4 stars from me! Great episode, but I feel like have to compare it with those who had left me like an emotional wreck. In the beginning, I was like "who the hell is that girl in the flashback?", especially when it was said that the teenager was dating a much older guy. I first figured we would get to see one of our Losties have dated a youngster in the past lol. I'm glad it wasn't meant like that. Once I heard the name John it dawned on me anyway. And yet again we saw that guy who seems to not age at all in those Locke flashbacks! Dude, I really wonder who he is? Maybe even Jacob? I mean he was already on the island when Ben was a kid and I remember to have talked to him like Ben was the chosen one back at that time. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I know the face of the black guy from who was talking to Locke in the hospital? But I'm damn sure we have seen him already, probably even several times. My memory is so bad lol. Oh oh, things are getting intense on the freighter. I really can't stand that Kimi guy. Wait, was that his name? Kimi? Well, I think so. xD I can't completely believe Ben really giving up his island by practically handing the commando over to Locke. I just think he still has an ace up his sleeve or something. Actually felt afraid for Hurley all throughout the scenes they were watching Locke from the distance. Oh yah, the best scene of all was in my opinion when Hurley shared his chocolate bar with Ben! XD Their looks at each other were just hilarious!!! So, what the hell is Jack's father doing in the cabin?? And Claire? Are both of them really there or is it like a fata morgana created by the island itself? Or by that Jacob person? So many questions, gah!

4 stars from me as well!
Yes, Richard, the guy who never ages!! Love him! I know we haven't seen him much up to this point but he's got his own ep next season I believe and it's AMAZING! Might be my fav ep next to The Constant.
But anywho, back to this ep! We got to see Locke's mama, Emily, as a little girl. I'm even more disgusted with Anthony Cooper now. She looked like she was what, 15? And he was twice her age? Man, his ass would be in jail if that was happening in a more current time but things were different back then.
Poor John. His life is really tragic. It was so crazy to see Richard visiting throughout his life; newborn, young kid, then attempted to get him to join the science program at Mittelos. That's the lab that Juliet had been recruited by. The company they used as a front for island dealings, apparently.
Interesting test that Richard did on John when he was a young kid. John chose right the first time, choosing the little container of sand, which I'm assuming is sand from the island. The process Richard used is the same kind of process used to find the reincarnated Dali Lama once the current one passes away. They bring items to different younger children who may be the reincarnation and ask him "which of these belong to you". If they choose the items that belonged to the previous Dali Lama, they believe they've found the reincarnated Dali Lama.
I don't think Richard is Jacob though. Richard has talked about Jacob in the past. He gives the impression of being devoted and loyal to Jacob, even questioning Ben one time about his decision and saying something like "that's not what Jacob wanted". I don't think that was it, exactly. I do remember Richard questioning a decision Ben made though, seeming to know that it wasn't what Jacob had asked for.
Ah yes. The black guy, whose name is Matthew Abaddon. He's an associate of Charles Widmore, therefore he knows something about Locke's connection to the island and that there's a possibility he knows how to get to it. So he's trying to move him around like a chess piece to get him on the path to the island, probably so they can use him to get to the island. We saw Abaddon with Naomi recruiting the science team. In the flash forward, he shows up at Hurley's hospital posing as an Oceanic attorney and asks Hurley if "they" are still alive, as in, the other survivors. Hurley was immediately skeptical of him.
Yah, Martin Keamy needs to die a horrible death. He's a sociopath. Surprised you don't like him. XD Seriously, he's awful. He was sent to kill every living person on that island. Apparently, Widmore wants the place all to himself. What's that thing on his arm though? I'm guessing a dead man's switch.
Well, I don't think Ben would ever stop protecting the island but I think he's accepted that Locke has been chosen now. He tried to kill Locke already, point blank, and the island didn't let Locke die. Obviously, the island seems to think Locke is important to it and Ben is protective of the island so.... Well, we'll see. XD Also though, I don't think anybody is in command of the island. The island itself or Jacob seem to be in command. Ben and now Locke are just the ones the island or Jacob depend on to protect it and follow its orders.
Lmao, I was gonna say the same thing; what the hell is going on with Christian and most especially, Claire? I actually don't think that's really Christian. I think the smoke monster or Jacob are using Christian's body as a vessel and probably has access to Christian's memories, which would explain why he knows the name of the body and why he might have sought out Claire. Seriously though, what the hell could he have said to Claire to make her freakin' abandon Aaron??
Yes, both of them are really there. Remember, Christian's body was on the plane being transported back to L.A. but when Jack found the casket, the body was gone. Christian's body was obviously still fresh enough for whatever is using it to use it. I think he's different from the other things we've seen on the island, like when Eko saw his brother. That was definitely Smokey. We know that. So is this also Smokey? Or is it Jacob? WTF IS GOING ON?? XD
Favorite quotes/moments:
Hurley and Ben splitting a candy bar
Hurley: (looking into the pit of corpses) What happened to them? Locke: (gesturing to Ben) He did.
Ben: Fate, John, is a fickle bitch.
