"So what were you lot doing in the middle of the jungle anyways?"
"Well English came to me and wanted some help with heavy lifting and in exchange for my services she would give me those inhumanely small bottles of vodka. Then she had a panic attack because she couldn't find Heidi so I went along. We stumbled across Sulley creeping through the woods and then we found you in a hole."
'Wow, she must feel like shit that we didn't notice she was missing too.' crossed Stu's mind in a rare occurrence of empathy.
"I thought you were still with your brother, it's why I left you to it when we dug him out. Figured you'd want some time together. If I had of known you'd go all Tomb Raider in the Jungle I would have stuck around for the fun."

"I thought you were still with your brother, it's why I left you to it when we dug him out. Figured you'd want some time together. If I had of known you'd go all Tomb Raider in the Jungle I would have stuck around for the fun."
Linda nodded in understanding as she walked along side of Stu, "I totally get it. No big deal," putting on a brave face she peered down at her steps as she hopped over a couple of medium sized boulders on their path. It was generous of Stu to have thought of sticking around for her, but she was also glad she got some space at the same time as yesterday was an incredibly exhausting day. She couldn't even think about holding a conversation with Charlie last night, but she hoped that her head was more clear by the time she reached her brother. Whenever they crossed paths next that was.
As they walked, Linda looked back over at Stu to notice his arm was caked in fresh blood. "Stu..." Linda motioned to his bloody, dirty arm. He seemed to have obtained a wound, possibly from the other day from helping dig out Jack and Charlie, and it appeared to have possibly opened up while exerting himself trying to save Linda and Heidi. Did he not notice? Linda winced as it looked really painful, yet Stu strode along like it was a cat scratch. Her eyes darted to a nearby flowing stream of water, and then back to Stu. Shaking her head, Linda grinned as she motioned Stu to follow her over to the stream, "Alright Rocky, let's clean that battle wound of yours," Linda hoped that Stu wasn't too prideful to at least let her take care of his arm since he didn't seem to care or notice. Linda didn't usually do this for most people she had just met, guess Stu was one of the lucky ones.

She gave him the eyes and indicated to the little stream of water nearby.
"Skinny dipping, here? Now? In there?"
"Alright Rocky, let's clean that battle wound of yours,"
"That makes more sense, wait I have wound?"
Stu inspected his body and sure enough there was body here and there mixed in with and under the dirt and sweat from the last couple of days work; so much for a tropical vacation. Stu followed Linda to the stream.
"It's fine, I didn't even notice, I have had much worse."
It was weird when people tried to look after him in some capacity, it scared Stu and was something he wasn't overly used to without a catch.
"But I mean if you wanna rock that nurses outfit I have no objects" Stu said with a wink and made out like he was checking out what she would look like in a nurses outfit.

"But I mean if you wanna rock that nurses outfit I have no objects"
Crouching over the stream, Linda let out a brief nasally chuckle as she embraced her natural eye roll. Stu's sexist humor was typical to Linda as she had grown up in a household of obnoxious boys, and didn't think too much on it. "Alright, c'mon over. Let's see the damage," Linda placed one palm under Stu's injured arm for support as she dipped the other hand unto the cool water. Scooping the liquid, Linda gently poured it over Stu's wound. She continued to do this a couple of times over, the fresh blood washed away and into the stream.
"Does it hurt much, at all?" Linda asked out of concern as she watched Stu's face to see of his expression would wince at all, as the cut looked pretty awful.

"Does it hurt much, at all?"
Stu raised an eyebrow as he looked down at Linda as she cleaned his wound.
"I take a beating for a living so..."
Plus the years of substance abuse helped kill almost all but the most fun of feelings, is what he wanted to add.
"But thanks."
Her touch was gentle he could tell she was trying not to aggravate the injury.
"Besides, I have vodka!" Stu said happily while using his free hand to wrestle the tiny Vodka bottle out of his pocket.

