***Heidi enters from F3 - Area of Survivor's Camp***
I quietly approached the right side of the open-aired shelter and could see that my assumption from my distant view was right. Sawyer had turned his back toward the supplies. Taking small, careful steps, I entered the right side and turned my gaze from his back to the bandage supplies resting in an open suitcase placed on a small crate.
Squatting down for a better look in the dim light of the bonfires outside, I carefully and quietly shuffled through the various bandages, looking for a smallish rectangular shape one that would suit my wound, not wanting to waste a big scrap despite trying to hurry out of there.

Sawyer had almost been dozing off when suddenly a quiet yet familiar noise was drawing his attention. He knew the sound of someone shuffling through his stuff all too well.
"Hey", Sawyer spoke up as he turned around to face the intruder. There was a moment that he didn't see more than long brown hair and assumed it to belong to Kate, but he quickly reminded himself of that trip she and Jack seemed to have left to. "Where I do come from, people wait with body-stripping till that body's really dead. So, here's bad news:", he added with a sarcastic tone in his voice. "I'm not dead yet."

"Hey",
I thought I was doing well, keeping it down. I froze when his voice interrupted the quiet of the night.
"Where I do come from, people wait with body-stripping till that body's really dead. So, here's bad news:" "I'm not dead yet."
'Though I'm pretty sure there are several people who wish you were,' I thought, keeping my snarky comment to myself. If he wasn't laid out, I might have been a little afraid. As a person who kept to myself, I didn't much notice strangers around me, unless they made themselves noticed. Sawyer had, on several occasions, made himself very noticeable with angry outbursts and a fist fight or two. With a quiet, collective breath, I turned to face him and treaded carefully.
"I'm not taking any of your stuff," I said calmly. "I'm just looking for new bandaging for my leg." To back myself up, I angled the gash near my ankle toward him but didn't offer any other information. Without much excitement or interest available on the island, I was hoping to gain his curiosity. Appeasing it would serve as a good form of distraction. Or a form of payment if he thought he had any right asking for something in exchange for bandages left by Jack. I turned back and finally settled on a bandage, then continued shuffling around for the tape. "I didn't survive a plane crash and a run-in with that thing," I gestured toward the jungle after dangling that juicy information bait, "only to die of some lame infection."
Dammit, where was the tape?

Sawyer was looking down at the girl's bandaged leg rather unimpressed. He didn't care what might have happened. Well, he hadn't cared before she'd mentioned that thing, that was.
"Okay, Ringlet.", Sawyer suddenly said as he sat up a little, more or less comfortable. "I take the bait. What are you talkin' about?"

''Ring--? Oh.' It quickly dawned on me. My eyes went to the locks of my hair that had fallen over my shoulder while stooped over the supplies. Considering the names I'd heard him hurling at others, it was surprising to hear one that wasn't an insult. Then again, by avoiding him, I only ever noticed what he did or said when he was going out of his way to be seen and heard. Bad temper, definitely, but maybe he wasn't as mean and scary as people were making him out to be?
There was no point in contemplating that since I was now actually stuck in a face-to-face with him and would be personally experiencing that shining personality everyone raved about. "I got lost on my way back from the caves," I began, eyes still on the supplies while I continued to try to locate the tape, becoming increasingly annoyed at its elusiveness. Planning to take off as soon as I found it, I kept the story as short as possible. "We stumbled across it, or it stumbled across us, whichever," I waved a hand dismissively. "We ran, got trapped in some hole, then the thing just disappeared." I smacked my hand on the pile of bandages that I'd shifted back and forth probably about five times and made a sound of annoyance. "Did Jack not leave any damn tape," I asked, finally turning toward Sawyer.

"I got lost on my way back from the caves,""We stumbled across it, or it stumbled across us, whichever," "We ran, got trapped in some hole, then the thing just disappeared."
"It? The thing?", Sawyer repeated with a quiet huff. "How about putting in more detail?" This wasn't quite the best day of his life, so his level of annoyance could be achieved in no time, which made his voice sounding harsher than intended. Or maybe the pain all over his body did.
"Did Jack not leave any damn tape,", she eventually asked quite annoyed herself.
"Searchin' for this?", Sawyer asked dryly while holding up the tape Jack had left right next to him. Well, he wouldn't hand it over to her so easy though, not before having heard more of her story. Crazy-ass stuff was happening all around this place and people still withhold information from him just because they weren't trusting him. Who really was to trust anyway?
"You first.", Sawyer said as her hand was starting to reach out to the tape yet him putting it out of her range.

