"You’re no earthling." The Grandmaster grinned, and just as he was about to tell his story or at least the best parts of it, the blue boy went on without being asked. At that fact, the Grandmaster couldn't help wrinkling his brow. "I don’t want to hear your story about how you landed on this planet. I even don’t want to know where you’re coming from. Just some simple questions."
"Yes, what is it?", he asked without much of anticipation. Even the Grandmaster could run out of patience at some point, especially when he had to bother with guys obviously never had been taught manners.
"I’m searching for some conspicuous people. Maybe you’ve seen them. I’ve to tie up a few loose ends – nothing to worry about for you, Grandmaster." At that the Grandmaster leaned a little forward in his chair, not exactly expectant yet ready to listen. And as there was following a pause in which the boy was giving him some kind of smirk, his hand raised in a gesture that was saying that he shall go on. "So, did you hear about Thor, a man who calls himself the God of Thunder? Or his so-called brother Loki, an insincere traitor? And what about the Hulk, a big green monster?"
Suddenly there appeared a spark of joy back in the Grandmaster's eyes. "Oh yes - yah, I remember them. They had been coming from this place with that - uh - strange name, ass-place... or something like that. And the Hulk - ah well, he'd been such a great champion. Why are you asking though?", he suddenly wanted to know, remembering well the last time they had seen each other like it was yesterday. Then he leaned just a little more forward, his features actually hardening for the first time of their conversation. "Are they here on Earth?"

Again the Kree warrior wondered about that man’s behavior. He had the sense that the Grandmaster changes his state of mind more often than other people their underwear. But maybe this time it could be of use for him. "Oh yes - yah, I remember them. They had been coming from this place with that - uh - strange name, ass-place... or something like that. And the Hulk - ah well, he'd been such a great champion. Why are you asking though?" "Are they here on Earth?" "It was called Asgard but that’s not the matter. Like I said before – you shouldn’t care too much about my matters. But I’m willing to reveal you the detail that those people are thieves." 'Who stole something very important for my father' – that was what he wasn’t willed to tell. Most little beings wouldn’t understand his father’s visionary intentions. "You said the Hulk was your champion? Maybe we could make a deal…" Now it was Kyrin’s turn to lean closer to the Grandmaster. "I only need those Asgardians alive. If I’ll get the Hulk you can have him and do whatever you want. Maybe he could be your champion again?" He made a short pause before he also added: "Oh, and to be honest – I am interested in your kind of weapons." Of course, he wasn’t. He liked his own weapons. But it couldn’t do any harm to have a look at those. Normally he didn’t like to wheedle people but it probably would work with this guy. It was all for the main goal! "So, do you know anything about their whereabouts? Did they give you a hint or something like that?"

"It was called Asgard but that’s not the matter. Like I said before – you shouldn’t care too much about my matters. But I’m willing to reveal you the detail that those people are thieves."
Oh, the Grandmaster already knew about that; or rather had first-hand experience of that. With his facial features still hardened, he was leaning just a little closer, waiting for the blue fighter to go on.
"You said the Hulk was your champion? Maybe we could make a deal…" The Grandmaster's eyebrow raised in anticipation at that. "I only need those Asgardians alive. If I’ll get the Hulk you can have him and do whatever you want. Maybe he could be your champion again?"
But what made him believe the Grandmaster had only interest in the Hulk? Well, maybe it was better, for now, to not talk about that he still had to settle an outstanding score with all these guys instead.
"Oh, and to be honest – I am interested in your kind of weapons." Of course, he was. Who wouldn't be interested in the Grandmaster's weapons anyway? A satisfied grin appeared back on his face. "So, do you know anything about their whereabouts? Did they give you a hint or something like that?"
"Before I'm going to say anything more", the Grandmaster finally launched into an answer. "For what again do I need you in this matter? You're still not going to attend a fight... or are you?" And yet again he leaned a little forward, the melting stick firmly in his hand. This guy better not thought he could make a fool out of him.

