Kaeden
On the station, Kaeden just stood there. The youngest kids went one way, while the older kids went another. Maybe if she didn’t move now, then she wouldn’t have to
From the direction the younger kids were going, a giant of a man spotted her. The look in his eyes said he had been searching for her. Dang it, here we go.
The man lumbered over to Kaeden and stuck out his hand. "The names Hagrid."
Kaeden just stared at his hand. It was bigger than her head...
Hagrid sighed and dropped his after a moment, "You're Kaeden Carson, no?" Without waiting for an answer, Hagrid grabbed her trunk and began walking after the kids. "Come on, keep up Carson."
Without any better plan coming to mind, Kaeden followed after Hagrid. The giant led her down a long path to boats filled with kids. They all looked at the two of them with wide eyes; some filled with excitement and others filled with fear. Hagrid directed her into the boat with the fewest kids and then climbed in after. The boat only rocked a smidge to adjust to the huge man. Once they were all settled, the boats began moving across the lake towards a castle on the other side.

Tharin
Tharin rushed onto the platform and looked around. The last of the older students were climbing into the wagons pulled by thestrals, but Hagrid and the first years were already gone. Tharin started to take off down the path Hagrid would have taken, but one of the professors directing the older kids yelled after him.
"Drake get back here! You can chat with Hagrid at the feast!"
Tharin felt like he was going to be ripped apart. He had to find Arizona soon, but the smartest place would be to watch for her under that hat. Or even grab her before she was sorted. Hagrid could handle her if she tried anything with the first years, right? Tharin kicked at the ground before forcing himself to go with the older students.
Arizona would pay for this.

Carter
*Carter and Drew arrive from the Hogwarts Express*
Drew somehow managed to force a smile onto his face, and was fooling everyone around them into thinking that he was fine. Carter knew differently, however, and he was extremely worried about his friend. Drew needed to feel safe; to be around someone who would protect him, like how Carter had been able to spend time with Justin.
Just as he was thinking that, he caught sight of Gwen and Oliver, so he decided to call out to them. "Hello, Gwen! Oliver!" Even if Carter was worried about making a fool of himself in front of the older Ravenclaws, Drew needed his sister, and right now that was more important than Carter's own feelings.

Saxon lead against a wall arms crossed shaped by shadows his rapacious eyes preying over the students the laughs and giggles echoing around him. It was coming up 20 years since the Battle of Hogwarts and since then the wizarding world had become far too safe, far too docile but this was the year it would all change, this is the year he would dine on the screams and agony of the impure. A crooked smile crossed his face as he thought about how easy it would be to just stroll out and start the cursing and hexing but alas he had a plan to stick to as they say all good things to those who wait.

Drew
They walk off the train, moving toward the carriages that will take them to Hogwarts. He just has to get in one, make it through the ride to the castle and the sorting and feast, and then this long day will be over. Oh, and avoid Gwen. The last thing he needs right now is his sister nagging at him. Right as he thinks that, he hears Carter yell out. "Hello, Gwen! Oliver!" Dread fills him as he stares at his friend.
"What are ye doin?" he asks. Only, he's too late. Gwen has already spotted them. Now this long day will be even longer. Though actually, when Gwen hears he got in a fight, it could actually be shorter, along with the rest of his life. He sighs, getting himself ready to face his sister. This is mostly likely going to be a disaster.

Oliver
**Entered from Hogwarts Express**
Oliver and Gwen descended the stairs between the third and fourth car reaching the platform as most of the crowd had dispersed. That thought worried him a little as they may have to share a carriage with someone other than just Gwen's brother Drew. He was busy trying to think of a way to redeem himself from his awkward rambling when he heard someone shouting at them. A young third year, Oliver couldn't remember his name but figured he must be a friend of Drew as the boy was standing next to him as he waved his hand over his head.
If there was any part of him that considered continuing any conversation involving Jacob, it died with the new addition to the crew. It was for the best, sometimes silence was golden. He wouldn't be able to stick his foot in his mouth again so soon. Shaking his head with a slightly amused chuckle Oliver lead the way toward the two boys. "Don't know how you avoided your sister so well mate but I am impressed." His humor faded somewhat as the older boy could see there was something bothering Drew.

