The peculiar looking classroom was almost empty of it's students now that class was over and the first day was done. Picking up their books and class materials, girls and boys lined up to exit the class one by one to make the most of what was left of the day. All except for one student who still sat in the front of the class. Morgana Parkinson's preference in a setting full of rowdy students would be tucked in the back where no one would hopefully notice her existence. However, the divine art of seeking knowledge of what life and the future holds was a born gift Morgana had always possessed. It is unknown where she inherited such a talent, as she certainly believed that it couldn't have possibly been from her mother. But in these teachings and practice, Morgana felt her true calling had arisen and she felt it grow stronger with every year.

Looking down at the classroom table draped in velvet, Morgana drew one tarot card after another and carefully placed them down accordingly. Cartomancy had always been a fascinating wonder to her, and was thrilled that their professor had introduced it as the first module in their curriculum. Morgana had heard the other students scoff at the teachings throughout the first day, complaining how irrelevant and useless this elective as a whole was and how they had no choice but to sign up. Morgana pitied their ignorant and limited mindsets, as they would never grow to appreciate the messages and signs that would unfold from their work. For now, Morgana didn't have to worry about close minded individuals clouding her space as the class was now silent without anyone in sight. Closing her eyes for a brief moment, Morgana exhaled contemptly as she basked in her element before returning her gaze to the tops of the cards. Aligned perfectly, ready to be played.

***Ellie enters from elsewhere***


After she had rummaged through each of her pockets and had combed already some of the other classrooms, she had been sitting in earlier, Ellie had high hopes she'll have more luck in the Divination classroom. This was actually not even one of the classes she had signed up for, but after Archimedes' today's little excursion on his own, which brought her yet another upcoming hour in detention (actually starting in a bit and for getting late there Ellie was sure the professor would make two of it), this was the last possible place she could think of to find it. Something essential to survive each of her detention attendances. Her Walkman.

"Okay, listen, you got me into this, so now you gotta help me not gettin' even deeper into jam.", she instructed the owl on her shoulder. "And don't gimme that bugged look." Ellie shook her head, as she had to come up with a grin. She couldn't really be mad at Archimedes. Sure, thanks to him she'll have to spend her time after classes different than planned, but it, admittedly, had been quite some fun to watch the professors in the hallway trying to catch the old little owl running out of control.

Ellie opened the classroom door, hoping that she'd be alone until she had to learn better at the same moment she entered. "Oh! Ehm... sorry, didn't know someone was here.", she said with an unsure look in the other student's direction, sitting all alone in one of the chairs and playing cards... apparently.

Despite the upcoming feeling the girl wanted to be on her own, Ellie made no move to leave, instead even came a little closer, unobtrusively throwing one look over at the cards, while she searched the room for her lost item. There also was again a strange, almost outlandish, feeling coming over her, she tried to ignore this time though.

Carefully placing the rest of the deck to the side of the round table, Morgana was about ready to flip over the first card and reveal the message that it beheld. However, something was stopping her from doing so as a strange sensation of warmth washed over her. Similar to the one that she began to feel earlier that day in the Great Hall.

"Oh! Ehm... sorry, didn't know someone was here."

The sudden words spoken by the newcomer in the classroom gave Morgana quite the startle as the voice seemed to echo through her skull, as if someone had taken a megaphone and shoved it right in her ear. An uncontrollable jolt shot through Morgana's body, causing her to knock the neatly tidied deck to the ground, sending the cards all over the floor.

"Bloody hell..." Morgana whispered to herself in frustration at what she had just done. At that, she climbed down on her knees to being to pick up the mess, ignoring the stranger in the room who seemed to be the current root of her problem.

Almost simultaneously with Ellie's rising interest in the girl's card game, causing her to pause her task of finding her walkman for a little while, the deck of cards suddenly got sent all over the floor.

"Bloody hell..."

"Oops, I'm sorry.", it escaped Ellie almost automatically when the other student was kneeling down to pick the mess up, even though Ellie knew it couldn't have been her fault. Well, how could she know anyway it actually was?

