I really like that idea. It's an intriguing idea for a villain, and I think it would be fun to play around with.

I could always change my villainous character if you'd like. Just at the moment he is a slytherian graduate pureblood who completely hates blood impurity.

hmm... what if we have two bad guys? Would that be too much? We could have the villain who hates blood impurity, and then it would be easier for the one who likes muggles to stay in the shadows. He could even be seen as something of a hero for fighting against the evil, while he's plotting to take over the world in the background. Just an idea; if it's too complicated that's okay.

That is a wicked awesome idea, Kevin and Amelia! I actually started having a little plot bunny form for a character of my own but then realized it wouldn't work if it's 20 years later. I'd have to figure out how much time it would have to be to make sense or if it'd have even worked at all. I guess I could always make her a teacher. Gotta think on it more. Zizhun, did you get to talk to Kevin (username Malcolm) about your twin idea? Just curious. Did they say at the end of the movie or books who the Headmaster is? Would McGonagall have taken over/been next in line? If not, maybe the villain is. Lol, or go with the whole inside joke and make him the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Wherever he fits best with his plotting! Either way, it's probably important we decide who the Headmaster is, even if I've decide to make him/her an original character. We don't necessarily need to post as the headmaster character but it's good to decide in case it's someone canon so if someone picks them up, they'll need to know it's part of the role.

Yeah, I talked to Kevin about it, but I messaged him since I didn't want to take up room here when it was just us talking back and forth.

I got the impression that McGonagall was going to take over as Headmistress, but she could have easily retired by now, if we wanted her to.

Okay so I was remembering correctly then. If Lee-o decides to play her, I guess we can let her decide?

Yeah, we should let Lee-o decide. Did anyone see my idea to have two bad guys? I want to know what you guys think about it. Just curious.

I love the idea of McGonagall or the villian mwuhaha. either way sounds good to me. Just throwing it out there, it would make sense that he would be the headmaster since he would be going to speak with muggle family's directly like dumbledore did for tom riddle way back. But if he isn't it works too because he could just volunteer himself for that job if the headmaster/mistress would allow it. And yeah he would totally be playing the role of hero if someone else was causing trouble so I love the idea of two villians! you wouldn't need to change a thing Jester! I don't think two makes things more complicated. or rather just the right amount of complicated lol

Two villains is a great idea! They'd be distracted by one of them and never seeing the other one coming.

Checked the HP Wiki and Professor McGonagall became headmistress after the battle at Hogwarts. Her term is listed from 1998 to sometime between 2011 and 2017. I think it became canon through the Pottermore website. It doesn't name the successor other than to say there was one.

Quick question for everyone. When is this starting, as in which part of the year? We could start it with a bang, like at the sorting ceremony? Coming back from winter break? Just thought it would be fun to have a big kickoff.

I agree, a big start would be fun. I like the idea of starting at the beginning of the year. What does everyone else think?

Everyone weight in but Amelia just pointed it out, I feel silly i didn't think of it lol The Hogwarts Express! great place for us to all mingle before the ceremony and for you and me Ziz, keeping Jake out of sight haha

Yeah, the Hogwarts express would be perfect. Having Jake trying to avoid people on the train would be hilarious, but should he get to Hogwarts another way? It might make more sense for him to fly to Hogsmead on a broom, and then sneak in through the secret tunnel under the shrieking shack. Of course, just because it makes more sense/is safer doesn't mean Jake would go with that option.

hmmm i was thinking like a first year. yeah I guess he could use a broom if he wanted. I will leave that one up to you though, Oliver would be willing to make it work on the train somehow. they don't take a headcount until they get to school so as long as no one remembered seeing them both at the same time they shouldn't catch on

I think I like the idea of him on the train. It would also be easier for him to get all of his stuff to Hogwarts while on the train instead of flying. It would probably be too much for him to carry on the broom.

Just making a side note. Thought it might be a good idea if people make a tag in their posts in the great hall to let other people know at a glance what table you are seated at. That way we can keep conversations organized.

Hey ya'll! Looking for a sibling for my Muggle-born student. The general idea is that they are both Muggle-born but both ended up with powers. Was thinking a brother but I'm open to a sister too. She's going to be a sixth year. Can be older or younger. If anyone is interested, we can hash out the details .

Did anyone want to create the/a headmaster? I wanted to make sure no one had first dibs. I was thinking of making my baddie the headmaster. just thinking for now haven't completely committed to that but its a moot point if one of you all had a better idea. my only thought was the headmaster is usually the one meeting with muggle parents if im not mistaken. I kinda need this guy to be able to do that at least, headmaster or not.

I think someone was thinking of having McGonagall as the headmistress, but Storyteller said that according to J. K. Rowling, McGonagall would have retired before our story began. So, I don't know if that's still a possibility, but someone was thinking about being her.

Post by Medieval Kevin on Feb 19, 2015 13:33:24 GMT -8
Yeah I don't want to stop someone from taking it, but according to canon, she retired a year ago our game time... *shrug* i can just make him a professor.

I'm gonna play the mod card and say McGonagall is retired as Headmistress and if Lee-o wants to play her, she can have stepped back down to a teacher. It just works way better for your baddie to not have anyone looking over his shoulder and Miss Lee-o's schedule doesn't allow her to be on very often anyway.

Was anyone else going to create a character that's a student at Hogwarts? Because if not, we can start with everyone on the train headed to Hogwarts.

I'd jump right in :-) quick question for you ziz. I know Jacob wasn't going back and forth from the "boarding school" he was supposed to be in but do you think he'd sneak aboard the express from hogsmead to kings cross? to meet up with oliver? or would he be waiting at the castle?
