Severus watched before his mental eye as the two silver strands protruded from Odin's wand, beginning to slide up their hands, wrapped around one another. There was not a single muscle inside of him that would move, no sign that would show the stress crawling up his veins. For a little moment, memories of a similar situation from his past came to the surface of his mind, yet Severus quickly pushed them back deep down. Sure, Odin wouldn't be able to look into his head, or that was what he thought at least, but one who wasn't in full control of their thoughts and feelings was providing with a target, regardless of the opponent being gifted with skills of mental magic or not. Severus wouldn't allow anyone to have control over him. Long gone were those times where he had. Besides, he needed his full concentration now to not miss the right moment. Then, eventually, Odin's voice cut through the thick silence that had been surrounding them. It was about time. And while Odin was forming words to seal the vow, Severus formed words to break away from it. In silence. A technique that was known as... wandless magic, also usually performed nonverbally, not officially taught in any of the wizarding schools and only literary found in books around the restricted sections. "Do you, Severus Snape, promise to remain loyal by my side as we attempt to fulfill the prophecy together?"... N ... O ... X ...Along with the last syllable Odin uttered, all lights around them, once cast by a permanent Lumos spell, immediately shut off. It wouldn't cause entire darkness because of the silver strands that remained around their hands as those hadn't emerged from a wand-lighting charm, but it would be enough to make Odin wonder. A little moment was enough to make use of the only advantage Severus had over Odin. That was to orient himself in the darkness, same as in the bright light. And while Odin got rid of the little astonishment Severus had been able to cause in him, he was using his free hand to produce his own wand from out of his robe. Along with two beats of his heart, there were only two words that would fill the silence now. "Avada Kedavra!"One single teardrop found its way out of Severus' eye and down his cheek. One tear for a man that once had saved him from the cold arms of death, now sent right into those himself, by the hand of the very same man. A life for a life to compensate for his own slip from the Grim Reaper's grasp. Thus the circle closed.

Odin didn't break eye contact once with Severus Snape as he waited for the words that would etch the seal of the promise into their forearms. Manifesting the echoes of a formal 'I will', Odin exhaled a layer of energy that began to vibrate the the stone walls of their enclosure. Pebbles began to rise slowly from the ground to surround the two wizards as every inch of the room in which they stood in grew in dire anticipation. Just waiting for those two words. The silence that filled the air was agonizing, yet Odin vowed to be patient. Calm and collected, Odin knew that Severus would not betray him. He was in too deep. If anything were to happen to him, Odin figured that surely the Society would have Severus's life in vengeance. Odin had lived for many ages and never once let his guard down. Yet, this moment was so pivotal for Odin that he didn't see the tables starting to turn. Snape had caught him where no one else had caught him before - in his most vulnerable state. Fulfilling the prophecy was at Odin's fingertips now, and nothing would get in his way, not even doubt. Raising his eyebrows, Odin tilted his forehead in Severus's direction as to give him permission to proceed with a verbal answer.
Say it... Odin began to chant internally, as he campaigned for Severus to find his words, Say it. Now...,
Wordlessly, the room fell dark as the flickering flames of the burning candles lining the pews and the shrine blew out. Odin's complexion dropped into surprise as his astonished gaze panned from left to right at the candles that now allowed small trails of smoke to fill the darkness around them. As the raised pebbles around them came crashing down to the cobblestone floor, the room grew as cold as a winter's night as the energy left the room. Outwitted, Odin began to feel rather small in front of Severus Snape and after he finished panning the room in shock he looked upon his friend. Dropping his hand from Severus's arm, the magical silver strands that cascaded their forearms disappeared into thin air as the unbreakable vow was called off. A forced smile played upon his lips as a scoffed laughter burst from his chest. Severus Snape now had to die. Odin began to move his lips to muster a 'well done, my friend,' yet it was clear that Severus had heard enough from the mouth of the serpent.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A bolt of green light flashed before Odin's eyes and straight into his chest. Odin gasped, his mouth hung open as his widened eyes were glued to Severus, the very man that beat him at his own game. Doubling backwards a few steps, Odin clutched onto his chest as he sank to his knees.
"Severus...," Odin managed to forcefully whisper out as his cracking voice turned decrepit, the life beginning to leave his body. His panging, swelling red eyes dawned on his old friend one last time before they closed. The halted Grim of concrete and stone sprang back to life, throwing the pew angrily into the side of the wall as the life force of his master began to fade. The Grim lunged forward, yet instead of striking Severus Snape, he scooped up Odin into his stony claws. Carrying Odin's body which began to grow limp, The Grim gave one glance up to the ceiling before flapping it's wings and bursting through, carrying Odin out of sight and out of mind.

Severus was not even granted a little moment to grieve about his loss; After all, Odin had been a friend to him for many years. Once The Grim had taken the dead body with it, an action that he didn't have to see with his eyes to know happening, the doors behind him got pushed open with a loud noise of their rusty locks. They were here - Odin's loyal adherents. Severus knew that this would happen. And so he hadn't been unprepared, of course.
It was the same time an angry mob of witches and wizards started to approach him with their wands that the doors of the facing wall were opening, as well. The war had already begun long before Severus had taken their leader's life in this very room, the community fractured from deep within.
While one mob attacked the other, Severus started to absent himself from the battlefield. This war might have begun with his action, but it was not his to fight right here, right now. He was no coward, but he had just fulfilled his part for now. This was the fight of the witches and wizards who had pledged allegiance to him, in return for his promise of overthrowing the head of their community.
With slow steps, Severus left the room that soon became a place soaked in blood. After all, he was but a tired blind man, not even sure himself about how to go on after this. Would he be able to guide the society of The Unknown himself, to follow in the steps of Odin Markell? A legend had died today. Who was he to disvalue all the great things that man had accomplished, same as the generosity with which he had given all of them a new life and home? But what was left from it now? Was that even the life he had planned for himself after freeing them all? Was he even free, after all? Or did he still have to live a life that felt like not his own?
With sadness in his dull eyes and distant echoes in his head, Severus continued his steps.
Time would probably tell...