"I take a beating for a living so...""But thanks."
Linda nodded as she tended to his open wound to the best of her ability. She knew that Stu was a strong individual on the outside as well as in. She had a feeling he had experienced more in his young life than he cared to admit, Linda knew that all too well. Developing a tough outer shell can come in handy for whatever life throws down. Only Linda's experiences that formed her outer shell had caused herself to put up walls between her and everyone she had encountered here on this island, her own brother included. That was, until she encountered someone similar to herself. And it freaked the shit out of her.
"Besides, I have vodka!"
Linda peered over to the tiny bottle Stu flashed in his hands gleefully. Someone that never ceased to find the silver lining, they all definitely needed that kind of thinking more often around this place. "Well I hate to break up the party so early on," Linda said as she pulled out a rag from her back pocket that so happened to be just fit around Stu's arm, "But with your arm like this, probably not a good idea to be out in the jungle for much longer. I'm no specialist on these kind of things but you might want to pay Jack a visit before it opens up again," Linda tied the rag into a knot over Stu's wound, it looked better but the cut seemed fairly deep. She hoped it would hold until they got back to the beach, " I don't think it's much farther now, ten minutes more maybe," Linda commented as she stood up from the stream, gazing off into the direction in which they needed to head.

" I don't think it's much farther now, ten minutes more maybe,"
Her gaze shifted from Stu to the direction of the beach and where the rest of the survivors would be. Stu flexed the muscles around the rag Linda had tied on his arm.
"Only 10? Awww and what on earth will I ever do without your delightful company after that?"

"Only 10? Awww and what on earth will I ever do without your delightful company after that?"
" I'm sure the cable guy will serve as good company until I need your help getting out of another hole," Linda lit up with a joking grin as she peered back at Stu. "Well, shall we? I think I've had enough jungle for one day," Linda sighed as she was relieved that they were almost back to the beach, but her gut was telling her she would have to most likely confront her brother sooner than later about the events from the previous day.

"Well, shall we? I think I've had enough jungle for one day,"
Stu opened his arm in a ladies first gesture.
"I hate to see you leave, but I do love to watch you walk away." he couldn't hide his grin as the two made their way back to the beach.

The firewood had been running low again. Several large signal fires going all night long tended to go through the supply quickly. Not sure where the axe had disappeared to, she'd grabbed one of the sharpened pieces of metal wreckage and headed into the tree line.
She had a few decent branches piled already and was working on sawing through another that had grown lower down on a tree, about knee level. Keeping herself busy was supposed to be a distraction, but she found her mind constantly wandering between Jack and Sawyer. With a grunt of frustration, Kate dropped the makeshift axe on the ground and gave the mostly sawed-through limb a good couple of kicks. It finally broke free, giving her another piece of firewood along with the satisfaction of working out some of her frustration.

"Whoa, what'd that tree ever do to you?" Gabe asked, partly as a way of announcing his presence as he stepped from the trees and found Kate abusing the arbors. "Steal your boyfriend, key your car?" Apparently, she had also noticed the level of fuel for the signal fires getting low and went out to gather more wood. "Maybe not the best idea to be out here by yourself," he suggested, handing over a bottle of water from his backpack. "Mind if I join you?"

"Whoa, what'd that tree ever do to you?" "Steal your boyfriend, key your car?"
Kate picked up the branch she'd kicked free and turned with a grin of amusement and greeting. "It looked at me funny," she said, dropping the branch onto the pile.
"Maybe not the best idea to be out here by yourself,"
Used to being on her own and having faced the real scary stuff deeper in the jungle, Kate easily shrugged off the first part with a nonchalant, "It's not that far from camp," as she took the offered water bottle. "Thanks," she said before taking several gulps. She took note that he'd brought his own axe, obviously out here with the same intent.
"Mind if I join you?"
Kate looked at the pile she'd managed so far. Meager compared to what they needed even for a single night. It would take more than one person to fill the supply. "Sure. Seems everyone else has lost interest," Kate noted, reaching down and retrieving her own makeshift axe partially obstructed in the vine covered ground. She took another swig of water then capped the bottle and placed it on the ground. Kate put on a serious expression and pointed with her own axe toward the tree next to the one she'd been working on that still sported low enough branches. "That one there was bad mouthing you. I was gonna get to it next but now that you're here, you can defend your own honor."

"That one there was bad mouthing you. I was gonna get to it next but now that you're here, you can defend your own honor."
"What?!" Gabe exclaimed in mock disdain. "That smug, bark-covered bastard! Must have been talkin' to my ex-wife." Gabe began taking swings at the branches, finding his makeshift axe hardly adequate to cut through them. Oh well, it would just take time and patience. And what else did he really have to do today?
"Funny thing is...she probably won't even miss me," he remarked between swings. "At least not until the alimony checks stop comin'." He laughed with a tinge of bitterness. It didn't seem like that many hours since he'd left Sydney resolved to win Amanda back and heal the rifts in their family. Now he wasn't sure if all this extra time away would make it easier or harder to make that happen.
"What about you?" Gabe asked of Kate. "Anyone waiting back at baggage claim?"

