I gave it 4 out of 5.
Damned if almost every episode doesn't get me at least a little teary-eyed! This one, I got all teary-eyed at the ending when Sun finds her ring. Such a great actress! She had tears of joy as she put her ring back on while remembering the first time she met Jin.
Haha and the fact, that Sun bumped into her, ONLY because he had a look at another woman before. xD Men...
But totally sweet, that with them it was like love at the first look!
Lol!! Actually, I don't think he would have looked at that woman like that if it wasn't for what happened at the beginning in the first flashback with his friend. Jin was upset about just walking away from his job but remember, his friend said that he would find love today and when Jin asked what it would look like, his friend said, "Orange." What seemed to really get Jin's attention was not that the woman was really pretty in a really pretty dress but that the dress was ORANGE! He had an amused smile at seeing the orange, since it reminded him of what his friend had told him that morning and if he hadn't been distracted because of the color of the dress bringing to memory what his friend said, he may not have bumped into Sun. They were both upset and distracted and would most likely have simply walked right by each other.
Speaking of Jin, it struck me as so amazing once again to realize how much my opinion of Jin has changed. Such amazing character development when you go from really disliking a character to feeling compassion and rooting for them.
Hm somehow Ana is a little annoying to me on the island. I think she acted up quite a lot in this episode. So I loved even more the scene in which she told Jin to catch some fish instead of doing nothing. And Jin threw out the fishing net only one time and caught several fishes immidiately lol. That was hilarious!
I agree, Ana Lucia is, as Sawyer so eloquently put it, a bitch. But remember how she was before the flight in Jack's flashback when they met at the bar? She was all smiles and nice. So this temperament change definitely has to do with whatever happened to the Tailies. They've mentioned that there were 23 of them but now there's hardly any. Mr. Eko and Jin came across a body in the jungle that had been run through and Mr. Eko said his name had been Goodwin and when Jin asked, "Others?" Mr. Eko nodded.
Lol, I was also laughing when Jin immediately caught all those fish right after Ana Lucia was bitchily asking him to help. I think it had to do with whatever he was doing with the sea urchin. I think I remember discussing that back when we were first watching the show and someone said that the needles of the sea urchin can cause numbing to the fish so if he's throwing them around and the're hitting a fish or a fish eats one, I think they sort of just are disoriented so that's how Jin reeled in all those at once.
Oh man, again such an asshole boss in a flashback scene. The Lost guys didn't seem to have luck on that in the past.
But this time Jin was at least acting right, throwing away the job because of that horrible boss. I'm sure he only didn't in the future because his next boss was Sun's father.
I totally agree. The Seoul Gateway Hotel owner, Mr. Lee, was such an asshole. His sun though was really nice but it sucks what he did to Sun. But he didn't do it on purpose. He was really surprised when he found out Sun thought they were really dating. He thought they were both taking advantage of their friendship to make it look like dating to get their families off their backs. I guess maybe it was because when they were first alone, Sun asked who was making him do this.
Geez, Mr. Lee was so demeaning to Jin. He's so prejudice. He spoke so horribly of lower class people and right to Jin's face. "Don't open the door for people like you." Wow, if any boxx in the U.S. said that, it would be an automatic lawsuit and easy win.
Funny fact that in Jin's flashback he gave the flower at his clothes to Sun's Date. xD The whole time he was standing at the front door or above all when Sun walked out, I was like "Oh common guys, come to meet each other!"
I know! It's because of their customers. They don't make eye contact like in some other countries and because of his station at the hotel as doorman, I think it would be insulting for him to not avert his eyes in respect for his position and station in life compared to those staying there.
But I totally didn't get what the Date from Sun wanted anyway. O.O He had a fiancee and wanted to have a romantic dinner with flowers with Sun?? What's wrong with that guy?
I know! Jae was already in love with a girl he met at college from America. He thought that he and Sun had a mutual understanding that they were pretending to be dating to keep their families off their backs. They were both sick of their families bothering them and hiring a matchmaker. He just needed to pretend until he could get away and go back to America. Poor Sun didn't know. For the first time, she was actually happy with one of her set-ups.
I wonder, if the persons walked through the jungle were the Others now? And one of them had a plush teddy! Is there a child with them?? Maybe the son from the french woman from before?
Yes, those were the Others and yes, the last one was a kid! You could tell by the shorter legs and of course, the teddy bear. But no, it's not Danielle's son. Danielle only had her daughter, Alex. She had killed her husband and the rest of her crew before Alex as even born and she's been living alone all these yeras so she didn't have any other kids.
Hah! SKATE!
Kate is looking very very sad while thinking about that she wasn't able to say good bye to Sawyer.
One point to the Skate bank!
Yah, yah. One point to Skate. Bleh!!! Lol!
So on to some additional comments. I really like Mr. Eko right away. He's this big tough guy that doesn't say much but when he does, it's always so wise. Kinda like Locke but without the crazy. He's got this quiet power to him. I do wonder, though, what he meant by "Worse" when Jin asked him if he was married. So I guess he's saying he'd not married but what he was in comparison is worse. We'll have to wait until we learn more about him to find out!
Geez, we haven't even met these Others accept for Ethan and I'm already so scared of them just based on the reactions of the Tailies. Especially Mr. Eko! If he's scared of them... *shudder* It looks like the Tailies refer to the Others as "They". The Others definitely seem to be long time indigenous to the island. They know their way around, they can move around without leaving tracks, they walk around barefoot in raggedy clothes. They look like castaways gone wild.
It was really nice to see Locke the Philosopher again instead of Locke, the crazy island prophet! He definitely did have wise words for Sun. Very true, you do tend to find things when you stop looking but then again, it's usually way, way later when you really don't need that thing that much anymore, lol! You can still see how happy he is to be on that island. "I'm not lost anymore," he said. Obviously, he considers the island to be his haven. His home.

Hurley: So, Seoul. Is that in the good Korea or the bad Korea?
Sun: Did you see me?
Locke: Rip apoart your garden? No.
Locke: I'm not lost anymore.
Mr. Eko: This is fresh. These tracks.
Jin: Michael.
Mr. Eko: Yes, Michael. "They" don't leave tracks.
The Ana Lucia/Sawyer "are you married" chat was so funny!
