***Rose, Hook, and his Crew enter from King George's Kingdom - The Laughing Dragon Tavern***
After being passed off a couple more times like a sack of potatoes, Rose's protests had finally gotten through to one of the pirates who put her down and let her hurry along beside them.
Thankfully, they'd gotten far enough ahead before the other patrons had realized that the bomb had been a dud. Either they hadn't caught up or hadn't decided to pursue. As they neared port, she could hear voices in the distance and realized it was the former. The reward money on her was just too good to pass up and chances were that either the one she'd knocked out had come to or more than just he had recognized her. Also, there was the fact that they might be less than thrilled with the way the crew had made their exit.
Rose followed the others onto the ship. Orders were being shouted and Rose was pushed side to side and back and forth as men rushed around. The terms being bandied about were foreign to her. That combined with the fact she didn't know the first thing about a ship made her feel utterly useless. She tried to stay out of the way but no matter where she stepped, she was in the way. A couple of times, she'd nearly lost her footing. There seemed to be miles of ropes everywhere. Luckily, she was righted both times as men passed.
The deck of a ship was chaotic.

As soon as their feet hit the deck of the ship the Captain started barking commands. It was kind of his thing, but in moments like this the men would have done their jobs anyway. They knew what to do. But they had not been expecting to be in such a rush today. Some of the crew where still slightly under the influence so those who had stayed on board found themselves doing more than one job.
Killian himself started releasing the lines on the stern near the wheel on the starboard side. He surveyed the situation and saw their pursuers running down the boards on the dock towards the Jolly Roger. "Stop them," they where shouting. Their party was growing with bystanders who worked the port as they relayed word of a hefty reward for Jones and his crews heads. He suspected he owed thanks to their new traveling companion. It was okay so long as they broke free of their moorings. "Oh Miss, care to take that blade and cut those bow lines? If you'd please." There was a broad bladed tool resting in the wood of the rail right next to her. Its weight would be more than sufficient to slice through the hemp tethering them to land.
The pirate himself proceeded to the swivel nearest to him and with a slowmatch in hand he raised his voice. "You kind folk didn't need to come all this way to see us off, but that says a lot about your caliber." He put extra emphasis on that last word as he aimed the large muzzleloader right at the lead members of the mob.

"Oh Miss, care to take that blade and cut those bow lines? If you'd please."
Happy to be useful, Rose gave a nod and fervently took to the task. The rope shifted as an angry mob member grabbed hold and started to climb. The man watched her with arrogant superiority as he climbed and Rose sawed away even faster. Luckily, his weight pulled the rope taut which made it easier to cut and much to his surprise and her gratification, the rope was cut free before he'd even made it half way. She cringed as he bounced between the hull of the boat and the pier before hitting the water. Rose paled at the thought of possibly having just killed someone. She leaned over the railing and watched, giving a sigh of relief when his head bobbed above water. "Sorry!" she called but only received obscenities in return.
Her quick work of the bow lines was thanks to spending so much time baking. All that kneading dough had put strength into her upper arms and though she was nowhere near as strong as the sailors who'd spent their lives heaving all these heavy ropes and sails, she was definitely not as frail as most ladies.
As the ship began to move away from port, she started to approach the captain for more orders, covering her ears and reflexively ducking as his firearm went off again.

"Excusez moi, mademoiselle!", suddenly a male voice with a funny false accent was sounding behind their guest, as the even more funny looking owner of it showed up next to the young woman.
It was no other than Genie, the blue crew member, having something like a special position. As he kept in with the Captain greatly, he recently was allowed to choose his job on board, which wasn't in everyone's interest though. This week he did choose to be Jolly Roger's head cook. And right now he was looking like one of a french starred restaurant.
"Mademoiselle?", Genie repeated a little disbelieving. "Oh hey!" Then his costume disappeared all of a sudden, making way for his usual looking as a Genie, still blue-coloured though. "Yo, why nobody told me we're havin' a lady aboard? I'll go change the menu!"

Rose was jostled once, twice by the men running around on deck as she gawked at the blue-skinned man who's clothes and look changed before her eyes. The third shove knocked her back to reality and she looked rather embarrassed at having been so rude. There was much she didn't know about the world outside her little cabin. Nobody else seemed to blink at the man so Rose was immediately at ease.
"Menu?" she repeated as his words finally caught up to her. "Oh, I can be useful in the kitchen. Or galley," she corrected, using the proper ship term. Another shot fired nearby had her ducking reflexively. She took a quick look back to see the Captain was busy so she made the decision of her next task on her own. "Lead the way, I'll give you a hand," she said, sounding rather happy at the thought of being out of the range of bullets and trampling.