Kate chuckled as she got to work on another branch. "The lengths we go to to stick it to an ex," she said with a quick gesture of their surroundings with the axe before continuing chopping away.
"What about you?" Gabe asked of Kate. "Anyone waiting back at baggage claim?"
"Nah." Kate shrugged, keeping her tone light and easy, sounding unbothered by what she revealed. "I've been on my own for awhile. It's gotta be nice though, having someone here you know." She spared him a glance as she dropped the freed branch onto the pile.
Since the lower reaching branches were running sparse, Kate decided to make use of her tree climbing skills and leave the ground level branches to others. She rested her axe against the tree and using the nubs of branches that had been cut away, she was up the tree with ease and lying on her belly across a thick branch quick as a monkey.
"Hand me the axe?" she asked, skooching further out on the branch before continuing on her previous topic. "So did you and Sayid become army bros and decide to take a trip together or were you guys on some secret mission saving the world?" she joked.
She didn't recall them acting too chummy, hadn't even realized the two had known each other. But then again, she'd always been coming and going from camp and her attention was mostly annoyingly drawn to two individuals. She thought that maybe if she learned more about Sayid, she'd worry less.

"Hand me the axe? ... So did you and Sayid become army bros and decide to take a trip together or were you guys on some secret mission saving the world?"
"Heh, no, no secret missions," Gabe replied with a chuckle as he handed her the requested axe. "Sayid and I aren't buddies, either. We were actually on opposite sides during the Iraq War. But times change, political interests realign, and suddenly we were all fighting a common enemy."
He tossed a few more branches onto the pile before continuing, carefully choosing his words. Kate already knew now that his story the previous night by the fireside had been a fiction, which would cast suspicion on everything he said afterward. "When I went back to Iraq as a contractor, Sayid was a vital part of our missions against the insurgency. Mostly 'cause some of his old friends were the insurgents," Gabe explained. And it was a version of the truth, just with the locations changed.

"Heh, no, no secret missions,"
Kate took the axe from him with a quick 'thanks' to avoid distracting him too much from the tracks he was choosing to run his train of thought on. Something about the whole Gabe/Sayid thing just wouldn't settle in her mind as neatly as Gabe tried to brush it off. She listened carefully for variations from the night before, having asked the same thing, ready to claim she'd forgotten due to the crazy coincidence of it all. But that crazy coincidence was probably the reason it kept nagging at her.
Kate angled herself and started to saw at the branches along the thick tree limb she laid across. She pretended to be casually listening while absorbed in the work when in truth, she was absorbed in both.
"Sayid and I aren't buddies, either. We were actually on opposite sides during the Iraq War. But times change, political interests realign, and suddenly we were all fighting a common enemy."
She already knew that Sayid had been in the Republican Guard, but he'd never acted as if he was regretful and he never made excuses. Truthfully, he didn't talk much about it at all but the way Hurley told it, Sayid had flat out looked him in the eye and told him when asked without remorse and with an intense seriousness that left the other person not daring to react or judge. That didn't exactly sound to her like someone who'd realigned his interests.
"When I went back to Iraq as a contractor, Sayid was a vital part of our missions against the insurgency. Mostly 'cause some of his old friends were the insurgents,"
That definitely got her attention. Information was starting to align with one of the theories she'd been tossing around. "Old friends, huh? That's convenient," she said, the branch she'd been working on cutting free and falling to the ground near the couple others she'd sawed free while Gabe had been talking. Kate took a break to give Gabe her full attention, her shoulders and back needing the rest from the odd angle she had to saw in. "It's not very common for people to realign their political interests," she said, resting the axe along the branch, her arm over it, and her chin resting on her arm. She'd had many conversations over the years with the man she thought of as her father and she might have been unknowingly showing a connection to that world with her insight. "On the other hand, being persuaded to realign your interests..." she trailed off, seeing how he'd decide to pick up where she'd left off.

