The Shrieking ShackThe dilapidated shack and its land, separated by what remains of a fence made up of stakes and barbed wire, can be found tucked away off its own path in Hogsmeade.

Jake
*Jake enters from Hogwarts Express*
Jake replaced the wooden slats that discussed his narrow entrance from anyone who dared to get close enough to the Shrieking Shack, so basically no one. Still, it never hurt to be cautious. He straitened up, brushing the dust off his knees from where he'd bent down on the floor to crawl into the building.
He headed toward his entrance; not the one that lead toward the Whomping Willow, though he had used that passage a few times. But now, he would use the tunnel that connected directly to the Room of Requirement.
He sighed though as he remembered the easy and quick journey from the train to here. Honestly, he'd been hoping for a bit more of a challenge. Well, he supposed easy meant safe, even if it also meant boring.
Jake moved aside the painting that hid the passage to Hogwarts, and started down it, wondering as always if the other kids were enjoying themselves. Even though he knew they weren't there yet, he could imagine all of the students digging into there feast, laughing and enjoying one another company after being separated over the summer. While he'd brought enough food with him to last until Oliver could replenish his supplies, he couldn't help but long to be with the others. Feasts were no fun when you had no one to share them with.

***Anya and Callum enter from Hogsmeade - Outside the Shops***
Free from the crowd on the deserted path, Anya finally released Callum's arm and took a couple steps forward. She felt thoroughly disheveled from being knocked around in the crowd and let out her frustration on a growl as she began brushing snow from her clothes.
The sound of the crowd was a murmur in the distance and she finally had the proper ambiance for a lecture. Making one last adjustment to straighten her clothes, she finally stood up straight and looked over at him, eyes narrowed. "You were-- Gah!" she paused to push her tousled hair out of her face, "You were completely rude!" She finally got out. The added frustration of the crowd and her multiple attempts to finally get that simple sentence out had her sounding a bit more harsh than she'd intended. Anya crossed her arms and put on a stern expression but a lock of her tousled hair fell right back into her face, ruining the effect. Blowing out the corner of her mouth, she was at least able to get it free of her eyes.

Not only had Callum always been good at ignoring someone giving him a lecture, might be because his father had tried so often, but also had the crowd around been making it almost impossible to talk to each other at all. That had been before she suddenly had closed the distance between them immensely by grabbing at his arm. Callum couldn't have helped but come up with a crooked smile.
As they reached a more private place with less people around, Anya was finally releasing his arm. He had liked her arms around his, to be honest.
Callum was just about to say something, when suddenly the lecture from before seemed to have caught up on him; clearly seen on her lips. Beautiful sweet lips. He forced himself to look rather annoyed than fond.
"You were-- Gah!" How could someone be so cute when being angry though? "You were completely rude!"
Callum had really tried to keep the severe look on his face, but when Anya's plan of giving him a lecture coincided with her messed up hair, he just couldn't suppress his amusement any longer. "Do you mind if Prof Unlikeable teaches you a thing or two? First of all, don't be cute while giving someone a lecture.", he said jokingly, laugh lines forming around his cheeks, before he went straight back to their planned tour. "Okay, so let's get you your very first butterbeer."

A rosy blush came into Anya's cheeks, her frustration momentarily forgotten. Callum had just called her 'cute'. She convinced herself he'd only done it to catch her off guard and rile her more, finding her amusing when she got all worked up about something. It was hard to stay upset with him when he flashed that smile at her.
He started to turn, no doubt with the intention to lead her to the place with butterbeer, but Anya ignored that part, not ready to relent. She bent down to gather snow while he started to take steps away. "Don't you walk away. I am angry with you," she exaggerated as she balled up the snow and chucked it at the center of his back. "You will show me a respectable amount of fear when I am in such a state," she added, crouching down and starting to gather more snow. Of course she wasn't serious. Not with such an audacious statement and after having lobbed a snowball at him. "Cute," she snorted, though a smile sneaked onto her face. She quickly hid it away as she got to her feet. "I'll show you cute," she said, chucking another snowball at him.

When Callum noticed that she wasn't following, he turned around again and at the same time felt something thrown at his back. A snowball.
"Don't you walk away. I am angry with you," Even if Anya was serious about this, and he knew she wasn't, at least not completely, Callum wouldn't have been able to hide his amusement. But to be fair with her, he tried at least a little bit. "You will show me a respectable amount of fear when I am in such a state," At that, Callum wasn't even able to try a little bit. How come that he'd never noticed before just how adorable Anya was? "Cute,""I'll show you cute,"
He tried to ward off a second attack but it seemed he had been too distracted by her suppressed smiling for a moment. "Nice try, but still cute as a button.", Callum lovingly mocked her before he bent down to gather some munition himself. "Try lookin' more terrifying. Like this." He made an exaggerated grimace while throwing the balled up snow into her direction.

