Argentinean helmer Alejandro Agresti will be directing Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in a remake of the popular Korean film Il Mare.

In a throwback to the days of Speed, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock will team up on the big screen for the dramatic romancer Il Mare for Warner Bros. Argentinean director Alejandro Agresti is at the helm of the project, which will start shooting this March in Chicago.
The project, a remake of a popular Korean film of the same name, was adapted by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer David Auburn. The story centers on a lonely doctor, played by Bullock, and a down-on-his-luck architect (Reeves) who both lived in the same house - but two years apart. Slowly the pair begins to fall in love through letters they've written to each other and placed in an enigmatic mailbox that bridges time.
Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Doug Davison will serve as the producers on the project, with Mary McLaglen taking executive producing credit. Erwin Stoff, a manager-producer at 3 Arts Entertainment, will be taking some form of producing credit.
Bullock, repped by CAA, will soon be seen in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, also for Warners, which will be released in March. Her other recent credits include Two Weeks Notice, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood and Murder by Numbers.
Also repped by CAA, Reeves has been spending much of the past several years on The Matrix trilogy for Warners. In addition to those films, he has been seen in Something's Gotta Give and Hard Ball. Next up for the actor is Constantine, which will be on screens in February.
