I can't help it, my first thought after "Oh MY GOSH! HE SHOT BELLE!" was "NOOO!!! Now she won't remember that she and Ruby were totally becoming besties!!!!!!" I really hope they can restore her memories. Belle is my favorite princess and this episode really served her well into becoming much more than just Rumple's arm candy. I have no idea who is in the car! All I know is that it's Ethan Embry's character and he's from Pennsylvania (according to his car, anyway! I was super excited to see my home state's license plate). There is theory going around that he's Bae but that has happened to just about every new male character this season so I'm going to wait until we get a little more information about him.

I don't think it's Bae. He looks way too old to be Bae so I immediately cancelled that out. I did think it was weird that they really focused on the license plate. There has to be some clue there when they filled the screen with the license plate.

Holy shit, show, make Rumpelstiltskin a little more evil why don't you. Also, Milah is a ridiculously poorly written character. Her 180 is just...weird. Although I still don't think she deserved to have her heart ripped out.
I really hope Regina is just playing Cora: Cora deserves to be manipulated herself for once and I want to see Regina redeemed.
Still, a pretty good episode. We'd all figured out who Baelfire was, of course, but it was still cool and the convos between Bae and Rumpel, Emma and Henry all had the appropriate tone and weight. I hope they make him a regular.

I know, right?! I wish they had made Mihla's transition a bit smoother but I have some ideas on it. Like, Rumple's father was a coward and Mihla knew how that stigma hurt him so she was probably angry that he would do that to their son.
I really liked this episode (and huzzahed when Heidi and my prediction about Grampa Rumple came true, if only for poor Henry's now totally demented family tree). I would love to see Neal become a regular also, much more than I'd like to see more of Hook.
As for Regina- I'm kinda hoping she's not so easily manipulated by Cora but I don't hold out much hope for it. I think we will see at some point (possibly in the finale) that she'll have to choose between her mother and Henry.

Well, after a few weeks of great episodes, it makes sense that they'd have a bad one. But this was bad.
1. I really, really hate this show's take on good vs evil. Everything is black and white. Here you have an opportunity to deconstruct traditional fairy tales and they only do so half-heartedly; Jack the Giant Slayer was an evil bitch with no character, Snow White was an action girl etc. But there's no such thing as moral ambiguity. If you're evil, you apparantly shoot arrows in the forest to the strains of Bad Reputation in a hilarious fashion. Damnit, show, things aren't black and white.
2. Could they have chosen a bigger stereotype than the mysterious bearded Asian soothsayer who's also a dragon? Because that was some 60s-style weird cliches.
3. And I almost forgot: why are they making such a huge deal out of Snow killing Cora? I like that she can angst about it, but holy shit, they're acting as if she stepped on a baby's head while injecting acid into an orphanage's water supply. Jesus, Charming has killed people, Snow was going to let Regina get executed. Red's eaten people.
4. August is just not a compelling character. He's a manipulative wanker and we're meant to feel sorry for him?
5. Holy God, that CGI was bad, even for OuaT.
6. Some Most of the lines were utterly awful in every conceivable way.

Ugh- 100% agreement! I think that this was my least favorite episode out of both seasons. The Wooden August CGI was terrible (and I usually overlook the less than awesome CGI), 'Bad Reputation' felt out of place on a show that typically doesn't use popular music, I was bored by the backstory (I've never disliked August but I've never felt particularly inclined to like him either) and why, oh, WHY does Tamara have to be involved in both that story and with Owen? I hope that it'll feel better by the end of the season but right now it just seems so contrived and entirely too much at once. And turning August back into Pinnochio felt like a cop out.
Getting into Snow's downward spiral- I think the blackening of her heart has to do with the fact that she used dark magic to kill Cora but the slap and immediate apology to Marco was a bit much. I could have accepted the slap and maybe an apology a few scenes later but the way it happened, it truly felt like Snow was not in control of herself. If they play that card- and subsequently the 'Regina only did every horrible thing she ever did because of the corrupting power of dark magic' card- I'll be a little ticked.

