As Maggie tried to comfort Glenn, she could almost forget everything. The world they lived in, the dangers they faced. It could just be the two of them for just a moment...
"We've to go!"
A shout came from downstairs. Maggie lifted her head. Was that Beth? Immediately she was on her feet and running for the bedroom door.
"Maggie? Glenn..? Where are you? We've to disappear from here!"
She ran out into the hallway just as Beth reached the landing. Her big sister instincts kicked in at the worried expression on her face and she threw her arms around her. "Are you okay?" Her first thought was that the men they had just driven from the house had reinforcements arrive. If one of those lunatics dared to touch her sister... She pulled away just enough to see Beth's face. "Beth, what is it? What's wrong?"

Nate
Nate rolled over and got to his feet as a petite blonde ran past him up the stairs. All he heard was an engine start and he couldn't help but curse his luck today. Glancing from the door to the stairs and back again he bolted out of the house.
Jumping into the passenger seat the van peeled out and sped backwards down the driveway barely missing T-Dog and slammed into the suburban containing Lori and Carl. Both vehicles showed the impact but otherwise remained intact. A shotgun blast from Hershel's weapon changed that as it struck the rear passenger door shattering the window and spraying red into the front seat. Someone was hit but the van accelerated down the road and out of range.

Glenn felt Maggies soft touch and the warmth of her contiguity gave him a strenght he would never undreamed of. Still he felt like a coward for not intervening in that battle between Daryl, Rick and those crooks. On the other hand they still were human and some month ago murder was one of the severest possible crimes. Again he wished to talk to Dale who he'd always had consulted since the apocalypse began. Exhausted he leaned back against the bed when he noticed Beth.
"Maggie? Glenn..? Where are you? We've to disappear from here!"
In a split second he was again on his feet, following Maggie in the hallway where she already found Beth. Fortunately she wasn't hold by that bat. He also wanted to ask Beth some questions but realized the both sisters would maybe need some time alone after what have happened here. "I'll wait downstairs, ok?" was all he said before he went down. At the bottom of the stairs he recognized Daryl. "Hey, everything ok? Thanks a lot for the help up there..." He wasn't really good at such things so embarrassed he looked out the widely opened front door to driveway. The Van had disappeared and so would the gang he thought. His look moved over to the street and their cars and suddenly his blood freezed. There was a herd like that which had overrun the farm. For a second he wasn't able to move but then twirled around his feet. "Mag, Beth we really got to go. Now!" Silently he praiyed that it wasn't to late to leave the house...

Daryl
Daryl got to his feet taking in a sharp breath at the pain in his side. Probably bruised a couple ribs, he hoped that was the worst of it.
"Hey, everything ok? Thanks a lot for the help up there..." Glenn said as he came down beside him.
"I'm fine," before he could complete that thought Daryl heard the commotion outside as Carol, Lori, and Carl came running into the house followed by T-Dog and Hershel.
"Help me pull this," T-Dog cried to anyone as he started moving a china cabinet from the living room.
Daryl, Hershel, and Rick joined him as the latter came down the stairs behind them. They turned it on it's side laying it down to brace against the broken front door. They backed that up with the couch as well for added support. Daryl then turned back to the stairs and ran to the top, he retrieved his fallen crossbow. Trying not to make a big show of it he slid the arrow out of the weapon and plunged it into the heads of the fallen men who had attacked them, one after the other. Wiping it clean on one of their shirts he then replaced it in the slot to be ready to fire. Daryl made eye contact with Beth over Maggie's shoulder and gave her a nod for strength. Taking the steps two at a time he rejoined the others downstairs.
"I don't think they saw us, that van made an awful racket tearin up the road," T-Dog mumbled trying to keep quiet. Silently he reached out and turned the small deadbolt lock on the door. Hopefully that held even though the frame by the knob had been cracked. Every little bit helped.

