***Hope and Natalia enter from New York - Tony Stark's House***
As Hope got out of her car, she checked her phone for the information she'd been expecting from Tony. She saw that she'd missed a text from Pepper and read that first.
'It would not improve his temperament, Hope. And what would he think with then? Be safe. PP'
A short laugh involuntarily escaped Hope before she cleared her throat and checked for other messages. No text. Her brow creased and she pulled up her e-mail. Nothing there either.
"You'll need transportation once we're there," she said distractedly with eyes still on her phone. She pointed to a corner of the hangar with a small variety of motorcycles. "Take your pick. I'll get the cargo bay open." Hope pressed a few buttons and the cargo door descended then she headed for the stairs into the plane to get things started.
As she walked up the stairs, Hope could hear music coming from inside and brushed it off as Tom having left it on. A mixture of confusion and frustration at the thought that Tony might not have followed through or was taking his sweet time, making a childish point that he wasn't happy at being excluded. "Did you get anything from Tony?" she called out, glancing over toward Nat just as she'd reached the plane's threshold. Her eyes went back to her phone, scrolling around for other possible ways he might have sent the info. Suddenly, it dawned on her that it was an AC/DC song pumping through the plane's stereo system and she realization that she'd find nothing on her phone hit her.
Hope stepped forward and found Tony lounging on the couch in his Iron Man suit, sans helmet, looking smug as usual. "Son of a bitch." There wasn't any anger in her tone nor was her voice raised. It was said more in quiet resignation. "Never mind," she called out to Nat.

*Enters with Hope from New York - Tony Stark's House*
Natasha didn't comment on the sudden burst of laughter, she didn't know hope well enough to butt into her private affair. She seemed like a nice woman, perhaps they could have some kind of friendship over time? "You'll need transportation once we're there," Or now, how about right now? "Take your pick. I'll get the cargo bay open."
"Thank you," She called over her shoulder and sorted through the bikes. "Hello beautiful's," Any of these would do but that sleek looking black in the corner called her name. She rolled it towards the cargo bay...
"Did you get anything from Tony?" She was about to respond when she heard a quick reply coming from inside the plane. ...Never mind," Nat had secured the motorcycle in place before making her way up. She heard the music from inside the cargo bay and figured that Hope was a AC/DC fan.
When she reached the main cabin she saw Tony lounging on his couch and sighed. "My threat still stands, annoy me once and I will throw you out of this jet and you will fly all the way to Norway." She looked at Hope and with her dry sense of humor said, "Guess girl night is canceled."

Tony was comfortably lounging in the jet's interior's couch, dressed in his Iron Man suit, sans helmet, when suddenly Hope was standing right in front of him.
"Son of a bitch."
"Whoa! Since when are you standing there?", he asked with visible surprise, as the deafening music had made him completely fail to hear the sound of the opening door, yet not without a smug smile on his lips. He wasn't expecting an answer to that, above all not, as she just had turned around to speak to Natasha, who seemed to be still outside.
"My threat still stands, annoy me once and I will throw you out of this jet and you will fly all the way to Norway."
Who had been outside.
"Yah yah yah yah.", Tony suddenly scotched her in his usual haughty manner without even looking up at her.
"Guess girl night is canceled."
"Now where the Trio Infernal is reunited, let's have a selfie! Say Happy New Year, everyone!" Hope and Natasha both weren't being able to do anything against Tony's sudden action of drawing his cellphone and placing himself right in front of them to create a picture that would become quite a memory, to say the least.

