I give this episode 4 stars. Loved to see more of Sun and Jin. Whenever we hear that whooshing sound in an episode, my mind goes 'flashback' and I keep forgetting that these are 'flashsideways' now, lol. So I was surprised when Jin stated that they aren't married. XD It was interesting to see how their story went in that alternate version yet heartbreaking to see Sun telling him she was pregnant after she got shot into her belly... I wish they could just be happy together for once. Speaking of their child, it was also very emotional to see Jin watching their daughter on this camera Widmore had handed out to him on the island. Man, Sayid is so freaking hot in that scene in the flashsideway with Jin! :-O Well, and I have no idea how that had happened, but in this episode I kinda enjoyed seeing Keamy, lol. Definitely great acting! It was only a little scene, but I loved seeing Richard after we had seen his backstory in the episode before! <3 I so loved the conversation between Jack and Sun close to the end! He really is someone you want to have around when you feel bad about anything. I wonder what kind of game MIB is playing with Claire, telling her that her name wasn't on the wall.. Wait, that guy with Sun in the bank in the flashsideways was Mikhail??? I didn't recognize him but only saw this now in the transcript I use to write my reviews to not forgetting something, lol. Desmond!!! Yees!! So glad he's back! Well though, he probably isn't, lol.

4 stars from me as well!
It didn't feel like there was that much forward movement on the in-current island scenes but it's so neat to see the flash sideways to how life turned out different from what we've known was the island-reality. I, too, forgot at the beginning that it was flash sideways and not flashback right when Jin mentioned they weren't married. Then was like, oh yah. XD
So in this flash sideways, they aren't married and Jin had taken a job with Sun's father BEFORE falling in love with Sun. Interesting. It was great to see all those faces again! Slimy Keamy is still slimy. And Mikhail! I knew him right off, but he definitely did look different all clean shaven and without an eye patch. I laughed when I saw he got shot in the eye, lol! How symbolic of this other reality!
So sad when Keamy said "Some people aren't meant to be together" because it's starting to feel like that with Sun and Jin. I mean, how many times have those two poor people been separated? Let them be together, you mean writers! XD And yes, that scene where Jin is seeing pics of his daughter for the first time gets me right in the feels.
Omg, Desmond is the secret package Widmore keeps eluding to! Geez, Penny and Desmond. Another couple that keeps getting separated. WTF is Widmore doing with Desmond? Obviously he found them. They'd taken off to live life on a boat, just Desmond, Penny, and their son, Charlie, just to get away from Widmore. But Widmore doesn't seem to care about his daughter's happiness. He only cares about the damned island. There appears to be something special about Desmond's connection to the island that Widmore felt was important enough to have him tracked down and taken away from his family without giving a shit about his daughter.
I agree, Jack's a great guy to have around when you need someone to talk to. Despite his moments where he drags himself down with alcohol and lets his need to help others drag him down also, he's a genuinely good man.
I also wonder WTF MIB is up to! He kinda did but kinda didn't lie about Claire's name being on the wall. It was, but it had been crossed out. I don't know if he meant it like in a way where her name is "not active" or if he was lying. But he did mention that Kate's name was crossed out. Who knows. MIB is cunning and deceptive. You just can't trust anything he says. And it also sounds like he's backing Claire on the idea of offing Kate after he's done using Kate to get everyone he needs onto that Ajira plane.
Oh!!! And I totally recognized MIB's quote, "A wise man once said that war was coming to this island". I knew I'd heard it in the show before and knew it had to be from the flashbacks we saw to when Widmore was young and on the island. Luckily, the companion book I'm reading after each ep pointed it out! This same sentence was said by Widmore to Locke when he talked to Locke at his hospital bedside in the ep "The Life and Times of Jeremy Bentham". MIB was displaying again that he's taken on Locke's memories along with his body.
Favorite quotes/moments:
SAWYER: What do you need a boat for? Can't you just turn into smoke and fly your ass over the water?
BEN: Oh, for the fourth time, I was gathering mangoes and she was already unconscious when I found her. Why won't you believe me? ILANA: Because you're speaking.