"Old friends, huh? That's convenient. It's not very common for people to realign their political interests. On the other hand, being persuaded to realign your interests..."
"You implying that I could persuade Sayid? Have you met the guy?" Gabe scoffed, continuing in his own tree-sawing task. He figured Kate had phrased it as an open-ended question, trying to get to the root of the relationship between the two men. And in truth, there was persuasion involved to get Sayid's cooperation with the CIA, but Gabe hadn't been directly involved in its origination or its execution.
"Politics makes strange bedfellows," he explained, in a suitably vague way. "After Hussein fell, you had Sunni, Shia, Kurds, not to mention the Iranians, all jockeying for their piece of what we figured would end up a failed state. And when you’re trying to impose order on chaos, you’ll take hold of any helping hand. You know the saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Gabe paused and took a drink from his water bottle, mentally fast-forwarding to the recent days in Australia and his explanation for them. "To be honest, I was just as shocked as Sayid to see him at that departure gate," he advised. "I was in Sydney for a counterterrorism conference with ASIS. He was there visiting an old college friend. Said he'd left Iraq seven years earlier, and that he was looking for a woman.” He knew Kate had spent a lot of time working together with Sayid but doubted that the Iraqi had mentioned his precious Nadia. Perhaps Kate would pick up on the romantic thread and follow it away from Gabe himself.

Kate pushed herself to a sitting position, straddling the tree branch and starting to saw at branches lower on the limb. There was no doubt Gabe was a military man. He sounded a lot like her father at the moment, who'd had had a great way of distracting people away from questions he couldn't or didn't want to answer by breaking out a trove of facts made public he could talk about. "Mm hm," was all she'd contributed to show she was listening despite not adding anything of her own. There was a trace of suspicious curiosity in what was more of a noise rather than words because she'd been wondering if Gabe was using the same tactic of distraction.
Whatever he made of her small contribution, at least he'd gotten back to Sayid.
"To be honest, I was just as shocked as Sayid to see him at that departure gate," "I was in Sydney for a counterterrorism conference with ASIS. He was there visiting an old college friend. Said he'd left Iraq seven years earlier, and that he was looking for a woman.”
"Ahh," she said as if she'd just learned she'd been right about something. She paused to look down at Gabe when a puzzle piece of another curiosity fit into place with that revelation. "That explains the picture I've seen him get lost in on occasion. Someone gets absorbed in a picture like that, it's gotta be of someone important." 'Someone close to their heart,' was what she'd truly meant but that was more mushy than she was used to expressing out loud, especially with her present conversational partner.
It suddenly popped into her memory that she'd walked in on Jack to find him absorbed in her picture, but they'd hardly known each other so she brushed it off as him trying to figure out what she'd done to have ended up in that mugshot. Wanting to redirect her mind from those thoughts, she circled back again to Sayid in what was seeming to be a never ending game of topic tetherball between herself and Gabe.
She started sawing away again at a branch. "And I wasn't implying that you personally persuaded Sayid; only that there was a possibility he'd been persuaded. I mean, you haven't exactly been able to persuade me away from feeling like I'm missing something." Kate smirked at him good naturedly, showing that she meant all of this in fun. "But hey," she followed up without leaving a lull that may have suggested she expected an answer. Kate paused her sawing to hold up her hands in surrender. "We all have our secrets, and our reasons for not sharing, so I'll stop pressing it." It was also a possibility she was overthinking it in her strive to keep her mind busy. Continuing sawing again, she added as a sort of apology, "We're all just looking for a way to distract our minds with something other than the reality of our situation."

"But hey, we all have our secrets, and our reasons for not sharing, so I'll stop pressing it. We're all just looking for a way to distract our minds with something other than the reality of our situation."
"Yeah, that's true," Gabe agreed, tossing a few more branches onto the pile. He could tell that despite Kate's words and gesture of indifference, that this topic would probably come up again. Sayid was welcome to tell her whatever he wanted, when he returned, but Gabe wasn't about to out an asset. He wouldn't be very good at his job if he did.
"Speaking of, did we ever solve the mystery of who those handcuffs belonged to?" he wondered. "Now most people might think it was a man. But in the interests of equal opportunity, it could just as easily have been a woman in those cuffs. A US Marshal escorting someone all the way from Australia to the US? It would have to be something pretty serious to warrant international extradition. And whoever it was, would have a pretty vested interest in not getting rescued. Someone like our bald hunting friend.”