Before Hope could register what was happening, Tony was snapping a picture. She gave the image a cursory glance and it actually brightened her mood. There was an honest hilarity to the way it captured them. Tony with his big, no-cares grin and her and Nat, looking at him with mild annoyance. It said everything about them in one simple picture.
Hope sighed, quickly clicking buttons on her phone that shut off the music and locked him out of her system. "I know I shouldn't have to say this but just to be safe, no Insta-Face-Twitting that picture," she said sternly. "War criminal, remember?" she said with her thumb hitched toward Nat. "And I don't want to damage my reputation by association." She smirked as she pointed between herself and Tony rather than herself and Nat as one last jibe at him.
Hope pushed the button near the entrance and the stairs began to lift. She took in his smug mug once more as he stood there concentrating on whatever he was doing on his phone and looking perfectly comfortable in his metal contraption. She shook her head. Even his Iron Man suit was ostentatious. "Get your shiny metal ass buckled in. Time for take-off. Ready?" she asked, turning to her co-pilot with a sweeping gesture of her arm toward the cockpit.

"Now where the Trio Infernal is reunited, let's have a selfie! Say Happy New Year, everyone!" The phone went up and she just stood there and said nothing. She could have grabbed the phone, broke it into pieces but it would be pointless. "I know I shouldn't have to say this but just to be safe, no Insta-Face-Twitting that picture, War criminal, remember? And I don't want to damage my reputation by association." She smirked when Hope motioned between herself and Tony. "Get your shiny metal ass buckled in. Time for take-off. Ready?"
"Ready," She smirked and headed for the cockpit, saying nothing to Tony.

Tony didn't need a real intent look at the photo to tell that it had come out great. His assessment anyway seemed to be restricted to mostly just the image of himself as off-centered as he was, and so he already started sweeping his fingers over the screen of his phone. "I know I shouldn't have to say this but just to be safe, no Insta-Face-Twitting that picture," Tony paused to give her a disbelieving glance. "War criminal, remember?""And I don't want to damage my reputation by association.""What kind of a chump do you take me for?", Tony finally asked with a shake of his head before he addressed himself back to his phone. His finger remained over his last activity on the screen.
'Share now?'
Of course not, Tony negated with an inner hiss as if his intention had been nothing but a joke anyway. And so he closed the Instagram window.
"Get your shiny metal ass buckled in. Time for take-off. Ready?"Tony's answer to that wasn't more than an affirming thumb up, not even looking up at her and instead slowly walking back towards the couch, while he was busy sending their selfie along with a New Year's greeting out to only his ex-girlfriend. Another good idea... "Happy New Year, love! On my way to Europe!"The message got sent out before it dawned on him that it might not have been the greatest idea to call her love. This only apprehension though slipped off his mind as fast as it had appeared. "Oh, almost forgot.", Tony suddenly spoke up in the cockpit's direction, as he directly transmitted their coordinates of interest to the on-board computer and at the same time re-logged into her system to expose them to the sound of AC/DC once again; this time a little quieter at least.
A smug grin appeared on Tony's lips, while he leaned back into the comfortable seat, his hands folded behind his head.

Hope and Nat worked the controls like a well coordinated dance with only short spoken confirmations of each step completed spoken. They were out of the hangar and starting to taxi when Tony spoke up.
"Oh, almost forgot."
Hope watched coordinates come across the computer in the middle of the console.
"Got it," she called back just before AC/DC started blaring in her plane again. Hope gave yet another exhausted sigh and punched a few keys on the computer, lowering the level of the music so that she and Nat could hear each other on take-off.
Take-off had gone just as smoothly, no surprise there. She had a feeling from what she'd seen and read about Natalia that she'd be someone Hope would not only work well with but would get along with. Those had been hypothetical thoughts. She'd never thought the opportunity would arise, but here they were.
Once they were airborne and steady, Hope set the autopilot and relaxed back into her chair. She looked toward Nat, giving her an appreciative nod. "Coordinates set. We've got a good seven hour flight ahead of us. I'll take first shift if you wanted to relax in the cabin," she offered, giving Nat the opportunity to step away if she wished but she'd spoken in a relaxed, open tone that also suggested she was welcome to hang out and chat if she wished.

Natalie didn't pay much attention to Tony or the loud music but she was grateful when hope turned it down. She helped Hope take off, picturing Tony not buckling in and flying backward off the couch he was no doubt lounging on.
Nat nodded back at her, "Coordinates set. We've got a good seven hour flight ahead of us. I'll take first shift if you wanted to relax in the cabin," Natalie shook her head.
"I rather cling to the wing of this jet then join, Stark. I'm fine here," She leaned back, glad for the autopilot. "I like how you hold your own against, Tony."