As she felt her curiosity over the girl's shoulder could have made the other nervous or something, Ellie felt the need to help. And so she kneeled next to her to help to pick up the cards. But as the girl with the long brown hair had collected already most of them again, there was only one remaining card Ellie could pick up from the floor. On her way to hand it over, she paused at the picture on its other side for one moment. "Now, this is an unexpected revelation.", she chuckled, ironically meant, at what a short grunt accidentally was escaping her.

Ellie absolutely wasn't in the know of tarot or any other practice in connection with divination, but to pick up a card saying The Fool seemed like so much more than just a funny coincidence. She definitely was someone getting into any kind of trouble day in, day out.

Morgana had hastily picked up the majority of her deck as the student knelt beside her to give her a hand. She remained rather silent in her invaded bubble,as she was particularly known for her clumsiness and partially blamed the senseless spill on herself. Morgana wondered why on earth this student was being so nice to her, but didn't question her motives any further as she inspected the deck in her hand. She seemed to have most of her cards, unharmed and back in the care of her palms. All except for one.

 "Now, this is an unexpected revelation."

Morgana finally turned in the student's direction as the girl let out a snorty chuckle at the card she held in her hands. The Fool could be perceived in multiple ways by those who aren't familiar with the cards in tarot, however Morgana was well practiced in the art and thought this instance was rather curious. 

"It represents new beginnings. I mean, in case you wanted to know," Morgana said with assertion, followed by regret. This girl probably didn't care about the message or the meaning, but that it's just a silly card. Though the fact that this single card seemed to call to this girl all on it's own was strange enough. What was this girl in for....

Tearing her gaze from the card, Morgana peered up at the girl. And by what, or whom she saw, she was never so shaken in her whole life.

"It represents new beginnings. I mean, in case you wanted to know,"

Something in the girl's voice made Ellie actually shiver at once. It was not the voice in general, not even the words, but something like an infrasonic tone within. Oh well, the very thought of this was sounding rather stupid, wasn't it? And so Ellie dissipated it only a second later.

She peered down at the card, still remaining in her hand on the way to hand it over, while the other student seemed to get a first real look at the doppelganger's face.

"Well, then it's probably nonsense after all.", Ellie chuckled with a shrug of her shoulders before she felt like she had to add a less judging comment to make the other not feel offended in any way. "Or simply just not workin' on me." She also let her words accompany by another delightful chuckle. A new beginning was not quite what she saw happening all too soon. After all, her first day of the new school year had started pretty usual - with trouble and detention. 

And then Ellie was about to face the other girl as well...

The girl before Morgana rambled on, however her words were nothing more than white noise as Morgan's widened eyes expressed a state of shock. Slightly frozen, Morgana stared in disbelief at the face of this student, a face that was almost identical to her own in many ways. Jaw slightly unhinged at the sight, Morgana blinked rapidly as she thought she was clearly seeing things. However, those familiar eyes staring back at her made her realize that this delusion was a possible reality. Suddenly, her whole body began to shake at this frightening unknown as she backed away slowly, gripping her school supplies tight. Whatever this was, she was scared and wasn't ready to know about it yet. It wasn't long after that Morgana had turned her back on the girl and darted out of the classroom as quickly as she could, her head trying to make sense of it all.

***Morgana exits Divination Class***

Ellie actually hadn't been able to catch more than a short glimpse at the other girl's face, but one that had been enough to make her shiver one more time; and even one that caused her to shut her mouth for once.

Ellie still stood like frozen when the other student, obviously and absolutely unbelievably being something like the spitting image of herself - and that meant in a really creepy way -, was darting out of the classroom without any further word. Instead of turning her eyes towards the door, she was still staring at the spot where the girl had been only moments before.

"Bloody hell...", she eventually whispered, unknowingly using exactly the same phrase than her doppelganger had before. What had that just been?

But before Ellie could have been able to think about what just had happened any longer, Archimedes brought her back into the here and now with one strident tone right next to her ear.

"Oh, you freak of a bird!", she swore. "You shook the hell outta me!" And yet again couldn't she be mad at her feathered friend for long. "Well, okay, would have spared me from detention at least, but... OH MERDE!"

