4 out of 5 stars from me!
It's interesting to learn more about the Others but I've been enjoying the scenes with the other survivors more, especially what's going on with Desmond!
Ben is so freakin' smart and crazy good at deception. He's amazing to watch even though you hate him for the things he's doing to Sawyer, Kate, and Jack. The pacemaker thing was so messed up! But on the other hand, a very clever ruse to keep the hotheaded Sawyer in line. The pacemaker did provide some funny moments, like when Sawyer's heart rate sped up while Kate was changing and he dumped the bucket of water over his head! Lol!!
Sawyer repaid Ben with a slug to the face. Man, I don't think I've ever seen a character on TV or in movies that has been punched more in the face than Benjamin Linus.
Then there was the other moment where he was watching Jack on the monitors and you could practically see the gears in his mind strategizing before he says to let Jack stay with the body for awhile longer. That's messed up.
At the beginning, Ben says to Juliet, "The sub is back." What did he mean by that? Do the others have a submarine? Is that how they sneaked onto the beach that one time when they had guards up everywhere and how they sneaked onto the boat when Sun was there alone?
The Others seem so hostile to me because they've been kidnapping, hurting, and manipulating the survivors but then the thing with Colleen dying and them not having the proper medical equipment, along with Juliet saying they've never had something like this happen before, makes me wonder why they're suddenly finding themselves in this position. Besides Desmond, are the Oceanic survivors the only ones to end up on the island? If so, why did the Others feel the need to scare and control them?
Does it have anything to do with those x-rays that Jack saw? They belong to a man of about 40 years old and the man has a large tumor. Are those x-rays for real or is it another manipulation tactic? If they're real, whose are they? I know I immediately thought of Ben. Are they his? Does he have a tumor? Is that why they kidnapped him along with Sawyer and Kate? Or are the x-rays fake or from some other random person put there on purpose for Jack to catch as he was being led by to be used for some form of tactic? You never know with these Others.
Holy crap, when Ben led Sawyer up to that point and showed him that they were on a different, smaller island! Ben made mention of it being twice the size of Alcatraz so that smaller island was referred to by fans as Alcatraz. We know now that Hydra station is on Alcatraz but is the whole island the Hydra station or just part of it? Is there anything else there?
So back to my main fascination... Desmond! What is going on with him? We first see him sitting on the beach, watching Claire and Aaron intently. He then casually walks up and offers to fix her roof. It seems odd but even odder when he goes and takes one of the golf clubs while Paulo (yuck, what an ass, just like Nikki) is hitting rocks into the ocean. He sets it up on a pole with wires going into the sand and I immediately think it's a lightening rod, though I so cracked up when Hurley was like, "Is it.... art?" Lmao! I was fascinated because I knew then that Desmond knew something. He tells Hurley to wait as he's about to walk off like he knows it's going to start raining right then and then bam! Lightening strikes the golf club. You can see Charlie's face as he registers that Desmond freakin' knew that was going to happen.
As for Sawyer's flashbacks, we learned that Sawyer has a daughter named Clementine (if Cassidy was telling the truth). He served some time in jail after Cassidy helped put him away and basically used his skills to get out early. There wasn't much else we learned from his flashbacks this time around.
Favorite scenes and quotes
Kate: I don't know what they did to you. But I know you're scared enough to lie about it. And that scares me more than anything that they have done to us before.
Sawyer: Damn it, Freckles, go. Every man for himself. Kate: Live together, die alone.
Juliet: Are you just saying that to make me feel better? Jack: I don't care about making you feel better.
Hurley: [looking at lightening rod Desmond built] Is that -- art?
Warden Harris: Congratulations, Ford, you just lied and cheated your way out of prison. You're a free man.
Sawyer: [to Ben] It's from Of Mice and Men. You'd like it -- puppies get killed.
Ben: We did all this because the only way to gain a con man's respect is to con him. And you're pretty good, Sawyer. We're a lot better.

5 out of 5 stars! I really enjoyed this episode! Ben's the BEST at deception, geez! xD Wait, what? Hate him for the things he... uh well, I probably should hate him for that too... why I don't? Haha! Let's see if something he will done in the future makes me change my mind though. Oh yes, I hated him a bit, when he killed that rabbit.. but then in the end we found out, that the rabbit actually is alive. So that fact made me dishate (xDD I know that is no actual word!) him! I so loved the pacemaker scenes! So hilarious! And I knew Sawyer would look at Kate, when she changed her cloths. Actually... in every scene someone says "and do not look" that happens anyway, lol. Kate said she loves Sawyer! I was sure she did it to end that brutal scene before her eyes, but also I think it was more truth than she knew herself. :-) Even though I felt sad, when she told Sawyer she said it just because of that reason. Oh Kate, you will learn eventually! And you too, Heidi! xD Btw if it was that easy to climb out of the cages, why no one at least tried to do it before??! O.o I also bet Ben is the one with the tumor in his spine. And from that moment on I was sure about the reason Jack was one of names on the Others' list to get there. I enjoyed the conversation between Sawyer and Ben in the end! Two badasses talking to each other! xD And how both were using phrases from that book they mentioned. I like the fact that Sawyer has a daughter, though he probably isn't sure about he really has himself. But then, I like that he started to safe the money for her instead of using it for himself. ------------------------------------------------ Favourite quotes:Juliet: "Are you just saying that to make me feel better?" Jack: "I don't care about making you feel better." Sawyer: [to Ben] "It's from Of Mice and Men. You'd like it -- puppies get killed."

Btw if it was that easy to climb out of the cages, why no one at least tried to do it before??! O.o Because those cages were built for bears (most likely the polar bears we saw running around). Bears definitely wouldn't fit through those bars and I'm not sure if Karl would have fit through them? Kate is skinny and is a really good climber, not to mention really smart and used to having to escape from captivity so she was studying her cage whereas Karl didn't. Plus Karl knew they were on a separate island so there was nowhere to go. Kate doesn't know that. Sawyer's cage is built differently. There's no bars far enough for a person to climb through. I also bet Ben is the one with the tumor in his spine. And from that moment on I was sure about the reason Jack was one of names on the Others' list to get there. Yup, Jack was put on the list by Ben, but kinda spoilerish for one of the next eps, apparently, he wasn't supposed to be on the list...
