4 out of 5 from me!
I have to admit, I was surprised to learn that Sun had cheated on Jin. I didn't think she would be the type to. It was also surprising to see her lie about that glass ballerina, even sticking to it when her father said that he would have to fire the maid. She was just a little girl though and her dad is an imposing man. I'm not sure if she was afraid of him or just didn't want to take the blame.
Sun and Jin's marriage got to be so heartbreaking and all because of Sun's father. They were so happy when they were secretly together before they were married. Mr. Paik is a horrible, horrible man.
I'm really glad that Jin didn't kill Jae. Sadly, Jae ended up committing suicide. Apparently he loved Sun more than we realized because he was unwilling to leave the country and never come back to save his life. He'd rather take his own life than live without Sun and he did so with the pearls he got for her in his hands. It's really tragic. Still though, if Sun had taken Jae up on his offer to run away, I don't think they would have gotten away with it. Mr. Paik is too powerful and has too many connections. Look at Sun and Jin, who had planned to stay and disappear in America when Jin was being sent there to deliver those watches. One of Mr. Paik's goons had showed up at the airport and threatened Jin, saying that they knew he was planning on running away. So sad. Mr. Paik is the one that needs to taken down.
So back to Othersville. What are they building that they need Kate and Sawyer to break up and lug away rocks along with a ton of other Others all working on that area? Speaking of, next time I think I'm having a bad day at work, I'll just think of that scene where they get yelled at and threatened just for talking a little. Geez! Pickett is an asshole. I'm glad that Sawyer decked him.
It was hilarious though when Kate asked if she had to work in the dress and Pickett told her she could take it off. Sawyer gave this leering look, saw Kate's expression, then turns to Pickett and says "How dare you." Lmao! Kate and Sawyer got to have another couple of sweet moments. My Jater heart was a little bummed by that kiss but then later, when he explained it as a tactic to see what they were up against with the Others, I felt a little more at ease. Of course, I know there's an attraction there but it was partially a diversion.
Poor Kate looked so warn out at that point and I can't blame Sawyer for thinking she looked adorable. She was like this tired kid that you just want to take care of.
Colleen told Sun that the Others weren't enemies but that if she shot her, that's what they would become. Well, Sun shot her. I wonder how true Colleen's words were? The Others are already bad enough toward the survivors. Colleen saying that they aren't enemies doesn't ring that true. Maybe in the Others' eyes, they think that controlling the survivors is not being an enemy but to the people being controlled, that would seem pretty much like an enemy. Nobody wants to be controlled, no matter if the controller thinks it's for their own good.
What do you think about the end where Ben talks to Jack? He finally introduces himself as Benjamin Linus and says he's lived on the island his whole life. Well, if we can believe what he's saying. He's not exactly been honest in the past.
I didn't really think Jack was right when he said that he thought the Others were stuck there too without outside communication. They've got to at least have outside communications. Otherwise, where are all their supplies coming from (there has to be more than a food drop like at the hatch) and how did they get their hands on all that information about each of the survivors? Jack should have figured as much because of the previous episode when Juliet was sitting there with a fat file on his life. Then again, Jack hasn't been eating and drinking and is really out of it.
What was amazing about that whole Red Sox winning the series was that in season 1, when Jack's dad and later Jack said "That's why the Sox will never win the series," the Sox hadn't won. Amazingly, the Red Sox finally won the series (I think shortly before season 3 started) so it worked out amazingly for the writers. They got to have Ben show Jack the video of the Sox winning and you see the philosophy that Jack believed in via his dad unravel. Through his father, he believed that fate ruled over free will; that no matter what you tried, sometimes you were just meant to fail and they used the Sox as the focus point for that belief. It was used as a sort of crutch sometimes. A way to blame fate for your shortcomings and to brush things off without practicing your free will by using more effort or examining more closely what had led to a bad thing happening.