And at once all the shock about this preceding Close Encounter of the Third Kind was like forgotten; or at least like put at the end of her line of worries (a line that wasn't all too long as she permanently ignored each of them anyway). Right now there was only one worry on top of that line though: To be freaking late for detention.

Ellie hastened out of the classroom without even thinking about what actually had brought her here before. Her Walkman. Well, at some point during her detention lesson, probably already during the first five minutes, she would remember; but that meant she would have to survive one hour without. Merde.

A more or less worry-free mind might be more lucid, but also more eventful; and that not always in the positive sense meant.

Nearly two months have passed.

Yesterday, October 30th, the delegates from the other schools had arrived for the Triwizard Tournament and a celebration feast was held in the Great Hall where the Goblet of Fire and Triwizard Cup were presented.

Today, October 31st, 2017, the Goblet of Fire remains available in the Chamber of Reception for interested participants to drop in a parchment with their name until the Hallowe'en Feast tonight.

It is now time for everyone to gather in the Great Hall for the Hallowe'en Feast where the Champions will be announced.

The night passes. It is the morning of the next day.

Classes are postponed for the week to welcome the visiting schools during Tri-Wizard Championship.

A special visit to Hogsmeade is scheduled for today.

Ash floated slowly through the barren classroom, his fingertips grazing the top of each desk from underneath the sleeve of his robe as he passed by. Drawing in an inhale, Ash closed his eyes as he relished in the nostalgia of being back in this very room as Odin. The very room that he had spent the majority of his student career in. He could still hear the echoes of the praises from his Divination professor at the time, in awe of his wondrous gift. Everywhere else in the castle, his brother's name could be heard and Odin was nothing but a mere shadow in his brother's light. Odin thought that being star of the Quidditch team was nothing compared to the things he had achieved in this room. The things he still had to achieve...Odin found the round table in the bottom right corner that he used to claim as his own back in the day. Cascaded with a ruby velvet cloth with the most magnificent crystal ball perched on top, it was as if nothing had changed. In the body of his persona, Ash had a wide grin of genuine pleasure as he slid into the seat at his table. "I've returned, my old friend," Ash spoke lowly at the crystal ball on the table, as he began to raise his fingers towards the object, "We are about to achieve great things once more, you will see..."

*** Severus enters from Benjamin Boyle's Office ***


He had been wandering around the corridors for quite a while already when suddenly the whispering of words drew his attention towards one of the doors leading into a classroom. The divination class if he wasn't mistaken. The door was left ajar, so Severus was able to peek inside.

Although he couldn't make out more than the back of a person, a boy with dark medium-length hair, he had a guess who this was. Suddenly his own business was fading into the background once again.

"Is there any specific reason for you to be here at this time?", Severus made himself noticeable already before the boy could have turned to see who had entered through the door.

[Ariel]

"Is there any specific reason for you to be here at this time?"



One would simply flinch with a secret to hide if walked in on suddenly, but Ash's fingers remained caressed on the crystal ball as he took his time to raise his head up to peer upwards through his darkened locks of hair, slightly bothered by the intrusion. And it was by none other than Professor Boyle. Ash still could not place his thumb on where he knew this man from, yet he still felt the strangest sensation about him. A presence of a past was sensed between him and this Boyle, though the pictures were stuck in a fog and he just couldn't see it in plain sight yet.

"Why, Professor, I am right where I need to be in this moment. The question that remains is ... are you?" Ash asked in a defensive tone as if to be accused of some wrongdoing, and thought having a little bit of fun poking at this professor would be a harmless affair that would perhaps help trigger his memory a bit clearer.

Severus was already annoyed by the student's composure, almost as if the boy wouldn't just have gotten caught. Well, okay, Severus still had no proof that this boy was up to something nefarious but he would dig deeper into this to get a proof. And by the time he had one, some sort of punishment would be inescapable. Behind dark glasses, he watched every little movement of the boy until he finally turned to draw his attention away from the object in his hand. Of course, Severus wasn't surprised about the face that was looking back at him.