"Searchin' for this?"
I glanced over and sighed with annoyance. What, did he randomly sleep with stuff so people wouldn't be able to take them? Of course he had it and of course he'd let me keep pointlessly digging. Fit the reputation about him going around camp. At least I hadn't come across angry and mean Sawyer. Actually saw that part of him a couple times during scenes he'd made with another survivor and admittedly, it kinda scared me.
I walked over and reached out for it but only caught empty air.
"You first."
"Fine," I huffed. I took in his bedridden state and the bad condition his bandage was in. An idea came to mind but I started with a bit of humor, hoping it would distract him from being crotchety. "Would'a been a very uneventful game of keep-away, anyway. Tell you what. I'll tell you the whole story while I change your bandaging and in exchange, I get to use some of the tape and," I paused to give the effect that I was going to make a big ask, which in his case, might be, "you have to be nice to me."

Sawyer raised an eyebrow while she paused. He kind of liked the way she was carrying on negotiations with him, although not in the way he liked it with Kate.
"you have to be nice to me."
"Granted.", Sawyer replied, despite his bad condition and hence his level of annoyance, with a slight smirk. He rather got doctored by her hands than by Jack's, that was out of question.

Phew. It kinda felt like I'd won the lottery with that one. He was being uncharacteristically obliging, though I only had the times he made himself very noticeable to everyone to go off of. Maybe he wasn't as scary as I'd thought? Or maybe it was because I had an aura that was completely nonthreatening. Whatever the reason, I didn't care. I only hoped it stayed civil.
"Okay then. Let's do this." I looked around, suddenly realizing I had no idea how to 'do this'. I had to draw from what I'd learned from TV and movies. Seeing a small bottle of alcohol, I set into motion. Sterilizing hands and wound. That's what they did first. I twisted off the little cap and poured some of the alcohol on my hands, rubbing them together. I started to reach for the bandage on his arm and was suddenly struck with the worry of causing him pain that would set him off and destroy the fragile accord.
Pausing, I looked at him again. "I've never done this before," I warned. Probably obvious, but still, he couldn't get as pissed with me if I'd given him a heads-up and gotten his permission to proceed anyway. Hopefully...

"Okay then. Let's do this."
Sawyer watched her in silence as she started to get into motion changing his bandage or rather... figuring out how to do it.
"I've never done this before,"
"I'd never have guessed...", he replied right away, and added a slight smile even; a naughty one yet a smile. Maybe this girl really had kind of a completely non-threatening aura that even Sawyer would have felt bad to parade the unfiltered asshole that he could be.

Taking in his tone and smile, I chuckled, feeling myself relax. Friendly sarcasm, casual flirting, and innuendos. That was my comfort zone.
"So I can't promise I'll be gentle," I joked with my own sly smile. "Okay, here goes," I said, starting to unwrap the bandage. My stomach gave a warning hitch at the thought of the upcoming sight of blood. The last thing I wanted to do was throw up on his open wound so I concentrated on telling the story while I tried to continue the task in a detached way. Reliving what had happened to me and Linda wasn't pleasant but it was my part of the deal and a good distraction.
"I was heading back to the beach. I'm horrible with directions so, of course, I got lost..."
I was as detailed as possible, wanting to fully fulfill my end of the deal. I told the whole story, bumping into Linda, the chase, the sights, the sounds, the falling into the pit, the ancient glass bottles of spoiled wine (one broken that had caused the gash on my leg), the long wait and wondering if we'd ever be found, the rescue. The only thing I left out was the sack of ancient items including a journal that we'd found down there.

Sarah had spent the day digging around in the sand, trying to find buried treasure. So far she found some shells, rocks, and a few things that had washed up onshore. She put them in a little pile before sitting down with Mr. Floppers and enjoying a nice fruit snack. She looked over to see Heidi and Gwen but stayed where she was, not wanting to interrupt them. Instead, she grabbed the things she collected and carried them all the way to Mr. Sawyer's tent.
"Mister, you want these?" They were just random personal things that washed up onshore. "I found them and you seem to like things."

"Mister, you want these?"
Sawyer had almost been falling asleep again, when suddenly this voice, an annoying kiddie voice at that, sent him back from his slumber - and not only back to this place but also back to his pain. He didn't spare with a deep sigh and a roll of his eyes while turning his head to the side.
"I found them and you seem to like things."
"I especially like to be alone.", Sawyer muttered, still a little dizzy from the meds. He didn't even bother to take a look at the things she offered to him. What kind of things coming from a kiddie could be of use to him anyway? "Means I ain't interested.", he finally added pretty much dismissive before turning his body back to the other side, in hopes the girl would just leave.

"I especially like to be alone. Means I ain't interested." He didn't even look at her, which was kind of rude but he was hurt. So, she understood some people just wanted to be left.
"I found some good stuff mister, but if you don't wanna em-" She tossed one of the rings by him, it seemed fancy enough. "I find a lot of stuff while digging."

