***Rose, Red, and Mary enter from Woods - Aurora/Briar Rose and her Aunts' Cabin***
***5 Years BDC***
Rose stepped past the border of trees marking the end of her land and into the world beyond. After a couple steps, a gust of wind came whooshing from her right, circling around her like a strange cyclone, knocking the hood of her cloak down before it moved on. A tingling went down her spine but she attributed it to the chilly temperature and icy gust of wind.
She turned back toward Red and Mary who still stood within the edge of the border and gave them a reassuring smile. "See? Everything is fine," she said as pulled the hood back up.

REGINA
Regina laughed and stepped out of the shadows, as the three of them entered the forest. Regina stood behind and smiled "Yes, everything's fine" Regina said, applauding and walking up next to the three princesses. Regina looked at the three of them, "Hello Aurora, Red and..." Regina paused looking at Snow "Mary". Regina waved her hand and removed her mask and hood revealing her true identity, as The Evil Queen. "Did you really think you could hide from me here?" Regina said, with a smirk as she stood there in front of the three princesses.

"Yes, everything's fine."
The unexpected voice made Red jump and whirl around to face the strange woman who had seemed to just appear as they crossed the line of trees. Where did she come from? Red hadn't heard anyone coming, no signs of the forest having any other occupants in the area...it was like she had manifested in the darkness that she took cover in. As the dark woman approached them, Red instinctively moved in front of her traveling companions and took a protective stance.
"Hello Aurora, Red and..." "Mary".
A gasp came from behind her as the strangers face melted into that of a beautiful but sinister woman. Magic. The woman was just oozing with dark magic. Red had so many questions- who was this woman? How did she know who they were? And most importantly, why did it seem like Mary knew her?
"Did you really think you could hide from me here?"
"I should have known better." Mary responded, a hint of resignation in her voice. Maybe this was the past that she had been working so hard to escape from. Well, Red wasn't about to let it catch up to her.
"You will not come near her." The young werewolf stated, the threat implied in her tone rather than in her words.

"Yes, everything's fine"
Rose had expected reassurance from her traveling companions standing before her and had jumped as it came from behind her, dripping with sarcasm. She turned and backed up to stand by Red and Mary.
"Hello Aurora, Red and..." "Mary". "Did you really think you could hide from me here?"
Aurora? That was the name spoken by this dark and powerful woman as her eyes had flitted across her. She'd mistaken her for someone else but seeing how she and Red were easily dismissed, she figured the woman didn't particularly care who they were. The woman in black's full concentration and anger were directed at Mary.
"I should have known better."
Rose's eyes flitted to Mary. She not only confirmed her acquaintance but appeared defeated at this woman's mere presence. Rose found herself shrinking back.
"You will not come near her."
Rose's eyes widened at Red's bravado. Her impulse to stand up for Mary was indeed noble and brave but the way power radiated off this stranger, it was also impulsive and foolish. Rose reached out and grabbed Red's arm.
"Red," she whispered. "The circle of trees," she said with a quick glance back. They weren't too far from the protective circle. Could they make it back over?

REGINA
"Yes, you should have known better" Regina said, looking at Snow. Regina let out a slow laugh as Red stood in front of 'Mary' in an attempt to stop her. "Do you really think you can stop me?" Regina said, with a smirk as she stared at the three of them. "Why of all places would you come here?" Regina asked, looking at where they were. This was the kingdom of the person that kept Snow away from her beloved Charming. Regina looked back at them and then specifically at Snow, "Oh, they don't know who you are do they?"

"Red," "The circle of trees,"
That was all Rose needed to say. Red didn't know exactly what the line of trees would do but she had a feeling that it was their only chance.
"Do you really think you can stop me?"
"No." Red replied truthfully. She knew full well that she was likely no match for the woman before her, especially when she didn't know how to control the wolf. It would be suicide to try. But that was something she knew this woman wouldn't be counting on. "Fortunately I have nothing left to lose. I don't care if I die but I promise you that by the time you get through me, these two will be long gone."
"No! Red, I can't let you do that." Mary pushed past her friend to face the Evil Queen head on. "Regina, I'm the one that you want. They've done nothing to you. Let them go."
"Oh, they don't know who you are do they?"
"No." Mary answered, "They don't know anything." Red nonchalantly reached back to squeeze Rose's forearm. A signal. It was about time for them to make their exit.
"It doesn't matter who she is." she interjected, defiantly placing a hand onto Mary's upper arm, "She is my friend and I am not letting you take her anywhere." Her other hand, carefully hidden behind Mary's body, dipped into the satchel Rose had given her that morning. It was only a moment before her fingers closed around the object she desired. With a quick plea to the gods to let this work, the full, heavy water skin was flying through the air. With great accuracy that Red was postive she'd never be able to recreate, it hit the low branch over the woman's head and sent a cascade of ice and snow crashing down on top of her. It wouldn't stop her for long, Red knew. The distraction was all they needed. Her grip tightened on Mary's arm as she turned and ran for the tree line.

