So, the Dark One had heard of a man, or rather a monster just like himself, that had traveled a particular distance only to find the creature that had divested him of his person of interest. And yet, hadn't Rumplestiltskin left another monstrous creature in his wake to make up for that? ingratitude lately seemed to spread just like the plague... He could only guess the special bond between Dracula and Gerhardt, or better known as Frankenstein's monster, nowadays. He actually never cared for the monster or anything Viktor had accomplished with his science nonsense. He didn't even care about the scientist's whereabouts or if he was still alive.
Anyways, it was always good to know your foes. What you know, that you can destroy. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not even in this land... but it won't do any harm getting to know each other already now.
With his face hidden under a hood, the Dark One was sitting in the shadows of a solitary table, awaiting the count to arrive here any moment. To not make himself look too ominous, he had ordered a mug of rum, just like everyone around did, sipping on it every now and then.

A sophisticated glass of whiskey on the rocks was being toyed with in the hands of Dracula before taking a mindless sip. From the single table he sat at in the tavern, his seductive gaze was aimed on the attractive bar maiden that remained behind the counter. Her infectious laugh had all of the men in the tavern under her spell, her curly blonde locks bobbed up and down as she moved along the bar to serve their needs. Amused by her charm, getting to know this woman wasn't Dracula's only desire that evening. He stared at the naked spot on her neck, and fantasized about what her blood would taste like. Sweet, perhaps, like her spirit? Oh yes, he would drain the charming youth out of her, slowly but surely as he would make her last while during his stay...
Suddenly, Dracula's eyes flickered to a spot in the tavern that he could have sworn was vacant moments ago. A cloaked man with a hood over his head was spotted alone in the shadows, indulging in his own company. Dracula snickered to himself in amusement, for he also enjoyed his own company. Yet, the energy this cloaked stranger gave off intrigued Dracula enough to tear him away from his next victim, and he felt invited to move his drink to the secluded table in the far corner of the tavern.
"A mug of rum? How...typical," Dracula commented with slight sarcasm as he plunked himself into the empty chair across from the hooded stranger, "Typical for someone who is attempting to appear as if they belong...but you don't belong here, do you?" Dracula cocked his head to the side slightly as he took a sip of his own drink.

Maybe for once, Rumpletstiltskin hadn't been aware of the fact that the person he was waiting for had been already there for the whole time. It seemed that it wasn't only himself who was good at hiding in the shadows. Rumple wouldn't admit that, of course, but, in this case, the other one might even have outdone him. Oh no no, no way he ever would admit something like that.
"A mug of rum? How...typical,"
Rumplestiltskin raised his head to the sudden voice only slightly - unimpressed and less surprised than he actually was. Also, for now, he was still playing his role as the lonesome visitor who had no interest in talking to anyone.
"Typical for someone who is attempting to appear as if they belong...but you don't belong here, do you?"
A devilish grin appeared under the hood, only a flash of that to be seen, before he launched into an answer, keeping his voice quiet and kind of mysterious. "A glass of whiskey... Typical for someone who wants to stand out to frankly show that they don't belong. If I've had to guess, my assumption would have been something else though. Something like... bloody-red wine..." The grin widened, showing some golden teeth underneath.

"Well, I'll admit, I do usually prefer something...sweeter," Dracula peered down at the glass of whiskey in his hand, amused that this stranger was just as fast to try to figure him out as he was with him. He had moderately sipped his glass of whiskey here and there through the night, yet the stranger was right to assume that Dracula's preference was beyond anything ordinary, "Though, it's the company that I much prefer than the typical indulgences of getting drunk in a tavern." Smirking, his eyes peered from the glass that he had lost appetite for since his discovery of the barmaid and up to the cloaked stranger, "I hope you don't mind that I've joined you, -umm...," Dracula hesitated as he gestured his hand to the stranger, unsure of what to call him. Perhaps introductions were in order.

"Well, I'll admit, I do usually prefer something...sweeter," Yes, he could well believe that - but to each his own. "Though, it's the company that I much prefer than the typical indulgences of getting drunk in a tavern." Just as his choice of drink went pretty much along with the company, Rumplestiltskin thought with a sneer, still hidden under his hood.
"I hope you don't mind that I've joined you, -umm...," So, now they were getting to the more interesting part.
A sudden giggle, only loud enough to get heard in close vicinity, came from the cloaked stranger sitting across from the count, before the Dark One finally released his true being...
A toothy grin was playing around his lips as he started to introduce himself. "Rumple..stiltskin. Or... the Dark One. Whatever you think has a better ring to it." He was pretty sure that Dracula would have done his homework and, if not already the face, at least these names would ring a bell.
Suddenly some guys on the table next to them rose from their seats to sit somewhere else. Rumplestiltskin didn't bother that, no, he even appreciated his bad reputation.