The fresh air of the train station was cool on Gwen's face as she and Oliver made their way onto the platform. There was a buzz throughout the atmosphere. A hum of anticipation now that the students were one step closer to reaching their destination. Much as she still loved Muggle life- weren't much comparable to taking a day with her parents at the Yorkshire dales- she looked forward to this day all break. Hogwarts was her home, least for the next two years.
Her eyes swept across the bustling crowd, taking it in. Seemed the first years were already well on their was with Hagrid to the boats. She grinned at the thought, remembering her own first time at Hogwarts. The Great Hall's enchanted ceiling had so amazed her that she'd near fallen over a bench full of Hufflepuffs. A part of her envied the incoming first years for being able to experience that feeling again.
The older students were already moving toward the carriages. She and Oliver would have to hurry if they were to find Drew. She turned to Oliver but a voice carried over the din, "Hello Gwen! Oliver!"
She looked towards the voice, quickly spotting Carter Evans and her narky brother beside him- probably chewing his friend out for calling her attention. Gwen sighed softly. She might be a bit hard on Drew but she wished that he would realize it was only because she cared about him. Any rate, he wasn't running off and so she switched directions to approach the third years.
"Don't know how you avoided your sister so well mate but I am impressed."
'Who's side ye on, Oliver?' Gwen was about to make some comment about not encouraging him but it died on her lips as she got closer. There was something more to this and by the look on Drew's face, it was bad. Forgoing hellos, Gwen went right to her brother's side, "What's it? Summat 'appened?"
narky - sulky

Carter
"What are ye doin?" Carter looked over at Drew, only then realizing that his friend didn't want to see Gwen. Sure, he knew Drew often complained about his sister nagging him, but he'd thought that after the rough day, Drew could use some quality time with his sister. Unfortunately, it was too late to change his actions, as Oliver and Gwen were already headed over.
"Don't know how you avoided your sister so well mate but I am impressed." Oliver commented jokingly, before realizing something was wrong.
Gwen caught on at about the same time as her friend. "What's it? Summat 'appened?" Carter decided it was up to him to fix this. It was his fault that Drew had to deal with his sister in the first place, so he should be the one to explain.
"We just had a bad ride, is all. Everything has been taken care of, though. We're fine now." Well, that felt like a huge lie. Not only was the older girl still on the loose, but Drew was still shaken, and Carter was still terrified that she'd hunt him down and make him pay for defeating her. "We're fine," he repeated, more to convince himself than the older Ravenclaws.

Drew
Gwen and Oliver Burke come their way and he sighs, resigning himself to have an audience while his sister lectures him. "Don't know how you avoided your sister so well mate but I am impressed," Oliver says, surprising him a bit. Gwen has a friend who is now encouraging behavior Gwen tries to stop? Maybe having this guy here won't be so bad after all. Hopefully he'll soften Gwen up a bit.
"What's it? Summat 'appened?" Gwen asks. Of course she would catch on almost instantly to the fact that something was wrong. If she hadn't he could have maybe gotten away with only being yelled at for losing his sister on the train. Now she's going to yell at him about the fight too.
"We just had a bad ride, is all. Everything has been taken care of, though. We're fine now." He is a bit startled by Carter's statement, but he appreciates it. Carter is trying to stand by him and help him out. Only, he knows Gwen will find out sooner or later, and he also knows the lecture will be worse if he leaves it to later. He ignores Carter's repeated "We're fine" as he steps forward slightly, looking up at his big sister.
"I was a gawby and got meself in a feight," he supplies. Let the lecture commence.
gawby - fool feight - fight (I didn't misspell it, it actually is supposed to be that way.)