"Speaking of, did we ever solve the mystery of who those handcuffs belonged to?"
Caught off guard by the question out of left field that struck too uncomfortably close to home, Kate's saw slipped from the notch she'd started in the current branch. Without missing a beat, she'd realigned and continued as if it were just one of those common slips that had led to the lesson of always sawing away from yourself.
"Pretty sure the solving of that mystery would have spread around the camp in minutes," she said in past tense as if the importance of that mystery had expired. "With everything else going on, I think we all kind of forgot about that." But apparently not everyone had forgotten about it, as she'd hoped.
Kate stopped sawing to look at Gabe, partial amusement and feigned interest in the topic. "Locke?" She chuckled. "He's pretty intense with his whole hunting thing..." she looked contemplative again. "But I don't picture him as the law-breaker type. Even with the suitcase of knives." Kate started sawing again, looking contemplative.
Gabe's interest in the topic was a bit too heightened in the moment and her trying to change it might be suspicious. She wanted to deflect but she didn't want to throw anyone under the bus, so she left it up to him to form any allegations. "This is probably more your area of expertise. Anyone seem off to you? On an international level?" she stressed as they did have their fair share of assholes, odd ducks, and loners, all of which could fall into the 'off' category.
If only people knew the lengths the Marshal had gone to. The knowledge that it was an international extradition might be enough to make people assume the crime was far worse than what she'd done in the name of freeing her mother, and herself, from an abusive monster. Surprisingly, Kate found a reason to be thankful that Edward Mars had gone far above and beyond in his drive to catch her. He'd turned it into an obsession, made it far more personal than it should have been and, quite frankly, he'd creeped her the hell out at times.

"Locke? He's pretty intense with his whole hunting thing...But I don't picture him as the law-breaker type. Even with the suitcase of knives. ... This is probably more your area of expertise. Anyone seem off to you? On an international level?"
"Eh, you're probably right," Gabe nodded in agreement after some consideration. "For all its faults, I don't think Oceanic would let a felon check their bag full of sharp objects." He kicked at a partially-sawed branch, freeing it from the tree trunk, and then started on the next one up. "I mean, it's not exactly a top of mind threat. No real crimes have been committed since the crash, right? Apart from a couple fights. Several larcenies. Minor vandalism. Okay, forget what I said -- everyone's a suspect!"
He finished sawing the current branch and once it was free, he gathered the loose limbs and added them to the existing pile. "We know it wasn't me, and I can vouch for it not being Sayid. It wasn't Jack, since he didn't even know the marshal, and neither did Sawyer from what I can tell. And you," he said, pointing a finger at her up in the trees, "You've put your hand up first for every jaunt into the jungle to get us rescued, so pretty sure it wasn't you."
He casually rubbed at the stubble forming along his chin. "Michael's got a kid, the Korean couple are married, Boone and Shannon ... well, they've got their own issues. Charlie and Linda, Heidi, Sarah, Claire, Hurley, the pop singer, the science teacher, the frozen yogurt guy. I guess it could be Scott?" he concluded after his mental inventory of the survivors. "Or maybe Steve?"

She got a chuckle out of his comment of everyone being a suspect. It was true that they had quite a collection of suspectable people. Definitely something that worked in her favor.
"We know it wasn't me, and I can vouch for it not being Sayid. It wasn't Jack, since he didn't even know the marshal, and neither did Sawyer from what I can tell. And you,"
Kate paused to look at him pointing up at her, a surprised, yet amused, 'who, me?' look on her face despite the fact of even mentioning her name in connection to the marshal, jokingly or not, to her benefit or not, sent a jolt through her chest.
"You've put your hand up first for every jaunt into the jungle to get us rescued, so pretty sure it wasn't you."
She simply grinned as if amused by the thought of being a felon and continued her sawing. Turned out her need to keep herself distracted and her inability to stand still had its benefits. But those weren't the only reasons she went. Kate had always had the pull to help others. It was the times she tried to help herself or do something she really wanted that always seemed to backfire.
"Michael's got a kid, the Korean couple are married, Boone and Shannon ... well, they've got their own issues. Charlie and Linda, Heidi, Sarah, Claire, Hurley, the pop singer, the science teacher, the frozen yogurt guy. I guess it could be Scott?" "Or maybe Steve?"
"Yah, I'd cross all of them off my list, too," she said on a sigh. Kate shrugged and planted a thought that wouldn't shine suspicion on anyone. "Maybe whoever it was didn't make it."
The last branch on the limb she sat on fell free and with an advanced warning of "Head's up," she dropped her saw to the ground then effortlessly shimmied herself to the side, hanging a moment from the limb before dropping the few feet to the soft jungle floor.
"Am I the only one," she began, changing the subject as she brushed tree particles from her clothes, "who can't keep straight which one's Steve and which one's Scott?"

