I gave it 4 stars! Love the suspense and creeptastically creepy Ethan and something new and intriguing at the end! This episode is laced with examples of why Christian, Jack's dad, had told him "You don't have what it takes." Jack doesn't have the ability to give up and accept failure. He does not handle failure well at all. However, this shortcoming actually paid off when it came to Charlie. I remember the first time watching this, having tears streaming during that scene. I thought for sure Charlie was a goner and the emotions portrayed by Jack and Kate along with the music really got me in the feels. We get to see what a horrible person Jack's dad was. Not just the way he treated and manipulated Jack but just the way he was in general. It's obvious that Christian is the polar opposite and has way too much of "what it takes" to the point that he doesn't seem to bat an eye at the fact he basically killed that woman and her unborn child since he was operating under the influence. I loved how after Christian says they'd strip him of his license, Jack straight up says "Yes they will" without missing a beat. He knew exactly what the consequence was for coming clean and he had no qualms about doing the right thing. Matthew Fox did such an amazing job in that scene where Christian was trying to get him to sign. You could see how much he's always craved his dad's approval and his dad uses that against him after threatening doesn't work, saying all the things to him that he knows Jack wants to hear. Later, you can clearly see Jack come to that realization he was played when Christian puts his hand on the shoulder of the grieving husband in the same way he did to Jack and yet Jack still held his tongue until it was revealed that the woman had been pregnant. Jack did the right thing, especially since Christian didn't seem to have remorse for what he'd done which only leads you to believe he's going to keep right on with operating under the influence. So, why doesn't Charlie remember what happened? Could it be the effects of literally being dead for a few minutes? Trauma? Did Ethan do something to alter his memory? And Charlie said 'they.' Was there more than just Ethan or was Charlie just using that as a general term? And what's with the steel in the jungle floor? I can't wait to see what Locke and Boone uncover! Favorite quotes/moments:
Boone: What did you do in the real world, Mr. Locke? Locke: Why don't you guess? Boone: Well, you're either a taxidermist or a hit man. The Hurley/Walt backgammon game and dang, Hurley owes Walt $20,000! Lol Boone: They teach you how to predict the weather at a box company? The scene where Jack and Kate find Charlie and bring him back. The end where Boone and Locke find something steel in the jungle floor

From me this episode gets only 3 stars. It wasn't bad or something, but compared to 4-star-rated episodes it was not that good. Though I agree with you, Heidi, that the ending was awesome and really nerve-stretching! Gosh, I was so shocked, when I saw Charlie hang there! O.O Ok ok, was pretty sure, that he wasn't dead (but then, he seriously WAS for minutes!). I was praying in front of my tv lol. And it was so heavy to see Jack hitting on Charlie in desperation! But all other scenes didn't deserve 4 stars in my opinion. This episode had an unusual start compared to the others, as it started right after the last episode ended. But as there was a cliffhanger in it, it was a good way to continue. Yah, agree. Jack's dad is such an idiot. -.- But I was proud of Jack, when he decided to say the truth, even if it meant to "betray" his dad. But even if Christian was an asshole, I felt a little sad for him that moment. Probably because of my curse trying to see the good in people, which actually aren't worth to feel like that for them. I wonder why Charlie doesn't remember what happened either. And I'm pretty sure there is more than just Ethan involved. Maybe the french girl from before? Actually, in the beginning I was doubting that Ethan really was the kidnapper. Don't know, I just thought it was looking too easy. In this epiode I got the feeling, that Michael starts to get jelous of Locke, because Walt seems to look up to Locke more than to his father. Well, Locke is just an interesting man, so who could blame the kid for that. But I'm sure, that this will change and at some point Michael will do something, that impresses Walt. I wondered btw about the fact, that Sayid was talking so open to Sawyer about the french girl he met in the jungle. It was good that he did, I just wasn't awaiting that. So funny to see Hurley and Walt playing chess. They were like actually TWO kids playing lol. Seems Hurley is a really bad looser in games. ------------------------ Favourite quotes:Hurley: "Back home, I'm known as something of a warrior myself." (Does he mean in a videogame??! Like that idea lol!)

Oh and german title is "Fährtensucher", which means "tracker" in english. Well, probably changed the title again because of the length.
