"I put aside my own feelings because of a greater threat. I will not help Loki. I won't speak for him, stand up for him, I won't defend him. Handle him however you want. I've already had so much of my time taken away from an extremely important project my father and I have been working on, Captain Rogers. No way in hell will I spend another second of it following the lead of someone who thinks the best course of action against the oncoming war is to stir up an old battle. So if you'll excuse me..."
"An old battle? I'm not talking about the Battle of the Coral Sea here. I'm talking only a few years ago since that man unleashed an entire army over the City of New York and killed innocents on the streets. I'm sure the reason we're all here is extremely important and all but if this ends with Loki walking away a free man, I'm holding you and Flash Gordon personally responsible."
Peter felt like he was going to need some sort of Cliffs Notes to catch up on the extensive and apparently tension-filled history between all these people. As if he didn't get enough drama on his own ship. Point was, the threat that was headed their way was a lot bigger than any of their petty, previous squabbles. And so was getting Gamora and Mantis back safely. He had to believe that Hope's impassioned plea could begin to convince Captain Steve of that.
Taking note of his bestowed nickname, he fell in step alongside the guy named Scott as the group began to make their way out of the hangar. "I'm guessing he meant that as an insult, but Flash Gordon is awesome!" Peter protested. "Now what were you saying about the pool?"

Hope had started to warm to the idea of walking away and returning to working on the Quantum tunnel. Anger toward Loki and what he had done was completely understandable and she was right there with him on that. But blind rage was a hinderance. Rogers had come off as completely unbending, even unwilling to listen or take into consideration what anyone else had to say on a matter set in stone in his mind, giving her the impression that there had been no possibility of making him at least consider there might be a reason to make some hard compromises. Then he fell in step with her, showing signs that he actually had heard her out, and that he was capable of not allowing the rage to blind him. Her thoughts of walking away began to fade as she compromised in turn and heard him out.
Hand on the door handle, Hope looked over at Rogers, a quirk to her lips as she was finally allowing herself to ease up a bit. Captain Rogers made a lot of assumptions, one of them being that she, like the average person, would forgive and forget but forgiveness did not come easily from Hope and she could hold one hell of a grudge. "There are no grounds for placing that responsibility on me, Rogers," she said back lightly though just as emphatically. In a levelheaded, business-like manner that showed complete emotional detachment when concerning something of this nature, explained why. "I never said anything about him walking away free."
She wasn't sure how Peter would feel about the Loki outcome so she did not speak on his behalf regarding being held responsible. He'd stood up for Loki a bit back there, but she should probably fill him in as soon as possible in order to avoid him feeling regretful in how far he'd continued to defend him before knowing the facts.
Hope pulled the door open and stepped aside to allow everyone through first. She caught sight of Peter palling it up with Scott but her light, professional demeanor did not falter. 'Traitor,' she thought, but it held no conviction. Peter knew nothing about the history there and Hope's earlier rant on what had happened to land her here had left out specifics, namely who had taken it upon himself to use her family's tech.

"Dude, they're not glowsticks, they're light sabers!" Peter protested. They had taken a break from repairing and deconstructing the Milano to watch Star Wars: A New Hope and while Peter had been just as mystified and amazed by it as when he was a kid, Rocket and Groot had turned out to be a tougher audience. Laughing and mocking the Hollywood version of space travel and imperial battles.
"Look, it's not just the light saber, it's The Force," he proclaimed with great import. "Like, Jedi's can do things with their minds. That little Yoda dude, he could lift a whole X-Wing fighter out of the swamp by just thinking about it super hard."