Anya was too busy laughing at his exaggerated grimace to fully dodge the snowball he'd thrown. It caught her on the arm and she quickly stooped, hastily forming another snowball and throwing it before taking off to put distance between herself and his next attempted throw.
She ducked behind a tree and gathered more snow, forming it as she peeked from around. The rush of anticipation and the thrill of being pursued by Callum gave her an overwhelming joy that made a giggle escape her. Suddenly the face of the other girl hit her mind and reality hit her like a ton of bricks. Anya was just Callum's friend and she was letting things get passed reality far too often lately, her imagination completely wiping the other girl from existence and replacing her with herself. It didn't help that Callum had referred to her as cute, even if he was only using it as a means of poking fun at her previous attempt of being serious. It wasn't fair of him to say such things but she frustratingly couldn't tell him so without revealing why and that just led her right back to the path of ruining their friendship.
Still hiding behind the tree, her arm lowered and the snowball fell from her hand as her true smile of joy faded. Her head fell back against the tree and she forced a smile back on for the benefit of giving her friend her full support. "We're using up valuable time," she called out, trying to sound nonchalant. "I'm supposed to be helping you win over that girl you've been crushing on for forever, remember?" 'Yes, Anya, remember?' she scolded herself.

A wide grin spread all over Callum's face as they went on with their snowball fight. Also, he would have lied if he denied that he was already all over the moon with her, although it had been like just the other day that he'd confessed his feelings to himself. And for a moment, just now, he actually dared to believe that it was not only him who might be seeing more between them than just a friendship. This thought though got nipped in the bud when suddenly he heard the snow falling from Anya's hand, as she stood behind a tree for a while already, followed by words that he hadn't expected.
"We're using up valuable time," Valuable time? Actually, this scene between them was the most valuable time he'd ever had. "I'm supposed to be helping you win over that girl you've been crushing on for forever, remember?"
The playful grin vanished from his face bit by bit until it was no more than a forced smile, similar to Anya's. "I...", he started, feeling a little awkward all of a sudden, "I was actually thinking about that and maybe it's not the best of an idea after all." He tried to sound as casual as he could, underlining his words with a shrug of his shoulders. He just hoped that she wouldn't be asking why's that all of a sudden because everything he wanted right now was changing the topic.

Now it was Anya's turn to be surprised at hearing something she hadn't expected.
"What? Why?" she asked. 'Oh bullocks, did he figure it out?' The panicked thought of the one thing that she was most paranoid about suddenly struck her. What if he figured it out and didn't want to lead her on or give her hope, even if it was understood that she'd know it was all pretend in the name of helping him? She forced herself to step from behind the tree in order to read his features and his mannerisms.
No, she wasn't picking up on that. Anya relaxed as that paranoia left her once again. It seemed to be haunting her more and more lately because she felt as if she was having a harder time hiding it. There was only one other main reason for him backing out that struck her. Anya crossed her arms and pinned him with an accusatory look. "You don't think I'd be a good teacher. I'll have you know, I'm quite good at flirting." Anya shifted uncomfortably after her pride had had that mostly untested claim fly out of her mouth, sending her into a bit of a back peddle. "Well, not that I've had much opportunity to..." She was effectively defeating her own argument. Annoyed at herself, Anya huffed and tried to recover by placing her hands on her hips and lifting her chin a notch. "I know I'd be good at it," she proclaimed.

"What? Why?"
And there it was. The asking he had been expecting. Callum let out a sigh of annoyance, accidentally more obviously as intended. Well, what had felt like a great moment between two friends that both might have feelings for each other had already changed into something awkward anyway. How could he be so foolish to think that she might be in love with him as well...?
At first, Callum was shirking from her glances but then she said something that brought a sudden grin to his face, even amused laughter that he hoped she wouldn't take as true-meant mocking.
"You don't think I'd be a good teacher. I'll have you know, I'm quite good at flirting."
He didn't say anything but gave her this look that was interestedly asking Is that so?
"Well, not that I've had much opportunity to...", Anya defeated her own argument, then huffed and placed her hands on her hips. And yet again Callum's head was free from any other thought than finding her angry or rather arguing attitude to be the cutest thing he'd ever seen. The grin upon his face widened, and gone was every feeling of discomfort. "I know I'd be good at it,"
Laughter lines were forming around his cheeks, as Callum wrapped one arm around a close-by tree and at the same time stretched his upper body in her direction. "Okay, prove it.", he challenged her, ignoring the rapid beating of his own heart at the mere thought of her going to accept this challenge in whatever way.