Genie gave her a warm smile. As he still felt like no free man, even though his current master treated him like a friend, he was glad to make a new acquaintanceship, and that with one polite and lovely person as she seemed to be.
"And cooking she can too!", Genie quipped with a chuckle, still speaking of her in the third person, before he lastly fully turned his attention to her. "Okay okay, this way down, but don't await a starred restaurant, Miss... or Mrs.?" Suddenly Genie stopped his way down to the galley and turned around to the blonde woman once again. "I really hope ya got not forced to marry the captn, my dear. I mean, he's not the worst a mother can come up with, but the beard..."

"And cooking she can too!", "Okay okay, this way down, but don't await a starred restaurant, Miss... or Mrs.?"
Some of his speech seemed to match the otherworldly look of him. The few things she didn't understand were quickly brush away in the enthusiasm and speed with which he spoke. He suddenly turned to face her and continued before she had a chance to answer.
"I really hope ya got not forced to marry the captn, my dear. I mean, he's not the worst a mother can come up with, but the beard..."
His comments caught her off guard. The sound of her musical laughter was out of place amongst the chaos on deck. "Goodness no," she said. "I've only just met him." She looked thoughtful as she considered the idea for a moment before continuing. "There seems to be some kindness below the surface and he is pleasing to the eye, but I do not think we are intended for one another."
Rose spoke openly and honestly as she was used to, unaware that out in the world, such statements were bold, particularly coming from a lady. It was also apparent that she was a romantic, believing that there was someone out there meant for each person and that it'd be easy to know after a simple consideration if you'd found that person.
"I am a 'Miss' but there is no need for such formalities. Simply Rose will do," she said, smiling at the blue man. No, not exactly a man. Familiar though from something she'd read once. "Are you a jinn?" she asked with curiously fascination.

Genie's mouth raised to a happy wide smile, when he heard her laugh. Oh what a lovely and above all sincere laugh. He hadn't heard such in a long while. And somehow he felt glad that he was the one who has caused it.
"Goodness no,""I've only just met him." Then there was a short pause, in which she actually looked like she would consider it. Oh no, this young lady certainly wasn't meant for a pirate. A radiative prince riding on a white horse, that would be more like it. "There seems to be some kindness below the surface and he is pleasing to the eye, but I do not think we are intended for one another."
Did she just say pleasing to the eye?! Genie's jaw suddenly dropped, and that was literally. Women's taste seemed to have had changed a lot during the last centuries. When the young lady continued their conversation, he casually used one finger to put his jaw back in the right position.
"I am a 'Miss' but there is no need for such formalities. Simply Rose will do,""Are you a jinn?"
Beautiful, cooking and smart! Men's taste in women must have had changed as well, if this Rose really was a Miss...
"I am, my dear! Genie it is. ", he replied with a two-edged smile. "Unfortunately not available though. Taken by Mr.-Pleasing-to-the-eye, y'know.", he added the last comment on the quiet, as if the captain would stand right behind them.

In the stories she'd read, Jinns were often times treated as objects to be used to obtain power and wealth. The Captain, however, seemed to have made Genie into one of his crew. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the Captain but Rose saw the fact that Genie seemed happy as a sign that there was goodness within the Captain. It gave her confidence in her decision to have asked him for safe passage.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Genie," Rose said with a warm smile and graceful curtsy.
Her aunts had taken special care to raise her as a well bred lady. That included proper social etiquette, though she suddenly found herself wondering in the back of her mind why she'd been taught such formalities of greeting when she'd never been allowed to actually meet people. These were things she hadn't given a second thought until finding that poster.
Wanting to maintain her current good mood, she did not dwell on the thought. Her eyes looked up toward the deck above, noticing the sound of bullets were no longer mingling with what she assumed was normal sounds of activity aboard a ship. "It seems we are in the clear now." And with the threat out of the way and evening fast approaching, the crew's thoughts would soon turn to supper. Rose began looking around the small galley. "What have we to work with?"