"Dude, they're not glowsticks, they're light sabers!" "Ha ha, a 'Lightsaber'," Rocket couldn't stop laughing and mocking Peter. He also used his fingers to put that word in quotation marks.
"Look, it's not just the light saber, it's The Force," "Like, Jedi's can do things with their minds. That little Yoda dude, he could lift a whole X-Wing fighter out of the swamp by just thinking about it super hard." "Yah, I got it," he tried to be serious while he still rolled his eyes. "But Quill - you know that it's just crap coming from some guy's brain, don't you?!" "I am Groot." "That's exactly what I mean - thank you, Pal." He turned back to Peter, this time even trying to be serious at least. "Don't get me wrong, Quill, but if Earthlings would be able to use those powers or create things like theese - sry, dude - glowsticks it would be easy to defeat that megalomaniac prick." "I am Groot?" Suddenly Rocket stared at Groot in disbelief. "Are you serious?!" He sighed and turned back to Peter. "Okay, if you ask me it's total Bullshit! But Groot wants to know if you're sure that you don't have that Force-shit inside of your shrimpy body... But let's be honest: The only good thing about your Star Wars is that Groot was watching to something else than his own videogame for some hours."

"Psh, no," Peter scoffed. "That was a movie, it's not real." As if a genetically-engineered raccoon was in a position to tell him what was fictional and what wasn't. "But in that brief moment of time when my father shared his planet-building power with me, it was like I could create anything that I could picture in my mind," he said wistfully, flipping a wrench in his hand before using it to unloosen a cable. "I'm talkin' Castle Skeletor with a moat of chocolate sauce, and Heather Locklear riding a Pegasus .... before Daddy Dearest went all psycho and then I had to save you guys."
Okay, so maybe that wasn't a completely accurate depiction of the events concerning Ego, but the appearance of Gamora's sadistic sister and a squadron of the Sovereign pissed off about their stolen Anulax batteries didn't exactly help matters. "Anyway, it seems like these 'Avengers' are Earth's version of us, only less cool," Peter proclaimed. "So we need to figure out a way to work with them. Like Luke, Han, and Chewie takin' out the Death Star."
Since the life support systems weren't needed right now, Peter had been dismantling fuel cells from the air filtration system and tossing them to Rocket. He knew it was unlikely he would get them back in one piece, but he was sure there would be something around this Stark compound to replace it.

"Psh, no," "That was a movie, it's not real." Rocket nodded and gave Groot a triumphant look. "Hear that?!" Groot answered with a disappointed sigh. "But in that brief moment of time when my father shared his planet-building power with me, it was like I could create anything that I could picture in my mind," "I'm talkin' Castle Skeletor with a moat of chocolate sauce, and Heather Locklear riding a Pegasus .... before Daddy Dearest went all psycho and then I had to save you guys." "Save us, yah?!," he turned back to Peter.
"Anyway, it seems like these 'Avengers' are Earth's version of us, only less cool," "I am Groot!," Groot confirmed. "So we need to figure out a way to work with them. Like Luke, Han, and Chewie takin' out the Death Star." Rocket caught the fuel cells Peter threw in his direction and place them down on an end table with wheels they had found in the Hangar. He hoped they would find something similar to them here. "Hah, would be a challenge to repair our Baby with your backwoods Earth techniques," he laughed. Most of all it was a joke because he already had seen that some Earthlings had available interesting techniques. There had to be something useful. He stepped closer to Peter and gave him a friendly poke with his wrench. "Good job so far, Luke. Now let me see to that. Maybe you and Chewie," Rocket pointed his wrench at Groot who still sat in front of the TV, "can try to find some tape somewhere?" Using that silly names Peter had used before for his metaphor was Rocket's way to show him that he agreed with him.

"Good job so far, Luke. Now let me see to that. Maybe you and Chewie can try to find some tape somewhere?"
"Ow! Watch it, ewok," Peter teased in return. "And how come you never have tape?" He slid one of the bins out from under his bunk, dug around for the circular adhesive, then rolled it across the floor to Rocket. Shutting the bin and taking a seat, he continued to think out loud. "I thought for sure Earth would have a giant space laser by now. I mean, I've been gone for over twenty years. How hard can it be?"
As Rocket continued with his tinkering and Groot continued with...whatever he was doing, Peter sighed and stared up at the ceiling. Wondering if Gamora and the others had a similar view in their cells. Or maybe they had managed to convince the higher-ups to take them seriously and to heed their advice. "Even if we spring our people from that floating prison, we still gotta' deal with Thanos," he stated. "What do we do, play some game of cosmic keepaway with the stones? Y'know, we're the only people here who've actually been in the same room with an Infinity Stone and not turned to a pile of dust."