Anya could clearly see the amusement on his face. Challenges were hard for her to turn down. Especially when she also had revenge on mind and he would so pay for finding the thought of her being able to flirt as funny. She narrowed her eyes and accepted the challenge. "Oh, game on, bestie."
Anya dropped her arms from her hips and looked down, shaking herself loose, gathering herself and concentrating on mimicking how the other girls looked when she watched with fascination as they preened around boys. 'Okay, you've got this, Anya. Sultry smile, and look up through your eyelashes. There's like a hip swinging thing, too.' Anya took a deep breath and let it out, ready to start her performance. She lifted her head, keeping it a bit lower than normal so that she could do the glancing through eyelashes thing, then let her lips form into a coy smile. She took a swishing step forward and immediately stumbled.
"Woop!" she said, catching her footing and avoiding a very unsexy nose dive into the snow. Thrown off the game, Anya glanced behind her to see what had tripped her up and saw one of the roots of the tree poking out from the snow. She pointed at the offending object and stated, "That doesn't count! I haven't begun yet."
'Okay, a little less glancing through eyelashes. Maybe you'd have seen that tree root,' she told herself. Anya squared her shoulders and tried again. She moved forward and this time, tried to concentrate more on the challenge and revenge aspect. That had definitely helped. About halfway to him, her mind had become fully engrossed in an idea and nature had automatically kicked in the feminine wiles.
She stood in front of him and smiled up. "Hi, I'm Anya," she said in a husky whisper. Anya shyly looked back down before glancing back up again. "I couldn't help but notice," she took another step, feeling the warmth of him now that there was barely any space between them, "how hot you looked and thought to myself," as she spoke, she placed her palms on his chest just below his shoulders and let them slowly work their way behind his neck, "he could really use," she raised to her toes to sneakily reach something right behind him, putting them at face level, their lips a breath away, and almost lost her concentration, but determination and sweet revenge kept enough fog off her mind to continue, "some cooling down."
In quick succession, she'd pulled back the collar from the back of his shirt and dropped the handful of snow she'd grabbed from the branch behind him right down it. Anya immediately took off in a peel of gleeful laughter fueled not just by having gotten her sweet revenge, but more by the rush she'd gotten from having been so close to Callum. So close that she'd almost completely forgotten about the revenge and closed that breath-away distance. Luckily she'd remembered it had all been only a challenge to Callum to prove she could flirt. But oh, it had been so exhilarating and would give her such great things to daydream about to help her through this crush ordeal.

"Oh, game on, bestie."
All the while of their little back and forth of whatever this actually was since Callum had started to well-intentioned mocking her, if there was even existing such a thing, the grin on his face still widened to an expression of pure joy. And when Anya was coming closer and closer, sending him seductive looks that she might not even know herself just how well they were working, especially on him, Callum's amusement about her clumsiness was fading bit by bit and instead changed into something full of longing. She probably would write it off as belonging to their game anyway, but at some point, he had to actually remind himself what this actually was. Just a game. To her at least. There had been a little moment that his face had drawn nearer to hers, his lips almost about to do a silly mistake, when suddenly something cold under his shirt kept him off from that automatically.
"... some cooling down."
Callum pulled away at the sudden shock of snow on his naked skin. He actually needed some seconds to cope with what just had happened or rather not had happened. And to be honest, he could have sworn that she had been feeling the same way; that she had been wanting to kiss him as well. Could that really be?
Eventually, Callum joined in her laughter, yet not as gleefully as hers was. "Okay, an eight for the flirting in general.", he stated as he pulled the back of his shirt a little to get rid of the snow inside, the consequence being that the front of his shirt was making it possible to get a glimpse of a six-pack beneath. He might not exactly be a sporting ace but it could be said that he'd always cut a good figure naturally. "Points deduction though for ... that part with the cooling down." Once also the rest of the snow had been shaken off, Callum turned his attention completely back at her. "Well, you can't do that to a guy. To any guy, I mean.", he added a little awkwardly, because yes, when it came to this, he was also just a guy. In his case though, a guy with, additionally, romantic feelings for her.