"Why, Professor, I am right where I need to be in this moment. The question that remains is ... are you?"

And the annoyance grew. Severus took a few steps further into the room before he launched into a quiet and slowly spoken answer. "You better not challenge me, Mr. Jones. I can't stand cheeky students who think they could get away with everything just because their ego is bigger than their brains." Severus couldn't help but slip in memories of just that kind of students from his own school time into his words.

[Ariel]

"You better not challenge me, Mr. Jones. I can't stand cheeky students who think they could get away with everything just because their ego is bigger than their brains."

Still sitting at the velvet clothed table, Ash peered down at his lap as he grinned in amusement at Boyle's words. A challenge was something Ash had not had in a long time. Ever since the days of Odin where a single wizard had once challenged his position as leader of a society over a difference in priorities. That had been the last time he went up against someone of his caliber, and ended up losing everything he once had. Yet, this exchange was nothing compared to the trials he had faced in his long life and if this teacher thought that he could just waltz into this space with interrogating question then he would simply be mistaken.

"I wouldn't dare to challenge my elders, Professor," Ash chuckled lightly before returning his gaze upward to where Boyle was standing, before raising himself from the chair to his feet slowly as he spoke, "Though ... it is curious that while students and faculty are on their merry way to indulge in the pleasures of Hogsmede, you Professor are found sneaking around classrooms, poking your nose into places in which you do not belong. Someone might think you'd be...up to something." Taking a few steps forward, Ash cocked his head to the side in question as his features expressed confusion and concern.

Oh, how Severus loathed this smug complacency right in front of him already; this grin of amusement spreading all over his face, obviously thinking that he couldn't be punished anyway. Oh, Severus could. And he would. With great pleasure, at that.

"I wouldn't dare to challenge my elders, Professor," His elders? Wasn't that sounding a little bit too archaic for a younker like him? Also, there was this strange feeling of knowing this boy from somewhere; from somewhere beyond these walls. Well, that was far from likely.

"Though ..." Severus narrowed his eyes at the student's though. "It is curious that while students and faculty are on their merry way to indulge in the pleasures of Hogsmede, you Professor are found sneaking around classrooms, poking your nose into places in which you do not belong. Someone might think you'd be...up to something."

And then it was on him to chuckle lightly before he spoke. "Believe me when I tell you, Mr. Jones, there are a lot of places I'd rather be right this moment, but as you might guess... this is my duty as the appointed proxy headmaster while headmaster Ogden is out of Hogwarts." Of course, this was pretty much laid on thick as headmaster Ogden had instructed him to hold the fort in his absence, actually referring to just the champions of the Tri-Wizard Tournament at that, but had never used the words proxy headmaster. That would be artistic license then. "This leads me to a question for my part then...", Severus went on as he took the last meters between them himself. "What is... your... business here?"

[Ariel]

"Believe me when I tell you, Mr. Jones, there are a lot of places I'd rather be right this moment, but as you might guess... this is my duty as the appointed proxy headmaster while headmaster Ogden is out of Hogwarts." 

Ash pondered reasons as to why Ogden would disappear from Hogwarts, especially with the Tournament looming in the near distance. Yet, this professor before him now didn't really seem to shed any sort of concern. In fact, Boyle appeared to be soaking up every last bit of his newly appointed position. The amount of pride that dripped off of the proxy headmaster was enough to make Ash's eyes roll.

"This leads me to a question for my part then...""What is... your... business here?"

"Why professor, my business here is to obtain knowledge and skill, to...further myself as some would say. This is a classroom after all...you wouldn't deprive me of such wonders now, would you?" Ash smiled as he spoke in a tone of disbelief, nearly shaking his head at Professor Boyle standing before him.

This time Severus didn't even try to hide his annoyance, and even though the rolling of his eyes couldn't be seen behind his dark glasses, his facial features alone were speaking volumes. Right now, he wished for something like a new rule that would allow punishing students for just studying. This boy was arrogant, insolent and simply unnerving.

But, after all, Severus was reminding himself how important it was to pull himself together. And so he put on a rather reluctant smile before he spoke up again. "Of course not... I was just wondering... with everyone else on the trip to Hogsmeade and... no upcoming tests either."