"Ow! Watch it, ewok," Well, that one was good. But anyway Rocket just gave a short grunt. "And how come you never have tape?" "It's not a regular method to fix things, ya' know?! Maybe we should get a lot of tape before we finally leave this place."
Bleep Bleep Oh fine, Groot went on playing his stupid video game! Without saying a word - just rolling his eyes - Rocket took the tape Peter had rolled to him. "I thought for sure Earth would have a giant space laser by now. I mean, I've been gone for over twenty years. How hard can it be?" Great! And Quill continued talking all his nonsense to himself. 'What have I done to deserve this?,' he thought and sighed. Bleep Bleep Bing Bing Bing Rocket tried his best to ignore Groot's sounds. But it made it way more difficult to concentrate on his work. A few moments later Quill again opened his mouth. "Even if we spring our people from that floating prison, we still gotta' deal with Thanos," "Yah, I know. But we didn't send them there to fight directly against that big prick, remember?" "What do we do, play some game of cosmic keepaway with the stones? Y'know, we're the only people here who've actually been in the same room with an Infinity Stone and not turned to a pile of dust." Rocket stopped tinkering and stared at Peter. "Hey, did you ever thought about that maybe not all of these stones would cause the same effect? What if you would be able to held some of them in your very own hands? Our Orb was the f@cking Powerstone! It's clear that none of us could hold it alone."
BING BING BING This time it was even louder than the times before. (Probably Groot has finished a new Highscore or something like that.) But this time Rocket got angry. He threw his wrench to the ground and shouted at Groot: "Could you - PLEASE - stop this just for a moment, Groot?! I'm trying to work! The ship would have surely already been fixed if there wouldn't be so much Bling Bling and blah blah around!" Then he turned at Peter: "Or do you think we could stuff Thanos into that shitty video game and leave it to Groot to defeat him with his buttons?"

Peter found himself chuckling at the absurdity of his circumstances -- a talking raccoon yelling at a teenage tree wasn't a normal, everyday occurrence here on Earth. What would his life have been like if the Ravagers hadn't taken him? What if he'd grown up a normal Midwestern kid in Kansas. God, that would be so boring!
"I dunno, run it by G.I. Joe, see what he thinks," he advised. "Too bad the only person who actually knows anything about Infinity Stones is cooling her heels in an underwater cell. You've looked at the schematics, right?" he asked Rocket. "It can't be harder to break out of than the Kiln. I mean, primitive Earth technology and all." Sure, at times the digs at his home planet were annoying, but right now those weaknesses may work in their favor.

"You think it was hard to break out of the Kiln?! I gave you the easiest job, remember?" Remembering their first break out together always was, well, fun. He still had to laugh when he recalled Quill's part - it was sooooo good to see that he had really took the cybernetic leg! "Okay, let's be honest, Quill," he tried to become serious again and stop giggling. "The Kiln wasn't the first - and as we see now not the last - prison I had to break out. Or this time better said to break in to break out... Sounds odd, don't you think?" Meanwhile Groot had started a new game. But suddenly the Bleep-sounds became deeper and deeper and even slower. "I am Groot!" "Hah," Rocket turned to his friend, "now you have to take a break, Groot!" "I am... Groot?" "No, I have no batteries for you. So please stay there and wait until we're finished here." He turned back to Quill. "At least we can escape every f@ckin' prison if we got enough weapons! Maybe our shrinking-bee can minimize some of my babies so that we can take more of them with us... What do you think? We should ask her after we've fixed the Milanoo. Oh, and go to the inside and check out if our thundergod had destroy more than just one lever before... I hope he kept his hands off our precious."