"I rather cling to the wing of this jet then join, Stark. I'm fine here,"
Hope chuckled. She rather enjoyed the few short conversations she'd had with Nat, particularly rare seeing as they'd mostly all been business like.
"I like how you hold your own against, Tony."
She looked appreciative at what she considered high praise. "He's like the brother I never wanted." Hope grinned good naturedly as she pivoted her seat to face Nat more. "We usually get along okay. Fight like siblings on occasion. You just happened upon one of the unfortunate occasions." Hope looked thoughtful for a moment. "It's probably our similar upbringing." 'Read: daddy issues,' she thought to herself. That was probably something anyone could figure just from information publicly available from various media sources not minding their business and digging into their history. Hope's however, wasn't as publicly detailed as she tended to go for the closed off, hard ass version of someone who'd grown up with daddy issues rather than the acting out, attention seeking type.
"You handle his shenanigans quite well yourself and hardly need to use words. That's really impressive," Hope pointed out. "You've gotten to work with him a lot longer than I have and still seem to have a quiet patience with him." Hope sighed and shook her head. "It took awhile for me to convince my father that it might be beneficial for Pym Tech to collaborate with Stark Industries on occasion. My father has a long history of distrust of the Starks going back to Howard and the early days of S.H.I.E.L.D. I mostly work with Pepper but with the Accords freeing up more of Tony's time, he's been sticking his nose into the business more."
Hope didn't mention anything yet about the occasional other collaboration with Tony; the one where she mostly spent her time actually working with Tony. It was habit to keep that a secret so she didn't really even think about it in her discussion.
A bit on her mind now, she was curious what it had been like before government and politics got into it. "Do you miss it? The Avengers, before the whole Accords thing?" Considering Nat was on the war criminal list, Hope assumed she'd probably been against the Accords.

At least this time Hope didn't shut down the music. They had a long flight ahead and he had to be kept entertained. Thankfully the booze could also help him to not get too deep into thoughts. Everyone thought they knew him and that he was just playing around like a pubescent, but they knew nothing. "Okay, now push off, thoughts.", Tony uttered with a flailing gesture of his hands. Suddenly the buzzing of his phone aroused his attention. Tony picked it up from the couch and opened the message coming from Pepper. A smile appeared on his lips which started to diminish though once he got to read its content.
"I have so many questions. But let's start with why are you going to Europe? Hope was supposed to stop you from doing something stupid, not drive you to it."
Tony let out a sigh of annoyance. "Seems it doesn't take more than a friendly New Year's greeting and a lovely photo to open Pandora's box..." He almost didn't feel like it anymore but typed a reply to her anyway; A reply with an unusual amount of typos at that. "I didmt know Hope's supposd to br my boss. But thenn again that'a what all of you like ti be right? So whatshall that mean? Stoo me from doing what?"All of you in this case was meant to go for women in general. Also, in Tony's message was no talk of serving her with an answer, instead just some more issues regarding only himself. So actually the normal conversation between the two of them.

A few moments later....
"I'm worried about you, Tony. Not a good way to start the year."

"He's like the brother I never wanted. We usually get along okay. Fight like siblings on occasion. You just happened upon one of the unfortunate occasions. It's probably our similar upbringing." Natasha knew a lot about both of her jet-companions, she like to gather intel on everyone she works with. It was an old habit that she couldn't break but it always worked out for her.
Natasha only nodded at that and gave a tiny smirk.
"You handle his shenanigans quite well yourself and hardly need to use words. That's really impressive, You've gotten to work with him a lot longer than I have and still seem to have a quiet patience with him."
"I'm a woman of few words, I don't have much to say- not really. Patience, yeah well with the business I'm in I need to have patience."
"It took awhile for me to convince my father that it might be beneficial for Pym Tech to collaborate with Stark Industries on occasion. "I don’t blame him for distrusting Stark or S.H.I.E.L.D. everyone has secrets. I’m sure your family has them too,” Natalie smirked.

