Area of Survivor's CampOne of the areas that survivors have set up camp. Outside areas not taking place inside survivors' tents or shelters.Location found in box F3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

HEIDI
I was used to sleeping in a dark room so when the sun started to rise, so did I. I tried to go back to sleep but just couldn't so for the past few hours, I sat cross-legged, propping my head on my hands as I stared out at the ocean willing a rescue boat to appear. I did managed to drift off a couple times but not for long. I was exhausted. More people had started to stir and the buzz of conversations were back up to normal levels and the conversation picking back up with where we'd all left off as everyone had finally drifted to sleep. I listened in to one of the conversations happening near me, adding my own internal thoughts.
It didn't sound like an animal. Not exactly, I mean.
Exactly. More like some kind of machine, I thought.
That sound that it made, I keep thinking that there was something really familiar about it.
The thought that the sound was familiar to someone comforted me even more because it helped convince me further that it was nothing to worry about.
Really? Where are you from?
The Bronx.
Might be monkeys. It's monkeys, right?
Sure it's monkeys. It's Monkey Island.
I chuckled.
Technically, you know, we don't even know if we're on an island.
We're on an Island.
That's exactly what I was wondering; was this an island or just something everyone was assuming? But then that nice guy that had helped me out of my jammed seat belt sounded so adamant about his answer that I now believed this was an island. I racked my brain trying to remember his name and then realized that I'd never introduced myself. I'd always been so horrible about introducing myself.
KATE
The last thing she and Jack had been talking about last night was going after the transceiver which meant finding the front of the plane. She was up and ready to go. She looked around and found Jack staring out at the ocean.
"You ready?" she asked as she walked up behind him.
Kate, you showed me where the smoke was. I can get there myself.
She appreciated his concern but she was adamant about going. "I'm coming."
Well, you're going to need better shoes.
His smile suggested that he knew he'd been wasting his breath. She looked down at her feet. He was right. "Okay," she said. "Give me a couple minutes."
Kate walked around, quickly shuffling through some luggage that looked like it hadn't been claimed by anybody yet but the couple of pairs of proper shoes for traipsing through the jungle she came across weren't her size. As she passed the body of a man while moving to another set of luggage, she paused and looked down at his feet. Hiking boots. She knelt down and carefully removed one of the shoes to check the size. It was a half-size too big but it would do.
She knew that it was a perfectly logical thing to do. This man wouldn't need the shoes anymore and she did. But she still couldn't help the feeling that what she was doing was so wrong. Feeling self conscious, she looked around to see if anyone had caught her taking the shoes off a dead man. Her eyes fall on a bald man watching her and she couldn't look away. She wondered what was going through his mind as he'd witnessed what she'd been doing. But then he smiled at her. An orange peel smile. It caught her off guard and for some reason, she found it slightly... disturbing. He just kept on eating the orange and looked away. Kate wasn't sure to make of the whole exchange.

Jasmine had been up early, mostly because the pain in her side. She would normally be sleeping until late afternoon unless she had something important to do. Jasmine took her time and practice to walk around, keeping herself moving. She made her way towards the wreckage and found the woman who was talking about going to the cockpit, something about a piece of equipment. "Excuse me, Kate right?" she hoped she got her name right, she hated to think of getting her name wrong. "I heard you are gong to the cockpit? I was sitting in first class and, well i left my suitcase. If someone could bring it back for me? Its not very big and it has some of my things that i really need."

KATE
Kate sat on a piece of wreckage and began changing from her shoes to the hiking boots.
"Excuse me, Kate right?"
Kate glanced up for a second before returning her attention to tightening the laces on the boots. "Yah, that's right."
"I heard you are gong to the cockpit?
Word traveled fast among the survivors. Kate would have to remember to be careful what she said.
"I was sitting in first class and, well i left my suitcase. If someone could bring it back for me? Its not very big and it has some of my things that i really need."
Kate paused again and looked up at the woman. They were going trek into the jungle to find the transceiver so they could call for help and get rescued and this woman's main concern was getting her suitcase? At first, she thought the woman was being ridiculous but then Kate remembered the Marshal's Haliburton case that held the only thing she had left of her childhood friend and first love. Even in the situation they found themselves in now, she really wanted that stupid toy airplane back.
"I'll see what we can do, but our first priority is finding the transceiver. Just... please don't mention it to anyone." The last thing they needed was for more people to ask them to look for their things.