Donnie stepped out onto the platform raising his arms above his head in a big stretch followed by an equally exaggerated yawn only to be mimicked by Sho who was perched on his shoulder. At the station there was a little hustle and bustle from the students as they laughed and quizzed each other but for the most part Donnie found the noise around him rather unpolluated, there was no clinking of pachinko balls, no one having one way conversations with bluetooth ear pieces and absolutely no cute J-Pop stars filling in what little free air space they could and Donnie found himself missing it all. Donnie let out a long sigh as there was no turning back now for better or worse Hogwarts was now his detention center for the following year although he did have to admit there were worse places one could study. The Dok held his head high and took a deep breath in preparing himself for what lies ahead.
"I dont know about you Sho but I can't understand how they can breath this air, I mean it's just so.. so.. clean and weird smelling."
Sho the Monkey seemed to shrug and howl in agreement.

"We just had a bad ride, is all. Everything has been taken care of, though. We're fine now." "We're fine,"
Gwen cast a doubtful look at the third year Ravenclaw. He was scared of something. Whatever had happened on the train, it seemed to be something big.
"I was a gawby and got meself in a feight,"
"A feight?!" Gwen exclaimed, blurting out the words before she had a chance to stop herself. "Drew, I leave ye alone for less than an hour..." Her brain caught up with her mouth and she took in the two boys in front of her. No, this was bigger than just a fight. There was more to this. Carter looked so jumpy that any quick movement might send him for the hills and her brother- well, she'd nar seen a time when her brother seemed so shaken. Softening her voice somewhat, she looked between the boys. "Anyone be wantin' to tell me the whole story?"

Carter
"I was a gawby and got meself in a feight," Drew blurted out, and Carter was shocked by how grossly simplified his friend had made it. Sure, he’d gotten into a fight, but that was far from the first thing Gwen should know. He was pretty sure she would want to know about Drew’s near death more than his hot-headedness.
"A feight?!" "Drew, I leave ye alone for less than an hour..." Before Carter could interrupt, Gwen trailed off. She was looking back and forth between the two of them, and she must have realized that something more had happened. "Anyone be wantin' to tell me the whole story?"
Carter spoke up, knowing Drew would just find a way to over-simplify it again. “Well, we could only find one compartment that had enough room for us, but the older girl in there didn’t want us around. Drew was tired of being pushed around, so he insisted we stay. She attacked, and, um …” he paused, not entirely sure how to tell someone that their little brother had been in danger of losing his life. “Well, she put a knife at his neck. I stopped her, and then we got a prefect, and he’s looking for her. So see, everything’s taken care of, like I said.” He looked at his shoes rather than Gwen, worried she’d insist he went into more detail, and he didn’t want to talk more about Drew’s brush with death. The thought of how close he’d come to losing his friend was too much to bare, and then there was the knowledge that he was the girl’s next target. No matter how Carter tried to view the situation, it made him sick to his stomach.

Drew
"A feight?!" Gwen questions angrily, just like he knew she would. "Drew, I leave ye alone for less than an hour..." she starts before, to his surprise, trailing off. He finally gains the courage to look up at his sister. "Anyone be wantin' to tell me the whole story?" Not really. He doesn't exactly want to recount how much of an idiot he's been. Luckily, Carter steps up to the plate. He listens to his friend explain the situation and frowns when he realizes Carter kind of made it seem like Drew didn't really make that big of a blunder. He messed up big time and Carter can't just explain that away. He is about to explain further, and he can tell his sister is about to say something as well, but before she can a prefect comes up.
"Don't be late," the older kid warns, gesturing to the carriages. Drew is a bit startled to see that there are only a few left. Deciding that he'd rather Gwen get on to him in the relatively more private carriage anyways, he moves off, getting in the first empty carriage and plopping into a seat, waiting for the others to join him. It's going to be the longest carriage ride of his life.