The captain trusted she would stay safe and accomplish the task given to her. The ship struggled against the lines as she wanted to break free. Spinning the swivel mounted cannon on their foes though, he did notice the feel of the wind in his hair as he loaded the gun for a second shot. "We accepted your hospitality and give back willingly, a little show of our appreciation of your small town. The first shot had gone over their heads, to slow them down. This one tore into the wood planking in front of them and the lead men stopped, staring into the gap. The men behind didn't. One by one the mob plummeted into the harbor. The Jolly Roger was making good headway now, no way they could get on-board. "Bath might do you lot some good," Killian muttered to himself as he let go of his grasp on the smoking gun.
A quick sweep of his gaze showed him the Genie must have taken their guest below, he had heard his voice. Might do her some good to put her at ease. Among his many duties on the ship, Genie was their... what was the word... Good public relations man? When they needed that sort of tact. "Unfortunately not available though. Taken by Mr.-Pleasing-to-the-eye, y'know." Hook scrunched his face up as he heard the words echoing up from below. Taking the ladder down two rungs at a time he stopped just in time as the pair he sought were right aft of the galley. Still in conversation. "It seems we are in the clear now... What have we to work with?" The captain jumped right in, "An unhappy Genie? What to do... and here I thought we were having a good time?" He finished with a smirk as he absentmindedly fingered a small arms whole in the plank next to his head. "Wood must be getting a bit brittle."

"Oh no, quite the opposite," Rose began, jumping to Genie's defense. "In fact, he seems very happy." Recalling his jovial antics had Rose smiling. "He was only attempting to break it to me gently that he would not be able to grant my wishes, though I wouldn't even know where to begin with such power at my disposal."
Realizing she was rambling, she cleared her throat and got back on topic. "I was hoping to repay you by preparing meals for you and your crew as a start. If there are any other ways I can offer my services, please do let me know. I may be unexperienced but I'm willing to learn."
Rose spoke with an innocent earnestness, wanting to do her fair share to earn her passage.

Killian flinched as one of his men walked past. "First bit of advice, be careful what you say. Offering your services might get you more attention than you were bargaining for. Most of these men have been sailing with me since my b.... since I became captain of this ship. But some have trickled on board to fill gaps over the years and I'd be a fool if I said I trusted all of them." He watched the pirate proceed down to the hold and caught a good look at his face on his way down.
The captain let his shoulders sag. He turned his face to genie and he threw his good arm over his large blue shoulder. "But stick with this fellow and you won't have much to worry about, he carries almost as much weight on the Jolly Roger as me."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Genie,", Rose said with a warm smile and graceful curtsy. Oh, this young lady really was the topping on one delicious cake - most certainly the nicest human he has ever met.
"The pleasure is all mine.", he answered with a smile in return.
"It seems we are in the clear now.""What have we to work with?"
Just as Genie was about to raise a word again, the master suddenly jumped right in.
"An unhappy Genie? What to do... and here I thought we were having a good time?"
Unhappy? Genie never thought about something like being unhappy - or being happy conversely. Happy... Well, he was making his jokes and was smiling a lot at times. But did that make him happy? Before Genie could have sunken into these thoughts, his new female friend answered for him instead.
"Oh no, quite the opposite,""In fact, he seems very happy."
Oh, he does? Well, then maybe he was. Genie smiled, as if he was asked to.
"He was only attempting to break it to me gently that he would not be able to grant my wishes, though I wouldn't even know where to begin with such power at my disposal." An unusual human being. Positive meant of course. "I was hoping to repay you by preparing meals for you and your crew as a start. If there are any other ways I can offer my services, please do let me know. I may be unexperienced but I'm willing to learn."
"First bit of advice, be careful what you say. Offering your services might get you more attention than you were bargaining for. Most of these men have been sailing with me since my b.... since I became captain of this ship. But some have trickled on board to fill gaps over the years and I'd be a fool if I said I trusted all of them." Genie screwed up his blue face at that statement, as suddenly the master's arm was laid over his shoulder. "But stick with this fellow and you won't have much to worry about, he carries almost as much weight on the Jolly Roger as me."
"Speakin' of carrying weight", he suddenly said, placing one hand at Rose's shoulder. "We've got a meal to prepare." Genie gave her a quick wink, before he virtually pushed her through the galley's door. He somehow felt the need to hear her story one-to-one. There was no way a lovely Lady like her was a pirate, but it also didn't seem Killian would have kidnapped her. So what about a little chitchat while peeling potatoes?