Dear Once Upon A Time,
After this episode, I may be willing to forgive you for ignoring my gal Red enough last season that she needed to go do a new show. At least, for now. I loved the ensemble-feel of this episode. And Aurora's new look. But I still feel the need to beg you, please keep the percentage of Regina-centrics under a quarter of the season this year.
Love, Me

Ha, I noticed Aurora's new look! Her hair is really red now. Didn't know they had hair color in FTL... must not be easy to find in a cursed, desolate land... I also noticed a little glitch where the mermaid vanished when they did a shot from the high wave viewpoint. Oops! Other than that, I wonder what Peter Brattypants wants with Henry? Oh, and are you sure that Red went looking to do a new show because she didn't have many scenes or that she wasn't given many scenes because she informed them she was looking at other options? She did say at Comic-Con that Red's still at Storybrooke and that we haven't seen the last of her.

So I'm rewatching this one before watching tonight's new episode and was reminded of a question I had. One of the Lost Boys said to Rumpel that Peter Pan will be happy to see him again. I'm not sure if that means that Peter visited FTL and had a run-in or if Rumpel had been to Neverland. If he'd been to Neverland, then wouldn't he have found Bae since that's where Bae was?
Gah, guess we just have to wait and see the back story on Peter Pan and Rumpel.

I bet nobody else wants to discuss such an "old" episode (sadly it's not that old for me, since Germany is just two episodes behind of it *sobs*). Anyway I LOVED this one! It's really near to my very favourite episode.. I bet nobody will guess which one it could be, won't you? This is the first episode I watched in original language.. nah, I did watch just parts of it on YouTube though, but for this one I have to say the differences between the original and the german dubbed Version is extrem! I like the german voice for Rumpelstiltskin, but I really loved the original here. It made him a different character. In german Version he seems to be like a high-voiced strange goblin, but in the original he appeared much more dark and creepy I think! Although I like both.. Hey, what's your favourite scene in there (even if no one's there for a discussion about that old one? ^^')? I love the Scene, when Rumpel's dressed up like a bagger and take away his Hood, giggling around. I love that giggling of him! It always makes me smile, even if I do watch it on my own. I also like the Scene when Milah tells him, that she have never loved him... and then Rumpel takes off her heart.. I think it was the first time we saw that he really is a bad guy

I'd love to discuss any episode, new or old, but my memory of it might not be so great. I do really like how they blend together some fairytales. Rumpel probably is a combo of the most amount of characters. He's Tick-Tock (Crocodile from Peter Pan), took over the Blue Fairy's job (Cinderella) after disposing of her, Beast (Beauty & the Beast)... Not sure if I'm forgetting any. I also love that crazy, creepy giggle he does. It's not everyone that can pull off the kind of flair he pulls off without seeming totally cheesy. He totally owns it.

Yah, i like that too. Sometimes I'm not sure if they had planned some things right from the start of the Show.. for examble the fact that Rumpel is like the crocodile to Hook.. it fits so well with the clothes he's wearing There is just one Thing they didn't consider I think. It is that everyone knows his name is Rumpelstiltskin! So not like in the original fairytale of Rumpelstiltskin. Plus when everyone actually knows it, why the name on his dagger seems to be such a secret? Anyhow.. ^^

And his treasure.. how could she break the tea cup? But this episode brought me near to Frankenstein! He became one of my favs too! This is one of my favorites of season two because of the Storybrooke side of things! The whole beginning with the group in the hospital makes me crack up. And I love moment that Ruby and Whale have! But yes, poor Rumple . That was the moment that I truly started to dislike Hook. Up until then he just annoyed me. There's also a funny deleted scene on the DVD set for that episode in which Emma and Snow need to explain jello to Hook and Hook hits on Red. Edited because I found it on youtube!