“Well, we could only find one compartment that had enough room for us, but the older girl in there didn’t want us around. Drew was tired of being pushed around, so he insisted we stay. She attacked, and, um …” “Well, she put a knife at his neck. I stopped her, and then we got a prefect, and he’s looking for her. So see, everything’s taken care of, like I said.”
While the truth came tumbling from Carter Evan's mouth, the blood drained from Gwen's face. For once, the girl was at a complete loss for words as the torrents of emotions swirled in wild cacophony through her mind. Vivid images of her brother, of what could have happened... She stopped looking for him. She failed him again.
Unconsciously, her hand found Drew's shoulder and took hold as if the mere physical contact was enough to protect him from every harm and evil the world could throw at them. Oliver's eyes, wide as saucers since mention of the knife, met hers and it was as if she could read his thoughts, 'The worst didn't happen. He is alive and well.'
'Which is more at can be said of the girl that did it.' A hard knot of anger twisted in the pit of her belly, igniting a fire that spread through her chest. 'When I'm through, that bad'un gilt waint dassent to even look at Drew the wrong way...'
Before she had the chance to finish processing, a Hufflepuff prefect wandered over- clearly with no idea what he was interrupting. "Don't be late,"
The carriages were most gone by this point. Best to be on the way. As Drew quickly moved off to the nearest empty, Gwen took care to shadow him. That girl was still out there and Gwen would be damned if she let the ninny get another chance without being on the receiving of a good skelp.
She was the next to climb into the carriage, purposely placing herself next to Drew. The lad looked as if he was expecting her to be playin' pop the whole ride to the castle but she weren't vexed with him at all. Well, not much and what bit were there was buried far 'neath her own guilt. Putting an arm round his shoulders, she pulled him in slightly and said in a comforting, if not slightly ominous, tone, "Be reight. I've got it handled."
bad'un gilt waint dassent - no good immature female pig won't dare ninny - idiot skelp - beat blow playin' pop - telling off/get angry with vexed - angry be reight - it'll be alright

Oliver
The whole situation seemed like it was not his cup of tea. This would be a bad time to get in the middle of the two Brigham's. He wasn't about to retreat however, he would remain there to help if he could. He did pride himself on his defensive skills after all. A counter curse or two would not go amiss if the moment called for it.
He wasn't quite sure at which point he had gotten so wrapped up in thought but he missed the fact that Gwen, Drew, and Carter had all loaded themselves into the nearest carriage. Shaking himself out of his trance he hurried over, passing a few other stragglers in the process. 'The Dok' and Sho both drew a deep breath of the fresh highland air with seemingly equal distaste. That drew a smirk from Oliver as he nodded at the pair reaching his destination a moment later.
Casting one look back to see if anyone was heading his way the young Ravenclaw saw someone on the platform who was not scurrying towards the castle. He seemed a bit out of place, a local perhaps? Something didn't seem quite right about him and it didn't help that he was shrouded in shadow. Oliver couldn't see where the stranger's attention was focused but when the hair on the back of his neck stood on end he realized he had stared too long. He quickly boarded the carriage and took a seat next to Gwen on the right side.

Tharin
Tharin pulled himself into one of the last carriages without bothering to look who was on it. He hunched down and began to think of all the ways he could make Arizona pay for ruining his last return to the place he loves. Sponge-knees curse, langlock, or maybe he would just punch her. She liked a muggle reaction to a problem. Maybe he would punch her. Tharin barely registered that the carriage had started moving. Should he punch her in the gut? Or the face? What if he used her own knife on her?
Tharin shook his head clear; he wouldn't use a knife on her. That would be taking things too far. Suddenly the hairs on the back of his neck and the hairs on his arms rose in alert. Tharin spun around, wand in hand.