"Uh, I think you mean my precious," Quill corrected. Okay, so maybe this ship was not the original Milano that he'd been flying since he was ten; that one had been rebuilt after its collision with Ronan's ship, and then abandoned after its collision with the ground on Berhert. But this was still his baby, and he was still the better pilot of it.
"Hope was in here earlier doing scans, trying to find everything that was broken. Hey, computer house lady, can you bring up those screens we were looking at before?" Peter inquired of what seemed to be thin air. When the detailed diagrams didn't instantly appear before their eyes, he waited. And waited. And waited some more.
Then he shrugged it off and walked over to lift up a grate that covered one of the electrical junctions. "Guess it only listens to Hope. She's been pretty cool about the whole 'aliens are real' news," Quill remarked. "I guess if you can shrink or enlarge whatever you want whenever you want, everything else kinda' loses its magic."

"Uh, I think you mean my precious," "Yours, mine, ours - not really important, don't you think? I mean, I spent a lot of hours and hours in repairs..." Luckily they didn't argue about that issue any longer. At the end of the day it wouldn't be the most important thing who's the owner of their ship - the important thing was that the Milano will be fixed again and serve its purpose.
"Hope was in here earlier doing scans, trying to find everything that was broken. Hey, computer house lady, can you bring up those screens we were looking at before?" Rocket remembered that Hope spoke out to an A.I. yesterday when they had arrived at the building. It took a moment until... nothing happened. "Hahaha, just admit it, Quill!" Too funny. But Rocket didn't dare to try it on his own. It would be embarrassing when he, of course, also wouldn't manage to handle with the computer. "Guess it only listens to Hope. She's been pretty cool about the whole 'aliens are real' news," "I guess if you can shrink or enlarge whatever you want whenever you want, everything else kinda' loses its magic." "It looks that way. But yah, Hope's cool. I like her. And I like her stuff." "I am Groot?" "I don't know if she got batteries for you, Groot - but don't dare to walk away and ask her. Just stay here with us! Please!" "I am Groot..." Rocket decided to ignore Groot for a moment. Maybe it would be the best. He had to concentrate on the repair of their ship. There was no need of a conversation with a sulkily kid who poked his tongue out at him. "Hey Quill," he shouted instead, "did you thinkHope got any skyrockets somewhere? I'd like to give our baby a small upgrade." Finally he finished his current work - but still a lot other problems left... "Hm, and what about upsizing? Don't you think that would be way more useful than shrinking? Imagine we all would be a lot taller than usual - we could squelch Thanos like a pesky insect..." Suddenly he has to laugh out loud. He wished it was all that easy.

"Eh, output on the port thrusters is too weak as it is," Quill replied, upon checking the fuel lines. "She couldn't leave orbit even at her current size. But," he smirked as a thought occurred to him, "if she zapped you, you and I might finally see eye-to-eye on some things. Eye to freaky enlarged raccoon eye."
He shuddered at the thought of a larger, equally angry Rocket. "Or she could shrink the Infinity Stones and then we hide them somewhere that Thanos could never find them," Quill offered.

"Or she could shrink the Infinity Stones and then we hide them somewhere that Thanos could never find them," "Hah, if the gems would be shrunken I'd shove them up your ass!"
"I Am Groot!" "Yah, I know that this wasn't nice - but you know what: I didn't intend to be nice!" "I am... Groot?" Rocket heaved a deep sigh. "Okay, pal..." Then he turned back to Peter but he prevented to look him directly into his eyes. "Groot asked if you could turn off your radio-thing..." Groot had also said that listen to music would be much better than listen to his and Quill's quarrels. But Rocket didn't translate that for Peter.

