Okay, I waited way too long between watching and finally writing so this is gonna be short and sweet. All the movies are jumbled in my mind so I can't remember exactly which parts were from this one.
What did you think of the movie?Really liked it! The story is progressing full steam ahead!
What expectations or theories did you have that either ended up right or wrong? My expectations were met. I was expecting a great movie and I got a great movie.
I didn't have any theories at this point as I'd started listening to the audiobooks by Goblet so I knew basically what was going to happen.
Who was your favorite character and why? Least favorite?Gosh, this one is hard to remember because of how long it's been. Perhaps favorite was Dumbledore just for the scene when he stood up to Umbridge to take Trelawney back into the castle. Least favorite was Umbridge! Not in a bad way though. She was just plain evil. Freakin' pink sociopath! And that giggle. *shivers* She was oh so good at playing the scary kind of evil. Bellatrix was also a least favorite and not for bad reasons, though I'm left feeling unsatisfied because she got away with what she did and we don't get to see any comeuppance for it in this movie. Least favorite in a bad way? Cho. Always Cho. Go away, you whiny brat!
What scenes or situations did you like best? Least? Best, probably Dumbledore standing up to Umbridge and all the scenes where Dumbledore's Army are hidden away practicing defense while Filch tries to catch them. Snape and Harry squaring off each time they have a session was great to watch. Also, as hard as it was to see Harry's dad be a douche, I think that was really great. We got to see why Snape has such a grudge and also, Harry gets a dose of reality which is a good thing. Sometimes it's good to know that someone you've been idolizing wasn't a perfect person.
Least was probably stuff with Hagrid's half brother. I don't remember the book well enough but in the movie, he didn't seem to have much of a point except for at the end with Umbridge. Even that wasn't much of a purpose of him as the centaurs took care of things.
What were some of your favorite quotes?Harry: [to Voldemort] You're the weak one. And you'll never know love or friendship. And I feel sorry for you.
Ron: Hermione, you are honestly the most wonderful person I have ever met. If I'm ever rude to you...
Hermione: I'll know you've gone back to normal.
Umbridge: Something you'd like to say, dear?
McGonagall: Oh, there are several things I would like to say!
Sirius: The world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.
Dumbledore: [to Harry regarding Voldemort] It's not how you are alike. It's how you are not.
How do you rate this movie compared to the rest in the series? It's just gotten better and better with each movie. Love seeing the progression from something so sweet and innocent as finding out about the magic world and being taken away from horrible people to be brought in by nice, supportive ones and progressing to these scary, dark times.
If you've read the book, how do you rate this movie compared to the book? What did they leave out? What did they change?
It's been WAY too long since I listened to the audiobook so I couldn't say.
What do you think of the movie now that you've seen the whole series? Still love it! I think each have been important. There are none that felt like fillers.
Did you find anything new you didn't catch the previous time(s) watching?Seen it tons of times so nope, nothing new!
How did the movie stand the test of time?Really great! Can't believe it's almost 10 years old!