Carter
Carter had followed Drew into the carriage, and was sitting across from Gwen and Drew. He watched as Gwen comforted her little brother, and he really wished Justin would have done that. Instead, he'd gotten a slap on the back and told he was awesome. He knew that was just what his brother was like, but he couldn't help but want comfort too.
Oliver followed them into the carriage, sitting next to Gwen and leaving Carter alone on his side of the carriage. He looked down at his feet to avoid starting to cry. It was partly due to lack of someone to comfort him, and partly because he tended to break down whenever he was really stressed. Right now, his stress levels were through the roof, because he was sure the second she found him, he'd be a dead man.
A soft thud caused his head to jerk up, and he saw a figure in the shadows, crouched at the edge of the carriage; no doubt waiting to strike. He froze, heart pounding inside his chest. It was her, it had to be, and he needed to defend himself. Even as his hand started instinctively to reach for his wand, he realized it wasn't her. The build was wrong, and she probably would have attacked by now. He was going to stop reaching for his weapon, when the figure turned around, wand out and ready to attack them all. Carter quickly whipped his out as well, preparing to duel. That is, until he recognized the mysterious figure. It was the Slytherin prefect from earlier, the person who was hunting her down.
"Did you find her?" he asked almost immediately, feeling the need to be reassured. He lowered his weapon, and tried not to look too terrified as he awaited the older boy's response.

Drew
To his surprise Gwen sits next to him, pulling him in for a sort of half hug. "Be reight. I've got it handled." He hears the slightly dark tone in her voice and knows instantly that he’s going to be alright. Gwen is going to protect her from harm. He leans into her safe embrace but doesn’t let himself cry like he wants because he is thirteen after all. Oliver comes and sits next to his sister and he starts to wonder what exactly the nature of their relationship is. Carter takes the seat on the other side of the carriage and he suddenly realizes his friend is sitting all alone. He should do something about that. He’s about to move when someone jumps the in the carriage. His first terrifying thought is that it must be that girl who attacked them, but then he realizes it isn’t. And then there is a sudden flurry of movement and wands are drawn.
"Did you find her?" Carter asks. He relaxes as he recognizes that prefect from earlier. Seriously, you’d think a prefect would know not to be so daft as to sneak into a carriage full of students and scare them to death. Though, Drew is actually rather glad he did. Now they can find out what’s been happening in the search for the crazy girl.

Oliver
Maybe it was that lone figure still playing through his mind but he couldn't put himself at ease. Oliver was slightly annoyed by all this nonsense as he was usually really trying to enjoy these moments coming back for a brand new year. But when another figure jumped into the carriage suddenly everyone's wands were up! He wasn't the most talented duelist in the bunch but not too far behind his was in his hand as well.
At the confirmation of a prefect the young lad allowed himself to stand down. He didn't want to be reprimanded for having threatened a prefect of all people. Could never be too careful though, he was prepared to do what he could to protect his new friends. The only thing about this mess Burke was glad of. He was okay thank goodness but if Drew hadn't wandered off and gotten into trouble, he and Jacob would never have met Gwen. A fact Oliver personally was glad of, though he would keep that to himself. "You seem a bit jumpy! What's this all about?" the Ravenclaw directed at Tharin.

Any warm, fuzzy feelings Drew's rare display of affection elicited quickly vanished as Gwen caught movement out of the corner of her eye. Within seconds, the experienced duelist had her wand drawn to meet the one being pulled by their mysterious new arrival. Once her eyes had a chance to catch up with her reflexes she let out an exasperated puff of air. "Are ye daft? What were ye thinkin', pullin' a wand on a coach full of students?"
Gwen's wand stayed raised as her comrades began to lower their own. Prefect or no, she wouldn't lower her wand until Tharin did.
"Did you find her?"
Gwen had never been accused of having a calm temperament. Though she had all the patience in the world when it came to teaching others, the Ravenclaw was not very skilled at holding her tongue or her temper. Even easier it was to anger her when it came to Drew. Her face flushed as she realized that Tharin had been the prefect who handled the boys' attack and that it must have happened before their run in on the train.
"You seem a bit jumpy! What's this all about?"
"Ye knew about all this and ye didn't bother to tell me that some gawby tried to kill my brother?" Her voice rose exponentially by the end of the sentence and it took every ounce of self control she possessed not to start off the school year by turning the Slytherin prefect into some awefish reptile.