The facial expressions of that guy showed his interest but still he kept playing the wary one. The Kree warrior began to do a slow burn but tried his best to stay cool outwardly. "Before I'm going to say anything more" "For what again do I need you in this matter? You're still not going to attend a fight... or are you?" Kyrin took a deep breath to calm himself down. Why is it ME who needs to talk to such a stupid individual instead of fighting, torturing and killing?! He was sure Thanos himself could deal much better with words than he could do now. But sadly his father sent him and his siblings to find the Infinity Stones or any hint where or how to find them.
"Listen! And listen carefully. I won’t be your champion, captive or servant! But," he paused for a moment and closed his eyes, begging that he won’t regret his following words, "maybe I’m willing to give you one fight if your hints would turn out as useful." Another pause. But not long enough to gave that Grandmaster the chance to run off at the mouth like all the times before. "Of course, I won’t fight against my lovely enemy." There was a wintry smile on his face while he talked about Nebula. "As you’ve heard her – she don’t want to do so. Not here. But I’ll give you an advice: Choose my adversaries very well. I don’t want to kill them through an error, understand?" It was not that he would care about some humans he could kill accidentally. It was because he didn’t want to be bored by this fight he seemed to be forced participating. "Oh, and I want to have one of your weapons! So, what do you say? Do we have a deal?"

The Grandmaster was listening indeed, and he was listening carefully until finally, the blue warrior shut his mouth. Then he leaned back again for some more moments, in which his eyes took turns at narrowing in thoughtfulness, while he actually remained silent. He wasn't agreeable with everything the warrior had said yet he was willing to accept a compromise. This earth place was very different from Sakaar and seemed to come with not even one fighter that could satisfy his high expectations. One fight with this guy might be enough to attract attention. Attention from other non-earthlings. Like... advertising. Maybe this could put them back on the map. And also, the Hulk was here. Oh, he had been such a great champion, the Grandmaster suddenly remembered with a smile and a wobbling of his head. Well, they had nothing to lose anyway, although he didn't appreciate that he had to let these guys slip through his fingers. But then again, you always meet twice, or not?
"Deal!", suddenly the Grandmaster raised from his chair and accepted without rambling on like he usually did. "One fight for me and all information I get... for you. Oh yah, and I want that guy with the funny sparkling hands as well. Let's say, in exchange for the weapon you'll get."

While he kept an eye on the Grandmaster he was glad that he couldn’t read into other people’s thoughts. He didn’t want to know what happened behind his forehead. That guy was a bit too crazy for his own liking. "Deal!", his dialog partner suddenly stated and stood up from his chair. That was a bit unexpected. The Kree warrior thought that he would try to change that deal or something like that. "One fight for me and all information I get... for you. Oh yah, and I want that guy with the funny sparkling hands as well. Let's say, in exchange for the weapon you'll get." And there it was! "No!," he replied. "You can’t have the Asgardians. Thor and his brother had to come with me." Did he not understand? "So I refuse your weapon. Then we only got your information and one fight between me and whatever you’ll chose to be destroyed in Exchange for them. Oh, and I hope you got that little detail that I’ll only fight AFTER your information helped me catching those Asgardians and maybe also your Hulk."

"No!," It was written on the Grandmaster's facial features that he wasn't taking the blue warrior's objection too serious. A smirk lay on his lips as he turned to the side to bandy looks with his assistance and back to the warrior in front of them. "You can’t have the Asgardians. Thor and his brother had to come with me."
Cute, how he was thinking that the Grandmaster wouldn't be able to get what he wanted anyway. Well, obviously, this guy had not the slightest idea who he actually was dealing with.
"So I refuse your weapon. Then we only got your information and one fight between me and whatever you’ll choose to be destroyed in Exchange for them. Oh, and I hope you got that little detail that I’ll only fight AFTER your information helped me catching those Asgardians and maybe also your Hulk."
Oh, that was it! The Grandmaster's features lightened up at once, as he came up with an idea. That warrior lady might not come back here, but if the Hulk will be back in his inventory... well, that could promise to become the hell of a fight. And after the Hulk finished Blueman, there will be nobody left getting in the way between him and his revenge on Sparkles and his brother. Well, the Grandmaster really wasn't so vindictive, but misdeeds had to be punished. Not his rule. Rule of the universe.
"I accept!", he eventually stated with kind of a devilish grin. "Do you want us to - uh - seal our deal in some way?", the Grandmaster suddenly asked, obviously serious about this, before he once again turned towards Topaz. "Are you familiar with sealing rituals on this earth place? I don't want my hands getting dirty or something."