Beth breathed out, as Maggie rushed out a room, threwing her arms around her.
"Are you okay?"
Beth gave her just a little nod. She was so relieved Maggie was alive. Everyone was, she certainly hoped.
"Beth, what is it? What's wrong?", Maggie asked her with a worried expression in her face.
"I'll wait downstairs, ok?", Glenn suddenly appeared beside them.
"Walkers.", Beth just sayed to Maggie with a little pause of hestitance using such word. Just in that moment she wanted to say something else, she heard T-Dog's voice from downstairs.
"Mag, Beth we really got to go. Now!"
Before they could have reacted, Daryl was climbing up the stairs. He focused two dead men, laying on the ground. Beth had realised them just now. With a look over Maggie's shoulder, she watched Daryl plunging down his weapon right into their heads. Beth's eyes were wide open and she had to swallow, as she realised the ease Daryl and the others killed. Particularly they had not been transformed into zombies. Over her sister's shoulder his eyes watched her too, giving her a little nod, while passing them to went back downstairs recompany the others. Beth even stood there like she was frozen, hearing the voices downstairs.

Hershel
He took a moment to look around at the faces around him. Hershel fixed Glenn with a stare as he saw he was hurt. "Glenn, what happened to you? How are you feeling?" He looked again, everyone was accounted for except for Beth and Maggie. "Where are my girls, are they alright?" He reached the base of the stairs and saw the two still holding each other at the top. He relaxed a little but was still very off balance. He had no idea what had transpired in the house and he wanted to be sure everyone was going to be okay.

"Walkers."
The single word froze the blood in Maggie's veins. It wasn't enough that they had been attack by human assailants, now the undead had to have a go at them too. Glenn was right, they should have listened to his bad feeling about this place.
"Mag, Beth we really got to go. Now!"
Glenn's voice floated up the stairs but before Maggie could react, everyone from the convoy outside was barreling into the front door. Barricading it. Why weren't they all leaving? Suddenly Daryl rushed up the stairs, dispatching the two dead men laying not far from herself and Beth before they could turn. She held her sister closer, feeling her tense up at Daryl's actions and knowing just how hard it was for her to accept. It had been for Maggie too at first but now she knew that it was the most humane thing to do for those men and the thing that would keep them safe. Beth would learn that too, eventually.
"They were not good men, Bethy. Daryl couldn't let them turn." Maggie didn't know what else to say or even if she was making the situation any better. But there was no time, they had to move. "We have to go help now. We all have things we need to do, right?" Almost like repeating her father's mantra had summoned him, Hershel appeared at the bottom of the stairs. Maggie wanted nothing more than the run down into his arms, cry into his shoulder about what was happening, have him tell her that everything would be okay. Instead she led Beth down the stairs to him and grasped his hand with a whispered, "I'm okay, daddy." To ease the worried lines that wrinkled across his face. Leaving Beth with him, Maggie hurried across the room to get a covert glance out the window. The sound, even through the walls, was deafening. As she took in the hundreds of walkers ambling down the street, her mouth began to feel as dry as cotton. Carefully, she drew the curtains shut so as not to arouse the attention of the horde. She spied her firearm laying close to the barricaded door and quickly scooped it up, checking it to make sure it was ready to fire if need be. All the was left to do was sit and wait it out.

"Glenn, what happened to you? How are you feeling?"
Before they were able to leave the house the others left their cars and started to barricade in the building. Glenn looked over to Hershel who was visibly concerned about all of them. Hastily he tried to calm him. "It's ok... Beth and Maggie are fine. They are upstairs." For some strange reason he had the feeling to justify himself and to prove it wasn't his fault Maggie got caught by those assailants. Therefore he was pretty relieved when Hershel passed him and T-Dog asked them to help barricading the front door. It wasn't enough to held all the walker from entering the house but with some luck the walker would pass by without even noticing they were here.
When Maggie went into the adjacent room he followed her but stopped at the entrance. He didn't wanted to impose on her and for a moment he just watched her silently. But on the other hand, weren't it situation like this to show he cares for her? Carefully he touched her shoulder. "They will pass by. We're all save in here..." Glenn didn't believed the words but really hoped Maggie would do. He knew what a herd as big as this could do. All they could hope for was to hide from them. Slowly he started to fondle her back to at least shake off her sorrows.