"Rumple..stiltskin. Or... the Dark One. Whatever you think has a better ring to it."
"Ah, a man of many names. You must be popular...," Dracula's inquisitive tone trailed off as they both tilted their gazes at the same time in the direction of the people sitting at a table closest to them made an alarming exit. "...Huh," Dracula's remark was nothing short of astonishment as he composed himself and returned back to the Dark One. "...I've got many names as well. However, most call me Count Dracula. Or just Dracula to those that have gotten to know me on a rather...personal level," Dracula grinned a mischievous toothy grin, showing off his fangs, "So tell me, Dark One, what part of your game are we playing?" Dracula asked nonchalantly whilst keeping his guard up. It was no secret that he was seeking out this dark imp, and from what he had heard this Rumplestiltskin was quite the playful trickster.

"Ah, a man of many names. You must be popular...,""...Huh," And Rumplestiltskin's head turned back towards the count quite simultaneously. "...I've got many names as well. However, most call me Count Dracula. Or just Dracula to those that have gotten to know me on a rather...personal level,"
"Yes, I know who you are..." he muttered through his teeth like Dracula's attitude of pretending to not be aware of the fact that they both knew exactly who the other was, would annoy him. Or did Dracula seriously not know that Rumple had been keeping an eye on him for years already? Well, never mind. Now they both were here, facing each other for the very first time. And he had to admit that this Dracula guy was not even half as frightening as he'd heard he would be. That might be though because there was not a lot that could frighten the Dark One at all.
"So tell me, Dark One, what part of your game are we playing?"
"Oh, you think we're playing my game!", he said in a sudden high-pitched tone, whereupon another table was starting to clear their seats. A giggle was following his words before he went on more quietly again. "Actually... I've come to play yours. You are the one trying to seek me out, right? So, as you can see... here I am." A toothy grin appreared on his lips as well, showing off that he made no secret of his joy about confusing the count with his appearance of his own free will. After all, they were playing his game. It always was his game.

"Actually... I've come to play yours. You are the one trying to seek me out, right? So, as you can see... here I am."
"Here you are indeed," Dracula nodded in agreement with this revelation. His tone spoke of amazement though his composure showed no surprised reaction at all. One by one, each pointed claw tip lightly tapped the wooden top of the table as Dracula stared across at the sickly colored creature, still hooded as if in disguise, "I'm a man of simplicity, there are no mind games here...but I'll admit, I do like to have a bit of fun. Especially with my food, naughty of me, I know. It's not polite to play with your food at the table," Dracula smirked in amusement as he tilted his head slightly, "But I can't help but to wonder what the life fluid of the Dark One would taste like...what kind of truths I would learn that lie within your blood. I've always approved of inherited power, but I'm dying to know what possesses a mortal man to give up everything he has for immortality." Dracula taunted playfully, yet with a curious intent as opposed to a threatening one, "A desire for a claim to fame? Or was it because you hated yourself almost as much as everyone hated you?"

The expression on Rumple's facial features all throughout the count's speech, and he was talking quite a lot, were changing almost as fast as the tables next to them were clearing up. There was no doubt that this man loved to hear himself speaking. And there wouldn't even have been anything wrong about it, if not, towards the ending, the spoken words were not so much to the Dark One's liking.
But even though it irked him whenever someone dared to say anything about his past, - a past they wouldn't understand - Rumplestiltskin forced himself back to smiling after the count had finished his little monologue of complacency. "Too bad that we won't find out, isn't it?" He showed off a mischievous grin before he continued by changing the topic of conversation to something more to his liking.
"So, how's your pet doing?" Another grin spread over his features while his fingers were playing with the flame of the candle on top of their table.

"So, how's your pet doing?"
"Darkest One, are you referring to 'Gerhardt'?" The count was tickled with amusement as his tone came off as rather flabbergasted, however not surprised that this crocodile had been watching his every move for quite some time now. Somehow, this imp must have known that Dracula had made it his mission to hunt him down. Nonetheless, Dracula always had his reasons and he had more than one for tracking down this Dark One. Though, he was rather intrigued of what exactly was being brought up into the spotlight of their encounter, "If so, then you must know he is much more to me than a pet, but a loyal servant who has served me and my needs very well. Though, it would have been nice for him to have come with the other monster I had my sights on. You know the one. You stole her away from me, after all," Dracula tiled his head rather ominously and tisked slightly in Rumple's direction. To this day, he hadn't forgotten that night and he knew that the imp hadn't forgotten it either.

"Darkest One," "Dark One.", he muttered quietly. This can't be too difficult. "are you referring to 'Gerhardt'?"
Oh, how he loathed this creature. He seemed to be even more a narcissistic egomaniac than Rumplestiltskin had heard of. But the devilish grin remained on the imp's features without reacting to his question. This man would continue speaking at some point anyway.
"If so, then you must know he is much more to me than a pet, but a loyal servant who has served me and my needs very well. Though, it would have been nice for him to have come with the other monster I had my sights on. You know the one. You stole her away from me, after all,"
Blah blah blah. Oh, wait! There was suddenly something interesting in this blah-blah. The grin on Rumple's face widened. "Are you referring to... Dr. Jekyll, also known as... Miss Hyde? If so," he purposefully was using the same wording as the count before, "I had no idea she was still of interest to you. I just assumed barbecued food was never part of your menu."