"First bit of advice, be careful what you say. Offering your services might get you more attention than you were bargaining for. Most of these men have been sailing with me since my b.... since I became captain of this ship. But some have trickled on board to fill gaps over the years and I'd be a fool if I said I trusted all of them."
It took until the end of his speech for the full meaning to sink through. The realization of how her innocent words could be misconstrued had a blush heating up her cheeks. Oh goodness. She would never have meant what he said others might think she had implied. She couldn't even draw out the implication in thought. It was so far out of reach of the cabin that had been her innocent little world and she'd never had to measure her words for the possibility of ulterior meaning. Still too mortified to speak, she simply nodded.
"But stick with this fellow and you won't have much to worry about, he carries almost as much weight on the Jolly Roger as me."
Looking at Genie's friendly face, she was able to push passed her embarrassment enough to manage a small smile and was relieved to feel the warmth of the blush start to leave her cheeks.
"Speakin' of carrying weight", "We've got a meal to prepare."
Genie steered her away toward the galley and Rose regained enough from her embarrassment to call out a "Thank you, Captain" over her shoulder before the galley door shut behind her.
"Oh goodness," she said, pressing her hands to her cheeks and willing away the remaining blush of embarrassment. "I never meant... I only meant... I just wanted to..." 'Oh hang it all. He knows what you're trying to say,' Rose thought as she glanced at the big, friendly blue man.
Having to think over her words for the possibility of inappropriate hidden suggestion would be a feat but an important one, seeing as she was the only female aboard a ship of men. Pirates, no less. They were always portrayed as disreputable in her books, particularly where women were concerned. Rose had loved escaping into her books. It was the only way she ever got out of the cabin, so to speak.
Wait, what was she doing? "Right, supper," she said distractedly as she set down her satchel and started wandering the little space to take stock, opening cupboards and looking over barrels and sacks but absorbing nothing as her mind remained on the previous topic of thought.
Perhaps that was the key to handling this issue along with all the other new experiences that would come her way. She'd always become absorbed in her books, living through the characters. She may not have experienced very many things firsthand but she had literarily and vicariously through fictional characters. If she pretended she was a character in a story, perhaps it would be easier. Most likely far less scary as well to pretend she was reading about a fictional character who'd just found out her simple life was not as such.
After her stuttering, Rose had gotten quietly lost in those thoughts and caught up in the reason she'd found herself aboard a pirate ship in the first place. She was on her second round of opening the cupboards when she'd come to her resolution and came back to reality. Rose blinked, taking a moment to absorb what she was looking at as she didn't even remember having opened the cabinet.

Genie watched the young lady opening cupboards for a while. Closing them, opening them again. Before she could have started another round though, he raised a word to get her attention.
"Dear, unless you're not gonna learn the cupboard's interior by heart, and believe me, you don't wanna open the one to your right once again", Genie wrapped the fact he had seen something that had looked like a rat's tail last time she had opened it into a quick clause. "I suggest you just take a seat for now and relax." His blue hand was pointing at the wooden chair opposite him. Genie gave her a warm smile, while a third hand of him suddenly grew long to open the correct cupboard with the potatoes in it as if it was the most normal thing. "Hope you don't mind the question, but how comes a lovely girl like you landing on a ship like this?" He would have lied, if he had said he wasn't curious.

"Dear, unless you're not gonna learn the cupboard's interior by heart, and believe me, you don't wanna open the one to your right once again", "I suggest you just take a seat for now and relax."
Rose merely nodded distractedly and headed for the seat. A third arm suddenly materializing from Genie to open a cupboard across the room had her pause and gape for a moment before dropping into the seat.
"Hope you don't mind the question, but how comes a lovely girl like you landing on a ship like this?"
Potatoes and cooking utensils started to pile up on the counter as Genie removed them from various storage spaces. She'd managed to sit for nearly a full minute before she was on her feet again, switching right into cooking gear. She gave Genie a smile that said she didn't mind his question at all before thinking of exactly how to answer that.
"I've lived my entire life in a remote cabin, never wandering farther than a stone's throw from it," she began as she filled a bucket with clean water and used a clean rough cloth to scrub the dirt from the potatoes. "I wanted a bit of an adventure." Dunking the cloth once again into the slowly dirtying water, she continued on, the clean potatoes piling up in a basin, ready for peeling. "And from that bit of adventure, I found a need to discover who I really am." She paused to smile at him before switching over to peeling. There'd been the slightest hint of sadness hidden in her features.
Discovering who you were was a common metaphor but rarely did it ever mean literally. Rose had spoken it lightly, conversationally, as if simply using the common metaphor. There was nothing to suggest she'd meant it in any other way and she wasn't one to share the burden of the turmoil of her thoughts and feelings to anyone except Red. Most especially not with someone she'd just met, despite how warm and friendly and easy to talk to he appeared to be.
"And you?" she said, turning the conversation away from her not because she was avoiding talking about herself but because she was immensely curious about a magical being she had thought was fictional before today. "How did you come to be here?" She motioned at the ship with the peeling knife before continuing to quickly and efficiently remove the skin from a potato.