Tharin
Tharin was impressed with the speed of which the carriage's passengers pulled their wands. The two trouble making boys had joined the love birds.
Gwen Brigham gave an exasperated puff of air. "Are ye daft? What were ye thinkin', pullin' a wand on a coach full of students?" her wand arm didn't relax and her aim never waverd. Impressive.
"Did you find her?" Carter Evans blurted out. Though he tried to look brave, his true terrified feelings came through. Drew Brigham on the other hand brightened slightly at his friend's question.
"You seem a bit jumpy! What's this all about?" Burke added to the mix of voices.
Then Gwen's eyes widened as it all clicked. "Ye knew about all this and ye didn't bother to tell me that some gawby tried to kill my brother?" Her voice rose exponentially by the end of the sentence.
Tharin stayed silent, just letting it all sink in. Then he stretched and carefully placed his wand back where it belonged. Tharin took a good look at each of their faces. Gwen Brigham's face was greatly amusing as it became darker and redder with every second. Burke was like a dog; he had no clue what was going on and yet was happy anyway. Drew and Carter were a sad mix of frightened and hopeful, and were it not for them, Tharin may have stayed annoyingly silent for the entirety of the ride.
Instead, Tharin slid over to Carter and put his arm around him. He felt the boy tense up, but just gave him a slight squeeze. "The girl is with Hagrid, and you both know how big he is. Nothing and no one is going to hurt you." Tharin ruffled Carter's hair before looking at Gwen.
"As for the reason I didn't mention the incident when I found you snogging Burke here, was that I was just so flat out shocked. For three reasons really. First being that Gwen Brigham was snogging on the Hogwarts Express. The second being that Gwen Brigham was snogging Oliver Burke on the Hogwarts Express. And lastly, the third being that Gwen Brigham was snogging Oliver Burke without a care to what mischief her brother may be getting himself into on the Hogwarts Express. So you can see why I was shocked into silence on the matter. I do hope you two kept the train clean."

Drew
Drew listens to all the questions ranging from annoyed to worried until his sister breaks the trend with an angry question. "Ye knew about all this and ye didn't bother to tell me that some gawby tried to kill my brother?" She had run into the prefect? He hadn’t known that. Not that he really cares to be honest. He just wants to know what’s happened with that dangerous girl. He shifts uncomfortably as the prefect takes his time putting his wand away and staring at all of them. He starts to panic. Is the girl on the way to come kill them now? No, he wouldn’t be so relaxed. But why isn’t he saying anything?
The boy slides over to Carter and slips an arm around him, apparently to comfort him. And then he finally decides to speak. "The girl is with Hagrid, and you both know how big he is. Nothing and no one is going to hurt you." Drew lets out a breath he wasn’t even aware he was holding in as relief floods him. The girl is with a teacher. She can’t hurt them now. But them the prefect keeps talking, addressing his sister’s question.
"As for the reason I didn't mention the incident when I found you snogging Burke here, was that I was just so flat out shocked. For three reasons really. First being that Gwen Brigham was snogging on the Hogwarts Express.” His eyes widen in shock as he looks over at his big sister. Gwen snogging? Gwen never snogs anyone. “The second being that Gwen Brigham was snogging Oliver Burke on the Hogwarts Express.” Drew looks over at the boy in question, suddenly feeling very protective of his sister. How dare he kiss Gwen? As far as he knows the two of them aren’t even close. “And lastly, the third being that Gwen Brigham was snogging Oliver Burke without a care to what mischief her brother may be getting himself into on the Hogwarts Express. So you can see why I was shocked into silence on the matter. I do hope you two kept the train clean."
Drew isn’t sure what to say. Gwen kissed this gawby on the train, a public place. And she didn’t seem to care about him apparently and that is very uncharacteristic. Drew is fairly sure there are no words to express how he feels about this situation but his brain manages to latch ahold of two and two words are better than none. “Ye what?” he asks accusingly right as the carriage comes to a stop. The prefects silence must have lasted a bit longer than he thought. Not that he cares at the moment. He too busy trying to decide whether to glare accusingly at his sister or Oliver. He finally settles on Gwen, crossing his arms as he awaits her explanation. It had better be good.