[Ariel]

"Well professor," Ash shrugged his shoulders apologetically, "I guess I'm just...old school that way. Though if I were you, I'd be more careful."  His eyes were glued to Boyle as he tilted his grinning chin in a way that could be perceived as accusatory. Ash knew this man was not who he said he was, yet neither was Ash himself. Ash dropped his gaze down from Boyle and to the crystal ball that perched on top of the velvet cloth and bringing his fingertips towards it he grazed the top of the ball gently. Ash took in a deep inhale as he closed his eyes, looking as if he was falling into a concentration trance, "I see a man who appears to be hard edged on the outside, yet his inside seems rather timid, frightened even. Someone who...is pretending to be someone they're not." At first, Ash was doing this act as rather to make a mockery of the professor before him, yet he felt a surge of energy suddenly shoot up his arm and into the middle of his forehead as he unintentionally pictured Boyle in his mind as he was talking about him. He couldn't make sense of what he saw, his divination skills were rusty but they were still strong with him. All he could make out was someone present in the castle who was also trying to meet a goal and familiar glimpses of the Society. But why? Was it this man before him that sparked the connection? Ash ripped his hand from the crystal ball and composing himself he darted his eyes open and stared directly at Boyle with startling curiosity.

"Who are you?"

He gave the boy a look that mixed up suspicion with ridicule when suddenly Ash started to graze the top of a crystal ball. Severus never had been really keen on divination, to be honest; so he wasn't taking it too seriously. With quite an annoyance he listened to the boy's anyway rather mockery spoken words.

"I see a man who appears to be hard edged on the outside, yet his inside seems rather timid, frightened even. Someone who...is pretending to be someone they're not."

And as little as he wasn't believing in this, as little wasn't it slipping his attention that something seemed to have changed while the boy grazed the crystal ball. Just what was it? Eventually, he looked back at him with startled curiosity.

"Who are you?"

Behind dark glasses, there was the same curiosity in Severus' eyes, yet he wouldn't allow anyone to see. And so he tried to stay as calm as he could. How likely was it that this boy had really seen something? Something of his true being behind the mask he wore.

"No more of this nonsense, Mr. Jones. We both know who I am." He leaned forward with an uninterpretable smile. "I'm Professor Boyle. Your teacher in potions... And as your teacher I give you a piece of advice... It's wise to guard your tongue."

With these words, Severus turned around to head outside. And where an expression, confident of victory, should have been placed upon his features, there was something different. Something timid almost frightened indeed. Who... was... this... boy?


*** Boyle exits ***

"I'm Professor Boyle. Your teacher in potions... And as your teacher I give you a piece of advice... It's wise to guard your tongue."

As Boyle stormed out of the classroom, Ash was left completely dumbfound by the occurrence that had just happened. His intuition was never off, this man clearly was an imposter. Ash was bitten with immense curiosity, yet was it worth it enough to stray off the path he was currently on? He couldn't lose sight of the twins, the prophecy he had been dedicating his entire lifetime to fulfill. But whoever it was hiding behind the mask of Professor Boyle, Ash was connected to this man in some way. Suddenly, the boy flinched with pain as he raised a single hand to soothe the ache in the front of his skull. He squeezed his eyes shut as he groaned lowly from the ache that had risen, sinking into the chair he sat in when he first came into the room. He was weakened and out of practice. If he wanted to fulfill the destiny of not only himself, but the twins and let alone the rest of the world then he would have to practice and increase his strength. On the outside, he resembled a young boy yet on the inside he felt as old as his true age. Resting his elbow on the velvet covered table before him, Ash held his forehead in his hand and opening his eyes slightly he tilted his head upwards to the crystal ball that perched perfectly before him. Holding his gaze on the crystal ball, he studied the clear sphere.

"We have work to do, my friend..."