Again there were those strange expressions on the Grandmaster’s face but the Kree warrior decided to ignore them. He didn’t really want to know what was going on in that strange guy’s head. But he’ll deal with it when the time would have come. "I accept!" Kyrin just gave a short nod, a satisfied grin on his lips. That was all he wanted. If that guy would try to betray him or claim more than he deserved, he could kill him after he got his information from him. "Do you want us to - uh - seal our deal in some way?" "Are you familiar with sealing rituals on this earth place? I don't want my hands getting dirty or something." In truth he wished to kill him now! But as a true fighter he had learn to choke and control his feelings. Time will come… He took a communicator from his side pocket and handed it to the Grandmaster’s servant. "Give this to your master. He can call me anytime if he’ll get new hints about our targets. But I won’t promise to answer immediately." He turned back to the Grandmaster. "I think you know what a communicator is, right?" Then the Kree took one of his swords again and ran his hand over the blade. This time there was a devilish grin on his face. "You and I both aren’t from this place. So who cares about traditions on Earth?! My people use to give blood oaths to seal deals…"

"I think you know what a communicator is, right?"The Grandmaster gave him an expression of pure disbelief. What was this guy thinking he was talking to? He forbore to throw his hands up in despair, just as he forbore to give an answer to this hopefully rhetorical question. Instead, he remained quiet as he watched the blue warrior running his hand over his own blade. "You and I both aren’t from this place. So who cares about traditions on Earth?! My people use to give blood oaths to seal deals…""Well - uh - I think this can be valid without formalities.", the Grandmaster decided with a refusing wave of his hand and a sideglance towards Topaz. "Okay, we're done.", he eventually added in the warrior's direction, giving him the sign to leave, this time hopefully unmistakable as he remembered there had been communication difficulties the last time he had used this kind of sign language.*

"Well - uh - I think this can be valid without formalities." "Coward," was all Kyrin answered. But he put away his blade. "Okay, we're done." First the Kree warrior nodded but then he looked wondering at the Grandmaster when he did that thing with his hand again. "I don’t know where you’re from but it looks like your people like to wave their hands while they’re speaking. But that doesn’t concern me." Then he turned around and left this place. Time to give feedback. Some of the people around still retreated when he passed them. No one dared to hold him back.

And it should not be at all surprised if the traitor still got the Tesseract." Nothing more need to say. The Titan close down the communication line and allowed himself a small smile. "Universal signs, goddammit.", the Grandmaster couldn't help cat-calling at him, although it was actually more an expression of disbelief to himself. So was the sound of his voice, rather disbelieving than incensed. It was rare for the Grandmaster to swear though.
Then he turned around towards his assistance once again, an almost childish smirk around his lips. "We'll be getting back to great entertainment, Topaz!"

*** A few weeks later ***
Nebula's recruitment campaign was getting her absolutely nowhere. Bad guys on this planet were either unmotivated or too tied up to even shred an inkling of care for her cause. They all showed weakness, and to Nebula she found every one of them absolutely revolting. She needed some good fighters. Fighters that she could shape and mold into the army she had once before. She was a commander once, she knew she could do it again. But where would she find warriors worthy enough for her cause? Then through her searching, the words of that Grandmaster kept coming back to her. So, she came up with a proposition. One she knew he couldn't refuse.
As Nebula strolled up to the entrance of the warehouse, she was met by two burly characters who appeared to be guarding the building from unwanted guests. "I come in peace," Nebula surrendered at the door with her hands at her side, "Bring me to your Grandmaster."
"You think we're gonna let you in armed? C'mon, Miss, empty everything you got."
Nebula was hesitant at first. But she really wanted this opportunity, as it could be one of her last great ideas before she had noting. Every weapon was unloaded and surrendered over to the guards before they agreed to escort her inside.
The guards brought Nebula through the warehouse which was currently vacant of the bustling scene she had first met the Grandmaster at a few weeks prior. They tried to have some sort of control over her as they attempted to grab her arms to push her forward, yet Nebula refused to be detained. She was no prisoner and was here by her own will. The guards brought her up to a small office with a closed door. One of the guards walked up to the door and made a rapping sound on the door with his first.
"Grandmaster, you have a guest awaiting for you outside these doors." The guard announced before the three of them anxiously awaited for an answer from the other side.

A deeply annoyed sigh came from inside the office after the guard had knocked on its door.
"Grandmaster, you have a guest awaiting for you outside these doors."
"For heaven's sake, I'm just giving someone the blame here - uh, I mean - talking to someone." Maybe it was better to put it that way. These earthlings were scared so easily, and he couldn't afford to lose more of his staff. "Oh wait!" Suddenly there was a break in the Grandmaster's voice. And when he finally spoke up again, it had lost all of the annoyance from before. "Did you say a guest?"
A pause. Then a scream. Another pause.
"You can... wow - stabbed in there again... uh - just come in."
As the door got opened with the guard hesitantly peeking inside, that one's face became pale as a corpse all of a sudden, yet he tried his best to turn his focus away from the ground next to the Grandmaster's feet and instead up into his face.
"Sir! I'll be waiting outside in case you... need me." he said before quickly leaving the room again, shoving Nebula inside like a little bunny into a fox's den.
As soon as the Grandmaster recognized the guest, he was suddenly beaming up with joy, just like a child did over a surprise for its birthday. "Gal killer!" Or whatever her name had been... He only remembered it been too long to serve as a good one for a champion. Before she could have said something in return, the Grandmaster went on. "So, did we finish off the rest of the family yet? I know you shall not play favorites or as they say, but - uh - I've become a fan of you right from the moment you'd walked in here. Please excuse the smell, by the way."