"I had no idea she was still of interest to you. I just assumed barbecued food was never part of your menu."
"Are you...undermining me, Rumpletstiltskin? You are, aren't you?" Dracula replied in a way where he appeared to be tickled with humor as opposed to being angry. He was not an irrational being, of course, as he found it rather peculiar that this Dark One acted as if he knew the Lord of monsters. Rumplestilksin had simply no idea who he was dealing with. "Well then, let me...enlighten you slightly," Dracula spoke as if he had to spell out the situation for the imp and began to go off on a tangent about his favorite subject - himself, "Like humans, my monsters are a very valuable resource...just in a different way, of course," Dracula corrected the Dark One, "Which brings me to the question - what does Rumpletstiltskin have use for a being like Hyde? Where's my monster, Dark One?" Dracula tipped his darkened gaze forward as he lay his inquiry on the table, not shedding a single care of which lines he overstepped.

The devilish grin vanished from the Dark One's lips bit by bit, while his features were yet again half disappearing back into the shadow under his hood. He was growing with annoyance, as the count went on talking. Oh hell, how he'd love to rip the bloodsucker's heart out of his puffed-up chest right here right now. Well, but that would bring him a house ban... probably. The grin reappeared for the while this daydream of the count's heart in his hands was lasting. But then Dracula went on.
"Like humans, my monsters are a very valuable resource...just in a different way, of course," Rumplestiltskin gave him a look like asking Is that so?, of course pretty much bored looking at the same time. "Which brings me to the question - what does Rumplestiltskin have use for a being like Hyde? Where's my monster, Dark One?" At least, this time he hadn't entitled him wrong...
Rumplestiltskin leaned forward again, his features coming back into the faint light of the candle on the table between them. "Wouldn't you like to know, dearie?", he said with the grin around his lips regrowing. "What's it worth to you to find out?"

"Wouldn't you like to know, dearie?" "What's it worth to you to find out?"
Dracula jerked his head to the side lightly as he half shrugged his shoulders. His darkened eyes that had been fixated on the imp moved to his now empty glass as he picked it up and twirled it around in the palm of his hands, as if he was examining it's glass features in the candle lit tavern. It was only a few mere words, however it gave Dracula enough evidence to believe that the Dark One had not been keeping a track record on Etta and the deal they had made. Let alone who she had been mingling with these past several months. A fast one was about to be pulled on the master of tricks tonight, and Dracula could barely contain himself as he sported an uncontrollable self-satisfied grin.
"Not much, really, just a little...validation," At the last word he uttered, Dracula's tone fell on a serious note as the glass froze in his hand between them. Both eyes darted back onto Rumple to bring his reaction into view before his features molded into something of astonishment, "It's amazes me how things that were meant to be in this life can come into full circle, especially in ways we'd least expect," His mouth fell open in a righteous, toothy grin as he placed the glass onto the tray of a bar maiden passing by to collect for a refill. Leaning back into his chair he pointed his sly gaze nonchalantly over the Dark One's shoulder into a dark corner across the tavern where a companion of his resided with the key to her freedom, "This is part of the story coming into full circle, Dark One. Tonight."

Etta had come in through the back entrance, apologizing to the woman who tried to tell her she wasn't allowed in the kitchens. She slipped up the maid's stairwell that led to the rooms amongst more protests that died on the older woman's lips as she threw her arms up in surrender, assuming it was another young person sneaking in for a secret tryst. Etta waited until Dracula had the Dark One well distracted before descending the stairs behind the Dark One and settling into the corner table that lay in the shadow of the stairway wall.
Back resting against the wall and legs up on the chair beside her, she was patiently biding her time, doing her best to relax. She felt confident, having Dracula on her side, but still, it was the Dark One he was facing off against. The Dark One, who knew how to quickly coax Hyde to the forefront. A slight adrenaline rush over this tense situation coursed through her. Her heart would be racing, had it been in its proper place rather than locked in the little ornate chest she kept close to her.
Etta placed the small cube and the ornate chest on the table close to her and took out her dagger, the casual way she played with it dissuading any of the men who'd glanced at her or the two items from taking any further action.
Dracula gave her the sign that she was on by glancing her way. She felt a moment's panic when the Dark One started to turn but with a quick flick of her eyes to Dracula, she drew strength by reminding herself he was powerful and on her side. When the Dark One's black eyes fell on her and the items, Etta casually used the point of her dagger to pull Pandora's Box back, leaving the ornate chest in the forefront. A clear message that if he wanted the precious item that had taken her strenuous months of work to acquire and the unnecessary loss of lives when he'd dropped Hyde onto that ship full of men--something she'd never let go of--he'd first have to unlock the chest and return her heart to its rightful place.