She could feel Glenn's eyes on her as she stood apart from the rest of the survivors. He was keeping his distance. Why was that? Just when she thought he wasn't going to come over, a hand touched her shoulder.
"They will pass by. We're all save in here..."
Maggie shook her head. "Glenn, we both know that we're not. I know you want to try to protect me, and I appreciate that, but if we're going to make it we need to be realistic." She offered him a weak smile and turned to face him, gently touching his injured face. "That's a pretty good shiner you've got there. Are you feeling okay?"

"We have to go help now. We all have things we need to do, right?", she heard her sister say and it was like she twice heard it her dad say.
So what was the thing Beth needed to do, while the others already had their function within the group? Caring for dad? Caring for herself to not let him and Maggie lost another part of their family? Was that everything she could do? Beth wanted to tell her sister... as she followed her look down the stairs. She turned around, relieved to see her dad unharmed. She barely noticed Maggie's lead, as she bumped into his arms herself.
"I'm okay, daddy.", Maggie was saying behind.
Beth turned around, but her sister already left to the other side of the floor. With a serious expression on her face Beth watched her father again, even holding her in his arms. "They will pass, won't they?", she asked like she would be sure his answer will count as an undeniable fact.

Hershel
"I'm okay, daddy," Maggie said and she left Beth with him as she went to join Glenn in the living room.
"They will pass, won't they?" Beth said with a serious expression on her face as she watched him, waiting for a response.
"They're after those men now, as long as we stay quiet they won't bother us." It was not lost on him that he was having a hard time getting through to his youngest daughter. Her expression did not change and it hurt him to see her like this. He would not give up or give in to despair though. He owed it to her to keep their spirits high, and he was starting to notice the group as a whole could use some help too. Hershel cupped his hand under her chin so she could really see into his eyes. He wanted her to see what words could not fully impart. Hope. "Don't be afraid. There is no reason for them to think anyone is still here. But I am, we are," he looked around at the whole group as he said that so she knew he meant they all had each other. "Nothing is going to hurt either of you." He held her close, resting her head against him.

Daryl
Daryl walked past Hershel and Beth into the now bare living room. Maggie had drawn the curtains closed and stood discreetly peering out with Glenn at the horde. He joined them by the window and pulled it very carefully aside so he could see what was transpiring. Daryl saw them sweeping past the cars and the lead walkers were now disappearing out of sight behind the tree's to the right of the property they now reluctantly called home. They just kept coming though. Not many seemed to take an interest in exploring. About a dozen or two ambled up the front lawn. They where all spaced out away from each other and did not seem heading anywhere in particular. "Suppose these guys followed us this whole way?" Daryl thought out loud as he watched their faces. He wanted to know the second one of them dead bastards got it in their rotting head to come check the house. They tended to get that... determination, sometimes...
"Looks like whatever drives em is still working," was this how they moved now? A new tactic maybe? That worried him as he imagined trying to navigate out on the move. "When we hit the roads again we're gonna have to be careful not to get caught with our pants down against something like this," Daryl dropped his volume even lower. He didn't want to temp fate.

Agonizingly slow every moment passed by while the walker were moving along the road, follwing an inexplicable command. A horrified expression was on his face when he watched all that monster passing by. It was only the second time they met such a huge group of them and for some strange reason he was wondering if they just started to change their hunting tactics.
"When we hit the roads again we're gonna have to be careful not to get caught with our pants down against something like this"
Even thinking about crossing the path of some horde like that made him cringe. "What has led them to change their tactics... well, if we can talk about tactics in their case." he asked with a whispering voice. He couldn't believe that some of those rotten corpses still could think strategically. But was it that odd? Well, even if all the other walker they have met so far seemed to be nothing more than fangs and claws they still knew ways to less about them to preclude that for sure. He turned to Daryl. "Where should we go after they have passed? We can't follow them and..." a suppressed scream let him stop. It came from above where Carl and Carol should stay...