"I am... Groot?"
"Okay, pal... Groot asked if you could turn off your radio-thing..."
"Uh, excuse you," Peter scoffed. "My planet, my ship, my tunes. The radio only gets turned off when I say so --"
The music was abruptly pre-empted by the female voice of the building's AI as she interrupted their conversation. "Star-Lord, you have been granted guest access to my interface," she informed him. "How may I assist you?"
"Woah, it's the house computer lady! See, I told you!" Peter grinned at Rocket triumphantly. "Hey, computer lady, can you show me all the things that are wrong with my ship like you did before?"
"Of course, Star-Lord." Screen after screen popped up and hovered in the air before them, showing multiple areas of damage in bright red. It was tough to know where to begin.
"Okay, maybe just show me half the things that are wrong with the ship. Or like, twenty-five percent?" he requested, and the number of screens accordingly diminished. "Oh, and you can just call me Peter. This is Rocket, and that's Groot." He pointed to each of them respectively, as if she could see them.
"You may refer to me as 'Friday.' Miss Van Dyne also requested that everyone meet in the living area as the requested food delivery by Agent Romanoff was successful."
"Sweet! Thanks, Friday, I'm starving." Peter tossed aside the wrench he'd been using to pick up a rag and wipe off his grease-stained hands with it. "Let's go, fellas. Can't save the world on an empty stomach!" he prompted, eager to savor another helping of Earth's fine food. The one thing he had definitely been missing all these years out among the stars.

Suddenly there was this AI's female voice which interrupted them. "Star-Lord, you have been granted guest access to my interface," "How may I assist you?"
"Woah, it's the house computer lady! See, I told you!" "Hey, computer lady, can you show me all the things that are wrong with my ship like you did before?" There were many red areas - too many. Although they had already fixed a lot they still would have plenty work. "Okay, maybe just show me half the things that are wrong with the ship. Or like, twenty-five percent?" Rocket grumbled. "Well, at least you should told her to show us just the most important spots we have to fix so that our baby would be able to liftoff again."
"Oh, and you can just call me Peter. This is Rocket, and that's Groot." "Really, Quill? You're acting like you think the AI would like to press the flesh." Rocket shook his head. Sometimes he wondered if all humans were like Peter. Luckily it seemed like this was not the case.
"You may refer to me as 'Friday.' Miss Van Dyne also requested that everyone meet in the living area as the requested food delivery by Agent Romanoff was successful."

Peter climbed the ladder up to the bridge of the Milano and fell into his chair. "Okay, so I rerouted power from the thrusters to the transmitter," he informed the others. "Should be enough to boost the signal. If not, we'll have to ask the house computer lady for some more juice." He pulled up the screen attached to the armrest and searched for a connection to Xandar, hoping that they weren't too late. But even if they were able to warn the planet, what kind of defense could they put up against Thanos? Especially since Ronan's attack had wiped out almost all of their air defense.
"Xandar, this is Earth calling," Peter spoke into the airwaves. "I repeat, Earth calling Xandar. This is Peter Quill calling with an urgent message for Nova Prime." Nothing but static-y silence. "If Corpsman Dey is around, tell him we're about to do something foolhardy and reckless, and he needs to stop us." He glanced over at Rocket as they waited for someone, anyone, to acknowledge the message.

"Okay, so I rerouted power from the thrusters to the transmitter," "Should be enough to boost the signal. If not, we'll have to ask the house computer lady for some more juice." "Hah, and if she'd say no - we'll lend out some of her juice anyway." "I am Groot!" "Don't have a cow! I wouldn't call it a theft - as I already said: we'll just borrow it... Oh, and don't forget that we also could use it to recharge your game's batteries..."
"Xandar, this is Earth calling," Rocket and Groot stopped talking. They didn't want to disturb Peter's call to Xandaar. "I repeat, Earth calling Xandar. This is Peter Quill calling with an urgent message for Nova Prime." Still no reaction. Rocket became a bit nervous. He didn't want to show it to the others but he was sure they all felt the same. "If Corpsman Dey is around, tell him we're about to do something foolhardy and reckless, and he needs to stop us." When Peter glanced at him Rocket has to laugh. "Hell yeah - that sounds good. NOW they had to react... or..." He didn't complete this sentence. They all knew what it might mean if still no one would answer their call. "Quill,... um, are you sure that you use the right frequency?" It was no serious question but he couldn't stop himself from trying to find reasons why they got no answer so that they won't have to face the possible truth. But, to be honest, it would be within the bounds of possibility that Quill failed calling the Nova Corps. "Or should I try?"