The Dark One's grin vanished yet again once he realized Dracula's was reappearing - and not only that, this time it seemed like it would be taking all control over his disgusting face. One could almost think that he knew something Rumple didn't. Wait... no, certainly not. And yet, the upcoming uneasiness on Rumplestiltskin's features was no longer concealable at this point.
"Not much, really, just a little...validation,"
An indefinable tone left his throat, the anger clearly audible within, although he was still trying to hide it. Without reacting to the count's words, Rumplestiltskin's eyes were following each of Dracula's directions of view. Oh, if there was something he hated even more than getting tricked, it was not to know if he was. Or maybe it was just this guy in general. Yup, this guy might be what he hated the most.
"It's amazes me how things that were meant to be in this life can come into full circle, especially in ways we'd least expect,"
Then suddenly, the grin came back to his features after all, even if it was only to not show any weakness, while the count leaned back in his chair like someone who was about to enjoy a show. And as his gaze pointed over Rumplestiltskin's shoulder into a dark corner across the tavern, the imp started slowly turning, his own grin dying down completely once it was out of the count's view. He had a guess... and that better not be right.
"This is part of the story coming into full circle, Dark One. Tonight."
Never mind how dark the corner was where she was sitting, obviously having waited for a sign of her new friend, Rumplestiltskin knew exactly that it was her. Instead of acting like someone who just got tricked though, a sudden joyful giggle escaped his lips. Wasn't this irony? She surely had no idea which side it was better or wiser to be at. Both were not exactly the bright sides of a rainbow, but Dracula was going to own her while Rumple was just using his ability to have a little bit of control over her to make her do a job. What would her heart in a box be of use to him after her having accomplished it? Now the whole thing looked a little different, of course.
"Back already, dearie?" he asked with amusement, loud enough so that she could hear him but quiet enough to not drown the voices around. Tricked or not, he was still sure that he'd be able to turn the tables back at some point anyway. Nobody was playing tricks on him and then getting away scot-free.

"Back already, dearie?"
"As much as I'd love to let old friends catch up over tea and biscuits, I'm afraid we will be short company tonight," Dracula spoke as if he was letting the Dark One down with the facts of life. Time for beating around the bush and playing games was over. The sooner Etta could seal the deal she made with Rumple, the faster they would be on their way. Though, Dracula would be lying if he said he wasn't relishing in the moments he got to share with The Dark One. Getting a feel for the dark imp's mannerisms, wit - motives even was a gain in the direction Dracula would take his life one day. His time wasn't in this moment, but it would surely come. For now, he needed his monster and her beating heart back in once piece before they could depart. "My dear friend held up her end of the bargain, I'm here tonight to ensure that you hold yours." Dracula uttered to Rumple presumptuously. His gaze tilted in Etta's direction once more, and with an alluring grin he brought a single finger up in front of him to slowly motion her forward.

"Back already, dearie?"
Already? The bloody task had been time consuming and difficult with many challenges along the way. It was no surprise he'd passed the task along to someone else rather than tackling it himself. Etta merely gave him an unfriendly smirk.
She continued watching from her place and although she couldn't hear their exchange, she could feel the tension. Dracula set his gaze on her once more but this time, it held that intense, magnetic pull that had a way of fully capturing one's senses. She sheathed her dagger and with a simple crook of his finger, Etta found herself automatically standing. Though she'd been ready and waiting to comply for his signal to approach, she had the odd, hint of sensation that she might not entirely be acting within her own control. She didn't fully realize it. Or didn't seem to care. Or perhaps it was both.
Picking up the chest and Pandora's box, she walked over, though her legs feeling as if they were moving of their own accord almost gave the sensation of floated over. Despite the fact she was in agreement with Dracula, she did not sit beside him. Rather, she chose to be on her own side by settling onto the bench perpendicular to the two men facing off. The two items, however, were placed to her side nearest Dracula and furthest away from the Dark One. She did not want his scaly fingers to get hold of either then disappear.
With another show of being on her own side, Etta took a little detour off the agreed upon simple and efficient plan to ease her mind. One arm protectively resting on top of the chest with her heart, she picked up Pandora's box and turned it in her hand, acting as if she was studying it for the first time when in truth, she'd already thoroughly studied it on their voyage back, trying to figure out its use and what the Dark One might want with it. But to no avail. She spoke aloud the little she'd been able to discover about it. "Alpha and Omega," she said, eying the two symbols on the side of the box. "Together like this, it means 'The beginning and the end'." A simple, yet very disconcerting phrase, especially on an object that hadn't been easy to obtain. Etta looked up from the box to the Dark One, still keeping it far enough from his grasp. She desperately wanted her heart back where it belonged and to have her deal with the Dark One completed, but she wanted to be sure fulfilling her own wants wouldn't be at the expense of many others. "What does this thing do?"

