4 stars from me!
Not as exciting and not as much happening as in the season premiere, but they're settling us into these flashsideways and easing us into these new Temple people.
Once again, I just love seeing people from the past! Arzt in front of the cab was hilarious! "I'm walkin' here!!" Omg, and Ethan! As the freakin' ob/gyn of all things! Seems he was destined to be a part of Claire's pregnancy. It's hard not to feel creeped out when seeing him, but here, he seems genuinely happy. It seems never ending up on the island was good for him and for his life. I also noticed his different last name. In season 1, his name was Ethan Rom. In the flashsideways, it's Ethan Goodspeed. He still has the actual last name of his birthparents because he was never taken by the Others. Not sure where Rom came from. Maybe some unknown Other we never met?
I totally cracked up with Ethan said to Claire that he doesn't want to unnecessarily stick her with needles when that's all his island version self did to her. XD
In the flashsideways, when Claire blurts out the name of her baby as Aaron, there was this hint of recognition on Kate's face and Claire claimed it just came to her. Is it possible these flashsideways have a connection to what happened to them in another life? Very interesting! I also noticed that Kate and Claire seemed to bond quickly. Could explain why she so easily decided to get back in the taxi with Kate and even asked Kate to go up to that house with her. Very sad about how that woman's husband left her, and that's why they didn't show up to pick up Claire at the airport.
If the reason for Claire being in L.A. is the same in the original timeline, with the psychic first telling her that she must be the one to raise the baby, then later convincing her that there's only one other couple in L.A. who could if she didn't, it could be he knew how things would unravel with the relationship breaking up and that it would all lead to Claire keeping Aaron.
By the way, that killer whale stuffed animal Kate pulled from Claire's bags, that's the same killer whale stuffed animal that Aaron was holding in the flashforward when he wakes up and leaves his room cuz Jack and Kate were fighting.
Back to our original timeline, it was so heartbreaking to see James break down over his loss of Juliet. Omg and the ring and revealing he was planning to propose. So very sad. Kate broke down as well. All this time, she's loved both Jack and James and it seems she finally realized after his breakdown, when he walks away and says he doesn't want anything to do with any of them anymore, that she's lost him for herself as well.
Poor Sayid! I wonder what Dogan and these Temple people are all about. Are they crazy or do they have this whole other understanding and knowledge of the island and the two important entities from it?
When Dogan told Jack that Sayid had a darkness growing in him, same as what happened to "your sister", I have to think it's linked to MIB. MIB ended up enticing Claire away in the guise of her father (and Jack's father) Christian. I remember her just walking away and leaving Aaron, then later in that shack looking all chill, sitting there with "Christian". So based off what Dogan said, it sounds like MIB has a way of manipulating people. Instilling them with a darkness. It also made me recall Danielle, way back in the day, saying that her people developed an illness. We even got to see that happening in a Danielle flashback, what, a season or two ago? They acted like crazy cult people.
It seems Sayid developed this growing darkness from the Temple pool, whose water was murky and dark rather than clear. Dogan and his people were skeptical about the pool's murkiness. It turned that way after Jacob died. Wonder if with Jacob's death, MIB was able to corrupt those pure waters? Jacob was the light and MIB was the darkness. Without Jacob's light to at least create a balance, what is the fate of the island and the people on it?
Speaking of, I'm really missing the other characters outside of the Temple. Hope we get to see what's going on with them in the next episode!

4 stars from me as well, as for the same reasons. Good, but not as great as the season premiere was. Still, got teary-eyed at several scenes, to be honest; which I actually do on A LOT of Lost episodes! I thought the same thing as for Ethan in the flashsideways. I couldn't help feeling a shiver running down my spine when I saw Ethan talking about Claire's baby, an almost inordinate smile upon his face. XD Gosh, the actor is brilliant. I noticed the recognition on Kate's face when it came to the baby's name! I'm so curious about how everything will come together and how the show actually will end! Although... I don't want it to end. Also, I'm a little afraid that I won't be liking the end because I heard a lot of people saying it would suck.. I feel so terrible for Sawyer... I wish Juliet could come back somehow. Or that she will at least show up in the flashsideways and meet up with Sawyer there! I can't stand these Temple people, seriously. XD They are annoying me. And I knew Jack would take that pill on his own, or at least that he would try. I don't think though that these people are simply crazy. Missing the other characters as well! Especially Ben! XD

Four stars for this episode from me!! I do agree with Tony, the scenes at the temple are getting a little old, but I am living for these flash bits. I adore Kate and Claire's scenes together and thought it was funny that Ethan was her doctor at the hospital! It's hard to see Sawyer so heart broken, the scene on the dock with Kate was sad but truly well done.
MILES: Uh, as you can see, Hugo here has assumed the leadership position so that's pretty great