"I've lived my entire life in a remote cabin, never wandering farther than a stone's throw from it,"
"Oh, tell me about it!", he quickly threw in, but probably not loud enough to really get her attention with that. It anyway had been rather an intuitive reaction. Well, he was a Genie. He should be used to it to have not more than an itty-bitty living space, right? But he wasn't. He most probably never will. But then, find yourself a master selfless enough to waste one wish to set the Genie free... exceptionally unlikely.
"I wanted a bit of an adventure.""And from that bit of adventure, I found a need to discover who I really am."
Genie noticed the sadness in her smile and he somehow felt bad for not being able to cheer it up. For a moment he paused the whittling too, replying it at least with a sympathetic one from himself. Just as he was thinking about kind words, the girl spoke up again.
"And you?""How did you come to be here?"
"Me?", Genie asked, obviously truly surprised that someone asked him a question like that. Now it was his turn to be on pause for a moment, holding a half-peeled onion in his hand. "Well, I am where my master is. Seems I'm gettin' around a lot.", he shrugged with a smile, the sadness within not perfectly hidden. Getting around while actually getting nowhere in fact. Sure, Killian didn't send him into the lamp very often, but at the end of their involuntary agreement, it will be that damn old oil lamp again to call home.
"But back to you, I hope that this bit of adventure, you were talkin' about, won't let ya end up on a pirate ship. This isn't the right place for ya, believe me.", Genie gave her a good advise while continuing peeling the onion and at the same time putting out carrots from one of the cupboards with two of his other arms. He liked the captain and his crew, he really did, but they were no good company for a lovely young woman like her. This time it had been him turning around the conversation once again. He just felt it somehow wasn't alright to talk about himself, while she maybe was in the middle of a real disaster.

"Me?",
Rose chuckled. "Yes, you."
"Well, I am where my master is. Seems I'm gettin' around a lot.",
Rose smiled, happy on his behalf. Though he was a prisoner to his current master and his lamp, he'd still been able to see some of the world.
"But back to you, I hope that this bit of adventure, you were talkin' about, won't let ya end up on a pirate ship. This isn't the right place for ya, believe me."
The peeler stilled in her hands as she looked at Genie in momentary surprise before her laughter filled the room. "Goodness. Me, a pirate?" She used the back of her hand to wipe a tear from the corner of her eye then continued peeling. "No," she began, a quick look at her surroundings before looking back at what she was doing. "This is my first time on a ship and I can already feel that I'm not meant for a life at sea. This is merely transportation to seek out who I am and what I'm meant for."
Rose began cutting the potatoes into squares, adding them to the meat boiling in a pot over a fire along with carrots, onions, and other veggies at their disposal that would make for a delicious stew.
"Now where did I put my satchel." She looked around spotting it. "Ah, there it is." She wiped her hands on a towel before digging through to find her spices. A few she'd brought with her from home and some of the newer ones had been given to her when she'd been cooking at Robin's camp. Finding the right ones, she smiled at Genie and returned to the pot, adding a dash of this and that, avoiding the addition of much salt as the meat was cured with it. She took a deep breath, giving a satisfactory sigh at the aroma.

The Captain had been leaning towards the door listening to everything that was transpiring inside. It never hurt to pick up any new tidbits especially about their new passenger. Genie seemed to really set her at easy and he had been hoping to compound that by warning her about the rest of the crew. They wouldn't lay a hand on her, those who had not sailed with him from the beginning knew better than to cross him. But maybe she would then have a stronger focus for her trust.
Killian was really hoping there would be some clue as to why she wanted to go to the Forbidden Fortress so badly. But the subject didn't seem to be in danger of coming up any time soon. Much to his dismay. The ship suddenly lurched to port and he lost his balance, something that did not happen often. He was not paying attention to the subtle motions of the ship was the problem and it sent him into the door with a thud. Thankfully it didn't budge but he cussed under his breath and took a few quick and quiet steps away from the galley and then bounded up the stairs and on deck to find out what was the matter.