Carter
Everyone, not just Carter, bombarded the prefect with questions. Apparently, Gwen and Oliver had run into him earlier, and he hadn’t told them about the trouble he and Drew had gotten into.
Tharin put his want away, but he didn’t say anything. Each silent second that past built up the suspense more and more, until Carter was almost certain the prefect would have terrible news. Then, without talking, the Slytherin walked over to him, and placed his arm around Carter’s shoulder. He tensed further, knowing the prefect must have terrible news if he felt the need to physically comfort him.
"The girl is with Hagrid, and you both know how big he is. Nothing and no one is going to hurt you." Tharin ruffled his hair, like Justin did whenever his older brother was proud of him. Carter found himself relax completely, she’d been caught, and he was safe. Relief flooded his system at the knowledge that she couldn’t hurt them anymore. At least, not for now. She’d probably still seek revenge against him later, but hopefully Carter wouldn’t have to worry about that until after the feast. Carter felt the biggest urge to hug Tharin; after all, the Slytherin had just saved them. He was about to, when the prefect continued speaking.
I do hope you two kept the train clean." Carter backed away from him ever so slightly. Did the prefect really have to talk about snogging at a time like this? Well, there was no way Carter was hugging him now.
“Ye what?” Drew questioned, obviously bugged by the idea that his sister had been kissing a boy. While Carter was still grossed out by the idea of snogging, he wasn’t oblivious to the fact that older students did it. In fact, he’d seen Justin snogging on several occasions, and while it was gross, it wasn’t really a surprise. Still, why did they have to talk about it?
Suddenly, the carriage lurched to a stop, meaning they had arrived at Hogwarts. Thank goodness Carter didn’t have to worry about running into the girl the second he stepped off the carriage. Carter was about to hop off, when he noticed Drew glaring Gwen down. Maybe he should wait to see how this scene played out.

And just that quickly her growing anger morphed into jaw dropping mortification. There were not often moments when Gwen found herself at a loss for words but this was certainly one of them as the lie they cooked up to protect Jacob came back to bite them in the arse. Her jaw worked as she tried to think of something to say, something to squash this before it became a bigger problem while not making Tharin suspicious of what had happened in the train car. But in another, ill-timed new turn for her, no answer came.
“Ye what?”
Drew's angry, somewhat disgusted voice broke through the spell holding her there. And as Drew pulled away, Gwen knew that the bigger problem had arrived. No amount of school rumor mattered when she saw the hurt, accusing glare on her brother's face. Her wand, which had still been held on the Slytherin prefect, dropped as she took all attention off of Tharin and turned to the boy beside her. "Drew- no. It's nah what ye think."
But words still failed her and above all, she still needed to keep Oliver's and Jacob's secret. So she focused on the one thing that bothered her most about the blether that had so acidly poured from Tharin's smug little cake-'ole. "Ye know that I care about ye more'in anythin'. I jes- I knew ye wanted some space an' when I couldn't find ye I realized I should let ye have it." It wasn't a lie but Gwen knew that was all the truth that she could give him, at least with that callin Slytherin in the carriage.

Tharin
Tharin just smirked as Gwen's jaw dropped and her mouth moved but no words spilled out. Burke looked petrified and was whiter than the Bloody Baron. Tharin barely noticed the expression on her brother's face or that the Evans boy had moved away from him.
A hurt and angry, “Ye what?” were the only words spoken by the time the carriage stopped. Gwen's wand clattered to the floor while her face danced between shades of red, white, and for a moment a hint of green.
She turned to her brother, ignoring Tharin now, "Drew- no. It's nah what ye think."
Tharin clenched his fists then ran his hands through his hair. He did not see this coming. Why did the kid have to be hurt by his sister snogging? Shocked maybe, but why hurt and angry? I didn't want to hurt the kid. He's been through enough today. Tharin suppressed the frustrated sigh he wanted to release. He shook his head slightly to recompose himself. "Well, please tell me what it really is later. I must be off."
Tharin jumped out of the carriage and walked quickly towards the castle. His fists clenched and unclenched as he once again thought of the pain he would induce on Arizona for causing him so much trouble on his last first day at Hogwarts.