"Thanks so much, and don't worry I won't say a word." Jasmine smiled and moved to find a place to sit and be as comfortable as possible. Jasmine needed to sit down and rest a little bit, her side was throbbing. She wouldn't mind going to the cockpit herself but she would never make it and it would slow them down. "Good luck," she told them, because she wanted to get off this island and back to civilization.

Earlier:
Rise and freakin' shine. Ana leaned over to check that a; the kids were still tight in her grasp and b; she hadn't rolled over on their hand or something. Then again, there would have been a scream or something so she wasn't terribly worried. She let go of them and slowly sat up on her knees to yawn and stretch out her arms. Everyone seemed to be sound asleep along the beach and it had still been pitch black but at least early early in the morning. The brunette had climbed up the sandy hill closer to the outskirts of the jungle and leaned up on her toes to get a mango from a tree. Her stomach was growling for some kind of food and she was determined beyond anything to get some.
Having enough of trying to jump up and failing, Ana quickly grabbed onto a stick and slammed it into the higher tree as a piece of fruit dropped down. It wasn't long before that piece of food was devoured completely and the Latina was already jogging the beach at full speed to keep up her fitness.
---
NOW:
Her gaze averted to the redhead not too far away who had been looking after the kids after she found some food for them and headed towards the water to at least wash the ends of her dark curls and put them up in a low ponytail. Man, smelling like salt would get old soon.
That brunette haired woman was off to the side talking to Jack, she couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy or slight concern. Whatever it was, it wasn't any of Cortez' business. However her ears perked up when she heard words about going to find the transceiver. Rumblings of a suitcase and then the other girl was taking shoes off of a cadaver.
Ana frowned and decided to head over to Jack. "You weren't fine yesterday, so be honest with me now." giving him a matter of fact look. "I'm going with you guys, I can at least cover you both on ground level if we run into any problems. I've got your back." the tomboy up-nodded to him in hopes that he'd at least let someone help him for a change. He seemed stubborn but also scared. Wasn't everyone?

JACK
"You weren't fine yesterday, so be honest with me now...I'm going with you guys, I can at least cover you both on ground level if we run into any problems. I've got your back."
"Yeah, well, there's a lot of other people to worry about besides myself," he stated, even though the pain in his side was still lingering. "That's why we need to find the transceiver and get it working. You're not gonna' stay here and keep an eye on things, are you?"
He met her resolved face with a slight grin and a shake of his head. If they did happen upon whatever was tossing around those trees like toothpicks, maybe Ana-Lucia could scare it away with her glare. "Fine. We're heading out now," he relented. "Maybe the drinks tray is intact; we can get you another tequila and tonic."

KATE
Kate looked up, searching for Jack as she tied off the bow on the hiking boot. He was speaking to a woman near a small group of people. She made her way over and only caught the last part of what he'd said.
"...can get you another tequila and tonic."
Kate looked from Jack to the woman in curiosity. Did she and Jack know each other? She felt a small twinge of... something, but she squashed it before acknowledging it. "I'm all set," she said to Jack before turning to the woman.
Jack introduced the two women before excusing himself and turning to the group to announce their plans and to make sure the injured were looked after.
"Nice to meet you, Ana Lucia." She held out her right hand and smiled. "I take it you're joining us?" She glanced at Jack. "And I'm guessing Jack tried to talk you out of it, too?"
CHARLIE
Charlie had been near the group talking about the fuselage and what should be done with the bodies. It'd been too long since he'd had a hit and he was starting to get twitchy. The doctor approached and made an announcement to the group about finding the cockpit and the transceiver and while the doctor gave special instructions to Boone about the injured, Charlie began forming a plan. The doctor said they were going to the cockpit. Charlie had thrown his stash in the first class toilet. There was a possibility it was still there and that thought gave him a fresh surge of need for a hit.
"I'll come with you. I want to help," he said as he walked alongside Jack.
I don't need any more help."
Charlie wouldn't take no for an answer and besides, he hadn't asked the doctor's permission. He had made a statement and he did so again. "No, it's cool, I don't really feel like standing still, so..." The doctor nodded and Charlie added, "Excellent."