Maggie had stayed quiet, thinking about what it meant for them if Daryl and Glenn were right. Their biggest asset over the walkers had always been their ability to think logically. If they were working in strategy, did that mean that the survivors were about to lose that?
"Where should we go after they have passed? We can't follow them and..."
The stifled cry from somewhere in the house made Maggie jump. Her head swung around to see the others on the first floor behind them and looking as baffled as she felt- all except Carol, Carl and Lori. It was only seconds before she saw Rick bounding up the stairs, taking them practically two at a time with T-Dog hot on his heels. With a sinking feeling, she turned back to the window and barely pulled the curtains back far enough to peer outside.
The rotting face of a walker peered back in, it's sunken eyes not catching a glimpse of Maggie before she ducked back behind the curtain. It didn't matter though. The scream, even muffled as it had been, had been enough to draw the attention of the lawn walkers. Already the moans were coming closer, the sounds of dead flesh pounding and pushing against the house began to fill the room.

"They're after those men now, as long as we stay quiet they won't bother us.", she heard her dad saying.
With a serious expression Beth thought about his words. Could it really be a comfort to look at it that way? Sure those men seemed to fight the group, but did they not only want to survive too? Beth remembered the ease Daryl used his gun to shoot their heads. Of course it was a necessity, but wouldn't they use it the same ease on alive people? Weren't they all willing to execute that boy from another group at the farm? Suddenly her dad break in her thoughts, as his hand cupped under her chin.
"Don't be afraid. There is no reason for them to think anyone is still here. But I am, we are. Nothing is going to hurt either of you."
Before she could have had react in any way, her father held her close, resting her head against him. Beth knew the meaning of his words. And he was right. There is a darn hell all around, but still they are here. They are alive. Beth already had understand that, back in the days when she almost slashed her wrists. She decided for life. "Thank y.." Suddenly a suppressed scream from above interrupted her. No! Please No!, was the first thing came into her mind, as she stayed in her dad's arms like frozen. unable to breathe. Like far in the background she heard someone's steps bounding up the stairs. The groaning sound from outside was getting louder. Please No!...

Daryl
Everything exploded into motion at the sound of the scream. Daryl turned away from the windows to see Rick and T-Dog running up the stairs. He cast a quick glance at Maggie and Glenn before he too ran up to the second floor. As he reached the top he saw the two just ahead of him pull a walker from the bedroom door and throw it to the ground. They proceeded to stomp on its skull crushing the bone and spilling its contents all over the landing. Daryl pushed past them and knelt down. There was no sign of a gunshot or anything he could see but the head had been destroyed now. Someone must have missed this one but it was anyone's guess. Daryl just shook his head.
Carol, Lori, and Carl came out from the room it had been trying to get into and Rick tended his family. Daryl didn't waist time getting to Carol's side. "You okay?" he asked her. Carol's eyes where wide but she set her jaw and nodded. He checked her over and then looked at Rick. Everyone was okay. "Here, you take this," Daryl reached into his boot and drew a long black knife and passed it to her handle first. This wasn't the first time she had been helpless against an assailant... She had to have something to defend herself now. They all did. Daryl headed downstairs to see what damage the noise had done. "It's fine," he said as he made eye contact with Hershel. He kept his expression cool but he froze as he heard the scraping against the other side of the front door. It was moving despite what hey had piled up against it. Their time was up.

Hershel
He heard it loud and clear. They all did. Hershel felt Beth tense as she leaned against him. It felt like an eternity of silence then before there came a scuffle and he turned his head to face up the stairs. Daryl was coming back down then and he passed the two of them heading for the front bay window.
"It's fine," Daryl mumbled as he kept moving.
Somehow Hershel doubted that. Whatever had transpired above they all had bigger things still pressing in on them as the sounds outside started getting louder. More of them were joining the others against the door. He closed his eyes and tightened his embrace on Beth. Hershel started to say a silent prayer.

