**GoT SPOILERS** **GoT SPOILERS** **GoT SPOILERS** **GoT SPOILERS** - - - - - -
So let me get this straight...
...Daenerys Targaryen turns into a tyrant queen (as predicted) and Jon Snow saves the rest of the world by regretfully ending her life (as predicted) but instead of being allowed to fulfill his rightful role as king of the seven kingdoms he is still treated like a bastard and banished back to Castle Black? Back to square effing one? Yes, I did see the part where it is assumed he is the new leader of the Free Folk but was the build up of him becoming Aegon Targaryen all for nothing?
I'm trying to make sense of Bran becoming the new ruler of the seven kingdoms, and I wouldn't have so much of a problem with it if the story was executed better. It's almost like they didn't know who to pick at the end, so they just hummed and hawed and went with someone just because.
Practically the only thing that I liked about the episode was Sansa's outcome in becoming the Queen in the North and out of everyone's development I am most proud of hers.
The fact that there were so many clever and well written theories/speculations out there just for everything to end so mediocre made me feel sad. G.R.R Martin did a beautiful job with the books and the past seasons were some of the most incredible storytelling I've seen. Needless to say...I personally think we could have written something much better for the finale and as usual the networks should just hire us already!

I actually have mixed feelings as for the show finale. I thought it was not THAT bad but also nothing really special. Let's put it this way: after the episode before, I've expected worse.
I think the message of the ending was that blood should no longer decide about who becomes a ruler but instead everyone, even a cripple, could. I was rather surprised about Bran would be chosen for the throne but pissed about Jon was sent back to Castle Black. Also, I had the feeling that all of this was happening quite rushed all of a sudden.
I totally agree that they were A LOT of fan theories that would have made a better ending. And I'm damn sure we'll be able to create an awesome new season with our RPG! So, all in all, I'd say the show finale was okay, but really not more. And Petyr Baelish's death was really bad writing... the fan theory that I had been hoping to come true would have explained so much but it seemed hints had been placed without making any sense.
Long live Littlefinger at our little RPG place! We can do better!

So I rewatched the last two episodes with a much clearer head. I now get what you mean Ilona about why they elected someone like Bran to become ruler. And even though Jon never wanted the throne and is probably much happier being king of the Freefolk, I'm still mad about how everything went down with him.
Also, I realized Arya didn't get to steal any faces this season!! There were some great plots and theories surrounding whose face she might steal or what kind of trickery she would be up to, to finish off her list.
Cersei and Jamie should have had a better ending than to just be buried under some rubble together.
Watching the last two episodes again made me miss when the show was somewhat based off of the writing of the books. A lot from the books didn't make it into the show, but at least they had George's amazing writing to work off of.

Finally got a chance to watch the series finale tonight. Alas, I was spoiled on a lot of the major plot points, so I can't really say how I would have felt going into this season blissfully ignorant.
I think my biggest complaint, much like everyone else, was that the ending was too rushed. It seemed like a lot of character development got tossed out the window (sorry, Bran), especially with Jaime. Telling Tyrion that he didn't care about all the innocent people in King's Landing, when we all know it was his concern for the people of King's Landing that made him become a Kingslayer in the first place and take out Aerys Targaryen. At least they did remember the caches of wildfire hidden throughout the city.
Sansa seemed to be the only character with a fully realized story arc, and I'm glad she retains control of the North. Had to hurt Yara Greyjoy, though, to find out that an independent country was not an option for her. But King Bran? Seriously? The most utterly useless character in all of Westeros who'd rather be flying around like a bird all day anyway. They should have given it to Gendry; I mean, it was his smithing skillz that played a major part in defeating the White Walkers.
Someone please explain how the Iron Fleet was able to ambush Dany and her dragons when they were flying in the air over open water? Killing Rhaegal was just unnecessary. i guess they needed it to show that Dany had lost two of her children, Ser Jorah, Missandei, and then Jon didn't want to sleep with her anymore so that was what pushed her over the edge. And then finally the next day Drogon remembers that he can fly around the fleet and get behind them faster than they can turn the scorpions and thus burn all their boats up.
I adore Bronn! Always have, always will. The tiff between him and Ser Davos over rebuilding boats or brothels was great!
And at least Ghost finally got pets from Jon when he returned to the North. Even when this show was disappointing, it was still better than most shows out there. And the King's Landing battle scenes were beautifully filmed.

Aw someone here loves Bronn as well! <3 Actually just wanted to add a friend's line that had cracked me up: "Well, the Iron Throne got melted, so of course they gave the King title to someone who has his own chair to sit in..." XDDD
