Gah, I'm so tempted again to just hit that 5 star rating every time! But then I have to remember eps like The Constant and Ab Aterno (which is one you haven't gotten to see yet!) So a good 4 1/2 stars from me!
We finally got a flashback kinda episode for Danielle! Jin got to experience her story firsthand. It was so neat to see it all come to life. We saw how Montand lost his arm and what had caused the rest of Danielle's group to get the "sickness" she was referring to. If Jin hadn't been there to stop her from going down that hole, she probably would have gotten the sickness as well.
It's not really clear if this sickness is really a thing but I'm guessing it probably is in some form. Robert, Danielle's love and father of her child, seemed fanatically protective of the island with knowledge of the smoke monster being a security system. I think when they were down there, they were probably exposed to what is keeping the island safe or what's running the island. Jacob, maybe? Who knows. There's always someone fanatically protecting the place, even at the expense of others. Robert was ready to shoot the pregnant mother of his child without blinking an eye.
It was really neat to see her music box, the one that Sayid ends up fixing in the future, still in working condition at that point.
I got teary-eyed during Jin and Sawyer's reunion and at Daniel and Charlotte's last scene.

So sad. Poor, sweet Daniel.
I cracked up with Ben swerved the car over to a stop, pissed off and tired of everyone so casually talking about kicking his ass or killing him. XD He actually seemed genuine when he said he's been working on keeping the people on the island safe. Honestly, I don't think that's the real reason he's doing it. I think he just wants to get back and doesn't want Charles to find the island which conveniently also means keeping the other survivors safe.
Charlotte grew up on the island! It was so sad that her mom made her feel crazy as a child, saying the whole experience was just her imagination. This totally explains why she was so happy when she first found the polar bear remains and her smile and giddy joy when she'd first landed in the lake after parachuting. Sadly, as she was dying, she recalled a strange man who'd warned her to never come back to the island, who she's claiming she realizes now was Daniel. So sad.
Man, those flashes were happening fast and often this episode! It was neat to finally see the donkey wheel after Ben used it and to see how it's off its access. Neat to make the connection to that and the time hopping.
Oh man. Poor Locke. His life is kinda shit. He seems to have nonstop problems with his leg. This break was nasty. Seeing the bone sticking out, my stomach was turning. Then Christian wouldn't help him but Locke actually looked happy about that. It's like it made him feel as if his purpose was even more important because of that.
Seems he also knew he was going to die and was perfectly accepting of the idea of being a sacrifice the island demands. So now we can figure out how it is that Locke had ended up back on the mainland, meeting up with the Oceanic 6.
Man, poor Jin. He gave his ring to use as a device to convince Sun his dead body had washed up and instead, Ben is using it to convince Sun that Jin is alive.
Yay, Desmond joined up with them at the end! I so love the reunions. And Ben looked genuinely WTF over the fact that ELOISE IS DANIEL'S MOM!! You might not remember that Daniel had named his rat Eloise, so apparently after his mother. Then the look on Desmond's face when he lays eyes on this Eloise woman only to realize it's the same freakin' woman from his strange mind trip to the past!
Crap, I just remembered something bad about Desmond showing up. Now Ben knows that Penny is close.

Fun Fact: Sun reads the inscription on Jin's ring out loud in Korean. It translates to "we will never be apart".