Regina watched them walk away, furious as to what Red did to her. She tried to escape, but, had trouble with it. She knew how to make fireballs and began trying to do it in order to break the ice and snow prison she was now in. It was slightly easy and she was out in no time, however, she had now lost Snow again.
She had a feeling where they were going, she decided to take another route and meet them there. Regina with a smirk on her face began to head down a different path.

At Red's signal, Rose felt herself loosen up enough to prepare for a mad dash. As soon as the woman's attention was off them, she followed suit with the other two and made a mad dash for the circle of trees.

A colourful fog established in front of Regina, just at the last short metres away from her revenge on Snow White. It was Rumpelstiltskin, disrupted these little area out of control. His control of course. That was neither the right time, nor the right place for her performance. But before he directed towards her, Rumpel turned to Snow White to have an urgent look at her. So this was the woman let Regina cracked up everytime? Then again he faced Regina. A short highly-voiced giggle came out his mouth.
"Not here...", he sayed, raising up his finger. "Not now.", he added.

Regina was furious as she saw that the annoying little imp had shown up. "What do you want?" Regina asked with a hiss, looking at Rumpelstiltskin. Regina couldn't believe that this guy was getting in her way of getting her revenge on Snow again.
Regina looked at Snow and watched as she was getting away. Regina looked at the imp furious as he walked in front of her, stopping her from getting close to Snow. "What did you just do" Regina asked through clenched teeth.

Rumpelstiltskin just gifted her a grin. Why does this woman always forget about WHO told her everything about magic and showed her how to use it... Tzz.
"You are blind with hate for now, deary.", Rumpel sayed, nearly cut in her words, as he would have talk to a defiant kid. "I didn't do...", he then improved her. "I DO!" And with a highvoiced giggle the colourful fog from before was the only thing left from Regina and Rumpelstiltskin, as his magic brought her away from here. Away from that wrong place. Wrong time.

Rose peeked out from behind the tree she'd been pressed up against in time to see a strange man and Regina vanish into thin air. She cautiously stepped out. "Did you see that?" she asked in wonder. She'd never seen such a thing. "It was like magic."
"Not like magic. It was magic," Mary said, looking at Rose sideways. "You've never seen--" she stopped short, remembering this was Rose's first time out in the world. "Right. It's more common than you'd think. Be careful who you trust. People--and things--aren't always what they seem."
Rose nodded in acknowledgment. Speaking of people not being what they seemed, she glanced once more at Mary, recalling that the woman in black had gotten Mary to admit that she and Red didn't know who Mary really was.

"Did you see that?" "It was like magic."
Red gave a small smile at the wonder in Rose's voice, even after the close call they had just had. She had a feeling that there would be many moments during this adventure that she would hear it. But even Red was a bit astonished by what they had just seen. Magic, as common as it was in the world, was not something practiced regularly in the village and certainly not on that scale. Though, she supposed bemusedly, a girl turning into a werewolf was pretty magical in itself.
"Not like magic. It was magic," "You've never seen--" "Right. It's more common than you'd think. Be careful who you trust. People--and things--aren't always what they seem."
"We have a lot to learn." Red admitted, turning back to Mary. She didn't want to push the girl but if this woman...this Regina was after them... Something nagged at the back of Red's mind but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. "Do you think that she will return?"
"I think that we are safe for the moment but...she will return." Mary seemed conflicted, "I should go. As long as I am with you, you are both in grave danger."
"If you go running off on your own, you will be in even graver danger." Red countered. "Mary, that did not seem like the kind of woman you can go up against on your own." The girl did not seem convinced though. Red decided to switch tactics. "At least stay with us until we can find a safe place to leave you." After a few moments, Mary hesitantly nodded her consent. "Good. Now, we should probably hurry. Rose's aunts will be waking soon and I think it's a good idea that we get as far away from here as possible."
As the group began to move on, she turned back to Rose and said in a hushed tone, "Are you still sure that you want to do this?"