She'd missed out on the immediate reaction in her haste to be sure he couldn't get immediate revenge if he had it in mind. When she felt she'd put enough space, Anya turned to bask in what was left of the reaction.
"Okay, an eight for the flirting in general."
Anya huffed and crossed her arms, pretending to be insulted by that score, but quickly forgot what she was supposed to be insulted about when his shirt pulled tight in the front as he'd been shaking out the show from the back, hinting at a six-pack unfortunately hidden under all that winter clothing. Warm weather was so very far away, though it certainly felt as if it had suddenly gotten warmer out here.
"Points deduction though for ... that part with the cooling down." "Well, you can't do that to a guy. To any guy, I mean."
Anya chuckled. "Oh, of course not," she said with a dismissive wave. "No cooldown part next time," she promised, assuming he was referring to only the snow-down-the-back part of it. Honestly though, Anya couldn't picture herself doing that flirty part again either. Using that approach on guys was so over the top and just wasn't her style. Well, at least not on just any guy. She certainly had not minded audaciously flirting and cozying up to Callum. Only moments had passed and she was craving more. Perhaps it was a good thing he didn't want to do the whole practice thing.

"Oh, of course not,""No cooldown part next time,"
For a moment Callum just watched her with an expression on his face that was not even to name - maybe a mix of perplexity, bewilderment, embarrassment and a wee bit of anticipation. Anya must have been referring to the snow-down-the-back part and not what he actually had meant. To get rid of his mental cinema, Callum pretended to pull one last rest of snow out of the back of his shirt. At least, he didn't blush easily because of his natural flirty attitude, although it was something different with her now.
"So, you still might be a lot better in this than me.", Callum eventually spoke up again and gave her an almost sheepish, even though rather put-on, smile. He was liking the way their conversation had went, except for the cooling-down part, of course, a little too much to give in and just be Anya and Callum, besties but no more, again already. And despite their natural flirting attitude, Callum felt his heart beating faster than it usually did.

Anya grinned, feeling especially appreciative of that compliment coming from him. "Oh, I'm sure that's not true," she said encouragingly. "Did you notice the part where I almost ate snow?" she joked, gesturing at the offending tree limb again even though she had stated that it hadn't counted.
Still riding on that high after having gotten a taste, she grasped at the opportunity he'd left wide open for her to take advantage of and feed her craving more. "Let me be the judge. Show me what you've got," she said, encouraging him forward with a wave of both her hands.

Callum chuckled at her comment with the snow eating, although he thought that even if she had, he wouldn't have felt less attracted to her. It might not have had exactly the same effect on him, but her clumsiness surely was one of the things he loved about her.
And when she spoke up again, Callum sent a mental yes! up into the air. It was not exactly like he was trying everything right now to get close to her again, oh well, who was he to fool himself? - of course, he was.
"Let me be the judge. Show me what you've got,", Anya said as she waved him over with both her hands.
Callum let out a playful harrumph, adjusted his clothes and actually tried his best to not let the upcoming grin affecting his score, as he started to casually walk up towards her. At some point, the beating of his own heart and the sight of the lowering distance between them somehow turned the amusement on his face into rather a tension. At this point, he didn't have in mind that this still was just a game. Sure, he knew, but would he be able to cool himself down when they were standing right in front of each other as they had before?
Callum was only a couple of steps away from her when the sight of the lowering distance between them, along with her actually looking like this could be more than just a game for her as well, brought back his self-assurance all of a sudden.
A sassy grin appeared on his lips as he stopped right in front of her, leaning his right arm on the tree right behind her. Then two words left his lips that he simply couldn't suppress. "Hey, Babe." Callum had to chuckle right the moment these words had come over him and actually thought them to be his own cooling down, but then his eyes suddenly went down to her lips and back to her eyes. She was so very close. He didn't even notice so himself, but it seemed like the distance between their faces seemed to reduce itself bit by bit as if they both would be two cohesive poles that simply attracted each other. Another thing Callum actually didn't notice was that his left hand slowly reached out to her cheek as if to cup it.

Anya felt the giddy wings of butterflies in her stomach when he started to approach. Her pulse kicked up and she leaned back against the tree, trying to appear casual when in fact she needed the extra support due to her knees suddenly going weak.
She'd tried to appear detached and casual at first since this was only a game, but when he was only steps away, looking as if this was completely serious and completely real, thoughts of this only being a game fled her mind and a giddy grin overtook her features.
He leaned toward her with an arm resting on one side of her, making her feel completely surrounded by him and she nearly melted into a puddle at his feet.
"Hey, Babe."
Her short giggle accompanied his chuckle. She managed to get out a breathy "Hi" in response to encourage him to go on. Her eyes slipped down to his lips just as his had to hers and she wondered if she was just fantasizing that they were getting closer. She looked back up and her eyes were immediately captured by his. She couldn't pull them away, nor did she even think about doing so. The palm of his left hand was reaching out to her and as if on instinct, her face began to invitingly tilt toward it. At some point, without realizing it, one of her hands had reached out and had casually taken hold of one of the open halves of his jacket front as if subconsciously reeling him in.