"Goodness. Me, a pirate?", the young woman suddenly laughed, which put Genie on ease a little. He joined her sudden laughter with a friendly chuckle. "No,""This is my first time on a ship and I can already feel that I'm not meant for a life at sea. This is merely transportation to seek out who I am and what I'm meant for."
Genie watched her for a moment continuing the cooking. Despite his relief she wasn't going to become a pirate, there was another worry remaining in his mind. What was her price to pay to get this kind of transportation service? He knew Killian was no bad guy deep inside, but he also knew nothing was for free. Especially not with thieves. Just as Genie was about to address Rose once more, she spoke up again first, though actually more to herself.
"Now where did I put my satchel." Genie swallowed his question. There might be enough time to continue their conversation at anytime later. "Ah, there it is." Another chuckle left his lips instead, as he watched her upgrading the meal with spices. "If this will taste even half as good as it smells, we're gonna have a five-star menu today. You seem to..."
Suddenly a thud from behind the door was cutting his words. Genie turned his head in surprise. "Hmm", he mumbled, while he tried to make use of his fabulous hearing. The noise of removing steps came to his ear. Could it be their conversation hadn't been as private as he thought?
"Oh, someone really has to bind those barrels.", he quickly said, not wanting Rose to get worried. She should feel safe for the time of her presence onboard this ship, as save as one can feel onboard a pirate ship though.

"If this will taste even half as good as it smells, we're gonna have a five-star menu today. You seem to..."
Rose was beaming at his compliment. She took pride in her cooking, especially in this situation where she didn't have much to offer in the way of help on a ship.
A slight lurch startled Rose but she managed to reach out and keep things steady. Luckily, things on a ship were built to accompany such rough patches with bars of sorts holding items in their place and ledges at the end of counters and tables to stop things from rolling off. Cooking items attended to, Rose's attention joined Genie's already drawn to a thud that had happened on the other side of the door.
"Hmm", "Oh, someone really has to bind those barrels."
Rose perked up at the notion of something else she'd be able to do. "I can do that after dinner," she said with a confident nod. "I'll tie up whatever is bumping around out there and see what else could use some stabilizing."

"I can do that after dinner,""I'll tie up whatever is bumping around out there and see what else could use some stabilizing."
Now, that hadn't been exactly his intention. He even wasn't sure there were barrels to bind at all. And so Genie put her proposal off with a shake of his blue head. "Nah nah, I assume those are the rum supplies. They won't survive the dinner anyway." He let out an almost too exuberant laughter before he added: "Let's get this done, before the crew's gonna starve."
And with that Genie attended back to cooking, more assisting the pro though.

They were a full day into travel, around halfway to their destination. The crew had gotten used to her presence, though she sometimes heard one of the older men still stubbornly grumbling something about bad luck under his breath. Rose caught him smiling at her once before he'd realized it and she secretly smiled over it.
She had a sweet and innocent nature to her that seemed to invoke a protectiveness in others. The people of Robin's camp had treated her as such almost immediately but the pirates took a little longer to get there. Most of them, that was. There were a couple too far gone and devoid of conscience or care of anyone other than themselves and their own wants and needs but for the most part, the crew seemed to have a respect for their captain and his rules.
Rose was also never left unattended. Genie had been by her side nearly every second since she'd stepped on board and sometimes the captain. She'd also spent a lot of time below preparing each meal or attending to small jobs she was capable of doing onboard, including laundering and mending of clothing and some of the simpler ship tasks. She'd certainly pulled her own weight since stepping onboard yesterday.
If her sweet demeanor didn't win them over, her cooking certainly did. Still feeling as if she wasn't doing enough, she'd decided to provide some entertainment to shake up the monotony of ship life for the men by sharing her gift of song after supper. She'd never had anyone other than her aunts and her only friend to share it with before and had found great joy in seeing how her gift lifted spirits and brought smiles. In return, they'd taught her a few sea shanties, one of which would have made her aunts apoplectic. They were all very catchy and she'd soon joined in, even the bawdy one after she'd gotten over her wide-eyed giggling and blushing over some of the parts she'd understood.
Rose had only had a handful of songs she'd heard and learned in her life. She felt the joy of having learned new ones all the way to her bones and in her heart, hoping to learn as many more as she could whilst she was onboard. She'd had found herself humming the new songs during the day and did so now as she carefully walked up the stairs to the deck with a tray full of food for the lunch hour.