The Sox winning the World Series debunked their theory and suddenly, Jack finds that you can't blame things on fate. As interesting as it would be if the Sox had lost yet again and to see how they would have continued on with the "That's why the Sox will never win the series" frame of mind, I think this was far more interesting and a brilliant twist of fate that the Sox finally won.
Holy crap, and how about that room Ben was in with all the monitors? He can hear and see everything happening! It was hard to get a good look but there were a ton of monitors. Where else is he able to spy?
Favorite moments/quotes
Kate: You expect me to work in this dress? Pickett: Well, it's up to you? You can take it off if you want. [Sawyer looks at Kate with a leering grin, Kate gives him a dirty look.] Sawyer: [to Pickett] How dare you?
Kate: What the hell were you thinking? Sawyer: I couldn't help myself -- you just looked so damn cute swinging that pickaxe. Chain gang looks good on you, Freckles.
Sawyer: I noticed something else, too. You taste like strawberries. Kate: You taste like fish biscuits.

5 out of 5 from me. As a Skater I HAVE to give 5 stars here! xD I felt very sad and surprised too learning Sun had cheated on Jin. Actually it makes me even look a little different on her, as I'm a person who so much loathes when people do that... I still like her though, but well, maybe she's in my eyes not that pure person anymore she was. I just hope Jin can live with it. I couldn't. Oh I so agree with you as for Mr. Paik! I so so so hate him! X__X Hm, somehow I didn't believe that Jae did suicide. But then, it happened all so quickly, no one could have helped to make that happen that fast. Even though, I got the feeling Mr. Paik was behind that. Like sent someone to fulfill the order, if Jin would fail... I just wondered of Jin somehow knew about Sun and Jae back in that time? He seemed to be so angry and broken, while talking to Jae. OMG! OMG!! Sawyer kissed Kate!!! He did it even, like it was worth every pain the Others would cause to him for that later. And Kate kissed him BACK! Yes, she DID! Haha, actually first I thought Sawyer would do her work and not would kiss her, lol! But well, wouldn't have been Sawyer maybe. xD But seriously, my face went like this: ---> --> ^_^ --> *__* And Heidi, come to the Skate side! Yah yah, he maybe explained his reasons for the kiss to her, but deep inside there was also desire. :-) Oh man, I imagine our RPG situation, when there will be a Jack player eventually. xD Me, a Skater, playing Sawyer, doing everything to turn it that direction and you and the future Jack player trying to take the other path! That'll be so drama and tragic! And also funny for sure! Hm, I could imagine Ben living on the island his whole life. But then, like you mentioned, he is one of the best liars at all! Everything he says can be true 50% and wrong 50%. It's a neat fact as for the Red Sox I think. :-) Yah, Ben has his eyes everywhere. I'm so excited for the next episodes and to learn more about him! ---------------------------------------------------- Favourite quotes:exactly the same as in Heidi's list, lol.

Even though, I got the feeling Mr. Paik was behind that. Like sent someone to fulfill the order, if Jin would fail... I just wondered of Jin somehow knew about Sun and Jae back in that time? He seemed to be so angry and broken, while talking to Jae. I know we had some wild theories about Jae and whether it was suicide or not! Some people were even saying they thought it was Sun who went in and did the deed to save her husband from having to do it and/or from her father's wrath. We were all going to crazy with it that the writers set us straight and said it was suicide because they didn't plan on elaborating any further with Jae, lol. I don't think Jin knew. I think he'd be much, much more pissed off. I think he looked more frustrated and mad at the fact that he was sent to take a life, both at the fact that he didn't have it in him and the fact that this is what his life had become. OMG! OMG!! Sawyer kissed Kate!!! He did it even, like it was worth every pain the Others would cause to him for that later. And Kate kissed him BACK! Yes, she DID! I do agree that there are feelings there, despite the fact he explained it as a tactical move to see what they were up against with the enemy. Yes, it'll definitely be interesting in the RPG and even though I'm a Jater for life, I won't let that effect how I play Kate. She really did have feelings for both of them!
