***Welcome to the official `Once Upon A Time` discussion thread! WARNING: SPOLERS MAY BE AHEAD***
A young woman with a troubled past is drawn to a small town in Maine where fairy tales are to be believed. -IMDB
Creators: Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis
Stars: Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Jared Gilmore (info provided by Ariel)
How did everyone like season 1? I loved it! So great to see a show based on fairy tales that not only is great but also is being watched. I was afraid that they may not have very many viewers simply because it was about fairy tales.
Anywho, about the ending, they were still in Storybrooke and seemed to wonder why the curse wasn't completely broken. I wondered if maybe that purple cloud was taking them back to Fairy Tale Land (FTL) but then, reading comments by other people, I'm thinking not because of one important observation; the purple cloud was created by Rumpelstiltskin and his main goal is to find his son. Going back to FTL would defeat the purpose. I'm thinking that the cloud definitely brings back magic (hence the Evil Queen's grin at the end) but will it also allow them to travel outside of Storybrooke?
What do you think?

That is what i was wondering too, how is the next season going to start? Are they going to be taken back to Fairy tale land or maybe just bring the magic back to them in storybrooke? but either way me and my friends are excited to see it! I mean when Charming and Snow remembered I was like "YES!" Now they're going to be hunting for Regina the whole season two is my guess. Also, does anyone else think that the red queen is her mother? XD

It did look like the Queen was getting ready to run but then when she saw the magic returning, she had this evil grin on her face. How do you fight her when she has her powers back? I don't think they'll end up back in FTL because I think Rumple's main goal is to find his son.

I hear ya! The fall season feels like it's forever away!
That grin of hers made me feel like it's the rest of them that should be running and hiding. After three decades of barely any magic which is the only way she truly knows how to fight back, I think she's got a lot of pent up pissed off energy she can't wait to unload. She feels like she's losing Henry to Snow and Charming's daughter on top of seeing that Snow and Charming still manage to find a way to be together. I think she's pissed.

Of course she is pissed, everything is falling down around her and then Henry and Emma and just everything around her. Bring on the pain!

Hangover 2 and Sucker Punch actress Jamie Chung has been cast as the Chinese fighter Mulan in the show. The character is expected to have a recurring role in the ABC hit’s eagerly awaited second season. The character originates from an ancient Chinese poem about Hua Mulan, a young woman who takes her elderly father’s place in the army. ABC’s parent company Disney adapted the story for a well-received 1998 animated musical film starring Ming-Na and Eddie Murphy. UPDATE: Some more details about Mulan’s character. She’s described as having been trained in weaponry, tracking and riding, but “has a spirituality that enhances her tactical and strategic abilities. She has suffered past betrayals, so her trust is hard-won, but once she gives her oath of friendship her loyalty knows no boundaries.” Also, “when she falls in love, she falls hard.” This is from EW.com insidetv.ew.com/2012/07/05/once-upon-a-time-sleeping-beauty/'Once Upon a Time' casts Sleeping Beauty by James Hibberd More Once Upon scoopage. Now Once Upon a Time has added The Tudors actress Sarah Bolger as Sleeping Beauty / Princess Aurora. Like Mulan, the new role is a recurring character in season two. In the original fairy tale, Princess Aurora fell a deep sleep after pricking her finger on Maleficent’s spinning wheel. Later, she was revived by the kiss of a handsome prince. Maleficent was introduced in the first season of the ABC drama, played by Kristin Bauer van Straten.

I love how they combined the FTL touches with the Storybrooke touches (and how Emma is totally wearing her mother's "badass Snow" shirt in the group shot).

Can I just mention that I HATE King George?! I think Abigail summed it up perfectly in 'Whatever Happened to Fredrick'- "Some people will stop at nothing to destroy the happiness of others."
I am so incredibly happy with this season of OUAT. All three episodes so far have exceeded my expectations. And is it just me or have they infused the season with a lot more humor? Anyway, awesome stand outs of this episode for me-
1) Emma in The Enchanted Forest amuses me to no end. From her "Turducken" comment through trying to kill an ogre with a pistol to her strong facial reaction to 'Mary Margaret' being badass and taking down the ogre- I love it.
2) The entire scene in Emma's nursery. Ginny Goodwin and Jen Morrison knocked it out of the park.
3) LANCELOT! I am so in love with Lancelot and I hope Cora didn't really kill him.
4) MUST. PUNCH. CORA.
5) The opening former Enchanted Forest scene was brilliant and I definitely laughed loudly at the, "Uh huh. That's a stupid idea." look that Red gave Charming when he said to stand their ground. I am really loving the mutual respect/friendship that is being built there this season. But speaking of that opening scene- Charming, Snow- REALLY?! Your camp is being attacked and you decide to have the, "I want you to meet my mother" talk?
6) Charming's Mother was the death that I accidentally spoiled for myself over the summer when I saw backstage pictures of the actress with blood on her clothes. But while it wasn't a surprise, it still tugged at my heartstrings and I am very sad to see her go.
7) I hate Regina but even I felt awful for her when Henry pulled his ruse.
8) Halfway through the episode, we were hoping Aurora would get eaten by the ogres. By the end, well, she still isn't Rose but she is more tolerable.
9) I hope Mulan gets more to do. I am intrigued by her character.
10) I don't like the looks King George was giving Charming and Henry when they were being adorable and sword fighting.
11) MUST. PUNCH. KING. GEORGE.
12) Jefferson's and Grace's reunion was adorable.
13) Cora- once again up to no good.
14) Just how many hearts does Regina have in that vault? If she really wants redemption, perhaps she should give them back?