"I found some good stuff mister, but if you don't wanna em-"
And yet again, his eyes were rolling in annoyance, even though she couldn't see that. Then suddenly something got thrown in his direction - straight to the back of his head, at that. A quiet grunting sound left Sawyer's lips when the girl spoke up again.
"I find a lot of stuff while digging."
"Now, that's fab, kiddo.", he suddenly said, not sparing with sarcasm, while turning his head back into her direction at last. "But don't you have to chase after a rabbit or somethin'?"

"Now, that's fab, kiddo.", Sarah knew that Sawyer didn't want to be bothered but he did look lonely. She was also bored and everyone else was talking with someone. She slipped the ring she found on her fingers, which hung closely and the necklace hung a few sizes to big. "But don't you have to chase after a rabbit or somethin'?"
"I'm Sarah, not Alice. Plus, Mr. Floppers doesn't like to run, he has high blood pressure."

"I'm Sarah, not Alice. Plus, Mr. Floppers doesn't like to run, he has high blood pressure."
At that, Sawyer admittedly had to chuckle, although the sound that left his lips had had more of a quiet hiss of amusement than an actual chuckle. It didn't happen often that people actually were reacting to the nicknames and phrases he placed on them, especially not on a... well, how old she might be? - Never mind - a kid. Her words though were leaving some questions regarding her mental state open. Well, probably just a kid thing, but what does he know about that..
Another sigh left him as he realized the girl wasn't leaving for some reason. "Will you leave if I take some of your stuff?", Sawyer asked with a feigned smile on his face, yet not feigned enough to be called a mask. He didn't need one. Nobody was using one when entering his tent either. Yah, this here didn't count - kids tend to talk to bad guys.

"Will you leave if I take some of your stuff?" Sarah shrugged her shoulders, she was going to give the stuff to him but she looked rather pretty.
"I got this left," She pulled out a bottle of Tylenol she found, "It was in someone bag, someone who isn't coming back." She said it rather coldly but she didn't mean to. She didn't really understand feelings, it was foreign to her- at least that is how it used to be.
She had stuck up for Miss Gwen, got very angry when the big guys were bullying her. And when the other guy was picking on Heidi- she didn't like mean people. and even though Mister Sawyer was grumpy, he didn't seem like a bag guy.
"Want it?"

"I got this left," Sawyer looked down at what she was going to offer to him, not expecting anything of use. So he raised an eyebrow when she came up with medication. "It was in someone bag, someone who isn't coming back."
Nice and a little bit cold way to say that it belonged to someone dead now, especially for a kid.
"Want it?", she asked again.
"Sure.", Sawyer replied in a rather sober way. He just hoped that wouldn't cause the kid to come here more often and offer him stuff. "Now leave. I got some other business to do.", Sawyer said as he turned his back towards the girl already to take care of his other business instead - trying to get some sleep until either the next person was going to annoy him or the doc would come back to check on him. In that case that would make a person annoying him and being useful.

"Sure. Now leave. I got some other business to do." Sarah rolled her eyes at his rudeness but smiled at him before he turned away. Once he turned, she dropped the Tylenol and patted his head.
"Bye-bye seƱor grumpypants," Giggling, she skipped off and left him to his brooding.

*** Gwen enters from G3 - Beach and Shore ***
Gwen took a deep breath and tried to steel her nerves. The man was comfortably sleeping in the expansive shelter that he'd made for himself, surrounded by all the passengers' things that he'd taken for himself. He hadn't seen or heard her yet, so there was still a chance to change her mind, turn around and walk away. But there were too many other horrors on this island to let herself be afraid of him.
"Good day, Sawyer," she greeted, tossing a couple of bananas onto his chest left bare by an unbuttoned shirt. "You're supposed to take your antibiotics with food." She took a seat in the sand and opened her backpack to retrieve the apportioned pills for the patient as well as the supplies for changing his bandages. "So eat up, drink up," she advised, unscrewing the top off a water bottle and handing it to him, "and listen to my offer."

During the last couple of days, Sawyer mostly had recovered from his wound, although the medication was still making him feel sleepy and sometimes even dizzy, so he was spending a lot of his time sleeping in his tent.
"Good day, Sawyer," eventually somebody was interrupting his peace.
Still a little tired, Sawyer rose his head, recognizing the attractive but rather mousy stewardess. He couldn't remember ever having had a conversation with her. And still, like everyone, she seemed to be aware of the right way to interact with him, by giving him something that was of his interest or, at least, needed first. Still, he winced a little when a couple of bananas was thrown onto his chest. "Ouch... There are better ways to be woken up by, sweetheart..." Sawyer murmured in his usual arrogant way before she went on talking.
"You're supposed to take your antibiotics with food.""So eat up, drink up,""and listen to my offer."
"Sure, Dr. Quinn. Because time's a-wasting here," Sawyer hissed sarcastically, yet with a smirk on his face. He placed the bananas elsewhere before receiving the water bottle, taking a gulp of it while his eyes were still fixated on the brunette woman and then handing it back. "So, what do you want? A bottle of sun blocker? Or maybe a women's magazine to kill some time?"