Hope nodded in easy agreement. "I would immediately distrust anyone claiming to not have secrets because they'd have just lied to my face by making that claim." The corners of Hope's lips quirked up. Two sharp ladies exchanging knowing smirks.
Of course her family had secrets. Up until recently, her own father had fed her the lie that her mother had died in a plane crash. She'd known it was bullshit, had called him on it every time, but he'd persisted. Hope had a huge secret herself, one which Nat would be privy to once they'd landed.
Hope had brought her suit, thinking it might come in handy for a stealthier and easier means of searching. Not only would she be able to shrink to an undetectable size, move around with ease, and get into tight places, she'd also have use of the tech built into the suit. Hope didn't foresee them coming up against threats but hey, if they did, she was covered there, too.
"Do you miss it? Avenging with the boys?" There was a long period of time where Nat had been the only female on the team. Only one other had had a short lived part with the team, then the Accords happened and Wanda had to go into hiding as well. Coincidentally, Hope was now in the situation of being the only woman in the boys' club.

How am I supposed to explain that to anyone who asks?"Tony's expression changed more and more into disbelief with every further word he was reading, until it stopped on something that could be called a facial kermes. Had she really pinned the boss card on Hope?! Wait, that also meant that they had been talking about him right at his party? His gaze wandered into the cockpit's direction for a moment, before he head-shakingly replaced his phone on the couch right next to him. It was only a few moments later when another buzzing sound drew his attention. The thought of spending the rest of this New Year's Eve with arguing via text messages really displeased him, but then again was he too curious to just ignore it. With a sigh, he grabbed his phone again and opened the new message. "I'm worried about you, Tony. Not a good way to start the year."His eyes widened at that. Did she feel the need to add this because she felt bad about the commanding tone before? Well, as much as you can speak of a tone in a text; that was not the point anyway. But this was progress, wasn't it? Tony couldn't help but self-assured smiling at the small screen in front of him. So Pepper was worrying after all. He started typing, by now concentrated or maybe awakened enough to avoid more typos or at least the amount of typos his preceding message had contained. And yet again was he completely ignoring her questions.
"Okay, let's pretend you haven't sentt that first message. I'm actuallly right there with you aboit it would be a better way to start the year with you around to keep an eye on me. ;-)"

"I would immediately distrust anyone claiming to not have secrets because they'd have just lied to my face by making that claim." Natasha had to agree, anyone claiming not to have secrets are liars. Everyone had secrets, everyone had something they kept to themselves.
Natasha had her own secrets to keep, some things she would never tell a living soul.
"Do you miss it? Avenging with the boys?" Natasha said nothing for at least thirty seconds before she spoke.
"It was nice to be apart of a team." She missed it but she would never admit it, because that wasn't the kind of person she is. The Avengers had become a family and when they split up, she once against lost a part of herself and now she had a chance to make it right. She needed to find Bruce, she wanted to see if he was okay- she missed him the most.