Rose looked back toward the direction of the cabin. Safe, but at the cost of not really living. Just she and her aunts but what would come of her when they were gone? She would grow old and die alone. Nobody to grow old with. No memories to keep her company as she withered away. She looked back ahead to the unknown. Potential danger but adventure. People. Experiences. Living. Perhaps even love. Her stomach fluttered at the last.
"Yes," she said with a confident smile despite what had just occurred. "I'm positively sure."
She started moving again, keeping close to the other two. Stay close and keep together.
"Mary, you've traveled these woods. Do you know of a place where we can be safe, at least through the night?"

"Mary, you've traveled these woods. Do you know of a place where we can be safe, at least through the night?"
Red looked at Mary expectantly. There just had to be somewhere- a place where they would be safe enough to regroup and figure out what they were doing. Mary looked thoughtful for a moment before quietly replying, as if someone could be listening in, "We won't reach it tonight but if we move quickly we can be there in a day or two. Before I came here, there was a man who gave me shelter and taught me how to survive. I'm sure that he will do the same for the three of us. Robin is an honorable man."
"Alright then. Let's go see Robin." Red confirmed, following Mary as she took the lead. "We'll get as far as we can today before we need to make camp for the night."
Once they were on their way, Red tried to keep her thoughts and senses focused on the woods surrounding them. She did not want to be taken by surprise again. And it helped keep her thoughts from Peter and the events of the night before. The girls traveled for some time through the forest, avoiding the royal hunting grounds with their new destination in mind. As they walked, Red found that she could differentiate between the hundreds of tiny animal heartbeats surrounding them. Might be a handy skill if they needed to hunt. Not for the first time, she wished that she had her bow with her. With no weapon between the three of them, Red felt awfully vulnerable. Mary spoke up as they came towards a clearing.
"This is a good place to stay for the night. It is getting late in the day and we should find what we need."
It was not lost on Red that Mary still had yet to share her story with them. She couldn't deny that it hurt a bit that this girl who knew her darkest secret didn't trust her enough to tell her name.
Why would she trust you when you could tear her throat out, Wolf.
The unbidden thought took Red off guard. But it was true. "I'm...I'm going to look for some firewood." Red said as she hurriedly walked back into the forest, not wanting the others to see the tears pricking at her eyes.

Rose was unaware how much time had passed and how far they'd traveled until Mary spoke.
"This is a good place to stay for the night. It is getting late in the day and we should find what we need."
They'd traveled for quite a distance in silence leaving only the sounds of animals and the rustle of the wind through the trees and of the foliage as they moved through the forest that the sound of a voice seemed foreign.
She blinked at her surroundings, noting for the first time that they were losing light. It was only then that she realized how deep in thought she'd been. To have traveled all that distance and for all that time to have passed without realizing. She scolded herself for her carelessness. She should be alert and aware of her surroundings, keeping her eyes and ears open for any of the countless dangers her aunts warned about, especially with that frightening woman after Mary.
Rose found her gaze on Mary, wondering about her story. Who was that woman and why did she have such hatred in her eyes when she looked upon Mary? What could Mary, or anyone for that matter, have done to evoke such hatred?
"I'm...I'm going to look for some firewood."
Rose pulled her gaze away from Mary, catching only a glimpse of Red's expression as she disappeared through the trees. Rose wanted to go after her but she knew her friend well.
"She needs a little time to herself," Rose said, noting that Mary eyed the spot Red had disappeared through.
"And time we shall give her. But not too much. It is not safe, being alone in these woods."
"But you have been managing for some time now." Rose was answered in silence. "We are putting our trust in you, Mary. Perhaps we are due a little in return? I am not asking that you divulge all. Only whatever may help us in understanding what you are up against, should we encounter her again."
Snow couldn't help the smile that tugged at her lips at the look of complete trust and sincerity on Rose's face. Perhaps there was something good to say about being shut away safe and sound, away from and ignorant of the cruelties that life and people dealt you. To be able to view the world with child-like innocence as an adult must be wonderful. But dangerous.
"I'll consider it. But Rose?" Snow pinned her with a gaze, trying to stress the importance of her words. "Be careful. Trust should be earned. Not given freely."

