The Flame StationThe Flame is the Dharma Initiative's communication station. It uses sonar and satellite technologies to communicate with the outside world and other stations on the Island, and can also be used to order food deliveries. Unlike the other stations, the Flame is not an underground bunker, but rather a wood-frame bungalow with a large satellite dish on the roof. Inside the station is a living area, a kitchen, and a computer room. Below the building is a large basement containing supplies, including a library of Dharma Initiative operations manuals. The facility also boasts several gardens, as well as chickens, cows, and goats roaming the area. Location found in box E3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

Day 2
Ben knew the island like the back of his hand; he knew the shortest, safest routes anywhere. He knew where Rousseau was likely to be, he knew where polar bear territory was. The pair of them reached Mikhail's station in no time. He tried his walkie-talkie, but as usual the Russian loner didn't have his only line of communication on. "He never has his walkie on," grumbled Ben. For a man who was able to count technological expertise as one of his many talents, he was averse to having two-way conversations. Ben had once found bugs in one of the last Dharma vans before they stopped using them. He had absolutely no idea where Mikhail had gotten them, and after thorough investigation the only explanation was that he'd brought them with him on his first day. Ben had decided to pick his battles with that one. "Mikhail! It's Ben. I'm here with Juliet, we're approaching the house. Don't shoot us..."

JULIET
She'd never been to this building but judged by the satellite dish that it was some sort of communications hub. One that also played host to a variety of livestock. "What are we doing here?" she asked.
"Mikhail! It's Ben. I'm here with Juliet, we're approaching the house. Don't shoot us..."
A tall white-haired man with a black eye patch appeared in the doorway. "Well hurry up then. Did you see it?" he asked Ben excitedly as he ushered them into the building.

"A plane fell out of the sky, Mikhail," deadpanned Ben. "Of course we saw it. What do you have so far?"
Mikhail settled himself in front of a bank of monitors. Each one showed something different; footage of the plane at Sydney Airport, talking heads and shots of personal information. The man certainly didn't waste time.
"Oceanic Flight 815. Left Sydney Australia headed for Los Angeles, 324 people onboard including the flight crew." "I want detailed files on every single passenger." "Already working on it." The one-eyed Russian smiled smugly before turning back to his work.
"Can we upload to Richard in Acadia Park, please," said Ben, reaching for a set of headphones. He turned to Juliet. "Yesterday you called me a liar. I was hurt by that."
Ben directed his voice into the headphone speaker. "Hello, Richard can you hear me?"
Richard's voice was delayed by a few seconds, and when it came through it was impacted by heavy static. "I have you, Ben. Got the paper. Ready when you say."
"Notice today's date, this is live," said Ben, and then into the speaker, "OK, Richard."
The camera panned out, and then shifted toward another view. A view Ben knew Juliet would recognize.

JULIET
Her ears perked up at the mention of Acadia Park, so close to her home away from the island. But it couldn't be the same place. That seemed a world and a lifetime away. Only the newspaper on the monitor was showing her today's date, and then it was showing her a view of her sister enjoying the playground with a little boy.
"Rachel?" she breathed, the name feeling foreign on her tongue. Her eyes filled with tears as she ran to the monitor for a closer look. "Oh my god. Oh! Oh my god!"

Ben wanted her to keep watching. He wanted to just let her see, and to smile. But that wasn't the world they lived in. "A little over two years ago, to everyone's complete surprise, Rachel's cancer went into complete remission," he said flatly. "Shortly after she gave birth to a healthy baby boy."
He looked from Juliet to the screen, letting the impact of the next sentence hang in the air. "His name is Julian."
"Ben?" asked Richard. He held onto his headphones. "OK, thank you Richard. You'll wanna get back here as soon as you can; we may have some new visitors." The monitor went blank.

JULIET
Rachel was okay. Better than that, she'd finally been able to have a son. A beautiful boy named Julian. She quietly watched the image, soaking up every detail until it was suddenly gone. "Oh, god! No! No!" she cried, willing Mikhail or Ben to bring her sister back.

Ben fell back into his position of authority, of power, with a simple statement. "I''m not a liar, Juliet."

JULIET
Her shock and sadness reduced her to a simple, tearful plea. "I want to go home."