*** Nathaniel, Mr. King, walked over from The Three Broomsticks ***
Okay, he was far apart from making these girls his ones for this night - but why the hell did he have to watch after some stupid students who couldn’t resist to play at a forbidden place?! It was his free time! He already drunk a lot of booze. But not enough to be called mentally incompetent. So his sense of obligation made him went outside and look for the two students. Or maybe it was just because he didn’t want to loose his new job at Hogwarts just because he didn’t care about these children. One way or another he had no choice.
The closer he got to the Shrieking Shack’s surroundings the more he started asking himself if it had really been cursed or something like that. And then he saw the two students. "Gosh! Really?!," he spoke to himself and wasn’t sure if he could trust his eyes. Did they really choose this area for a secret little tryst? Normally Nathaniel wasn’t the one who would interrupt a rendezvous – not if there was no chance to be taken into it… But this time he should do it due to his appearance as an authority. And, of course but he wouldn’t speak it out loud, because he got a bit green-eyed. If he didn’t have the chance for a good night today because of these two, they also shouldn‘t have their Moment in reverse!
So he came toward them and gave a clear and loud hrumph. "Didn’t your parents ever told you that rules were made to follow them? Go and get yourself a room! But not here at the forbidden place." Although he completely felt what they might feel about it. Making love at a forbidden and maybe cursed place sounded like a challenge to him… But as their upcoming teacher he shouldn’t encourage them to break the rules.

With their lips only centimeters away from each other, Callum could have sworn that there was more between them than just being friends. And they might have shared the most wonderful first kiss if this stupid guy hadn't interrupted them, in the most awkward way at that. The harrumph introducing his words hadn't even been heard by Callum and probably not by Anya either.
"Didn’t your parents ever told you that rules were made to follow them? Go and get yourself a room! But not here at the forbidden place."
Although it was the last thing Callum wanted to do, he drew back from Anya immediately, looking anywhere but in her direction. Whoever this man was, he was hating him deep from the bottom of his heart already now.
"We weren't doing anything. Just being here," Callum uttered with embarrassment, yet hidden good enough behind a mask of casualness that one could get the idea he was serious about this hadn't meant anything to him, even shrugging his shoulders and adding an eye-roll.

No longer was she only feeling a physical sense of being surrounded by him, Anya's entire being was so completely absorbed in Callum that everything had fallen away from around them. Nothing outside of the two of them in this very moment existed and though their lips were only a mere second away from touching, it felt like a sweet, agonizing eternity. The kind of anticipation you wanted to end but at the same time, savored.
"Didn’t your parents ever told you that rules were made to follow them? Go and get yourself a room! But not here at the forbidden place."
Anya's eyes flew open, not even remembering when they had closed. She felt disoriented as the foreign voice shattered the illusion, the embarrassing words sending a wave of mortification through her that was like ice water snuffing out the warmth that had emanated from her heart to heat her entire being. The only warmth that remained was in the blush of her cheeks in their betrayal of giving away her embarrassment.
"We weren't doing anything. Just being here,"
And that was like a stab to her heart, the way he so nonchalantly brushed it off, looking and sounding bored with the added eye-roll giving her the impression he thought the notion completely ridiculous. Hurt and anger at herself washed away the embarrassment but years of having to protect herself from a horrible foster family had taught her to hide her feelings well.
"Psh." She gave an eyeroll of her own. "We were just joking around," she said with a dismissive wave. Anya needed to put some space between them so decided to do something not in her character and initiate an introduction. As she started to step away, the hurt caused her to childishly take a jab at Callum. "Definitely needs some work," she said in a bored mutter for Callum's ears only.
Anya took quick strides toward the stranger, even going so far as to formerly offer her right hand with the introduction. She usually avoided touching things--or people--that possessed magic due to the deep tingle it caused the scars on her palm, but the winter gloves over her usual fingerless gloves would serve as a good buffer. "Hi, I'm Anastasia. That's my best friend, Callum," she added with a casual gesture of her left hand in Callum's general direction without bothering to look toward him. Perhaps the 'best friend' part had been more information than necessary but it was a helpful reminder to herself to say it out loud.
Her brain finally caught up with the stranger's earlier words just as her eyes caught up with assessing him. Not only was the stranger really handsome, but he exuded charm that created a dangerous air about him and drew a person in like a moth to a flame. She liked to think she was smart enough to not be taken in by charm, but her slight stutter made her realize that perhaps she wasn't completely immune. "Sorry, did--did you say something about 'forbidden place'?"