"No, I don't need anything from your hoard, Sawyer," Gwen replied, thrilled to have now earned her own nickname. "I need your help. Sebastian's been missing for more than three days. No one's seen him or talked to him, all his things are still here on the beach," she explained, with a wave toward where she'd found his belongings seemingly untouched. "He wouldn't have gone off into the jungle by himself without telling anyone. And he loved his books, he wouldn't have left them exposed to the elements. I'm afraid something bad may have happened." Her brow furrowed in concern, as if speaking the fear would make it real. "So... I'm asking you to help me look for him."

Sawyer followed her gesturing toward a certain direction, although he was still trying to make sense of the fact that, of all people, she asked him to help out with this, in the first place. He didn't even have a clue who that guy was, nor was he interested enough to ask. Aside from his disinterest, Sawyer was also not good with names. That might be connected with this mentioned disinterest, though.
"So... I'm asking you to help me look for him."
"Because we all know I'm head of the welfare program," Sawyer fake-guessed with a sarcastic grin on his lips. Then he raised his hands as if he was silently adding why would I care?

"Because we all know I'm head of the welfare program."
"And we all know you're not the chatty type," Gwen added, in an effort to explain her reasoning. "I'm not looking to panic anyone until I know there's a reason to do so. And you seem like a man who can keep a secret." To be fair, it wasn't so much Sawyer's discretion as it was his ability to alienate practically every other survivor. Either way she was determined to keep her fears to herself for the time being, hence her choice of traveling companion. Besides, rumor had it he'd survived an encounter with a polar bear and came out unscathed.
"Come on, Sawyer," she cajoled, doling out two antibiotic pills from the bottle and placing them in one of his outstretched hands. "I'm offering you a new and exciting experience of helping a fellow human being without any direct benefit to yourself. But if that's not enough incentive, I am of course willing to pay," Gwen stated, producing a pack of cigarettes from her pocket. She'd been holding onto the precious cargo since taking it from Gabe days before, and figured now was as good a time as any to play her trump card.

"And we all know you're not the chatty type,""I'm not looking to panic anyone until I know there's a reason to do so. And you seem like a man who can keep a secret."
She might be right with that, although it depended on the reasoning for him to do so, so she better gave him a good one since he was still seeing no sense in this, not for him, at least.
"Come on, Sawyer,"
Sawyer looked down at the antibiotic pills, still rather uninterested. If he needed medication, he just had to fake some extra pain in front of Jack, and he would get a great cocktail of that in no time, for they all knew that Jack was a little too good for this world.
"I'm offering you a new and exciting experience of helping a fellow human being without any direct benefit to yourself. But if that's not enough incentive, I am of course willing to pay,"
"Now we're talking," he suddenly replied more cooperatively. "But first, you show me how many are still inside," Sawyer insisted. He wouldn't do it for only a couple of cigarettes. That wouldn't be worth his time and especially the effort.

"It's a nearly full pack," Gwen asserted. She held it out close enough for him to see the contents but not snatch them out of her hand. "With payment to be made upon completion of said favor." She may be generous but she wasn't a fool. Nor did she plan to beg for his cooperation. She was becoming more convinced that this was a bad idea and no doubt if she had told Jack, he would have talked her out of it. There had to be someone else who would brave the jungle but also be discreet.
"Time is a-wasting, Tex," she finally said, echoing his own words. She got to her feet and brushed the sand from her jeans. "I'm going to look for him as long as there's daylight. Are you going to cowboy up or not?"

"It's a nearly full pack,""With payment to be made upon completion of said favor."
"Hey, do I look like a con man?" he asked her with his hands held up when she looked like making sure he couldn't snatch the package out of her hand. Okay, to be fair: he'd been one in the past, but nobody around here could know, and also, so far, he'd been an honest barterer.
"Time is a-wasting, Tex,"
Sawyer had to grin at that, for once not even sarcastically.
"I'm going to look for him as long as there's daylight. Are you going to cowboy up or not?"
"Okay, wait, wait, wait," Sawyer stopped her enthusiasm a little while he got to his feet. "I'm comin'. But what if we don't find our missing man? Or find him dead? My reward will be for the effort, right?"