Before she knew it, Nebula was being shoveled through the entrance to the office. She didn't particularly appreciate unwanted force, let alone unwelcomed close contact. She shoved back slightly, yet didn't have much of a chance to fight back before being dropped into the presence of the very man she came here to see today.
"Gal killer!"
Those dark, beady eyes that resided in her sockets rolled loud enough for the entire room to hear, yet she didn't bother correcting his mistake on her name title. She had made a few too many name title mistakes herself, so she didn't want to come off as a hypocrite. Instead, she allowed him to proceed forward as he continued to speak to her. If anything, Nebula knew that she needed the Grandmaster on her side. She had no one else left, after all.
"So, did we finish off the rest of the family yet? I know you shall not play favorites or as they say, but - uh - I've become a fan of you right from the moment you'd walked in here. Please excuse the smell, by the way."
Nebula was a rather cut to the chase kind of girl. If anyone knew her, they would know that she did not favor small talk or dancing around subjects like a politician. Nebula cocked her head to the side as her complexion grew rather serious, "Grandmaster, I come to you today with a proposition. You need a grand Champion...I can last one thousand matches against the masses of these lowly humans who call themselves fighters," Nebula boasted, as her skillset was no secret to anyone who was aware of her assassin reflexes gained through her life long training, "If you hire me, I'll guarantee you enough entertainment to take you around this Earth for a decade. But if you want me, there's a condition I would like fulfilled in order to keep me around." Nebula hinted at the deal she was itching to make as they made the transition from job interview to propositions in the making.

"Wow, straight to the point, aren't we?" he asked in a slightly amused tone yet at the same time curious why she would, all of a sudden, come back here to make him that offer while last time she had seemed rather uninterested. The Grandmaster still hadn't gotten any advantage of his former agreement with the other guy. He wondered what kind of condition could be so important now, causing her to have a change of mind.
With slow steps, the Grandmaster started moving towards the only chair that was in the office, not even considering to offer her a seat as well if it were different or, perish the thought, instead of him. There was a rank order. Rules of the universe.
Once he found himself seated, the Grandmaster eyed her with a look as if trying to read the information off her mind while, in fact, he was only thinking of better names for her on the way to make her a champion before actually joining in her straight-to-the-point mannerism. "Go ahead."

Nebula's head turned as slow as the Grandmaster moved, inching closer and closer to his chair until he was nestled comfortably in it's seat. Nebula watched rather inconvenienced, but this proposal could be huge for her. So she was willing to sacrifice a few seconds of her life in exchange for the reward that she will soon reap. Soon, she will be back on her feet and on the path to taking down her father. Again. Around and around she went. Yet, no matter how many times she got flung off the ride, this time she would hold onto this merry-go-round even if it killed her.
"Go ahead."
"You will loan your losers to my cause - a great army that will take down Thanos once and for all. I will train each and every loser until they sweat the beads of a warrior. Even if they taste blood and their bodies give away. I will have my army - and you'll be saved from the impending death of this planet as we speak," Nebula stood there as her intense stare latched onto the Grandmaster long enough to make him squirm in his seat. She wouldn't be shaken. Nebula would take what she wanted, and give this man a prized winning fighter in the arena. Even if he might not deserve it, she deserved a piece of victory for herself especially after everything she had gone through up to this point in time on Earth.