"As much as I'd love to let old friends catch up over tea and biscuits, I'm afraid we will be short company tonight,""My dear friend held up her end of the bargain, I'm here tonight to ensure that you hold yours."
So, that did it. Rumple couldn't help any longer but roll his eyes, after all. This person shall not dare to tell him how to allot his time or anything, for that matter. For a moment, Rumple's head had turned half back into the count's direction, yet he quickly checked himself, first of all, to not grant his opponent any kind of satisfaction. So, after only a short glare of death, the Dark One's attention turned back towards Henrietta instead. His joy, however, immediately came back once he saw the item of his interest in her hand.
"Alpha and Omega,""Together like this, it means 'The beginning and the end'."
"Yah yah, I know exactly what that means, but thanks anyway.", Rumplestiltskin put her off with sarcasm.
"What does this thing do?"
At that question, he suddenly let out a shrill giggle. "Dearie... do you really think I'd share any more information with you after you've tried to betray me?" Maybe not betraying in the actual meaning, but hadn't she put the bloodsucker onto him without that having been part of what he wanted her to do? That was close enough to trickery. Let's say he was familiar with that.
Also, how naive she must be, Rumple thought with a sudden devilish smirk. He wondered if she even had an idea who this man, or rather creature, really was, and what he'd do with her once she was fully in his control. Surely not. Well, not his business anymore, wasn't it? The only cause that could prompt him to make this his business was to thwart Dracula's plans. Why not actually? That guy had pissed him off enough to make it worth the effort. Wasn't spitefulness something wonderful? Ever since Henrietta had come back with pandora's box, Rumple had no more use of her, and actually would have just given her her heart back, by only a snap of his fingers, at that. But now - she had pissed him off as well.
"What If I told you that I'd given you your precious little heart back," the last words he spoke out in a way that turned them into complete ridicule. "without you bringing a... bodyguard... here?" And yet again, a giggle left his lips, this time much darker. Hopefully, she was regretting her choices already now. "Let me tell you something. I'm not a breaker of deals, dearie, but I demand the same of the person that has a deal with me."

"What If I told you that I'd given you your precious little heart back,""without you bringing a... bodyguard... here?" "Let me tell you something. I'm not a breaker of deals, dearie, but I demand the same of the person that has a deal with me."
This was completely ridiculous. Dracula figured that the imp had dealt thousands of deals and trades in his time enough to be an expert. Although Dracula couldn't confirm or deny whether he possessed the same level of expertise, he knew very well what this looked like. A coward going back on his promised word. Dracula could practically smell the tricks the Dark One was conjuring up within his conniving mind. Only one drop of blood from this crocodile would be enough to reveal it all to the Count, yet this was not the time or the place. He would have to take the long way around.
"If I may," Dracula interjected himself right in the middle of the negotiation process as he lifted a single finger in question. Politeness was considered out of the goodness of being a gentleman, though Dracula was sharp to realize that they were now past that and he was simply going to say what he wanted without permission, "I'm just a little concerned for our friend across the table here, Captain, as he has seemed to have forgotten the definition of the word deal. Are you alright? You do happen to look a little...green," Dracula's vast expression of concern exuded an underlying tone of discontent. Of course Etta was strong and quick enough to defend herself, there was no doubt in Dracula's mind about her capabilities. However, Dracula took it upon himself to push the limits of Rumple even further by standing up to his rather patronizing proposal, "What's a deal? Ah, right," Dracula burst into a wide grin as if he had just jogged his own memory of the definition, "A bargain or arrangement between two mutual parties. That's it!" Dracula spoke as if they had just stumbled upon an epiphany as he gleefully looked between Etta and Rumple, "Me being here shouldn't change the already agreed upon terms or conditions. Did you still need that dictionary, Darkest One?"

"Dearie... do you really think I'd share any more information with you after you've tried to betray me?"
"Me betray you?" she scoffed to the creature who'd purposefully made her do the one thing she feared and regretted the most, causing her to take more lives in a handful of minutes than she'd ever imagined in her worst nightmares, just because she'd dared to stand up to him. How could it possible surprise him that she'd bring an ally, especially one who miraculously also possessed the ability of control over the monster within her?
"What If I told you that I'd given you your precious little heart back," "without you bringing a... bodyguard... here?"
"I don't believe you," she said flatly. With everything from their past interactions, she honestly didn't. But then he let out that giggle and she wondered if maybe he had meant it.
"Let me tell you something. I'm not a breaker of deals, dearie, but I demand the same of the person that has a deal with me."
That rose Etta's hackles. The notion of needing to tiptoe around the Dark One was gone with having Dracula on her side. An inhuman growl sounded from deep within her as she slammed her hands on the table, her eyes flashing the hint of the monster below the surface. She was too focused on her anger to notice the last couple of men who'd bravely--or stupidly--remained nearby to ogle her looking startled as they picked up their drinks and made haste to one of the furthest tables along with the rest of the crowd. "You never finalized the terms! Every time I broached the subject, you would change it! How was I to know when, or even if, my end of the bargain--"
"If I may,"
Dracula's calm voice and demeanor immediately dispelled her anger. Etta calmed, easily looking away from the Dark One to give her attention to Dracula.
"I'm just a little concerned for our friend across the table here, Captain, as he has seemed to have forgotten the definition of the word deal. Are you alright? You do happen to look a little...green,"
Etta had been thankful that he'd interrupted her and pulled her from her anger. It was the wrong way to go about things and opened the door to far more regrettable actions. Perhaps his way wasn't the best either, another way of provoking the Dark One, but she couldn't help the satisfied smirk that overcame her features as she turned to look at the Dark One when Dracula addressed him. She wasn't sure what possessed her to do it. It would probably have been wiser to be the bigger person rather than contributing to provoking the Dark One, but she couldn't seem to help it.
"What's a deal? Ah, right," "A bargain or arrangement between two mutual parties. That's it!" "Me being here shouldn't change the already agreed upon terms or conditions. Did you still need that dictionary, Darkest One?"
With Dracula's attention now back on the Dark One once again, Etta found herself thinking clearer. This pissing contest was becoming tiresome and it was obvious they were the center of attention. The eerie silence of a fairly well crowded tavern had been reduced to quiet murmurs as patrons watched from the corner of their eye while pretending as if the three intimidating creatures weren't there. "Perhaps we should handle the final details in a more private setting," she interjected. As she stood, Etta slid Pandora's Box to Dracula but she entrusted her heart to neither. Hugging the chest close, she felt the rest of her anger dissipate and she was starting to feel more herself again. "I'll be outside."
Without waiting for a response, she headed outside.