The two students behaved like they were caught in the act. It was just too sweet how they tried to gloss over their little rendezvous or whatever it had been. "We weren't doing anything. Just being here," 'Sure! Tell it to the marines!,' Nathaniel thought. But he didn’t say anything out loud. There was just a slight grin sorrounding the corners of his mouth. The boy tried to be as cool as he can. It was obvious that he wanted to act as guiltless and also a bit annoyed at the stranger who dared to disturb him and his 'best friend'. "We were just joking around," The girl approved the boy‘s words. Of course she did – she had to! That lad just abandoned her.
But then she was the first one who came over to him. "Hi, I'm Anastasia. That's my best friend, Callum," "Hello, and I‘m Nathaniel. It’s a pleasure to meet you, young lady," he answered with a gentle smile on his lips and adumbrated a bow. Suddenly she seemed to realize the meaning of his former words. "Sorry, did--did you say something about 'forbidden place'?" While he started to gave her an answer he put on a solemn face. "Yes, I did. There were several rumors about this place. And considering to your wardrobes you two had to be students from Hogwarts. So I think you should know about this place, don’t you?" He made a short pause and turned his head from Anastasia to Callum. "What about you, young man? Why do you take a young lady to a place like this?"

"Psh.""We were just joking around,"
Ouch. Now, this was a stab to his heart, not thinking about how much his first reaction could have caused the same effect on her, just as not daring to think that now her words could be kind of self-protection rather than meant as they had sound. Ever since they have gotten interrupted, Callum had avoided to look her in the eyes, but as she turned away from him, the extending distance between them feeling like losing something that must have been to good to be true, Callum's head slightly followed each of her steps towards the stranger. The stranger, who had destroyed everything. A frown appeared on his features just naturally.
And when she suddenly slightly turned her head around to him once again, some kind of hope was about to rekindle, just to be choked only a second later.
"Definitely needs some work,"
Her words reminded her of how they actually got into this situation and that all of this never had been more than a game, for her at least. Or was she just too proud to admit that it was not? Actually unsurprisingly, considering how quick he had been on downplaying everything, wasn't it? But how else should he have behaved at that moment anyway? Oh Merlin, this was enough to drive one despair. How could anyone talk of sweet love? Or was it just this complicated when you fell in love with your best friend? Anyways, being just a game or not, the moment had been gone. Thanks to him. And at that thought, Callum's eyes darted back at the man Anya was just nearing.
"Hi, I'm Anastasia. That's my best friend, Callum," And right back into friend zone.
"Hello, and I‘m Nathaniel. It’s a pleasure to meet you, young lady,"
"Sorry, did--did you say something about 'forbidden place'?" Callum was actually rather uninterested in any conversation with that man, just as he was not so pleased to see Anya conversing with him, to say the least.
"Yes, I did. There were several rumors about this place. And considering to your wardrobes you two had to be students from Hogwarts. So I think you should know about this place, don’t you?" Callum's glare of death had been aimed at the stranger for the whole time already, so it was still aimed at him when he turned his attention from Anya to Callum instead. "What about you, young man? Why do you take a young lady to a place like this?"
Oh wow, and now this guy was trying to talk guilt into him... bastard.
"So, what next?", Callum asked overly annoyed, not reacting to the question at all. "You going to sneak on me to my dad? Feel free," he huffed. Also, who did he think he was anyway? Talking like someone who was in the position to dictate him anything...

Oh, that young man was too funny! (Be careful – sarcasm!) He looked like a little grumpy blowhard who was angry that someone upstaged him. Nice. "So, what next?" "You going to sneak on me to my dad? Feel free," But he was so good at it. Really. Nathaniel had to admit that he was rather interesting than this sweet little girl. He just loved facing challenges… But - sadly - not this time. For the moment he had to be the wise adult who had to take care of these students. "Well, if you told me who your Dad is I could do, young man," he started to answer instead of everything else what had come to his mind at first. "But I'm sure your father wouldn’t like to be disturbed for a reason like this… I mean, nothing really happend." While he spoke he also made a dapper wave of the hand as if he wanted to wash away these little problem. His eyes wandered from the boy to the girl and, after a clearly longer moment facing on her than on him, back to the boy. "Listen, I don’t want to take you to the woodshed. You didn’t do something really wrong. But the other teachers wouldn’t like to hear that you were playing around this forbidden area. I think we should just leave this place and you two gave me the promise not to go back again as soon as I’m turning my back on you." He put out his hand to Anya, who stood nearer to him than Callum, to emphazise his words. "So,… do we have a deal?"