Even if they taste blood and their bodies give away. I will have my army - and you'll be saved from the impending death of this planet as we speak,"
After his new champion-to-be had finished, with the Grandmaster hanging on her every word, he eventually leaned back in his chair. He wouldn't break their eye contact whilst savoring the offer very slowly and without saying anything except for some weird noises that could be best described as natural Grandmaster sounds. He had heard of Thanos and his plans, even though the communication system here on earth didn't go so well as it had back on Sakaar where he had been ruler. Oh gosh, he missed those times. The Grandmaster was still seeing himself as kind of a ruler, or a ruler-to-be, but this wasn't the same. The earthlings bored him. Lately, there had been times that he would have liked nothing better than melting them just all and find another planet even. If not his ship still would be inoperative. Too bad that they didn't accept Units here. Well, as far as he had heard, Thanos was heading for this planet next. The Grandmaster better was somewhere else by that time. He had way more power himself than people would be thinking, yet he was not interested in this whole war without entertainment thing. Just not his style. They shall argue that out between themselves. What he needed was still an airworthy ship, though; therefore earth money to pay somebody who was able to repair it for him.
"I accept," the Grandmaster suddenly uttered unusually taciturn again, his eyes still glued at her like she was a just purchased object which value still had to be proven to suffice. "On one condition," he added after a short pause, a smirk appearing on his lips while he leaned closer again. "I'll be granted a trial, uh, let's sayyy-eh-er month." He wobbled his head in appreciation over his own genius. He wouldn't be tricked by these people twice. "So?"

"I accept,"
Nebula didn't flinch in any sort of direction as she remained collected as a seam, holding it all together before one pull makes her explode. She wasn't surprised, as her offer was too good to turn down. The Grandmaster would get what he wanted, as would she. Nebula was just glad to hear him come to the agreement.
"On one condition,"
An underlying growl emerged from Nebula's throat as she rolled her eyes. She hated other people's conditions, or when they expected more in return. Playing by her own rules was always Nebula's chosen game. Usually she was all or nothing and would have retaliated more emotionally than she had at this point, but The Grandmaster was her ticket to building her new army. One that would help her get to her father so she could take him down. Once and for all. Throwing her arms down to her side in an agitated fashion, Nebula rolled her head to one side and gave the Grandmaster an impatient look as she anticipated his much desired 'conditions'.
"I'll be granted a trial, uh, let's sayyy-eh-er month." "So?"
"Fine," Nebula gnarled just as quickly as Grandmaster had finished his sentence, moving her arms back up to cross them over her chest tightly, "But I'll prove to you that I'm the best fighter to ever walk this seedy planet. You need me." Nebula had her guard up and was on the defensive when she spoke. She was making underlying conviction not only to the Grandmaster, but also to herself. Nebula not only wanted to prove herself as a fighter, but she wanted to prove to herself that she was worthy of being a commander of a second army after getting the first one slaughtered. After everything she had been through at this point, with her sister, Thanos, Andro - Nebula felt that she deserved this moment.

"Fine,"
The grin on the Grandmaster's face widened. Although, he hadn't expected, or rather, wouldn't have accepted any other answer anyway. He surely wouldn't pass up the opportunity to finally get himself a champion, one that survived more than a couple of fights, twice.
"But I'll prove to you that I'm the best fighter to ever walk this seedy planet. You need me."
"Oh, I'm sure you will!" the Grandmaster replied with a joyful chuckle and in a master-of-some-pet way. "This is a mere matter of form, not of, uh, well, nothing personal, you know. Okay, note to myself -- putting these things down in writing." If he had learned one thing while being stuck on this earth planet, then it was that its inhabitants liked themselves a lot of paperwork for some reason that wasn't clear to him. Anyways, he should charge some of his more brainy earthlings with doing that for him because this was not his kind of style.
Eventually, the Grandmaster turned his full attention back towards his new champion-to-be -- my gosh, that thing needed a name, another matter of urgency --, once again eying her up from head to toe. "Do these add-ons have any functions?" he suddenly asked, pointing at practically everything on her body. "Fancy little sparks of deathly thunder or something like that?" The Grandmaster smirked in amusement, yet, at the same time, expectantly, since his question had been meant seriously. He was a curious being and also liked to get a first picture of what the show would be like.

"Do these add-ons have any functions?" "Fancy little sparks of deathly thunder or something like that?"
A spark of fury lit up in Nebula's eyes as she watched the Grandmaster comment lightly on her bionic parts. Add-ons for a war machine, but should never be for a daughter. She despised whenever any other would have enough guts to point out her greatest insecurities with naïve curiosity. Though, these mechanical components were apart of her. Surely these parts made her appear to be one of the strongest, most powerful beings in the room. A perfect mask for the pain and torment she suffered from within. Nebula's gaze panned from the curious Grandmaster down to her bionic arm. If he wanted a demonstration, Nebula surely would give him one. Nebula felt a burning anger trigger through her body just from the sheer emotion that flooded back through her consciousness, being ripped apart and formed into a murderer. All by the one that was supposed to love her unconditionally. Whipping her body around, Nebula threw her metal arm out towards the guard that had been monitoring her from behind. Grabbing him by the neck, she violently threw him sideways as he was sent crashing into the wall. The other guards surrounded Nebula on cue with their weapons raised at the potential threat in the room. Growing confused of the message she had received, Nebula teetered onto the defensive side as she threw her electric batons in front of her, ready to play.