Rumplestiltskin watched her with joy as she allowed her anger to rise. Shouldn't she, at some point, have learned to keep her temper? It was quite amusing to him to sense the beast growling from inside. If it wasn't, he might have felt a little bit hurt by her accusations and ingratitude after all what he'd done for her. It had been him, after all, who trained her to control Hyde. At least to a level much more efficient than at the beginning of their journey. Why was everyone just so blind to see what they got out of a deal with him, instead of the flipsides only?
"You never finalized the terms! Every time I broached the subject, you would change it! How was I to know when, or even if, my end of the bargain--"
"Oh dearie, I never..." he was just going to twist the facts any way they would work to his advantage when suddenly the uninvited guest was adding his two coppers.
"If I may,"
"You may not."
"I'm just..."
"But I knew you'd go on never mind what I say..." Rumple added whispering, or more precisely, grumbling as now he had to listen to another discourse.
"... a little concerned for our friend across the table here, Captain, as he has seemed to have forgotten the definition of the word deal. Are you alright? You do happen to look a little...green,"
Oh, really funny, he thought with clenched teeth, yet didn't say a word this time. The discourse would follow soon enough.
"What's a deal? Ah, right,"
Was he going to give him a lecture about how to make a deal? Like seriously?!
"A bargain or arrangement between two mutual parties."
He was.
"That's it!"
Oh yes, that's it - in the figurative sense.
"Me being here shouldn't change the already agreed upon terms or conditions. Did you still need that dictionary, Darkest One?"
"So, this is..." He was ready to kill him. He truly was. This guy just had to die. Dracula really could be lucky that suddenly Henrietta interjected before he put this plan into action.
"Perhaps we should handle the final details in a more private setting,"
The Dark One turned his gaze away from the count and instead towards Henrietta. That would help him to not go for his throat right here. When she slid Pandora's Box to Dracula, his eyes, however, left from her sight over to the box until she seemed to decide that none of them was to trust. Well, a wise decision from her point of view, that he'd got to hand to her.
"I'll be outside."
Anyways, her interjection had given him enough time to calm himself. After the crocodile and the leech had watched her leaving to outside, Rumplestiltskin turned to Dracula once more. This time there even lay a grin on his face. "She has no idea who you are, does she?"

"Perhaps we should handle the final details in a more private setting,"
Dracula usually wasn't one to usually follow the lead. However, with what lay at stake, this was entirely Etta's call. Dracula would follow his Captain to the ends of the Earth to ensure her safety, as long as it meant he got to keep his monster. He had ensured her control of the beast within up until this point. Where would she be now without him, otherwise? Dracula's attention snapped to the box that slid near him. He clutched onto it with his claws, "As you wish," Dracula grinned and nodded as Etta began to turn away from the Vampire and the Imp, holding the chest close to her. It was her call, after all.
"I'll be outside."
Dracula's beady eyes followed Etta through the Tavern until she disappeared through the exit. A marvelous thing, she truly was. He was rather anxious to add her to his collection, and continued to hope that his holding of Gerhardt over her head enticed her even more to come back home to The Land Without Colour. The place where they truly belonged in monstrous harmony until he eventually would slay the crocodile before them and become one with Darkness himself.
"She has no idea who you are, does she?"
"Oh, she has her theories, I'm sure. Our Henrietta has her footing one step ahead," Dracula rose above Rumplestiltskin as he brought himself to his feet at the table. One claw holding onto the box and the other on the collar of his suit jacket, he adjusted his attire before tipping his mischievous gaze down at the imp once more, "Little does she know that I'm three steps ahead of her," Dracula shed a grin deadly enough to slay the entire room before walking past Rumplestiltskin and after the Captain with the pulsating chest.