Anya was finding it hard to form words when she was being suffocated by all the testosterone being thrown around. She looked back and forth between the two, finding herself further flummoxed for words when the tall, handsome, abnormally magnetic stranger's attention boldly and confidently lingered on her longer than Callum.
"So,... do we have a deal?"
Anya glanced at his hand but didn't shake it quite yet. "First, let me clear something up," she quickly interjected having the feeling that Callum was about to fire off some more testosterone. Anya squared her shoulders and took the initiative before things could escalate. "This was all my fault. It was a mad rush out there. I saw a clearing and I pushed Callum to it, hoping to wait out the crush of students. Seeing as there were no signs and how there's still loads I don't know about this whole world of magic that is still fairly new to me, I believe I still need to choose something for my side of the deal." She pointedly put the emphasis on just her and not Callum since she had taken full responsibility for them being there in the first place.
Being so ignorant to this world sometimes got frustrating and tiresome. It was starting to push her into take proactive measures, especially in circumstances such as these where people acted as if it was just something everyone had known their entire lives. "Now," she said, stepping around Nathaniel to stand at the barbed wire. She placed a hand on one of the wood posts and studied the structure in the distance, then waved a frustrated hand toward the dilapidated looking shack. "Tell me what this place is and why it's forbidden, then I'll have no reason to stay and no reason to come back to it." She angled herself to offer her hand to Nathaniel with her updated terms. "Deal?"
Anya directed the question to Nathaniel, keeping most of her concentration on him, not only because he'd been the one to arrive and make the announcement that the place was forbidden, but also because Callum's nonchalance over what her feelings had misconstrued as more still stung.

Callum didn't know what he'd rather like to do right now - punching the lewd grin out of this man's face as his eyes lingered a little too long on Anya, or just leave this place to vent his anger about this whole situation, mostly his own stupid reaction after this guy had been interrupting them, somewhere else. He had a feeling that no matter for what he would decide, he had messed things up already anyway.
While Callum was pondering about all this, yet mostly throwing deadly looks at the stranger who, to top it all off, appeared to be a teacher even, he didn't really listen to anything. At the realization that he was a teacher though, his features hardened just a little bit more. One more reason he shouldn't look at Anya like that. Oh, he would like nothing better right now than to punch it out of his face, but Callum doubted that would make him sitting pretty in her eyes ever again.
Callum didn't like how Anya put all the blame on herself all of a sudden. It was him who should have known better, but how could he even have thought about the place around when they had been so close to each other, their lips about to meet in a kiss. A kiss that none of them could have written off as just a game. Dammit, this teacher was still to blame for everything...
While they went on with their conversation, Anya trying to gain information about this place, Callum just remained silent.

"First, let me clear something up," 'Good girl,' he thought inwardly. It was obviously clear who wear the pants if these two would ever get together. "This was all my fault. It was a mad rush out there. I saw a clearing and I pushed Callum to it, hoping to wait out the crush of students. Seeing as there were no signs and how there's still loads I don't know about this whole world of magic that is still fairly new to me, I believe I still need to choose something for my side of the deal." Oh, and now she took all fault on her own shoulders. Too nice. That blowhard didn’t deserve her. (Of course, HE didn’t deserve her for himself as well but that was not the topic at the moment. And, of course, he was a much greater braggart than this little guy in front of him!) But wait! What did she said? She still had to learn many things about the world of magic? Well, that was interesting. Considering to her age Nathaniel had assumed this wasn’t her first visit at Hogsmeade. But at the moment he kept his lips sealed. It surely would be much more revealing to ask her in private without Callum around her.
So he just watched Anya stepping around him. Oh, and needless to say that he particularly watched at her buttocks. Luckily the boy couldn’t see that because he stood in Nathaniel’s back – but it didn’t take much to figure it. "Now," "Tell me what this place is and why it's forbidden, then I'll have no reason to stay and no reason to come back to it." After telling him her condition she now offered him her hand. "Deal?" "You’re good, young Lady," he said smirking. But before he took her hand he glanced at Callum. It took him a lot of his sangfroid to not laugh about that young man’s face. It was just too funny. Maybe next time he should try to be nicer to him. That would surely confuse him a lot. Finally Nathaniel shook Anya’s hand but also changed her terms a bit. "I‘ll tell you everything about this place. But not now. It would take a lot of time – time that you two better should spent around Hogsmeade. You should enjoy this trip." Then he lowered his voice that only Anya could hear him. "I’ll send you a message during the next days and invite you to my office. You have my word that I’ll give you all of your answers." And maybe he would get some answers from her, too…
Then he released her hand and called on Callum. Now it was the time to show him that he shouldn’t underestimate him. "Mr. Malfoy, please lead the young Lady in a safe place. Oh, and you got my word that I won’t tell anything about this little meeting to your father." Nathaniel certainly knew who the boy’s father was. Well, to be honest, he knew his name. He had heard about Draco Malfoy and that his sons, Callum and Scorpius, were also going to school at Hogwarts.