At first, the Grandmaster enjoyed the little demonstration she gave instead of just serving him with an answer. He liked creatures that lived by the motto 'show, don't tell', a rule that might have been supposed to refer to another issue yet could be perfectly transferred to his business as well. There even was the word 'show' in it. However, the smirk on his features slowly died down when she started threatening his guards like this would be a real battle. He saw a good portion of fury in her eyes, telling him that she would be serving him with quite a show in the matches, but it was a misplacement around here. Actually, the main reason why the Grandmaster wasn't too pleased with this sudden action scene was that, lately, he went out of good guard humans.
"Okay, stop, stop! Stop this," he suddenly intervened as he rose from his chair, his voice and movements, however, remaining calm as usual. Then, after all, a smile came back to his face, accompanied by a slight wobbling of his head. "I would really appreciate it if you're not, uh, killing my staff. Thank you." The Grandmaster slowly got seated again before finally declaring this meeting closed. "No more questions from my side... That means: you can go."

"Okay, stop, stop! Stop this," "I would really appreciate it if you're not, uh, killing my staff. Thank you."
Nebula snapped out of her rage the moment that the Grandmaster's voice brought her back down to reality. Even though she had caused this situation, a sudden fight or flight mode had kicked in instinctively. Fixing her eyes on the Grandmaster, he remained calm yet showed concern for his guards. Remembering there was no real threat here and that the guards were not going to hurt her, Nebula disarmed herself as she lowered her weapons and stashed them away. Although she didn't apologize verbally, a repentant look cast over Nebula's face as she had completely turned to face the commander of the room. "No more questions from my side... That means: you can go."Nebula's eyes followed the man as he sat himself back down in his seat. The deal was sealed, and Nebula found satisfaction in this new arrangement. She'd get to play and build her army, and at this revelation she didn't really know how to outwardly shed her gratitude towards the Grandmaster. Giving a quick bow of her head in respect, Nebula nodded confidently in his direction, "You won't regret this," Nebula affirmed before turning around and walking herself out of the room, diverting any sort of glances at any of the guards as she passed by them. *** A Few Weeks Later ***Nebula and the Grandmaster both had different visions of what they wanted for an outcome of their joint venture. Though, over the few weeks that Nebula had spent in his arena, a bond of trust slowly began to develop between the two. She observed the kind of leader he was, and how he treated others around him. All the while, she would catch Grandmaster observing her from his throne. She felt his eyes follow her practices in and outside of the arena, but she didn't mind. It was business, after all. Grandmaster surely was an eccentric being, but the transparency he offered Nebula allowed her to lower her walls around him more and more.
Amping herself up in one of the ground level rooms in the warehouse, Nebula could hear the crowd booming through the closed door. Clapping, chanting, and cheering over the openers that were flailing about the arena. Warming the spectators up for the main event: Nebula, The Galaxy Class Killer. She loved every bit of it, the fighting, the adrenaline pumping moments where she'd fake being taken down then flip the tables just to hear the satisfying sound of the crowd roar over her. The last thing she needed was another distraction, yet she knew she would have her new army soon. After the beating her heart had taken over Andro, she figured the universe owed her these moments of happiness and fulfillment. He crept into her mind less and less these days, but he was still there hanging out in the back. It still hurt tremendously, and she made a vow to herself to never allow her heart to get emotionally attached to another ever again. Not to Andro - or even to Gamora these days. Nebula had stopped gazing up through the window into the thick clouds that lay over New York in anticipation. Her sister was supposed to be here. They were going to take Thanos down together. Figuring a while ago that Gamora had a change in heart and decided to run away with pretty boy and the Gardens Of The Galaxy, Nebula felt stood up. Though, she didn't let these things fuel her hurt or hatred anymore. Now - she just wanted to build her army, slay Thanos and live her life in any way she desired. Hearing the booming voice coming from outside, Nebula heard her usual cue that she was about to be announced. She threw her game face on, which honestly did not change much from her typically stern complexion, and pushed the door open to step into the excitement.