Etta had found her way to the small barn beside the tavern that housed the guests' horses. Hardly occupied by people unless a guest was arriving or leaving, it provided the best privacy outside of having rented a room, which they hadn't exactly had the opportunity to even look into, having arrived only a short time ago and jumping right into the plan in order to keep the element of surprise on their side.
The small barn was much preferable to the thought of being locked in a small tavern guest room. The sheer size of the two men's personalities and egos had left her feeling claustrophobic even in the open space of the tavern's dining area.
The few horses currently housed in the barn had curiously popped their heads over their stable doors to watch the pacing woman, shifting and tossing their heads as they sensed her unease. Etta hardly noticed them, too wound up in waiting and wondering and worrying as she hugged the chest tightly.
What were they talking about? How long would she be waiting? The Dark One clearly did not like Dracula. He was... bothered by him. That started to work up a worry in her. Had she made yet another error in deal making? Was she making a mistake, putting her trust in Dracula? Should she continue to wait and trust that this deal was the best course of action to take, the responsible and right thing to do to keep the monster within her from harming others? Or should she steal a horse and high off into the night, following what she assumed her disconnected heart might truly want, giving up any notion of having it put back into place? Never again knowing what it was she truly desired and never again having the full experience of life, to know real joy and real sorrow once again, real love, real pain. To find Killian and ask him to sacrifice his ship and his love of the sea to live the rest of his days in hiding with a woman who would forever be incomplete?
No, whatever her decision, she would leave Killian out of it. He deserved a woman who could love him with all of her being, heart, mind, and soul. The latter two combined were nothing compared to what the heart offered and even after she got it back, he still deserved a better life than one in hiding, and she'd be left hiding from more than the fear of anything setting off Hyde if she broke her end of this new deal.
The decision to stay or go was not one that could be made in the short time she was allotted on her own. Especially not with only her mind able to offer its opinions based on logic and constructive thinking. Rash decisions and acting on impulse came from the heart and so, with it unable to give its opinions based on emotions and desires, Etta remained waiting and pacing.

"Oh, she has her theories, I'm sure. Our Henrietta has her footing one step ahead,"
But not as far ahead as people like them, Rumple added only in mind. He was sure that, for once, that would be something they were in agreement about. Maybe that was the reason why he didn't say it out loud until Dracula suddenly did. Jerk.
"Little does she know that I'm three steps ahead of her,"
Disgust was flashing over his features as he watched the count carrying his treasure - without even knowing what was inside but only enjoying to hold onto something that was obviously of importance for Rumple - and following Henrietta to outside. With a heavy clash of his hand, he left some strings of gold back on their table before he did the same. The count had not even paid for himself. Jerk.

Dracula strolled ahead of the Imp as he lead them outside. His gaze scanned over the many unfolding scenes that took place outside of the Tavern. Friends bellowing and staggering over one another, a couple of dogs running amuck over a bare bone in a muddied puddle and a drunken fool passed out on a pile of hay that had been meant for the horses that took shelter inside the small barn. Not a Henrietta in sight. The only place she could have possibly disappeared to was the barn that stood before them. Without further ado, Dracula hightailed it to the doors of the barn. He didn't bother giving Rumpletstiltskin any direction, he figured he would just follow suit. He was the Dark One, after all, wasn't he?
"Ah, there you are," Dracula found Henrietta pacing anxiously between the horse stalls, her arms crossed across her chest in a braceful manner. He had spoken in such a way that made him sound as if he had been worried about her whereabouts, yet he knew that she wouldn't have gone off too far. If she decided to run off now, not only did she have no where or anyone to go to but he knew that he had nearly convinced her that she simply could not live without his help to tame her 'beast' within. Yet, in all his years of roaming the Land Without Color and now this world of the Enchanted Forest, this 'beast' Dracula and Henrietta referred to happened to be one of the most loyal followers Dracula had ever come across. Of course, he didn't mind having Henrietta around as she was fine company and a good Captain. Yet, Hyde was one of the first followers that truly looked to him as a protector and Lord rather than a captor. But he felt an inkling of doubt beginning to sprout within Henrietta. If Rumpletstiltskin would dare to add fertilizer to that sprout and take both Henrietta and Hyde away from him again...he would not let that happen. Not this time.
Dracula came inches away from Henrietta as he brought forward the box that he had tucked away under his darkened cloak upon transportation, placing it gently into the Captain's hands, "There we are. Back into the hands of it's rightful owner." Dracula looked from the box back up to Henrietta. He grinned confidently, as to encourage her along in silence. He knew she could stand her own, Henrietta had already won. All they needed to do now was to get rid of the Dark one.
"I suppose we should get to business then, shall we?" Dracula side glanced at Rumpletstiltskin, bearing a smug grin on his face before taking a step back to allow the two to complete their business.

Dracula's voice sounded from the door signaling the end to any notions she may have had of changing her fate. It had merely been a passing fancy to pass the time whilst she awaited the two men she'd made deals with.
He came within mere inches of her, something he did often. She thought it a personal quirk at first. Everyone had different ideas on personal space, some people and cultures not even holding any notion of boundaries as it was natural to be just as physically close to someone as you felt on an emotional level. It was just a sign that he held her in the highest regard, wasn't it? It gave her a sense of being enveloped by him. A sort of safe feeling as if he were conveying complete protection over her. Then there were the few fleeting times where it had given her the complete opposite affect; the sensation of being surrounded by him. Trapped with no escape as if conveying complete ownership over her. Whether it was enveloped or those few fleeing moments of feeling surrounded that she'd felt, that dark part inside of her always yearned for him to come closer still.
"There we are. Back into the hands of it's rightful owner."
Whilst she distractedly tried to figure which instinctual feeling was the correct one, he'd brought forward the little box once again and placed it in her free hand. Once again, she was holding the two most important items; her heart and the key to her freedom from the Dark One.
The confidence in which he encouraged her had her considering his closeness as enveloping in this moment. He had her back. He was at once her armor and her army, keeping vigilant watch and ready to protect and defend.
"I suppose we should get to business then, shall we?"
Still untrusting of the Dark One, Etta made the decision to place Pandora's Box on the hay bale behind her and near Dracula, in a way, keeping it as ransom in order to assure he would fulfill his part of the bargain.
Standing before the creature, her expression hardened with the reminder of how many lives he'd made her take as petty revenge for daring to stand up to him that first time. Had she known then the steep price the saving of her own life would end up costing, she'd have turned him down and let the villagers burn her at the pyre. But what happened had happened. There was no undoing it, no going back. Only moving forward.
Resolute and ready to complete her deal with the Dark One, Etta did her best to swallow her anger and be diplomatic. "Let us peacefully close out our deal." She held up the little chest that beat with life. "You return my heart to its rightful place, Pandora's Box is yours. Dracula and I will return to our own land and you and I need never set eyes upon each other again."