"You’re good, young Lady,"
That felt like a hell of a compliment coming from the likes of someone who appeared to be aces at verbal and mind games. It definitely boosted her confidence in the situation.
"I‘ll tell you everything about this place. But not now. It would take a lot of time – time that you two better should spent around Hogsmeade. You should enjoy this trip."
Anya gave a growl of frustration. So much for feeling like she'd gained the upper hand. No way would she wait until their next trip here to seek him out and learn about-- He lowered his voice, interrupting her thoughts and gaining her full attention.
"I’ll send you a message during the next days and invite you to my office. You have my word that I’ll give you all of your answers."
His office? Anya looked momentarily confused as he shook her hand, then it hit her. 'Good God, he's a professor?' His mannerisms, the way he looked and spoke, the way he'd looked at her (and most likely every woman), she'd assumed he owned a place here in Hogsmeade. Anya had been imagining some flashy bar with seedy goings-on. She was too dumbfounded to answer with anything but a nod.
Anya watched him turn to address Callum, wondering how anyone attracted to the male species would be able to concentrate in his classes.
"Mr. Malfoy, please lead the young Lady in a safe place. Oh, and you got my word that I won’t tell anything about this little meeting to your father."
Finally braving a look at Callum, she took in his expression of rage. He looked on the brink of acting on it and Anya quickly went into motion. "Yes," she began, quickly reaching his side. Anya looped her arm through his and laced their gloved fingers together, willing some of her calm into him by giving his hand a comforting squeeze as she pulled him into motion. "You promised me my very first mug of butterbeer, remember? I want to know what all the rage is about."
Anya had never seen such anger. He always seemed quick to temper around his father but that was from a lifetime of drama between the two. She didn't understand what had set him off far worse than she'd seen with his father against this stranger. Luckily the aforementioned stranger followed from behind out of their eyesight, giving the sense of a bit of privacy. A movement in Callum's sleeve gave Anya an idea for another distracting topic. The professor might be out of eyesight but not necessarily out of earshot so she spoke quietly. "You know, you've never told me how Ralph came into your life."

When the teacher's eyes had been wandering over at him, Callum really had to get his shit together to not say something that might have him end up in detention class. For probably both their luck, he turned his attention back to Anya, although that wasn't exactly what would calm him down. And when that guy suddenly lowered his voice so that only Anya could hear him, there was no way Callum's temper would calm down as long as he was there. He could only see half of her face, but he didn't like the surprise on it. What the hell did he say to her? Callum was seething with rage.
"Mr. Malfoy, please lead the young Lady in a safe place. Oh, and you got my word that I won’t tell anything about this little meeting to your father."
And then this guy addressed him again, daring to bring up the topic of his father again - usually something he didn't mind at all, but this was something different. It simply was, with no need for a specific reason.
Just as Callum was going to completely lose his self-control, Anya prevented him from doing something stupid, last minute.
"Yes," Her action of looping her arm through his, lacing their gloved fingers together, admittedly was distracting him for a moment and even made his heart jump in his chest. Then she slowly pulled him into motion, back from that man calling himself a person commanding respect. "You promised me my very first mug of butterbeer, remember? I want to know what all the rage is about."
Even though he still was angry, Callum allowed her to pull them away from each other, yet not without sending one last glare of mortal hatred towards him.
"You know, you've never told me how Ralph came into your life.", Anya spoke up again, as soon as the teacher was out of eyesight.
Finally, Callum turned his attention to her. There was a moment when his sense and his inner curiosity to learn about what he had said to her in private had a fight with each other. Unfortunately, that inner curiosity won over his sense. "So, what did he want from you?", he asked a little bit too demanding. Why couldn't he just be glad about the little physical contact between them and forget about what had happened?

Well, so much for her attempt at the butterbeer and Ralph origin story distractions. They bounced right off the anger he wouldn't let go of. What had gotten him so riled up? Anya again gave the hand she still held onto a comforting squeeze.
Want from her? What in the world would she have to offer the older, worldly suave man who probably wanted for nothing? Anya looked at Callum, brows lifted in surprise. She discretely glanced back, seeing that the Professor--it still shocked to her think of him as one--had put more distance between himself and them to allow them some privacy.
"Nothing," she said easily. "He just promised to tell me all about that run down building later." She shrugged. "It's a restricted area and it was his job to get us out. I shouldn't have tried to bargain. I had no idea he was a professor!" she said in defense, blushing slightly. Frustrated or not in her lack of knowledge in the magical world, Anya never would have defiantly tried to come up with her own terms. She might have bugged them on the walk back for an explanation, not ignore his offered hand and step around him, demanding answers before complying.