"Damn it!" Maggie cursed quietly under her breath as the front door barricade began to fail. They needed to move and fast. Spying Daryl across the room, she made a quick beeline for him. He and Rick were the only ones who had gotten a good look at the downstairs. One thing was clear- if they stayed in the house, they were screwed.
"Daryl, was there any other way out of here?"

"Daryl, was there any other way out of here?"
Maggie's question gave Daryl focus. "Down the hall, kitchen's got a back door." He was moving before he finished that statement. He started herding the others in that direction, away from the barricade. "Rick!" He called upstairs as loud as he dared and gestured urgently. Within moments most of the group was assembled by the alternate exit. Daryl cracked the door open and peered out. His crossbow was up and ready. He raised his trigger finger up to halt them while he took just a moment to see if the coast was clear. Daryl slipped out the back door quickly and quietly.

"Down the hall, kitchen's got a back door."
He felt the adrenaline pushing through his veins when he followed the others to the back door. The cabinet, one part of their front door barricade, was already threatening the sway when he finally left the hallway and entered the kitchen. "Wait... we... we can't just ran out. It's like they are everywhere." For a second he thought about their situation. If they really wanted to have a chance to escape, they needed to entice them away from the cars. "But if we could reach the cars..." he began but a sudden noise let him turn around. Finally, the cabinet has fallen down. From now on it wouldn't take that much for them to tear down the remaining barricade. "Someone needs to lure them away from the cars so the others will have a chance." But with all that walker around that would be equivalent to a suicide commando. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"If someone is capable of doing, then it would be you." It was T-Dog, who tried to encourage him to do so. Still he was tentative and with a doubtful expression in his face he looked to the others. Glenn saw Rick nodding and Lori and Carl looking back to the entrance when another crashing noise occures. "Ok, I'll do." They where running out of time and without any decision, he feared, all of them would be eaten. "Where do we meet again? I think I saw some sign saying a gas station should be near." He tried to avoid looking back to Maggie while he left through the back door...

Daryl
Outside the door there were no walker's nearby. The herd did not have the house surrounded just yet. There was two he could see along the edge of the woods about 30 yards away from the back porch. Probably been there the whole time, the former owners of the place maybe... Daryl moved to the edge of the house and took a quick look around the side towards the road. They were thinning out both from breaking up towards the house and as the rest continued to follow the masses down out of sight. There was still a formidable amount between them and the cars, probably 50 or more walkers. And they were likely to pile up which would be impossible to get through soon, especially with more coming up the lawn by the second. Time was short.
They had two options, stay close and make a break for the cars or run for the woods. A movement from behind caught Daryl's attention but it turned out to be Glenn who came to stop beside him, surveying the situation ahead of them. He braced the crossbow with his left hand and reached out and grabbed Glenn's shirt to hold him in place. "Where do you think you're going?" Daryl asked since Glenn had that look in his eye. A man on a mission.

"Someone needs to lure them away from the cars so the others will have a chance." "If someone is capable of doing, then it would be you."
If looks could kill...the saying floated through Maggie's mind as she glared at T-Dog. "So, what? Using Glenn as bait again? Look, we're not completely surrounded yet-" But her disapproval fell on deaf ears as everyone began whispering fervently.
"Ok, I'll do."
Glenn's voice rang in her ears louder than the increasing moans outside. But before she could do or say anything to stop him, he was out the door. And before any amount of rational thought could stop herself, she was running out the door after him.

Hershel
Once again everything started moving almost too fast to keep up. Glenn disappeared out the back door and Maggie went after him. Her father tried to grab her by the arm but she was out of his reach. "Maggie wait!" He urgently whispered after her but she was gone. His jaw clenched and he hesistated. No one knew what to do either from the expressions he saw on the faces of the others. Time returned to normal by the sound of part of the barricade crashing to the floor. He cast a quick glance to the front door and made up his mind. "Everyone come with me. Bethy," Hershel reached out and took Beth's hand and lead them out the back door to join the others.