Without saying any word, the Dark One followed Dracula's steps towards a barn only meters ahead of them. He didn't like to be guided by this creature, so instead, he saw himself being guided by the chest in his hand - his treasure. All the way, that was the thing Rumplestiltskin's eyes were glued at, until they finally reached the doors, seeing Henrietta inside. "Ah, there you are," When Dracula was passing the box back to her, he grunted inwardly. "There we are. Back into the hands of its rightful owner." And at that, the Dark One couldn't help but utter a quiet echo of the last two words in ridicule. They still had a deal, no matter what Mister-I-barge-into-others-businesses said. As if Rumplestiltskin would care what he said anyway. Making deals was his thing. "I suppose we should get to business then, shall we?""Yah, just step back, dearie. We never needed your help anyway.", Rumple chimed in with an eye roll and a waving of both his hands before Henrietta placed herself right in front of him, taking the offered basis without bearing any more distractions from her combative contractual partners. "Let us peacefully close out our deal.", she eventually said, holding up the chest with her beating heart in it.
For a moment, Rumplestiltskin's eyes were focused on that. He could almost hear its pounding through the wall of it. How foolish people were to hold tight on something that always would be in their way of success. On the other hand, without foolish people, he'd be jobless, wouldn't he? A gleeful glare appeared back on his features as he looked back at Henrietta.
"You return my heart to its rightful place, Pandora's Box is yours. Dracula and I will return to our own land and you and I need never set eyes upon each other again." "Of course I'll do.", he said loud and clear, like it was something that never had been at issue and that he almost took amiss on her to have ever questioned. Well, it hadn't been for him. It was Henrietta who had made it an issue by bringing the Unwelcome One in. "Just allow me to give you something to take along on your way home." He purposefully had spoken out the word home as if in quotation marks to make her wonder if arriving there with her new friend would still qualify it as a home. With one step closer into her direction, Rumplestiltskin continued more quietly: "Just a small riddle. A human sets up a mousetrap somewhere in the house, still giving the mouse a chance to make it out alive by making its own choices. Then there is another human, placing a hungry cat right in front of the mouse hole, letting it wait there until the mouse eventually would have to come out to not die a starvation death. Who's worse?" He grinned, ignoring the fact that Dracula was able to hear every word, never mind how quiet he was speaking.

Leaning against one of the barn's wooden posts, Dracula's leg crossed in front of the other as the toe of his dark, polished dress shoe perched on the ground like a kick stand. He had allowed Henrietta and the imp some space to seal their deal, yet he stuck close enough in case anything went array. Or in case the crocodile whispered corruption into her ears, which Dracula got the sense of as soon as his ears picked up on the peculiar riddle being uttered. Dracula moved his gaze down to his arms crossed in his coat as he pretended not to be an eavesdropper, though he did not care to be entirely discreet as he let an eyeroll slip. Dracula wasn't afraid of much, but he had been wondering if Rumple would have the guts to attempt to steal Henrietta away from him again. He thought right.
"I would be more offended by the first one, in all honesty," Dracula interjected nonchalantly. He had become quite the culprit that evening of speaking out of terms, though that came with ease to someone who always played by their own rules, "Sure, free will given by both parties," Dracula pushed his shoulder off of the post to bring himself back upright, strolling up towards Henrietta and Rumple who were now both staring at him, " Yet one simply co-existed in the same world as the mouse, leaving it to fend for itself with no resources or means to grow. But the other challenged the mouse and allowed the creature to evolve into the mighty animal it was meant to be to one day slay the beast that lay at it's doorstep," Dracula stopped right before his Captain and the imp she was dealing with, "Though, the human and the cat simply cannot take the credit. The mouse always had been destined for greatness, they simply help it bloom into whom it was meant to become." Dracula finished with a burst of a chuckle before allowing the chuckle to trail off and back into conversation, "Ah, that was fun. Shame we won't be doing this again. Anyways, are you done playing, Darkest One, or shall we return what belongs to my Captain? Starts with an 'H' and ends with 'art'?" Dracula turned to face the imp, a brooding storm beginning to swim in his eyes and send daggers directly into Rumple's.
