Tarzan's LookoutLocated a short ways from town up on a cliff. A clearing after a short walk uphill through a woodsy area and a climb up a few rocks leads to a lone tree at the cliff's edge where those daring enough swing from a rope into the water below.

***Gabriella and Michael enter from Gabriella's House***
Gabriella gave a quick look around to be sure they weren't being observed by curious onlookers before stepping into the woods at the town's edge. It wasn't exactly ideal weather so the trail to Tarzan's Lookout wasn't used too often outside of summer.
She followed the pathway created by years of townspeople making the trek, taking turns with Michael in switching between studying the map and watching their footing.
"Almost there," she said as she saw the clearing up ahead. The pathway began to turn rocky as they neared. "Watch the rocks. Find anything new?"

"Almost there,""Watch the rocks. Find anything new?"
Michael sipped from a flask which he had filled from Gabriella's stocks before they left, a good adventurer never lets the rum run dry. Michael had spent most of his time just following her occasionally studying the map while walking the man made path. The laces in his boots still weren't fasten and scratching of his sole on rock could be heard, of course he had nothing new he had been given the map back and had been staring at it to no avail if he had something he would have told her, maybe. Unless she had found something out and she was doing that thing women do where they make a male look better than they actually were and she was giving him a clue... The Rocks... Michaels eyes adverted to the rocks, they all looked the same... except that one. Picking up the small rock Michael began to examine it turning it this way and that, the rock was of a light beige colour and appeared to be covered in tiny black dots but appeared to be a simple rock with no significance. Slowly he lifted the rock to his face and gave it a few quick sniffs and it smelled exactly how he imagined a rock to smell next Michael slid his tongue out of his mouth and licked around the circumference of the rock causing his eyes to squint and his face to scrunch up, that too tasted as he imagined rocks would taste and dropped the rock. "No, nothing new."

Gabriella glanced back in time to see him lick a rock and toss it away. She gave a short laugh of surprise before crinkling her nose.
"Well if that doesn't get a rock to talk, I don't know what will," she said with a chuckle. The nurse in her automatically added, "Another swig of that rum should kill whatever germs that rock was harboring."
Entering the clearing, Gabriella carefully climbed up the small rocky hill to the tree. She held onto the rope hanging from the tree branch and leaned forward, peering over the cliff. There was nothing that stood out to her and anything special would have surely been spotted by one of kids that frequented this cliff and the water below.
Disappointed, she straightened back up and released the rope. "Maybe there's some sort of special markings around here? Maybe something carved on the tree or chiseled into the rocks?" She looked at the tree, covered in carvings of initials. If there was some old clue left on the tree, they'd have a hell of a time finding it and there was a good chance that another carving had destroyed it.

"Well if that doesn't get a rock to talk, I don't know what will,""Another swig of that rum should kill whatever germs that rock was harboring."
That is the best kind of medical advice Michael had ever been given and was all too happy to oblige his nurse, "I'll take two and call you in the morning love." Michael then promptly downed two swigs of rum from the flask after all it would be rude not to.
"Maybe there's some sort of special markings around here? Maybe something carved on the tree or chiseled into the rocks?"
Michael looked around examining the area, it all looked relatively normal only he saw a rock, it was light beige in colour and appeared to be covered in tiny black spots and it sat and the base of what appeared to be make shift stairs one could use to easily climb the rocks for a better look down. Looking down at the ground Michael looked for the rock he had previously dropped, he did drop it he questioned himself. It wasn't gently lobbed or thrown? Maybe it rolled over there? Michael didn't know what to make of it so he took another swig of rum and walked over to the set of make shift stairs picking up the rock as he passed it. The stairs lead him up to the top of some rocks and allowed for a better view of the cliff and also gave him a chance to throw the rock away... just in case. Michael looked down and watched the waves crashing against the cliff wall. Michael then called out to Gabriella "You know how you find yourself standing on a high place with the sudden urge to jump? ...... I dont have it."

Gabriella looked away from her study of the tree to Michael and laughed. "I don't think I have that either." Hm, she thought, making her way over to where he stood.
"People don't bother coming up here that often." She looked over the ledge to the crashing waves. "The water is too shallow for diving and the shore is on the other side." She took the rock from his hand, noting it's unique appearance. "Hm, kinda pretty."
Gabriella laid down on her stomach on the cold ground and carefully scooted herself forward until her shoulders cleared the cliff's edge. The cliff seemed to go almost straight down, rocky with greenery overgrowing it. She placed the rock along the side of the cliff and let it go. She watched as it fell, bouncing off the cliff wall here and there but suddenly, it disappeared before it reached the water.
"Did you see that?" she asked excitedly. "Quickly, grab a couple more rocks and watch." She patted the ground next to her to indicate that he should join her there after he got the rocks. She kept her eyes glued to the spot where the rock had disappeared.

"Did you see that?""Quickly, grab a couple more rocks and watch."
Michael looked around and failing to see anyone else realized that she must have been talking to him and made his way down the make shift stairs and grabbed a couple more rocks. Upon his dawning realiztion that he was taking orders from someone Michael looked down at the rocks before mumbling "Not sure I like this." Although she could be wrong and may have discovered nothing. Michael made his way back up rocky stair case and placed the rocks he had collected next to her before laying down next to them. Creeping forward Michael dropped one of the rocks and waited then he watched as it disappeared just like she said causing Michael to let out a sigh "There will be no living with her after this."

Gabriella laughed, brushing the dirt from her clothes as she stood up. "What say we take an early morning cruise on your boat tomorrow, Captain?" she asked, grinning as she held out her hands in offer to help him up.

"What say we take an early morning cruise on your boat tomorrow, Captain?"
Michael stood up with a big grin spread over his face from ear to ear. Captain, Gabriella thought of him as a Captain. "Captain Michael Richards, got a ring to it that does love." Michael made his way down the rock staircase "Think when we get back to town I will need to get a really big hat." As for the early part Michael was sure she meant early afternoon. "Any ides one how we could 'occupy' ourselves till tomorrow?" Michael asked suggestively.

"Captain Michael Richards, got a ring to it that does love." "Think when we get back to town I will need to get a really big hat."
She chuckled at that image. "And an eye patch and parrot to perch on your shoulder," she added as she followed him down the rock path.
"Any ides one how we could 'occupy' ourselves till tomorrow?"
Gabriella gave a long sigh of regret. "Unfortunately, I need to check back at the shelter and put in a few hours at work. I also need to talk to my boss about taking tomorrow off. Kinda last minute but considering I'm capped out on vacation hours, he can't say no." Plus her brother was technically family so that also worked in her benefit.

"But I will most definitely take a rain check on that thinly veiled innuendo," she said with a wicked grin. She paused at the end of the trail, deciding against a quick goodbye peck. It seemed too... relationship-y for their agreed upon arrangement of no-strings-attached. "I trust the map will be in good hands," she said, pointing to the map he still held, indicating she was entrusting him to take good care of it. "I'll meet you at your boat tomorrow. Early," she added over her shoulder as she waved goodbye.

The clock, which has been stuck at 8:15 for as long as anyone can remember, began to move once again promptly at 8:15 p.m.
Several hours pass. It is now the morning after the clock has started.
A few may have noticed the clock moving last night and those close enough may have realized when it chimed the 9 p.m. hour. Others may have learned by word of mouth or not until they next arrived in town.