Sophie sighed and shifted in her seat on the uncomfortable bleachers. Colin, one of her bodyguards, had dragged her all the way out to the Bronx for this must-see event in an abandoned warehouse. And yes, the space was full and quite noisy with excitement as one brutal fighting match had followed another in the center of the room. But she was lacking her purpose for being here, and it was starting to seem like a waste of time.
"I'm still not sure I get the appeal," she remarked over the din of the crowd.
"Well, you've been to boxing matches, right, ma'am?"
"Yes..."
"MMA fights? Muay Thai exhibitions?"
"Your point?"
"This is the same thing, ma'am. Just without those pesky rules."
Sophie shook her head and went back to scanning the crowd. This was starting to feel like a dead end. She'd come to this illegal fight club on the promise of seeing something exceptional -- a blue robot girl who'd put one of her biggest mercenaries in the hospital. Or so Ryan had told her in his sedative-laden stupor. So far, she'd only seen muscular but nonetheless stupid and foolhardy men, introduced and summarily dismissed by some guy in a gold kimono who seemed to love the sound of his own voice. Doubtless some out-of-work Broadway actor.
"Colin, this warehouse is the only New York property that is losing me money, not making it," Sophie advised. "So either this gets a lot more interesting quickly, or I'll have this place torn down and sold to the Chinese."

"What a show, what a night," the Grandmaster's voice echoed through the hall, finally well-filled with an audience expectantly waiting for the next attraction. "And now, it's main event time. Tonight, we have another newcomer making his first appearance in the ring. Ladies and Gentlemen, on this side, I give you, the, uh -" The Grandmaster turned towards Topaz questioningly as he, yet again, had forgotten the name of another petty opponent for his chief attraction.
"Bone-saw, Sir," his assistant made him recall in her usual emotionless fashion.
"Bo-" he was going to repeat on the quiet, then stopped himself. "That's ridiculous. Who came up with that name?" He wasn't expecting an answer to that but instead wrapped his mind around something better while literally wrapping his hands around it, his head. Ah, dammit. How shall he deliver a good name when there was not even enough time for his artistic genius to warm up. "Okay, okay, I got something," he eventually spoke up again, allowing himself to go with something second-class, still better than that initial one, though.
"I apologize for the short time-out, Ladies and Gentlemen. Now, welcome with me - The Fearsome... Bone Wrecker!" Actually a waste of a good name for just another human standing no chance against his champion, but well, he had some more in petto. A knowing smirk appeared on the Grandmaster's features as he wobbled his head, watching his easily impressed earthling audience reacting with standing ovations to just another human with a pack of muscles and an overconfidence that amused him even more.
"They think that's impressive," he commented towards Topaz again, obvious that he didn't think of this human to be impressive at all. At this point, he'd seen too many of his kind losing against Nebula. Yet, that fact wasn't leveling down his excitement for the fight since he was a sucker for the show, and his new champion knew well how to serve him with one. God, she was such a poser, which he appreciated a lot. "Look out, here we go," the Grandmaster added with rubbed hands like this would be the first time they got to see her before drawing his attention back to the audience with his announcing voice.
"And now, on the other side of the ring: What can I say about her? There's none like her. I feel a special connection with her. She's a fighter of a different class. A galaxy class. And not just a fighter. She's a killer. Ladies and Gentlemen, here comes... The... Galaxy Class Killer... Nebulaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Granted, at first, the Grandmaster hadn't been very taken by that name, but it turned out that the audience loved it, and he had grown to it a lot as well. To her even. She surely was kind of wayward, yet it seemed that it was especially that what everyone loved about her. And when the audience was happy, so was he.
Resuming his seat, the Grandmaster was satisfied and pleased with what they had made of this place. A few weeks ago, he had thought that they would never get back to greatness, but with Nebula, they even might get back to what they had on Sakaar eventually, even with this decrepit facility around them. Maybe they could use some of their earthling money to expand it somehow. Uh well, not his sort of business, but he had heard of humans who made it their job to take care of such things voluntarily. What a funny planet.