Oliver
The young Ravenclaw sat in horror watching that wretched prefect spill his whole crooked tale to the entire carriage. He didn't know what to say. He had no idea what to do. He and Jacob had just made a new friend, someone who they knew they could trust and they were now responsible for hurting her and her brother. This wasn't what he wanted to happen. His mind raced and all manner of words popped into his head about what he wanted to say but before he could open his mouth Tharin was gone. Anger worked its way onto Oliver's face and without a word to the other passengers he jumped out of the compartment and was off.
Quickly catching up to that arrogant bogey he grabbed him with both hands and swung him around crashing him up against the back of another carriage. Making sure to lower his voice and keep to the shadows he opened up on Tharin. "You and I both know ya didn't see anything back there on the train! You better watch what you say because I don't care who made you a prefect, your just a student like the rest of us. And I swear now that you started this I can make your life just as miserable." Letting go of the Slytherin's jacket he took a step back. "You leave Gwen and Drew out of this, I'll be happy to have this one just between us. If you have the guts for it!"

Tharin
Suddenly Tharin was pulled around and slammed back against a carriage. Sudden memories of his father came over him. Slamming him against the wall of the house, yelling at him, a fist in his gut, a hand around his throat, stars twinkling behind his eyes, the tear of a blade through his skin, and his mother's almost silent tears. Then Tharin heard a voice say, "If you have the guts for it!"
That was all he needed to hear. Tharin tackled the attacker in front of him and threw a single, hard punch into his face, knocking him out. Then Tharin saw Burke laying under him. Then he noticed that Arizona's knife was opened in the hand he hadn't used to punch. When did that get there? He looked over Burke, hoping that he hadn't used the knife. After being sure there were no stab wounds or cuts, Tharin carefully pushed himself off Burke and put the knife away.
"What were you thinking?!" Tharin yelled under his breath at the unconsious Oliver Burke. Tharin ran his hands through his hair several times before moving Burke into a natural fallen position and untied one of his shoes. Tharin then pulled out his wand. "I'm sorry to do this, but I can't have anyone know that I might still lose control. You're lucky I came back quickly."
Tharin placed his wand to Burke's head and whispered a charm. Now all Oliver Burke would remember was that he tripped and fell backwards, hitting his head on another carriage, right after confronting Tharin.
Tharin kicked the ground and continued towards the castle. Arizona will never forget this night after all the trouble she's caused him.

Drew
"Drew- no. It's nah what ye think." Yeah right it’s not. How is here kissing a guy while he’s out being threatened. How could it be anything but what it appears? "Ye know that I care about ye more'in anythin'. I jes- I knew ye wanted some space an' when I couldn't find ye I realized I should let ye have it." Well, okay. It’s true that Gwen had no way of knowing what was going on and he had needed some space. He thinks on his answer as Tharin and Oliver both exit the carriage.
“But ye still kissed a boy I don know very well,” he points out, still angry. Fine, Gwen wasn’t aware he was in trouble but she stilled kissed some gawby. He’s still mad at her for that.

Carter
It was blatantly obvious that Drew and Gwen needed some time to sort everything out, so Carter jumped out of the carriage. At first, he’d thought he should stay, but after Tharin and Oliver took their leave, he figured it was probably time for him to as well. He didn’t want to get into the middle of a sibling argument; he knew first-hand how bad those could get.
The first thing he saw as his feet hit the ground was Oliver, lying unconscious on the ground. Carter instantly panicked, looking around for any signs of the girl that had attacked them, but when he didn’t see her he relaxed; slightly. He thought about calling out for Gwen and Drew, but he didn’t want to interrupt them, so he checked on Oliver himself.
It was only once he noticed the untied shoelace that he relaxed completely. The older Ravenclaw had tripped, that was all. Still, Carter didn’t know how to heal the head wound, so he’d need Gwen’s help. “Hey Gwen,” he called out, hoping she and Drew had gotten to a better place in their discussion. “Oliver tripped.” Then, he turned his attention back to the older boy, wondering why he hadn’t been paying better attention to where he was going.
