Merida sat next to her Father, King Fergus, in the Castle's open throne room. She was chosen to take her Mother's place who was too tired from having to wrangle 3 freshly born Highland boys and her Mother, Queen Elinor, said it would be a good learning experience for the future Queen. While Merida herself was bored and desired more than anything to be out exploring her Father was ecstatic about the people coming from a far off kingdom, he loved to meet new people an share countless stories and mead with them, he was practically buzzing with anticipation. Merida struggled to put on a happy face, well that wasn't completely true spending anytime with her Father made her happy but found it hard to shake the apathetic feeling she had about meeting those from Corona.
The young Princess sat in a wooden carved throne that for now was too big for her tiny tween frame, her legs kicked the air as all they could do was wait. Her wild ember hair flowed down past her shoulders appearing as though part of the throne was on fire instead of flowing through the air while she rode her horse to conquer some new found part (to her at least) of Clans land. Alas she was contained to the room next to her Father who looked down at her gleefully his smile stretched across his face so all that the new comers would be able to see is a nose, smile and facial hair though she couldn't help but giggle at the thought.

"Did you know that Dunbroch translates into brown fort?!" The young princess exclaimed to her, admittedly less enthused, traveling companion. She reached forward and scratched Maximus behind the ears. The horse gave a snort of appreciation as he carried her forward towards their destination. "I wonder if it is? A brown fort that is. Or maybe they just call it that to throw their enemies off."
Rapunzel's eyes had been about the size of teacup saucers since they'd disembarked from the Coronian ship in the harbor. It took every ounce of restraint she had to keep from riding off, away from the party of royal guard and diplomates accompanying them, just so she could see every inch of it. This kingdom was like nothing she'd ever seen. Not that the princess had been many places, having spent her first eighteen years shut up in a tower and the year and a half in between convincing her father that she wouldn't vanish if she went beyond the castle walls, let alone the village. Still, she was certain that the wild and fierce countryside they rode through would still be impressive even if she'd traveled the entire world. "I can't imagine living in a place like this. It must feel magical!"

"Did you know that Dunbroch translates into brown fort?! I wonder if it is? A brown fort that is. Or maybe they just call it that to throw their enemies off." Eugene could not help but remember his first description to Rapunzel of the Snuggly Duckling. Smelled like the color brown. He chuckled to himself, well said. "Odds are its just to dissuade visitors. Seriously, who wants to have to entertain all the time?"
He thought about the state of the town after all the celebrations for the princesses homecoming. It must have been a party to remember, too bad he couldn't. The strain was apparent on his face though as he tried. Shaking it off he glanced up the winding road from the port and he could see it now. Lush green fields sweeping right up to imposing stone walls, a dark gray facade standing in stark contrast. "Yes, magical." The man said with a blank expression.
He then saw the guards waiting at the portcullis leading inside the fortifications. Looked eerily similar to his old pal Vlad. "Lets hope so, do you suppose they like unicorns?" He said as he produced the miniature ceramic 'gift' he had acquired. The Captain of the guard rode up to flank them, clearing his throat as a clear suggestion. Eugene closed his mouth and decided to let Rapunzel make good on first impressions, dropping the figurine back into his pouch.