"Quill,... um, are you sure that you use the right frequency? Or should I try?"
"I'm trying all the frequencies, dude," Peter shot back. Apparently Rocket not only thought he was a better pilot than Quill -- totally delusional -- but also a better radio operator. But the annoyance at competition was just a temporary stop on the way to resignation. There was no signal. There was no one to answer. There was no Xandar, not anymore. And even though he'd had issues with the broker that had shafted him on the orb deal and the officials that had tossed him and his crewmates in prison, it was a real gut punch to think none of them existed anymore.
"I think we're too late," Peter said softly, finally looking over at Rocket. "Which means Thanos has another stone and we're running out of time." All of them had seen firsthand the damage that one stone could do when it decimated the Collector's gallery on Knowhere. Now that Thanos was reuniting it with its little infinity stone brothers and sisters, there was no telling what kind of damage he could do.

"I think we're too late," "Which means Thanos has another stone and we're running out of time." "Crap!" "I am Groot!" This was really a bad situation. Rocket didn't have good friends or something like that on Xandar - maybe a lot more people who wanted to put him behind bars - but he felt sad about the whole situation. He turned at Drax, an evil grin on his face: "Hey dude, when we'll finally get ahold of Thanos you've my full permission to vent your spleen!" "I am Groot...?" "Of course, pal - first of all to revenge all the innocent people who were killed by shitface."
Then he sighed. "I don't know about you, but I think there's nothing left to do here at the moment. Let's get back to Bee-Lady and muscleman's annoying little brother."

Drax had only been watching and half-listening from the background until, suddenly, his furry friend addressed him.
"Hey dude, when we'll finally get ahold of Thanos you've my full permission to vent your spleen!"
He looked up in surprise first, but then his features quickly changed into the mentioned spleen he had bottled up inside, all for Thanos. He'd never needed anyone's permission, though. Especially not for that. To Drax, it had been a done deal that, once they meet up with him, he would kill him.
"I am Groot...?"
"Of course, pal - first of all to revenge all the innocent people who were killed by shitface."
"I don't know about you, but I think there's nothing left to do here at the moment. Let's get back to Bee-Lady and muscleman's annoying little brother."
Drax left the field completely to them again. Until it would be his turn to act. Right now, he was, anyway, too absorbed into this spleen, the memories linked to it.

A couple hours later.
Hope and Loki had finalized the breakout plans,
then had rejoined the rest in the hangar.

Friday's assistance with the scan of the ship and maps that pointed to problem areas saved them on a lot of time and trouble of taking everything apart and figuring out where the issues were. Another big time saver were the ants and Hope's use of the Wasp suit.
Whilst Peter and his crew worked on repairs more reachable, Hope and her ants saved them from having to disassemble the engine and piloting consoles to get to deeper issues. They were just about done, having one main issue that the fire ants assigned to that area were having difficulty fixing.
"Left at the next junction," Friday instructed through the speakers and Hope's earpiece.
Hope continued flying forward in the small passages within the piloting console of Peter's chair, between metal, wires, cables and other various parts. It all looked like an intricate maze when shrunken down to the size of an ant.
She turned left and saw the small team of fire ants ahead, struggling with a cable. "I got it from here, guys," she said, sending the mental instruction for the ants to disperse as she approached. Her voice also sounded through the speakers to keep the rest updated on the progress. Talking to the ants wasn't something she used to do. Not until she'd met Scott and had picked up on his habit of treating them like people, or sometimes, pets.
Hope's wings flitted to a stop as her feet came to rest near the cable. Assessing it, she placed the toolbox down and pulled free the bit of wire that the ants had already managed to push back in. The ends of the wires were frayed and needed to be removed. Retrieving the box cutter, Hope knelt down and cut away the bad ends, then shuffled sideways to begin cutting carefully around the insulator to free up undamaged wire.
Tossing the discarded pieces aside, Hope hauled the cable over her shoulder and dragged it back to the terminal. Kneeling once again, she used both hands to press together the wires and twist them to stay together, then guided them back into the port. She then stood and with both hands, twisted the cable grip back into place.
After a moment of assessing, Hope flew back out and returned to her normal size, helmet flipping open and tucking away into the back of her suit as she looked to Peter waiting in his chair. "Give it another try," she instructed.