The captain saw Rose emerging from the hatch balancing a tray with expert skill. He left the wheel to his lieutenant and made his way over to her. "You really are getting the hang of things around here, and in just a day or so", he helped her with her burden as he walked with her over to some secure barrels that would make for a decent table, "Imagine what you could do after a few months at sea." He chuckled slightly at the thought but he was serious.
"Are you sure you want to go through with your plan? There are plenty on board who have really taken to you." Killian smiled down at her with a sincere smile. He said nothing more but she certainly reminded him of someone right now... Mila had that same innocent wonder at first. In the end... he shook the thought out of his head as he wanted his mirth to remain right were it was on his face.

"You really are getting the hang of things around here, and in just a day or so",
Rose smiled, taking pride in the compliment though a dash of shyness sent a slight blush to her cheeks. "I love learning new things." She gratefully allowed him to ease a bit of her burden and followed the captain to the barrels and set down the tray.
Even ship chores were exciting to her because it was different from the same few things that had been available for her to do, day in and day out. Because of the monotony of the past couple decades, her brain was like a sponge, absorbing everything new, though sometimes her naiveite of the world and lack of social interactions got in the way of grasping the full meaning of things.
"Imagine what you could do after a few months at sea." "Are you sure you want to go through with your plan? There are plenty on board who have really taken to you."
Rose actually took a moment to consider the thought, looking around the ship and its people, then to the sea. She basked in the fresh breeze of the sea air as it played with the strands of hair that had escaped from her braid. Rose had taken to several on board as well in just a day and also to what felt like an exciting life at sea. But not knowing the truth behind that wanted poster meant not knowing the truth of herself. It would continue to eat at her as it did now.
Rose finally looked back to Killian, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear as she nodded. "I need to," she said seriously, then smiled and lightened the mood. "Should I ever decide this is the life for me, I'd be honored to join your crew. I'd go down in history as the least fearsome pirate that ever sailed the seas," she finished with humorous enthusiasm.

"I love learning new things." Rose took to this life well, as well as one can in a day. He sensed that she was taking everything in stride and truth be told, the men would miss her when she was gone. Easy on the eyes, sweet, and a voice like a siren. He expressed how much the men would miss her, asking her if she was sure she wished to continue on. "I need to, Should I ever decide this is the life for me, I'd be honored to join your crew. I'd go down in history as the least fearsome pirate that ever sailed the seas," Killian found himself chuckling slightly at the thought of her being a pirate.
"The men just might mutiny but I will not keep you here. I will deliver you as promised, on my word." He nodded.

Rose smiled with a look on her face that said she wholeheartedly trusted he'd do as promised.
"I have more trays to bring up so I shall leave you to your meal before it grows cold." She placed a hand on his arm in friendly affection as she walked passed him and headed for below deck.
Rose would most certainly not be in any position to make demands once she'd been delivered to whomever it was that had placed such a hefty price on her but she would do what she could to assure that Killian and his men received the reward. She'd be happy to know that the reward had gone to someone who'd helped her get there on her terms rather than by one of those men at the tavern who'd have most likely mishandled her and tossed her into their ship's brig.

"I have more trays to bring up so I shall leave you to your meal before it grows cold." Killian nodded his head and watched her go, he was grateful for the meal.
After several days at sea, the Jolly Roger had finally reached King Stefan's kingdom. As they sailed towards the port, Killian was second-guessing himself by the time they docked. He didn't feel right about this but the money was too good to pass up and the girl wanted to go.
"Here we are, King Stefan's kingdom." Killian smiled, "You sure you want to do this, love? I very much doubt whoever this is will want to keep you in the best accommodations?"

Genie's eyes grew, LITERALLY, with every further moment their farewell was coming closer. He had embosomed innocent lovely Rose in no time, actually from the very start. How couldn't someone anyway, especially when traveling with a bunch of bristly pirates for already over a century?!
Despite his exuberant attitude this time Genie tried to restrain himself until the captain would have finished saying his farewell. But then, actually RIGHT AFTER the captain had finished saying his farewell, Genie suddenly rushed over at them to give his newest friend a big bear hug. "You'll be missed, little Rose."
