Area of Survivor's CampThe other, less populated area that survivors have set up camp. Outside areas not taking place inside survivors' tents or shelters.Location found in box G3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

Clouds form and move in over the island. The sound of
thunder grows louder and it suddenly begins pouring heavy rain.
People everywhere are running for cover.

Suddenly, the trees near the beach start to move as if
something is working it's way along the treeline. It's the
same thing that was making the loud noises and knocking
down trees last night only this time, it is eerily silent.

The heavy rain and thunder stops just as abruptly as it had
begun. The clouds part and the warm sunshine has returned.

SHANNON (temp-play by Kristi Lynne)
She returned to the spot of beach where she'd been sunbathing earlier, and spoken briefly to the pregnant girl. Removing the shirt from over her bikini top, she laid out a piece of fabric over the now dry and hot sand, and laid down on her stomach. She folded her arms in front of her and rested her chin there, watching the waves crash and to see if anything would appear on the horizon.

BOONE (temp-play by Hollywood Heidi)
Boone had been trying to be helpful since waking up that morning. He kept an eye on the man with the shrapnel in his side while Jack was gone, helped some of the other injured, helped people with some of the shelters that people were starting to put up... whatever he could do to keep busy. He periodically looked for Shannon to see what she was up to, a habit he'd developed over the years because she had the habit of self destruction. There was also the fact that he'd been in love with her for years and what had happened between them the night before the flight only complicated matters.
He saw her talking to a man at one point and after determining that she wasn't already trying to start up something new with yet another man, one much older than herself, he returned his attention back to helping people. Now, he searched the beach again and saw her lying on the beach, sunbathing. You've got to be kidding, he thought. Everyone who wasn't injured was doing something constructive and she was acting as if they were on vacation. He made his way over, blocking her sun.
"Hey. We're going through some clothes. Sorting them. I see you found your bag. Come on, you want to give us a hand?"

The sudden shade caused her to look up, even though she could have recognized the condescending voice without looking. "Not really," she replied, closing her eyes again. "And you're wasting your time. Rescue boats are coming."

BOONE (temp-play by Hollywood Heidi)
He knew when she was stubbornly set on her decision and he wasn't in the mood to fight with her when he was still fighting with his own feelings for her. His main concern was what the other survivors would think of her as they all pitched in and helped each other. Screw it. If she didn't care, why the hell should he? He scowled at her back and walked away.
CLAIRE
Claire had been wandering the beach and offering her help but it only distracted the other survivors and they always ended up stopping what they were doing and offering to help her. Feeling like more of a hindrance, she decided to relax for a bit before trying again to find something she'd be able to help with.
She overheard the short conversation of the man and woman and watched the man walk away before taking a seat on the sand near the woman. "Is that your boyfriend?"

She looked in the direction of the new voice to see the pregnant girl, unsure how to answer her question. What was it Mr. Darling said? It was 'complicated.' Still, it might seem that way to outsiders. "That's my brother, Boone," she answered. "God's friggin' gift to humanity."
She noticed the girl rubbing her swollen stomach with a concerned look. "Do you know what it is?" she inquired, in an effort at polite conversation.

CLAIRE (temp-play by Hollywood Heidi)
"Not yet," she said with a small smile. She glanced down at her belly, unsure if she should voice her concern to someone she'd just met but the need to talk about it won out. "I haven't felt the baby move since yesterday."

SHANNON (temp-play by Kristi Lynne)
She wasn't sure what was or wasn't normal about having a kid. Granted, they were only feet away from a crashed airplane. Normal was a matter of perspective. "It's probably nothing," she offered. "Things have been...stressful."
She raised up on her elbows to be able to face the girl more easily. "What about the father? Was he...on the plane?" she asked.

CLAIRE (temp-play by Hollywood Heidi)
"It's probably nothing," "Things have been...stressful."
"Yah," she said. "Jack... the doctor," she clarified, unsure who knew who at this point, "said it was probably the stress and not to worry." Worrying only led to more stress and she had a positive attitude as well as the fact that Jack was always checking to see how she was.
"What about the father? Was he...on the plane?"
"No. He decided several months ago that fatherhood wasn't for him." She said it lightly and added a small smile and dismissive wave of her hand so that the woman wouldn't think she was fishing for sympathy. She'd accepted the fact that Thomas was out of the picture.
"I'm Claire, by the way."

Hurley approached the two women and said hi to Claire first, since they'd been introduced right after the crash. "Any more...baby stuff?" he asked.
"No," Claire answered. "What was all that noise over there?"
"Nothin'. Chain-smokin' jackass runnin' his mouth. Anyway, they found that transceiver thingy," he informed them. "Sayid is trying to fix it. Dig this, he was in the Republican Guard."
"Did they find any other survivors?" Shannon interjected.
"No, I don't think so," Hurley said, shaking his head. "I'm gonna' go see if Jack needs any help. Bye."
Shannon sat up and pulled a shirt over her bikini top. "I think I need to get some shade now."