Daryl
Daryl held Glenn fast, he was losing his patience with each passing second. He opened his mouth to get him to spill the beans when Maggie burst through the door he had come from. She was looking rather exasperated herself. They both cocked their heads towards her as she approached. Daryl released Glenn then but his jaw dropped as the rest of the group came out of the house lead by Hershel. He cast a quick glance back around towards the front before rounding angrily on the party gathered behind him.
"Keep it the hell down!" Daryl hissed as he raised the crossbow and fired. The arrow sailed right past them and into the head of the closer walker he had seen before. It had seen them, but now it wouldn't be bothering anyone again as the body crumpled into the dirt. With all eyes on him his expression calmed. He didn't like being the center of attention but he had to keep them from alerting the herd. "Rick," he called as he jerked his head for the boss to join him. He pointed to the crowd that stood in their way. "We can make it if we move fast." Daryl waited for the go ahead but his nerves were starting to fray.

Adrenaline was pumping through his veins when leaving out of the kitchen and entering the cold night. The air was filled with the steady moaning of all the walker around slowly approaching them to tighten the loop. It took Glenn only a few seconds to search for any of them in the near edge of the forest but these where a second to slow. Suddenly he noticed something grabbing his shirt dragging him towards a dark corner of the shabby old house. His hands felt sweaty when he tried to reach his Glock, ready to shoot any walker who wanted to have asian for lunch.
"Where do you think you're going?" It was Daryl who hid in the dark overviewing the situation. He never felt happier to hear his voice than in this moment. "Oh man, I almost..." he startet to talk but some noises at the door he just passed let him stop. Mag and the others were approaching and Glenn was not sure if he would be strong enought to have that kind of a dicision twice. With an urging view he looked to Daryl trying to persuade him to let him go. But either it was to dark or Daryl was not willing to do so and his grip still holds him tightly. Finally they regathered in front of the back door.
"We can make it if we move fast. He noticed that Daryl was pretty annoyed of their delay and still Glenn wasn't convinced by that plan.
"Do you really believe that's the best for Lori and Carl?" he lowered his voice when realizing the approaching scuffing of the walker. "Maybe we have to run for an hour or two, or even more and would be far away from the cars. But..." He took some deep breath and for a second he chew his bottom lip. "...if someone or maybe two could lure them the others could reach the cars. We could rejoin a mile away and drive to some safe place." Only now he raised his view looking directly to Maggie. For any reason he wished she could realize that he would be doing it for her...

"That would be suicide." Glenn's eyes met hers for a split second before she looked away towards the other members of their group. In a hushed whisper, she continued, "There are way too many out there for anyone to outrun on foot. Most of them are already down the road and the cars weren't surrounded. If we can make it to the cars, we can drive back the way we came."
A crashing noise from inside the house served to remind them that time was short. They would have to make a decision.

Daryl
That crash from inside was the bell tolling for thee. Daryl made eye contact with Rick then he started to move. He understood the importance of having a leader and he wasn't going to divide them like Shane had done in the past. Though they could have used his muscle right about know. Readying his crossbow once more he gave Glenn and Maggie each a little push on his way by so they would keep his flanks safe. The rest fell in behind. Daryl loosed an arrow into the face of the nearest walker as they left the cover of the house. He followed it up with the butt of the weapon to the skull of the next before reloading on the go. Firing a look behind him he saw a problem. "Tighter!" he cried as they were spreading out. "Close it up!" They had reached the lawn and the porch walkers had seen them now. It was the moment of truth.

There are way too many out there for anyone to outrun on foot... Glenn knew that she was totally right and if there was any other option to let all of them escape this walker horde safely, if there was any straw to catch at, he would do so. But in his opinion it wasn't. Why didn't they see it in that clear way he did? But with every passing second their chances would be a bit worse. A noise from inside the house revealed them to be much closer than he thought before. This was the moment Glenn realized his fault. There wouldn't be enough time to follow his plan. This time they have to act as a group. For half a second he felt disappointed but in a world like this there would be lot more possibilities to proof Mag's dad that he could protect his little girl. Daryl's push dragged his thoughts back to their present situation. As silent as possible he followed him to the lawn and down to the driveway. Indeed there were not that many walker as expected but still a lot of them. Would it be possible to eliminate all of them silently? Glenn dropped his cap and ran his fingers through his hair. This would be a tough fight. He looked back to the others just to ensure everyone was fine so far when he saw them. A cold feeling ran down his back and choked him. A small group of walker, maybe four or five, had approached through the near wood and now was directly beside them. He wanted to scream but all he could do was gasp out...