Sarah sat down where she had slept for the night and sighed, hugging Mr. Floppers and watched the people around the camp. Everyone wasn't sure what to do, they looked so lost, guess she was too. some people were sleeping soundly as well, how they could sleep with all the noise and heat- well it was beyond her. Rolling her eyes she curled up on a blanket and closed her eyes.

Her eyebrow arched up in a flirty fashion and up-nodded to Jack with a certain spunk in her expression and step.
"I'd like that."
When Kate leaned over and introduced herself, Ana nodded to her as well and gave her a firm hand shake. "Nice to meet you." her husky voice exhaled. "Kate, right?" having overheard it used somewhere over yonder. She had kept everyone's faces and gestures in her mind as to identify everyone so that if they were attacked or anything she knew who was who and how to tell everyone apart as well.
Then Charlie came along out of no where and her mouth turned down into a frown. The way he spoke, the way he looked... why was there something familiar about that guy?
"...where the hell do I know you from? ...can't place it but you've got that look to you." she bluntly said while looking at Charlie. The young woman had always been an avid music fan and liked anything and everything as long as it had a good beat and a good message to it. But for the life of her she couldn't put her finger on who he was or where he was from.
Out of the corner of her eye she caught sight of a certain rabbit and a certain young blonde roaming the beach. Ana Lucia waved slightly and also leaned down so she could wave as well to Mr. Floppers from afar but to his height level. "Stay with the nice lady, all right?" Cortez pointed to the redhead who had Jessie beside her stuffing her face with a piece of fruit. Heidi was actually a good candidate too considering Sarah had wanted to stay with her the other day. However it seemed Sarah was sound asleep by the time she even got a word out. Cute.
"All right...no more people or we're going to split up in the middle of an unknown and huge jungle." she stated matter of fact. "Ready?" and she started up the sandy beach hill jabbering away to Charlie as they walked but got more quiet as they went on.

Little Sarah
Sarah had moved away from Jessie and the others, they were making her nervous and she didn't like many people. Not that she wasn't grateful for everything, but she just wanted to be left alone until the rescue came. She wanted her mum and dad and she wanted to just- well she wanted to feel safe again. It was hard to feel safe when people were always watching you. Some of the others were looking at her strangely, probably because she was the little girl who started off talking french and suddenly she was back to normal. Sarah wanted to keep everyone safe, and to do that she had to keep away. Sighing she held onto Mr. Floppers, "Don't worry Mr. Floppers, we'll be home soon." she kissed him.