"That is still part of my job description. But Hope will be my eyes and ears on you for now. Take care of whatever it is in Europe and come back to me in one piece."Still a smile on his lips, Tony shook his head at the new message. Why of all people she had to delegate the anyway senseless (well, for the benefit of himself needless might be a better choice of formulation) task to have a wary eye on him to Hope? This two ladies surely were interchanging too much, especially issues regarding him. Not that Tony would be too surprised they did though. The slight smile increased to one of complacency for the moment of this thought popping into his mind. Once Tony had finished reading, his eyes suddenly widened at the last part. He even reread those words another time to make sure his mind hadn't actually reworded something, and when he was sure that wasn't the case, the smile on his lips grew once again. "Pepper, I miss y", he just started typing when another incoming text made him pause. "I'm still mad at you."The preview in the taskbar notification area caused him to open Pepper's new message before he would continue his, not too mention to send it out. He usually wasn't the type of a person who was thinking about his actions beforehand, but this time it was a little different for some reason; a reason that might have something to do with the fact that he didn't want to mess things up with her... not this time. After he had opened Pepper's second text message, realizing it didn't contain more than what he had read in the taskbar already, Tony went back to his own text and after reading those few words over, started deleting them very slowly, letter by letter. Maybe it was still too early for this. His facial features completely changed to seriousness, lines of worry even covering his forehead, Tony typed a completely new text, brief and casual.
"I will. Ttyl" Then Tony put the phone aside, not even closing the messenger. He sat there in silence for some moments, in fact not more than a few seconds though, before head-shakingly decided to not let a chat with his ex getting him down. And so, instead of reminiscing about the good times Pepper and he have had, Tony raised from the couch and walked towards the cockpit door to let Hope and Natasha know he was still there by loudly knocking at it twice. "I've no idea how late it is right now, but you guys don't want to miss the countdown. I get the champagne prepared.", he talked to them through closed doors.

Don't drink and fly... that was Piloting 101. Hope exchanged a look with Nat before looking heavenward, yet a 'That's Tony for you,' quirk of amusement played on the corner of her mouth.
Hope set the door of the cockpit open. "Just one glass," she relented.
***A little over 7 hours later***
Tony had remained in the passenger area while Hope and Nat mostly remained in the front, each taking turns here and there to stretch their legs.
Hope watched the gauges as their coordinates neared. She popped her head out of the cockpit and called out. "We're approaching our destination. Everyone buckle in. We're gonna start descending in five."
Settling back into her seat, she buckled in and started flipping switches and turning knobs to adjust for landing.

Natasha didn't partake in any drinking during the flight, nothing but water passed her lips. She would let Hope humor Tony and she would take the wheel so to speak.
-A bit over seven hours-
Natasha was stretched out on the couch, stretching her legs out from the long flight. When she heard Hope say they were about to touch down, she got up and headed back to the co-pilot seat. "Time flies," Natasha said absentmindedly as she buckled in.

Time did fly, and yet, it strangely also felt like an eternity. Two and a half years since Scott and the rest of Steve Rogers' crew disappeared. A bit longer than that since she'd seen him, both of them caught up in their own distractions.
Hope figured there was a decent chance Nat might find what she was looking for but highly doubted Scott and the rest would be here. Dr. Banner hadn't been here during the whole fiasco. It was doubtful he'd returned from wherever he'd been and had conveniently bumped into or found the well hidden war criminals.
A grin was Hope's only response to Nat's comment. "Starting decent," she announced, switching to professional pilot mode.
*****
The landing went smoothly, as expected with two very capable pilots at the helm. There was nobody at the hangar of the small, private airport. Perfect. Tom had set things up perfectly, as usual.
"I need to change," she said, gesturing to the party dress she still wore. Hope stepped out of the cockpit, speaking to Tony as well now. "I've opened the cargo hold so you guys can get to the bike and whatever supplies you need." Hope grabbed her purse and headed for the small bed and bath at the back of the plane. "I'll see you two out there in a few."

Tony startled up at a voice calling out of the cockpit's direction. First, he actually had no idea where he was until he recognized the interior along with the familiar shape lingering on the other side of the couch. So, they were already there? Hm, not the worst idea to start a long flight with some more booze than usual. Well, okay, that didn't sound right for some reason. When Tony raised his head next time, Natasha was gone all of a sudden. The voices sounding from the cockpit were telling him where she had head to though. And just as he was about to have a stretch, realizing that he might have slept in kind of an unpropitious position for several hours, along with the fact that he was still wearing more than half of his Iron Man suit, the jet started to jiggle all of a sudden. "Yes, I'm awake. Thanks for having let me known we gotta prepare for landing.", he stated more to himself as he reached out to something he could get a hold on. A smoothly landing could be a matter of interpretation, regarding the state of wakefulness.
*****
"I've opened the cargo hold so you guys can get to the bike and whatever supplies you need.""I'll see you two out there in a few.""I've all my supplies where they belong, thanks.", Tony replied parenthetically before he had to realize there was actually one supply missing indeed. His helmet. Tony though didn't waste any time on searching in a vintage way, but instead drew his cellphone to open a technical app that was connected to the system of almost all his devices. "There you are.", he muttered after no more than seconds and reached out to a spot somewhere behind the couch. "Okay, I'm gonna take care of making out the exact coordinates where to pick up our big green friend.", Tony called out to the others while addressing himself to his cellphone again.