Maggie was painfully aware of all the ways that this could go wrong but there were no safer options and they had to move now. But with way too little ammo and the walker attracting noise, gun fire was not the way to go in this fight. Rick nodded to her, having already pulled his knife and knowing what she was looking for, and he fell into step beside Daryl. Quickly she scanned the area immediately around her for something she could use as a melee weapon. She couldn't help but feel that someone was looking out for her when her eyes landed on a crowbar, covered in the overgrowth next to the house. It only took a few steps to reach it and with a good shake it came free from the vines. Maggie tested the weight in her hand as she came up behind Beth.
"Take this." she handed the younger girl the gun that hung at her hip. "Only use it if you really have to. We don't want to draw more with a lot of gun fire. Just stay right in front of me." She used her free hand to give the girl's shoulder a squeeze before they began moving with the group.
"Just stay close to me, Bethy." Maggie said quietly to her sister as they began to make their way around the house.
"Tighter!" "Close it up!"
She swung and took out a walker that had gotten too close for her liking. Two others filled its place and Maggie used the crowbar to push the closer one backwards to the ground before swinging it up to smash in the other's head. She had just dispatched the walker one the ground when bony, decomposing fingers grabbed onto her arm from the right. She hadn't seen the walker coming from the direction of the woods. She tried to pull away but it clung on, it's mouth chomping wildly at the air. She pulled the crowbar up but was only able to succeed in using it as a barrier to stop the inevitable from happening.

Beth still was like frozen, when the walker marched through their barricade. They seemed to come from nearly everywhere.
"Everyone come with me. Bethy.", he heard her father's voice next to her, as he took her hand to lead her out the back door, where her sister and the others has been disappeared through. Beth uttered a short screech, as one of the walker outside came very close. She heard the sound of Daryl's crossbow and one moment later it's arrow landed right into the walker's head.
"Rick,""We can make it if we move fast."
Beth wordless listened to Glenn's followed suggest, playing the decoy. She really didn't like the idea about letting someone behind to give them a head start. No, that would be the wrong way. Luckily Maggie spoke out what she has been thinking. Nervously she turned around, as a crashing noise from inside the house reminded them that time was short. And then everything happened very fast. Leading by Rick and Daryl, Beth and the others cut their way through the herd. While she was running, still holded on her father's hand, she turned her head around to look after her sister. Where was she? Just as Beth wanted to shout for her, she appeared on her side.
"Take this.", Maggie said, while handing her out a gun. "Only use it if you really have to. We don't want to draw more with a lot of gun fire. Just stay right in front of me."
Beth watched her astonished, but gave her a little nod. She was thankful to going to be useful, if it was needed. And above all she was relieved to see her sister safe.
"Just stay close to me, Bethy.", she heard Maggie saying quietly, before they continued making their way around the house.
"Tighter!" "Close it up!"
Beth had released her father's hand, when they went further, fighting their way through the closer coming horde. But she knew him right beside. Suddenly a walker came from the side out of a bush. Beth surprisely winced, as a gun shot sounded from behind and hit the walker's head. Beth turned around. With a short squeeze on her shoulder Rick indicated her to close up again. "Maggie?", Beth turned around another time, calling out for her sister. Suddenly she just had a bad feeling. And indeed... her feeling hadn't deceived her. "No! Maggie!", she shouted again, as she watched her pulling up a crowbar against a walker, which had captured her. Without think about her action twice, Beth raised up the gun in her shivered hands and pulled the trigger.
