sliding the petals into the fire before pulling them out he watched as the flame burned away at the black rose.

Aiden sat with his legs extended the familiar blondes head in his lap looking up at him, his hand brushing a stray hair off her face that had flown free from the breeze. Producing a grape from a small basket he presented it to her, she opened her mouth and he feed her the grape leading to her to chew while she scrunched her face up and gave him a cute wee smile. The sun was glistening down on them its warmth on disturbed by the cool breeze passing through.
"Wearing a smile is just your smile and boy do you wear it well..." Leaning down he kissed her bee-stung lips leaving her smiling as she previously had "If I had it my way I would dress you in nothing else."
A coy whistling begun to sound as the breeze picked up bringing darkened clouds with it dissipating the warmth and chilling their warmth to the bones. Aiden turned his head towards the oncoming storm leading by a blinding white light.
As the light died down Aiden found himself staring at a crackling fire, looking around he couldn't see anything out of place. He only ever saw her when he died, this time however he hadn't died yet got to see his own personal Valkyrie and already longed to go back and be with her.