Oh my god this epsiode had so many feelings, i just don't know what to do with myself! I just.. So i will just reply to the lovely posts above! 1) Emma in The Enchanted Forest amuses me to no end. From her "Turducken" comment through trying to kill an ogre with a pistol to her strong facial reaction to 'Mary Margaret' being badass and taking down the ogre- I love it.I have to agree, the Turducken had me going. but when snow did that whole motherly thing after Emma confused Ogres and giants...omg i never laughed so hard. and Emma's face when Snow shot down the ogre and she was like 'Holy shit' 2) The entire scene in Emma's nursery. Ginny Goodwin and Jen Morrison knocked it out of the park.I almost cried, like i was getting all misty eyed and everything. Like seriously they did such an awesome job. Such a touching moment between mother and daughter, just bonding it was such a moment... 3) LANCELOT! I am so in love with Lancelot and I hope Cora didn't really kill him.
4) MUST. PUNCH. CORA.Yes MUST PUNCH CORA.... 6) Charming's Mother was the death that I accidentally spoiled for myself over the summer when I saw backstage pictures of the actress with blood on her clothes. But while it wasn't a surprise, it still tugged at my heartstrings and I am very sad to see her go.tho i didn't spoil myself, i knew it was going to happen. I was like, yeah she's going to die i just know it.... frikkin creators are giving me Joss Whedon feelings... damn them. 8) Halfway through the episode, we were hoping Aurora would get eaten by the ogres. By the end, well, she still isn't Rose but she is more tolerable.
9) I hope Mulan gets more to do. I am intrigued by her character.May i just say that i love Sleeping Warrior/Warrior Beauty. I just get this whole, D/s vibe from them. Of course i am a perv but still... Like that whole, "Do as i say" or "Don't talk to her like that" i just added in my head. 'she is my bitch, get off her. Like Glory from Buffy popped into my head "I don't like it when other people touch my things" XD lol 10) I don't like the looks King George was giving Charming and Henry when they were being adorable and sword fighting.
11) MUST. PUNCH. KING. GEORGE.Punching King George sounds like a capital idea.... lets get'em 12) Jefferson's and Grace's reunion was adorable. It made me all happy and i was going to cry... but i didn't... 14) Just how many hearts does Regina have in that vault? If she really wants redemption, perhaps she should give them back?

Gah, yes, both Cora and Regina need to be stopped, but I think Cora more so. Lancelot wasn't on screen that much so I can't really judge but I think he'll be an interesting addition. I don't think he's really dead. Or if he is, it's the curse kind that can be woken up from. Aurora needs to stop acting out without thinking and start using her words like a big girl! Overall, this season has been really wonderful so far and I can't wait for tomorrow's episode!

Continued from the CBox- My fiance and I also want to start a family one day and it didn't strike us as over the top at all. Snow and Charming want a family. From the sounds of it, Charming had wanted a family for a long time. All hope of that was taken from Snow. Not only did she have to deal with the fact that she would never get to be a mother but I'm sure there was also that, irrational in this case, fear that it would affect the way Charming felt about her. It didn't surprise me that Charming's mother gave up her life for it. She was giving up her life for her son's happiness and for the continuation of their family. Was it rational- probably not. But I could understand it. All the characters, with the exception of Lancelot, who treated it like gospel were all people to whom children meant the world. I guess they could have brought in a character to show the opposing view but I don't really see how it would have added to the story as I'm sure most people already know that not everyone wants children. Going to the Henry thing- he's ten years old. Rarely do children think about consequences or even other people's feelings right away. I'd imagine that Henry really didn't know how much he probably hurt Regina- his only thought was that he wanted to get Mary Margaret and Emma back and that was how he thought he could do it. Henry did call Regina 'mom' often last season. Because, Evil Queen or not, she was the one who gave him all the physical things a parent is supposed to- she fed him, clothed him, changed diapers. But from last season, other than that Regina was not a very good mother. She wasn't able to be there emotionally for her son. Keeping the curse was more important than his mental well-being. He was constantly used as a pawn against Emma. Most likely he has anger about that but that doesn't mean that he wants to see her die. Anyway, my two cents about those situations .