*** Cami, Coco and Scarlet enter from the Corridors***

"Oooo, look at dis room!" Cami lead the newly formed pack carefully into the room which was the Divination classroom, looking both left and right to make sure there were no professors inside to give them a scolding. Cami and Coco had finally made acquaintances with Scarlet, one of their Triwizard opponents from America, and since she was by herself they decided to invite her along their impromptu excursion of the castle. The classroom was empty, all except for the eccentric draping, furniture, and odd bits that were scattered here and there, "Dis room is freaky deaky all right, what kind of things do you suppoze zey teach in dis class?" Cami expressed openly, leaving room for either girls to answer as she gazed at the teacups and orbs perched rather messily along the shelving that circled part of the classroom.

Scarlett really liked to get to know other people. And she had to admit that she always had been curious about the girls from France. Yet all of them appeared to be very polite and also fashionable.
Cami and Coco, the chosen ones for the Tournament, were a very interesting couple of best friends. They seemed to be completely different but were very close to each other.
Somehow they ended up having a good look round together. It felt good to be around with students from one of the other schools. The Tournament so might also be a good possibility to get to learn more about other cultures.

Cami was obviously one of the most curious persons Scarlett had ever met.
"Oooo, look at dis room!" "Dis room is freaky deaky all right, what kind of things do you suppoze zey teach in dis class?"
Scarlett had to giggle a bit but apart from that she kept her balance. As a model she always had been teached to do so. But now she also took an extensive look around. For her it was very clear where they stood now.
"That's easy, girls. This is a room for Divination classes. One of the most strange classes you could be 'forced' to participate in..." She used her fingers to make quotes in the air while she used the word forced.
"My agents told me and my parents that I had to take Divination classes because it would fit to my image," she explained. "But gosh, do I hate it! Most of the times it's just boring or creepy and akward. And then there are these lessons when you're not sure if you should run away in fear. I mean sometimes our teacher tells us terrible stories about what she saw in our future..." She made a short pause and shivered because of some of these memories.
"But it's also the best time to do anything else - drawing for example. That's what I often do during my Devinition classes," she added now laughing.

Unlike her best friend, Coco wasn't that excited to meet new people. She preferred meeting those she already knew were trustworthy and simply no assholes, mostly Cami though. However, this girl seemed nice, and extremely posh at that. She also wouldn't leave Cami's side just because she was much more social than herself.

"Oooo, look at dis room!""Dis room is freaky deaky all right, what kind of things do you suppoze zey teach in dis class?"

Coco gave an expression that looked rather unimpressed, a slight shrug following to serve as an answer for her part.

"That's easy, girls. This is a room for Divination classes. One of the most strange classes you could be 'forced' to participate in...""My agents told me and my parents that I had to take Divination classes because it would fit to my image,""But gosh, do I hate it! Most of the times it's just boring or creepy and akward. And then there are these lessons when you're not sure if you should run away in fear. I mean sometimes our teacher tells us terrible stories about what she saw in our future...""But it's also the best time to do anything else - drawing for example. That's what I often do during my Devinition classes,"

That sounded weird indeed to Coco, which was readable on her features. Why would they need to learn about a future unwritten yet? That's at least how she saw it. She made some bored steps through the room then, touching objects every now and again, still unimpressed, before she picked up on a random, rather unimportant line from Scarlett's explanation. "Which class fits a bitch image?" It was unclear from her tone if she was serious about this or making a joke, mostly because jokes would always come out dry and often also sarcastic.

"Which class fits a bitch image?"

Cami chuckled to herself at Coco's remark as she finished wandering the shelves and began to travel down towards the multiple round tables covered in red cloth, crystal balls perched in the middle of each one, "Well I zink it iz fascinating!" Cami exclaimed, sitting herself down at one of the tables, "Hey, do you zink zis crystal ball can show me my future prince charming?" Cami half joked as she rested a single elbow on the table before her and rested her chin in her hand. She gazed dreamily at the divination tool in front of her, if only, she thought inwardly.

"Which class fits a bitch image?"
At the very first moment Scarlett wasn't sure how she should best react to Coco's words. The darkhaired girl had a special attitude. So far she had noticed her to act sarcastic and sometimes even languid.
Cami chuckeld because of her best friend's question. She might be the one who knew her the most.