((I guess Shannon didn't walk too far away.)) (temp-play by Kristi Lynne)
SHANNON
She sat in the sand, her knees pulled up to her chest and her arms wrapped around them. Not even sure where the tears had come from when she'd seen the guy in the flight attendant uniform lying there dead. Maybe it was learning that everyone else in first class shared the same fate. Maybe it was only just now hitting her how bad their situation really was.
"What are you doing?" Boone asked, walking up behind her.
"I think I was mean to him," she said softly.
"What?"
"Isn't that the guy from the gate? He wouldn't let us have our seats in first class. He saved our lives." Boone sighed, resentful that she was still sitting around only thinking of herself. "Come on, Shannon, we're trying to clear some of the wreckage. You should help out. You're just being worthless over here." She scrambled to her feet to face him. "I'm being what?"
"What do you want me to say? You're sitting on your ass staring at bodies." "I've just been through a trauma here, okay?"
"We've all been through a trauma. The only difference is, since the crash, you've actually given yourself a pedicure." Here she was looking for support and he just wanted to keep tearing her down. "You know what? It is so easy to make fun of me, and you're good at it. I get it," she spat the words at his smug face. "I wish I didn't have to waste my time making fun of you," he shot back. "I wish I didn't have a reason. Yeah, it is easy, Shannon." "Screw you, you do not have the slightest idea what I am thinking."
"I have a much better idea than you think I do."
"No, you don't!"
"Okay, Shannon. Then what are you thinking?"
She paused to catch her breath and brush the hair out of her face. Then she caught sight of a man and woman gathering their packs for a trip.
"I'm going with them," she declared defiantly. "On the hike."
Boone looked at her in disbelief. "Yeah?"
"Yup. I'm going."
"No, you're not, Shannon. Shannon!"
He tried to grab her arm but she jerked it free and strode over to Kate and Sayid. "I'd like to come with you."
"She's not going," Boone contradicted her. "She doesn't want to go."
"The hell I'm not."
"It's what she does. She postures," he informed Kate and Sayid.
"You don't know what the hell I do!"
"Makes really bad decisions to upset her family, which, at the moment, is me." "Shut up, and stop trying to be charming." She cut him off and turned her attention back to Kate and Sayid. "I'm coming with you."

KATE
All set to head off, a whirlwind of drama approached them. Kate shared a glance with Sayid before turning back to the girl... Shannon, the guy had called her. Anybody could easily assess that this girl was high maintenance and Kate pictured her as more of the type to scoff at the suggestion of a hike. Clearly this had something to do with their argument.
"I don't... know if that's such a good idea," she said cautiously.

"What are you? Two years older than me? Please," she scoffed at Kate. Then she noticed a short bearded British guy had appeared beside her. "You're going, aren't you?" she asked him. "Yeah, are you?"
"Yup," she proclaimed.
"Yeah, I'm definitely going."

KATE
"Look," she said, holding up her hands in defeat, "everybody can come. But we're leaving now."
Kate and Sayid turned and started off into the jungle without a backward glance. She didn't want to get dragged into whatever was going on but if they wanted to go on this hike out of spite over some stupid argument, then fine. But she wasn't going to babysit them. It would be up to them to keep up.

Jinx enters from F3 - Area of Survivor's Camp - Day 3 with her shelter supplies
Jasmine made sure she was close by, but not to close from everyone else. She just didn't want to be around people right now, she was still shaken up about losing Jordan. Everything seemed to be falling apart around her, day three and no sign of the rescue boat. She worried that maybe they wouldn't be found, that they were going to be stuck out here and eventually die off. Taking a few breaths she found a good spot and started to set up her shelter, hoping that this time it would stay up.

HEIDI
As I walked, I took out my hair band and wrung as much water out of my hair as I could. I found myself involuntarily slowing as I got nearer to Jasmine, dreading the upcoming conversation. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The sooner I did this, the sooner it would be over with.
"Hey," I said with a tentative smile as I leaned down to peek under the roof of Jasmine's shelter. "Can we talk?" I waited patiently, not sure if she wanted to be alone or if she was okay with a little company.

"Thanks," I said as I took the offered bottle of water. I hadn't realized until then that I hadn't had anything to drink yet today. I took a couple of sips, my mind trying to come up with how to word what I was trying to say. "It's done." I handed back the bottle. "I found a couple of people to help; Mia and Severin. They're mostly to thank."