Sitting and staring out at the ocean was starting to drive me crazy. Time was crawling. I had to do something. Keep myself busy and distracted until rescue arrived. I saw an older bald man eating an orange and my stomach growled. Where did he get an orange? I loved oranges. Man I could go for an orange right now. Please tell me there's some random orange tree growing among the tropical trees. Yah right. He probably found it. Damn. The last thing I had eaten was one of those tiny cold airplane meals. Time to see what I could do about food.
I got up and wandered around a bit, trying to figure out if there was a place it was being kept and how things were being handled. Was someone in charge of it or had it been one of those panic situations where people had already gone through everything for foodstuffs and hoarded it? I hoped not. If we were here longer than we had anticipated, things would get ugly.
Some of the luggage from the flight had been collected and put into a few piles. Things looked fairly untouched as if people were still at the point respectful of other people's property but if things didn't start getting claimed soon, I had a feeling it would become free for all. Maybe I could find my things? Oh please let me find my things!, I thought over and over to myself. My own clothes. My own things. The only little piece of home I could have until actually going home.
I glanced around one pile, shuffling things around carefully, mindful of other people's property. No luck here. Moving on to another pile, my luck changed. Shifting things around again, I saw a dark blue waterproof backpack. I grabbed one of the handles and pulled it out of the pile and turned it around. "Yes!" I said to myself. It had the Disneyland castle embroidered on the front pocket and my name tag on it. Let's see if I was on a lucky streak, I thought as I started to look around for my red suitcase. Several red ones stood out. A couple of them looked like the same brand I had. I checked the travel tags until finally, I found mine! Such a stupid thing had me beaming. Throwing one of the straps of my backpack over one shoulder and grabbing the handle of my suitcase. But where exactly was I going to go? Not like I had an established place. We were all just sleeping on the beach under the sky.
I looked around for a spot not too crowded (I was uncomfortable around too many people I didn't know) and my eyes fell on that little girl from the day before. She sat alone hugging her little stuffed bunny. Aw, how sad, I thought to myself as I started to make my way toward her.
"Hi, er, um, bonjour. Do you mind if I sit here?" I asked, gesturing to the spot next to her, hoping she understood me. I wasn't sure how good her English was or if she knew any English at all.

"Hi, er, um, bonjour. Do you mind if I sit here?" Sarah looked up and smiled, it was the nice lady from earlier, "No I don't mind." Sarah smiled when the woman used Bonjour, and chuckled. "I speak english." she debated if she should tell her more, but she hardly knew her and she didn't want to give to much of herself away. Tho she knew she should explain a little something. "When i get scared i forget things and become another person." and that seemed like enough. "I'm Sarah, this is Mr. Floppers."

"When i get scared i forget things and become another person. I'm Sarah, this is Mr. Floppers."
I sat down and leaned against my suitcase. "Hi Sarah. Mr. Floppers." I shook one of the bunny's arms. "He's adorable. I'm Heidi." I pulled my backpack into my lap and started digging through it. "We all have different ways of dealing with things. My thing is to block. Kinda just ignore something that happened for as long as I can. I guess you could say it's sort of a version of denial. Probably not the best way to deal with things but hey, it's what works for me."
I found a couple of the chocolate chip granola bars I'd thrown in my carry-on backpack. "Want one?" I asked, holding one out to her. "They're a little squished but still good."

"Thank you for not running away, a lot of people just get up and walk away from me. That Jessie girl seemed a little scared after i told her about me and, well now I don't feel comfortable around her. Then Ana went somewhere and- well sometimes i think its best if i just stay by myself." "Don't worry about Jessie. I'm sure she'll come around and if she doesn't," I shrugged, "it's her loss. You guys are young and things that are different can seem so scary at that age."
I unwrapped the granola bar and took a small bite, savoring it. Not being sure when or what my next meal would be, I was going to make this damn thing last.
"As far as Ana Lucia, she didn't leave because of anything you did. She went with the group to go find the transceiver so that the rescue people can find us. They're all very brave to go wandering into that jungle without even knowing exactly where they're going or what kind of animals live in there. Or spiders!" I gave a dramatic shudder. "I hate spiders." Or whatever that thing was we heard last night, I added to myself. I had convinced myself it was just some kind of machine and I was sticking to that belief.
I looked over at Sarah, not sure what to say. I never was very good at talking to kids and usually tended to avoid them unless they looked lost or looked like they needed help. In this case, she had been alone and looked like she'd needed someone to talk to and, well, same with me.
"Did you build that sandcastle?" I asked, pointing out toward the shore.

She was a smart girl, and it was easy to pick up on things that others had trouble picking up. "I like spiders, as long as they don't jump at my face. I like the ones that kind of just crawl and don't try to kill you." Sarah smiled.
"Did you build that sandcastle?" Sarah looked out and smiled.
"Yeah i did, i was up early this morning and I had nothing better to do. I wanted to make it bigger but, well i don't want to start something that I won't be able to finish. I like to finish things when i start them, so, depending on how long rescue will take."