"Yah, I'd cross all of them off my list, too. Maybe whoever it was didn't make it."
"Yeah, maybe," Gabe agreed with a sigh. "Seems like a lot of trouble to remove handcuffs from a corpse, though. The way Sawyer talked, he found them out in the jungle after the crash. They likely took the key off the marshal. Granted, this is Sawyer we're talking about, so take it with a grain of salt."
He watched to make sure that Kate was out of the tree safely and then began bundling branches, tying them together with what had been their seatbelts on the plane.
"Am I the only one who can't keep straight which one's Steve and which one's Scott?"
Gabe chuckled lightly. "Heh, no," he admitted. "it's gonna' take a little more in-depth analysis on my part before I come to a definitive conclusion. But I think Scott is the taller one." He shouldered his backpack as well as a bundle of the firewood. "You ready to head back?" he asked.

Gabe had come more prepared. Smart to use the seatbelts as binding. She'd have to remember that for next time. Probably easier and more secure than using the vines she'd just pulled free from the jungle ground.
Arm looped around her bundle, she rose to her feet and faced Gabe. "Ready," she answered and they started wandering back toward the camp. "Wait, one of them's taller?" she belated threw out, half joking, half serious. "I think I'm starting to develop a weird fixation on solving this mystery. Now, do I embrace it, or do I try to find a more constructive use of my time on the island?" she mused aloud.

"Uh, yeah, Scott is totally taller," Gabe proclaimed. "Which means he's on my team if we ever find a volleyball and a net."
He held aside a cluster of palm fronts to allow Kate to walk through. "I wouldn't waste too much time on it, though," he asserted. "In fact, I've been meaning to talk to you about your lack of productivity. You should really pitch in and do more around the camp, Kate. Everybody agrees."

Holding the open bag, Jack gathered some low bearing fruit that he managed to retrieve in his reach. This change in pace with like a breath of fresh air for the doctor, and there was no one he would rather be enjoying this quiet moment of solace with other than Kate. He took a few steps in the direction where Kate was avidly working away in a nearby tree to collect some fresh picks from above. Peering upwards, Jack squinted through the sun rays that poked through the tree leaves and placed a shielding hand up to his forehead as he smiled upwards, "Any luck up there?" Jack asked Kate. She seemed to have a good knack for climbing and getting her hands dirty, and he loved her enthusiastic spirit.

Kate was happy and pretty much at home high up on a tree perch. She'd laid down on her belly and carefully scooted herself further out on a limb, finding a nice batch of fruit within her reach. "Sure am!" she said, glancing down with a smile.
Her task of picking fruit was usually a solitary one, quiet and reflective. She was enjoying this change-up, still with small silences, but they were companionable and between little conversations and smiles. It was easy to forget their situation, despite the fact that they were gathering the food they needed to live off of.
Kate pulled one of the mangos free, looking down once again. "Head's up," she said, waiting until she got Jack's attention before dropping the fruit down for him to catch. She grinned as he easily caught it and placed it in the bag, looking back up expectantly. She grinned back down, letting another fall into his hands. "I've heard that you fancy city folk consider it a fun activity to drive out to farms and pay money to pick fruit," she playfully teased, dropping another mango down to him. "You ever do that?"

"Head's up,"
Jack kept his gaze upwards, expecting Kate to toss down her collection. Within moments, Kate allowed the fruit to fall from her hands. With ease, Jack caught it and rolled the fruit into the open bag. He moved his sight quickly from the bag upwards once more waiting for the next drop.
"I've heard that you fancy city folk consider it a fun activity to drive out to farms and pay money to pick fruit," "You ever do that?"
"Can't say that I have, but now I feel like I'm getting the full experience," Jack replied with a cheeky smile, catching the mango and placed it into the bag, "I dated a farm girl once though, brought me home a few times. I can confirm that I did not get used to the smell...or the 5am rooster's crow," He chuckled lightly, letting her in on a minor fragment of his life. Things seemed so simple then. Now, instead of working around the clock and trying to maintain any kind of relationship, he was striving to survive - and helping others to achieve the same. "You think this will hold us over?" Jack asked Kate, holding the bag open that appeared to be nearly full.