And not just a fighter. She's a killer. Ladies and Gentlemen, here comes... The... Galaxy Class Killer... Nebulaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
As Nebula emerged from her quiet quarters, a roar of thunder came from the seats of the crowd as people jumped to their feet to applaud and make as loud of noise as possible to amp up the energy in the room. Nebula pumped up her shoulders as she jogged along the pathway to the center ring, her team surrounding her in support the entire way. Not that she needed to be surrounded by people to train and to prep her for her fights, but it was nice to be surrounded by those who had her best interest at heart for once. She didn't really have much appreciation for the loud, blaring sounds they called music on Earth but she couldn't help but to love the energy 'Thunderstruck' by AC/DC gave off upon her entrance for every fight. Or was it AD/CD? Nebula could never remember, nor did she care. After a few words from her coach, Nebula stepped into the ring to come face to face with 'Bone Wrecker', a measly human that Nebula felt like she had beaten hundreds of times over. The humans she had been up against this past while posed as boring opponents, and she was ready for something fresh to challenge her senses. Dipping her head left then right, loud cracking sounds from her neck echoed through the club as the crowd roared, craving for the fight to begin. Nebula was ready to put on a show.

As the Grandmaster's voice was soon drowned out by a rollicking rock song, the crowd shot to their feet so that Sophie had to do the same just to see what was happening. One fighter in the ring was joined by another, a petite woman looking very blue and very angry. "Blimey, she's real," Sophie said in awe.
"Told you, ma'am," Colin replied with a smug smile.
Sophie tried to reconcile what she was now seeing. "She must be alien."
"Yeah, she's not from America, ma'am."
"I meant, not from Earth," she snapped.
"Some people say the emcee's an alien, too," Colin confided.
"Oh, I doubt that," Sophie scoffed. "Probably just from Westchester." But this Nebula, this galaxy class killer -- she wasn't Chitauri, or even Asgardian. No, she was something new, and suddenly the night had gotten a lot more interesting.

The Grandmaster sat with ants in his pants, every now and then rising from his chair even, watching the fight with fascination and still like it was the first time. Nebula never failed to impress him, almost like she was holding back her best moves for the next battle and the battle after, and the one after. Sometimes he even wondered if she would have taken it up with the Hulk. Whoa, that would have been quite a show. What a shame he had lost him...
As the Grandmaster started another round of cheering, although rather inwardly, he suddenly noticed some people standing apart, obviously undecided yet if they should walk closer. However, he didn't remember those to have bought a ticket beforehand. With a slightly irritated look, he turned around towards Topaz. "Who are they? They look kind of, uh, formal. I'm not yet sure if I like that."
"Mhm," his assistant mumbled, then had a look herself, yet not with the slightest emotion on her face. "Maybe it's the police."
"The police?" the Grandmaster repeated in disbelief. "No, I don't think so. Don't they wear fancy uniforms? Well, uh, not as fancy as mine, of course, but... Well, anyway, what on Saakaar would the police want here?"
And while Topaz turned her attention back to the fight, unsure what else the Grandmaster expected her to say to that, he started to feel really disturbed in his appreciation for the show, so he looked out for one of his human guards to bring them up to him. They had to pay for the show just like everyone else.

Sophie's attention was riveted to the fight when she suddenly began to feel as if she were the one being watched. She glanced to the side and noticed a rather imposing man with a rather imposing gun slung over his shoulder in close proximity. Security staff, she presumed, although with such a lax stance and muzzle discipline, she could have that rifle out of his hands and the butt of it slammed into his nose within seconds. But she wasn't looking to make enemies here. At least not yet.
"Boss wants to see you," he grunted, nodding back toward the emcee.
Colin placed himself between Sophie and the guard, and she wasn't sure it was out of loyalty or boredom. Sometimes he just wanted to start a fight for the satisfaction of winning a tussle.
"Stand down, soldier," she instructed, as she laid a restraining hand on his arm. "Let's leave the fighting to the professionals. Lead on."
She and Colin then followed the guard's lead to the viewing platform, raised higher than the crowd and offering the best view of the proceedings. There were over a dozen well-dressed people lounging in plush chairs or standing with cocktails in hand. A very large, expensive-looking keyboard caught her attention merely for its randomness. And at the center of it all was the very colorful, very tall master of ceremonies.
“The Grandmaster, I presume?” Sophie began, stepping closer and trying to talk above the fray. “I thought it would take me longer to score a face-to-face with you. I’m Sophie Briggs, this is my associate Colin.” She offered a warm smile and an outstretched hand.

The Grandmaster turned, once again, and very reluctantly, since the fight was, as usual, very entertaining, his attention away from the arena and towards the blonde woman and the brawny dude next to her. "Yah, hello," he answered in a rather sullen way, not because he had no manners, but because they obviously hadn't. However, now they were here. With one deep sigh, the Grandmaster turned completely around to them, after all. his features softening a little. "Well, I have a tenacious memory for faces, so - uh, you two are not here for the battle, I presume?" The silent question following was 'so what else do you want here, so uninvited?'