"Okay, I'm gonna take care of making out the exact coordinates where to pick up our big green friend." Natasha heard Tony but she was busy checking over the bike. she was going to have fun riding this beauty.
"Hello, Beautiful." She ran her hand along it before concealing a few weapons in a compartment.

Hope rummaged through her purse, finding the Altoids tin. She opened it, popping one into her mouth then turned the tin upside down to dump the Altoids into the lid. Hope pressed her thumb in the middle of the bottom. There was a barely discernable hum as her thumbprint was read followed by the click of a latch giving way. She lifted the false bottom and retrieved the tiny item from its hiding place, placing it on the foot of the bed.
With a few taps on her smart watch, specially designed by herself and her father, she had the hidden program pulled up and tapped the 'Restore' button. The tiny item on the foot of the bed instantaneously transformed into her full sized Wasp suit. A look of pride and joy came over her face as it always did when she had the opportunity to don her suit.
Hope made quick work of changing then pulled her hair up into a ponytail and headed out to meet the other two.
"Got our coordinates all set, Tony?" she asked as she closed the distance, her attention on checking over the gauntlets attached to her wrists, or stingers, as she and her father had come to call them. Satisfied that everything was in order, Hope looked up and grinned at Nat, knowing she could trust her to keep her secret without even asking then turned her attention to Tony.

"Got our coordinates all set, Tony?"
Tony gave a thumb up at her question without even looking up from his phone, while caring for some other preparations regarding their little mission. He also was thinking about giving Happy a call to inquire about the party's outcome, but lastly decided against. Any contact support would mean more questions, and his bodyguard was just too buddy-buddy with Pepper.
"So, you guys ready?", Tony finally asked, when everyone seemed to have taken care of their things, putting his smartphone away himself.

"Got our coordinates all set, Tony?"
Natasha was already sitting on the bike when she took a look at Hope. A small smile appeared on her face, so, Hope Van Dyne is Wasp. She rolled the bike closer and took a good look at her outfit and nodded, "Look good."
"So, you guys ready?"
"You two lead the way, I'll track you." She put on her helmet and started up the bike.

"Look good."
Hope grinned her appreciation over the compliment and unspoken trust of discretion. She handed Nat an earpiece. Hope's communication was built into the suit as part of the neural reaction system that allowed her to control the suit with thought.
"So, you guys ready?"
'Activate helmet,' Hope thought and as commanded, the helmet pulled from its resting place in the back of her suit and whipped over her head to snap into place. "Ready," she acknowledged.
"You two lead the way, I'll track you."
"Roger that," Hope said, putting two of her fingers to her forehead then pulling away in a sort of acknowledgement solute. Her smile was hidden by her helmet but it could be seen in her eyes.
As Tony had the coordinates, Hope waited for him to lift off before mentally having her wings lift her off the ground. A second later, she shrank to insect size and zipped after him.

"Wow, I can't help but find this image of you playing Tinkerbell enchantingly lovely.", Tony's tinny voice reached out to Hope once both of them had gotten dressed up and were flying side by side. The iron helmet shook simultaneously to his joking, as he would have to chase away the mental picture of Hope dispersing some kind of pixie dust on their route. Tony's smug smile was hidden by his helmet but it could be guessed behind.

Hope's grin was hidden within her helmet but wouldn't have been seen in her current size. Her amusement could be heard in her retort.
"Yah? I'm getting an image of visiting your garage when we get back and using my pixie dust to turn all your precious cars into Hot Wheels."
