For those of you who don’t know...
Before this forum, we resided on abclost and I wrote fanfic’s there. I decided to bring a few over here. This was a gift for my two favorite ladies, Kristi and Heidi! Enjoy and please let me know what you think.
This is based on the old RPG over on abclost forum. I wrote this before I saw the show, so this is not canon!
Note: A few things have been changed, some wording and grammar. I couldn’t bring myself to repost without doing so lol
“Stranded on an island, it's been a whole year, maybe the rescue will come sometimes next year…” Sarah hummed along to her little song as she skipped along the beach, it was early morning and Heidi was fast asleep. She had been out late with Cyrus and Sarah couldn’t wait to tease her about it. Everyone was like a family now and she felt like she had a bunch of aunts and uncles. She missed her family back home but this place was starting to grow on her. No one was coming for them and she had to accept it- everyone did.
Reaching her sandcastle, she smiled at her coconut made guard, saluted, and entered inside. The tarp used for her roof had been confiscated, the camp needed it so she gave it them for a price. She asked to go on the next adventure and Jack agreed, but she knew he wouldn’t let her go.
After a while she could hear footsteps coming towards the castle, she figured it was Heidi. So, she got ready to jump up and yell boo, “Ethan you bumbling idiot, we're close to our cover being blown.” Cyrus? What did he mean by covering being blown?
“Don’t get your pants in a knot, within a week everything will go as planned.”
“You better hope,” They talked about this guy named Ben and how they lived on the other side of the island. Sarah felt her heart race as she listened to them talk, trying to remember everything. She was now undercover and she had to be very still or they would see her. She wondered if they were serious? Did they belong to another civilization on the island? Sarah was about to sneak away when she heard Ethan mention Heidi’s name, she paused to listen.
“So, what about the apple of your eye, Ms. Rittner?”
“What about her?”
“What are we going to do with her?
“What are we going to do with, Gwen?” Cyrus countered.
“We get them out of here before the others come, keep them safe. Deal?”
“Deal,” Sarah had tears in her eyes, something was going to happen to her family! She couldn’t let that happen, she needed to get help. When they entered the jungle she waited a minute before she ran off to tell the one person she trusted, Heidi. When she reached camp she looked all around, spotting Heidi talking with Gwen.
“Heidi!” Sarah’s eyes were blurry with tears, “Something bad!”
“What happened or what did you do?” Heidi knelt down next to Sarah, giving her the look.
“Why do you always think I’ve done something wrong?”
“Because you usually get yourself into trouble, now what’s going on?” Heidi reached over to wipe away some tears.
“Something neither of you will like.” Sarah knew this was going to crush both of them but she couldn’t let the bad happen.
“Just tell us, honey.”
“I heard Ethan and Cyrus talking, they’re the bad guys. They’ve been talking about a list and how they gave it to this guy.” she looked up at Gwen, “They said they didn’t want to hurt you, they talked about sparing you or something.” Sarah was taken back by the anger on Gwen and Heidi’s face, but she knew they were mostly hurting. This was the first time that Sarah had seen Heidi truly angry and she felt bad, “I’m sorry,” She lowered her head.
“We have to tell others,” Heidi got back onto her feet and placed a hand on Gwen’s shoulder. “They’ll know what to do.”
“No time.” Gwen wanted this little misunderstanding over with. She wasn’t sure if Sarah was playing one of her games but she would find out.
“Gwen, we can’t fight them by ourselves.” Heidi could feel her heart beating faster, she hoped this was one of Sarah’s games but it was a lose-lose either way. She followed after Gwen, who was heading right for the jungle.
“Go get help,” Gwen’s words were cold, hurtful, and it made Heidi flinch. “I’ll stall them,” Gwen picked up a branch, “Then I'm going to beat, Mr. Rom until he bleeds.” Heidi didn’t want to leave Gwen on her own, what if she got hurt?
“Gwen, wait!” Heidi turned to Sarah and looked her right in the eyes. “Sarah, go tell the others. I’m going to stay with Gwen,” Sarah shook her head, she couldn’t let them go.
“You can’t go, please, you’ll both be hurt!” Sarah should have just told Jack, now Heidi and Gwen would be hurt!
“Sarah, don’t argue. Now, tell us where Ethan and Cyrus are?” Heidi asked with a stern look.
“Not until you go get help.”
“Sarah, tell me or I’ll steal Mr. Flopper and toss him into a tree.” Gwen wasn’t kidding either, she had no time for games. “Sarah, now.”
“Okay, no need to be a big bully.” Sarah knew this was a huge mistake but she couldn’t let Mr. Floppers get hurt. “But you have to be careful, promise?”
“We will,” Heidi said quickly.
“In the Jungle, near my sandcastle.”
“Thank you, sweetie, now go get help.” Sarah nodded and watched as Gwen and Heidi took off, Sarah had a bad feeling about this.
“Are you sure about this, Gwen?” They stood just outside the jungle, unsure about going in alone.
“Yes,” and they both walked into the tree.
“Cyrus,” Heidi called out with a half smile, trying to play it cool. She needed to drag this on, give Sarah enough time to tell Jack. “Ethan,” She could see Gwen holding onto that branch, ready to swing.