The Asgardian allowed himself to enjoy quiet and relaxation after he and Hope had worked out the plan. He leaned against the wall and just watched the others while they repaired the ship. Hope started to use her suit and shrinked herself down to help. She also called ants – a lot of ants – to help, too.
Loki had to sneer ironically. He remembered what he onced had told Nick Fury about ants and boots. Now in this case the ants showed that they were not just the meaningless loosers and that they could be very useful.

It still was so freaky to watch how Hope enlisted a bunch of ants' service. But she did it! It was some kind of hilarious and fascinating – that much that even Groot couldn't stop watching instead of just playing another video game or doing something else. And the ants were very useful. They could reach areas Rocket and Quill were not able to work at without removing some parts of the ship.
Finally Hope flew back and appeared in her normal size. "Give it another try," Rocket also turned to Peter. "You hear her, Quill?! Let's see if our baby is alive again!"

While everyone else was being useful, more or less, Drax wasn't at all. He just watched the little ants strangely acting humanly by serving Hope with their helping tootsies to get Peter's ship back to working. At some point, Drax had started counting them but lost track every time they would cross each other's way.

"Give it another try."
"Oh, jeez! Warn a guy next time!" Peter cried when Hope appeared out of thin air beside him on the ship's bridge. True, he had seen her little magic trick several times by now, but there was no getting used to it. It didn't help that Loki kept using his brand of magic to replace the tools Peter was holding with snakes or insects because he said he was 'bored.' Peter was ready to go ahead and place the Asgardian handcuffs on the guy, as well as an Asgardian gag if they had one.
"You hear her, Quill?! Let's see if our baby is alive again!"
Peter nodded in agreement, with an exhale of hesitancy and a silent prayer to some higher power. This ship being in working order was only one part of their plan, but it was a big part. He pulled up the screen that rested on the side of the chair and began powering up the Milano. One step in the sequence after another, so far so good. No warning lights or blaring alarms. Finally, the thrusters came to life and the ship slowly managed to lift off the hangar deck.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have liftoff!" Peter proclaimed, tossing a triumphant smile to the bridge's other occupants.

"Oh, jeez! Warn a guy next time!"
Hope unapologetically grinned. Though not usually intended, scaring the shit out of people was an amusing side effect to the use of the suit. Maybe it was because she'd grown up without any siblings to torment. Then again, Loki had grown up with a sibling and yet, he still delighted in tormenting others and Peter seemed to be getting the lion's share of it. Probably because out of all present, he had the most amusing reaction.
"You hear her, Quill?! Let's see if our baby is alive again!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have liftoff!"
Hope clapped and cheered with relief along with the rest of the crew. "And now, onto Phase Two." Hope grabbed the Asgardian cuffs and walked toward Loki. "I trust you've gotten all the pranks out of your system?" she joked, having caught him tormenting Peter a time or two. Hope hit a button and the cuffs clinked open. She held them up expectantly for Loki to place his wrists into, unable to help looking somewhat pleased at the notion of putting them on him.

It really felt freshening watching Hope to scare Peter. Although it seemd to be unmeant. But who knows? Perhaps she also had a little faible to play tricks to others. And Peter Quill just was the perfect victim! And just as he thought himself being saved from another trick somebody else set about doing the Trickster's work. So there was a big grin on the Asgardians face now.
"And now, onto Phase Two." Until such time as Hope approached to him, holding these cursed cuffs in her hand. "I trust you've gotten all the pranks out of your system?" Then she offered him the open cuffs to put his hands into it. "Maybe... maybe not. You will see, my dear. Where is the fun in that if you think yourself safe?!" Loki still had a grin on his face and also winked at Hope. "But how could I dare to reject such a charming bidding", he said while he finally placed his wrists into the cuffs and let Hope close them. "I see a shiny talent in you. If you would ever have the need of a good advise I will be there and teach you how to behave mischievously", he also added with a hushed and seductive voice.