Holy crap, I had a new guess as to who Dr. Whale is and it's totally something I never would have thought of! Dr. Frankenstein! I'm basing my guess on the trailer at the end of "The Crocodile" for the next episode, "The Doctor". It's showing Regina talking about bringing back Daniel and then there's Dr. Whale and lots of scenes with lightening and Dr. Whale standing over a body and another scene that looks like a slab of body parts. Gonna see if I can find the trailer to post here.

Another clue after some interwebs searching! The writers love to use names that have a connection to the FTL character. The director of the 1931 "Frankenstein" movie is James Whale.

That is what I deduced a few weeks ago ;D . I saw screen caps of a season promo of a doctor in a tent with a lightening rod on top and lightening striking it and I started to suspect. The Untold Stories app in Facebook had some new clues about Whale including saying he had a "God complex". And in the dating video, Whale said that on his perfect date, they'd listen to the very best of Sting (who played Dr. Frankenstein in a remake of The Bride of Frankenstein) and that the "sparks would fly" as well as the note "Good at making friends". The icing on the cake was the James Whale connection. Still not sure how Dr. Whale's womanizing fits in, but hopefully they will tell us.

Damn, you really are doing your research on the show! I didn't know there was an app and the last time I saw that dating video was a little after Comic-Con! It was only this promo that gave me the guess... the use of lots of lightening and him standing next to that slab was just screaming Frankenstein! Dying for the next episode now. Dr. Whale seems very twisted in that promo and I never thought I'd see Regina looking that scared/disturbed. Did you by any chance read this weekend's Entertainment Weekly OUaT article? I loved the sidebar of potential characters joining the show. So exciting!

You need to check out the app! It's a bit buggy but fun and you get so many bits from backstories! My personal favorite, of course, being a letter Red wrote to Peter after she's killed him.
I am looking forward to seeing next week play out. I am surprised they gave us that much in the promo. I haven't gotten the EW issue yet but hopefully I can pick it up this week ;D . I heard they confirmed that Graham was originally supposed to be Sherlock Holmes!

Maybe I'm overanalyzing since I can't stop thinking of that promo but I'm starting to get the feeling that the writers wanted me to think I was clever & figured it out. I'm thinking there's going to be a twist to this Frankenstein thing.
Putting into consideration Dr. Whale's fixation on women, I'm thinking he didn't have much luck with the ladies in FTL which is making me wonder if he was not Dr. Frankenstein but Igor or Frankenstein's Monster.

I LOVED this episode! Finally warming up to Mulan and Aurora. Emma's backstory explained SO much! Emma is so going to kick August's butt. I want to know what's in the box. We've seen Neal for a total of maybe thirty five minutes and I'm already an uber shipper of Nemma (Emeal?). I hope he shows up in SB soon (and I want to see his reaction to Henry). Any guesses on if he is just a "normal guy" or if he is someone from FTL?
Loved Hurly the Giant (as Rose and I have dubbed him). I just cannot ship Emma and Hook though Rose squealed over them the entire episode. Mostly because there is no good ship name for them. Homma? Emook? Captain Swan? Okay okay okay- Pirate Swan is a pretty kick ass shipper name.
Anyway, it did not occur to me that Henry would also be having the nightmares associated with the sleeping curse and I am so excited to find out more about the shared dream he seemed to have with Aurora. Possible means of communication between Charming/Henry and Snow/Emma? Speaking of The Enchanted Forest, exactly how are they planning on getting that bottle of sparkly dirt away from Cora without Hook? I don't think she'll be keen on sharing. And note to self- do not get in the way of Mulan's sword. It packs a punch. AND JACK! Poor poor Jack, we hardly knew ye!!! When they revealed that, I am pretty sure that Rose thought I was nuts because I wailed, "JACK'S DEAD!" really loudly. She just didn't understand.
I think that's it. Except for the teaser for next week's seemingly Red-centric episode! SO EXCITED! But if King George shoots Ruby I am going to be one mighty angry panda. But here's to hoping we get to see more Granny crossbow action.

She was totally great! Dammit Hook, you suck for shooting Belle and possibly making her lose all memory of who she is when she fell past the line! GARRRR!
Any idea who the random person could be that entered Storybrooke and ran Hook's sexy ass over? I assumed it was Henry's dad but then the previews show some older guy I don't recall ever seeing before.