“Hey there Darlin’ what a surprise?” Heidi kept her smile, even though she was scared to death. She had been dating a traitor.
“Oh, I just missed you is all,” With a smile, she leaned in and kissed him and for the first time, she didn’t enjoy it. This man could be a traitor, he might have been the cause of all the problems. “What are you boys doing in here, playing hunter's?” Heidi relaxed just a bit, trying to keep herself at ease but Gwen, her body language read predator. She had been through so much this last year, she let someone in and now he betrayed her.
“More like explorer’s,” Ethan’s attention was drawn to Gwen’s knuckles, hands were grasping around the branch hard, she looked ready to pop. Something was wrong, he could see it.
“People have gone missing in here, it’s dangerous to go wandering off.” Gwen gave her best smile she could come up with. She watched as Ethan watched her, he looked concerned.
“You seem on edge, Gwen, you that worried about little old me?” Heidi moved to Gwen’s side, placing a hand on her shoulder.
“Easy,” Heidi whispered.
“No, I’m worried about lil old us,” Gwen knew she was dancing close to trouble but she couldn’t pretend, she was just too angry.
“You’re safe as safe can be,” Cyrus pushed himself free from the tree he was leaning against. “What gave you the idea you ain’t?”
“Just worried,” Gwen took a look around, wanting to make sure no one else would come for them. “We have something to ask you,” She couldn’t wait anymore, she needed to know.
“Not yet, please,” Heidi whispered, she had no weapon to protect herself. “Now is not the time.”
“Now is a perfect time,” She locked eyes with Ethan, “I need you to be honest with me, can you do that?”
Ethan nodded his head.
“Who are you?” Heidi was coming nervous all over again, they were in so much danger right now.
“Well, this is Cyrus and I’m Ethan, you already know that. What is this all about, Gwen?”
“Someone overheard your conversation,” Gwen continued on, “You were never on the plane with us, were you?”
“Cyrus?” Heidi felt sick to her stomach, she waited for his answer.
“We’re not the bad guys here, we had a job.” Ethan watched as Gwen raised her branch, she was ready to strike, “We could never hurt you, either of you.”
“Cy, please tell me your--” Cyrus cut Heidi off, quickly.
“Life's a funny thing darlin’, just followin’ orders.”
“We would never let anything happen to you, you can trust us.”
Ethan added.
“Trust,” Gwen was having an inward battle right now, how could she trust them? “How could you do this to me, how-”
“I never expected to fall for you, Gwen, but I did.” Ethan moved a little closer but not close enough to get hit. “We don’t want you hurt any of you, but Ben-”
“Come back to the beach with us, let Jack and the others help.” Heidi chimed in, hoping to stall just a bit longer. “We’ll make sure nothing happens to you.”
“I’ve seen how your friends operate, sweetie. I rather not spend the rest of my days in a pit,” Cyrus shook his head with a smile, “Plus, our boss will kill us, literally. Now, the best thing for all of us is to move on. You’ll be coming with us instead,” Cyrus moved in a bit closer.
“We’re not going anywhere, we’re going back to the beach. Let’s go,” Ethan just smiled that smile and shook his head. "Don't make me hurt you, Ethan." Ethan pretended to charge forward and Gwen swung, giving Ethan the real opening he needed to take hold of her. This distracted Heidi long enough for Cyrus to grab her, "I trusted you!" Gwen yelled, trying hard to break free but Ethan was so strong.
“Gwen, it’s all going to be okay, just sing.” Gwen was confused for a second but caught on, the boys were confused until the first hit. Solar plexus, instep, nose, and groin. The self-defense taught by Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality, “Thank you, Sandra.” With both men on the ground, they had time to escape, but Gwen went back for her stick and hit Ethan with it a couple times. “Gwen, we don’t have time for this. Let’s go,” Heidi didn't make it far before Cyrus grabbed hold of her.
“I don’t think so,” Cyrus struggled through the pain, “This time keep that pretty voice to yourself, Heidi darlin’. “Ethan, you okay?” Cyrus was amused, the girls had such a fire.
"Never better," He groaned.
"Gwen, just go!" Heidi yelled but Gwen didn't budge, she wasn't going to leave her friend behind.
"Nonsense, I won't be leaving you behind." Gwen swung at Ethan again, and again he dodged her attack. "Let her go, Cyrus."
"I didn't know you had this much fire, Ms. Havers, truly I'm impressed," Ethan smirked and moved closer, catching the branch in his hand this time. "One hell of a woman, Gwendolyn." she tried to yank the branch from his hand, and after a couple tries he let go and Gwen slammed the branch into her own head.
"Gwen!" Heidi could see the hurt on Ethan's face, he was upset about this. She was just so confused right now, how could he do this and feel sorry?
“This gave me no joy, I didn’t want it this way.” Ethan tied Gwen’s hands and feet with vines, Cyrus did the same to Heidi’s hands. “We need to get out of here, people are going to come looking.”
“Sing, clever trick. Not sure where it’s from, don’t get off island these days.” He cupped Heidi’s chin and sighed, “I’m sorry, darlin’, truly.” He lifted Heidi up onto her feet and led the way, “Let’s go.”