You're a monster.
It did not take long for Red's hurried walk to turn into a run after she left the view of the campsite. The few tears now consumed her vision. The forest of trees became nothing more than a mere blur of white, green and brown flying past her. Liquid drops rolling down her cheeks seemed to leap from her face with the rush of the wind she created. Still, she didn't stop.
You're a monster. You're a monster. You're a monster.
The mantra kept with her, no matter how hard she tried to push it from her mind or how fast she ran. Still, she sped forward, narrowly avoiding any obstacles the forest threw her way by reflex alone. Finally spent, she fell hard against the trunk of a large oak, the silent tears turning into body racking sobs. It was only then that her thoughts expressed themselves out loud in a painful whimper, "You're a monster."

"I do hear that quite often, but don't you think we should introduce first, deary?", suddenly a creepy sounding voice came from behind the tree, Red was leaning at.
Without giving her time to react, Rumpelstiltskin appeared from his hideout. With his big eyes he was watching the woman with the tears in hers. Probably she had no idea that he knew about what she has done. But maybe she would recognize him... his little appearance a short while ago. Only just a few minutes ago he has left Regina, planted the idea about the best possibillity to get her revenge on Snow White. But there was something he wanted to have from Snow White. Something very important to create the curse. Of course on a day in the future, but he would have to make clear, that she will be willing to make a deal with him on that day in the future. And this woman could be the key to it...

"I do hear that quite often, but don't you think we should introduce first, deary?"
Red jumped back as the man appeared in front of her. He hadn't been there before. She knew that she had been alone. Where did he come from? "Who are you?" she took another step away from him, warily examining the strange looking man who had seemingly just blinked into existence. It only took a moment for recognition to wash over her followed by fear. "You were with that woman. The one who was after Mary."
Any thoughts she may have had of trying to out run him back to the camp vanished. There was no way she could take the risk of leading him back to Mary and Rose. But what if that woman was with him? What if she already found the camp? So many questions and not enough answers...

"Who are you?", she was terrified shouting out, took some steps away from him.
Rumpelstiltskin kept watching at her wordlessly, as she again raised to speak.
"You were with that woman. The one who was after Mary."
Mary, huh? A knowing smile appeared on Rumpelstiltskin's lips. Obviously Snow White didn't felt enough connected to them yet, to told her true name. That would make things much easier than expected. The grin on his face was broadening. "Actually...", Rumpel finally replied, raising up his finger. "I prohibited that woman from killing her, didn't I?" With an undefinable look he stared at Red. She really had no idea who that woman really was, hadn't she? And she either had no idea who Mary really was. It had to stay like this, at least until she would have excepted the deal. And she will. That was for sure.

The look on his face was unnerving. A grin seemed out of place on the gold skin and his eyes held something that wasn't joy.
"Actually...", "I prohibited that woman from killing her, didn't I?"
"You made her disappear...we saw it as we were running." Red agreed after a slight hesitation. She didn't get a good feeling from this man- if you could even call him that. He may have saved them but he seemed far from altruistic. He must have a want for something, but what could he possibly want from her? "You never answered my question. Who are you?"

Of course she couldn't deny that he had helped them out. Probably she won't look at him as the good guy, but this was enough. Enough to let her feel indebted to him.
"You never answered my question. Who are you?"
"Oh, of course! Where were my manners?" Where they usually were... behind him. "Rumpelstiltskin!", he continued with a deep bow. He wondered if the woman has ever heard of him. Actually who wouldn't? His eyes kept watching her urgently, as his body raised up from the bow.

"Oh, of course! Where were my manners?" "Rumpelstiltskin!"
She had heard the name before but only in hushed and fearful tones around her village. Most believed him to be legend but even the least superstitious had never been willing to say his name louder than a whisper lest they summon the Dark One to them. Red had never truly believed in the stories passed from generation to generation. But now the legend stood before her and she was immediately aware of the danger that brought. But why was he standing before her? What could make the most powerful evil being of the realm seek out a simple village girl? Though...could he know? Panic blossomed in her chest but she kept it from reaching her face. If by some chance he didn't, she certainly wasn't going to give it away. She squared her shoulders, making sure to look him right in the eye.
"I have heard of you," she replied evenly, "Though I don't know what someone like me could offer you. I have nothing of worth."