I had let go of Sarah's hand and was doing my best to wring the water out of my hair. We stood facing the beach and the people huddling under covers. Suddenly, everyone stared, some in shock, some fear, some both, at the trees to our right. I glanced over and saw the trees moving as if something big was moving through them. And it was moving toward us. I couldn't get the scream past the lump of fear in my throat.
"Run!" I yelled as I grabbed tightly onto Sarah's hand and ran away from the trees back into the rain. When we were far enough, I turned back around to see what was going on. It looked like whatever it was had started moving inland. About the same direction the transceiver group had gone.
My heart was racing and I was shaking so hard with fear that my legs could hardly keep me upright. Seeing that it was moving away, I let myself sink down to a sitting position in the wet sand as I gathered Sarah closer as much for my own comfort as I was intending for her. I liked whatever that thing was far better last night when it was making that loud mechanical sound. Seeing that it could move in such silence was incredibly unsettling. What the hell was that thing? By the way the trees moved and bent, it had to be the same thing as last night.

When the rain started to fall, Jasmine was on her feet quickly. she felt her side pull but it was better to get out of the rain, she needed to keep her stitching dry. Jack said to keep away from water and she was going to listen to him. Moving quickly she found shelter with the others, hiding under a blanket and the wing of wreckage. "Can someone wake me when this nightmare is over, because this is just insane."
Alisha
I was happily sleeping in La la land when I heard something in the distance. It sounded like it was getting closer and i ignored it with a grumble. Since i hid my face from the storm i couldn't see that it was getting darker and then i felt it- something pelting my entire body. The cold water woke me up the rest of the way, i was drenched in seconds and i felt my whole body shiver. I couldn't move, the water was beating down so hard, the sand turned to mush and i was recovering from a dislocated leg. This trip had started out so good and now it had gone to shit, "Help me, someone I can't move!" I crawled an inch or so, i felt the strain on my leg and collapsed.
Little Sarah
Sarah looked out, people were huddled under covers and such. She couldn't help but think how bad she felt for the others, the ones caught in the rain. Then she heard it, something moving beside them. Sarah looked to Heidi and saw her staring at something and she found herself following her gaze. The trees were moving and something was coming and fear hit but she forced it down- she couldn't afford to lose it, not again. and then Heidi...
"Run!" Sarah ran with Heidi, the woman having her hand tightly as they ran from the trees. The water pelting them hard and when they were far enough she looked back to see. The thing was moving away from them and towards the group that left, "Heidi, they're going to get hurt." Sarah was about to say something more when she heard the call for help. Heidi was on the ground now and she knelt down beside her. "Heidi, we-we have to move. Someone needs our help," she held onto Heidi as she woman pulled her close but pulled back slightly to get a hold of her. "Heidi, look at me. we have to help her." Sarah smiled and pointed to the person about ten feet away, caught between where they were and the treeline.

I looked to where Sarah pointed. A girl was stuck out in the rain and couldn't move. Probably injured her leg in the crash. Most covered places on the beach were taken and there was no way in hell I was going toward the trees anytime soon. "Okay, okay. Let me think." I took a couple of breaths and let them out slowly, calming myself so I could form some rational thoughts. I needed to find something to use as cover. That way, we don't have to move her and risk anymore damage to her leg.
I scanned the beach through the thick rain and underneath one of the piles of luggage, I could see the blue of a tarp. "Over there," I said, pointing. "We need to get that tarp." I rushed over and grabbed hold of the corner of the tarp and pulled but it wouldn't budge. There was too much luggage piled up on it. I started grabbing suitcases and bags and dragging them off the tarp. This was going to take too long. We definitely could use one or two other sets of hands.

GWEN
The movement in the trees seemed to have stopped for the moment. Then her eyes were drawn to the curly-haired girl from last night's bonfire, pushing and tossing pieces of luggage aside to get to the plastic underneath. Gwen figured she couldn't get any more soaked than she already was, so she might as well try to help since there was little existing shelter from the storm.
"Heidi?" she approached, calling out what she hoped was the girl's name. "You need some help?"