Judging by her face expression she had heard about him. Probably no rainbow stories. Rumpelstiltskin replied her look right in the eye.
"I have heard of you,""Though I don't know what someone like me could offer you. I have nothing of worth."
"Ah!", Rumpel almost cut in her words, raising up his finger. "Let me first tell you my offer, dearie." Nothing of worth... he repeated in his thoughts. Does she really think he would be interested in such trivial things? Again he reduced the distance between them, giving her an insincere smile. "I...", he began slowly. "...can help you!" and ended up in a fast highvoiced exclamation. He waited. Ask! Now ask! Rumpelstiltskin always enjoyed that game.

"I...can help you!"
She swallowed hard, her mouth having gone dry. Something about the way that he said that...he knew. He had to know who she was...what she did. Could he really help her? Was this the answer to all the prayers she had offered up? Regardless of the danger, a small glimmer of hope began to grow and her defenses collapsed.
"Peter...can you bring him back?" She was not able to mask the desperation that shown through her eyes. The heartache. It wouldn't have been possible had she tried. Red closed the remaining space between them. If he could do that...she would give anything he asked.

"Peter...can you bring him back?", she suddenly heard her asking, desperation shown on her face.
Actually that was not the question he had expected. He didn't expect her to going on that upfront after all. His astonishment was even readable for one moment, as Red closed the remaining space between them. "Magic is able to do everything.", Rumpelstiltskin lastly began to respond. "...but that.", he ended up, accompanied his words with a movement of his hand, watching the changing expression on the woman's face. That boy was as dead as mutton. Nothing could change that. But she shall know that he was able to help her though. "But besides that...", he added with a creepy sounding undertone in his voice. "I bet there is something else you could need help with. Or what did that monster phrase suppose to mean, dearie?" His creepy looking eyes again watched her urgently. She anyway would be aware of he was knowing about her little secret by now.

"Magic is able to do everything." "...but that."
And in the blink of an eye, that small flame of hope was extinguished. The grief hit harder this time, knocking the air from her lungs and filling her eyes with the tears that never seemed to be far away now. Leaving her feeling so incredibly lost... Like there was no joy or happiness left for her in the world and that knowledge made all the worse because she only had herself to truly blame for it. Before she could sink deeper into her self pity, Rumpelstiltskin's voice cut through it like a hot blade through butter.
"But besides that...""I bet there is something else you could need help with. Or what did that monster phrase suppose to mean, dearie?"
What? So absorbed with Peter, she hadn't even considered the possibility of asking Rumpelstiltskin about her lycanthropy. There was no chance to change what had already happened, maybe she could change the future yet. With Rumpelstiltskin's help this curse afflicting her could be wiped away or, at least, controlled. Control of the wolf would mean so many things. Not only could she protect Rose and Mary from herself but anything else the world threw at them. But, if the stories of her village were to be believed, it would mean a deal with the devil himself. Her hand brushed away a stray tear as she whispered in a broken voice, "You can do something about it?"

Rumpelstiltskin studied her mind changing every further second. She was interested. Of course she was. How asinine she actually was. She and all the others, who were holding some kind of power and wanted to discard it. But that was just to his advantage.
"You can do something about it?", she finally whispered with a broken voice.
"Of course I can!", Rumpel spat out loud. With a quieter voice, bending over to her, he added: "After all, you are far away from being a monster, dearie. It's not like..." Rumpel's look raised up, as he would have to think about the right comparison. "...you would have ripped out the boy's heart or something.", he lastly ended his sentence with an indefinable look on his face. Who would be able to do something like that...? Oh, of course... he!

"Of course I can!" "After all, you are far away from being a monster, dearie. It's not like..." "...you would have ripped out the boy's heart or something."
Something about Rumpelstiltskin's face, his voice- they gave her the distinct feeling that he might know a thing or two about ripping out hearts. Her hand unconsciously rose to her chest, feeling the gentle thumping of her own heart. What atrocities had this man been party to in his life? It was ridiculous for her even to be considering it when the voice of common sense still left was screaming at her to run. That voice was left unheeded as the gory visage of what she had done was still etched into her mind, always present. What did it matter that she didn't have the wolf's memories when her imagination could supply the most horrifying surrogates? It could never happen again, that much Red knew. And there was only one way she could be sure.
"Wh...what is your price?"
