Mobile - The Raft - Office (January 2018)

"I think it's time both of us had a conversation with Stark,"
Good. Things didn't change because of Peter Quill's little episode.
Secretary Ross was obviously one of those people who always did their best to be focused on the real important facts.
"The elevators that lead to the cells are just down this hallway. Ladies first, Miss Van Dyne."

The trickster wasn't sure if this was an invitation for all of them or if only Hope was allowed to accompany him.
Peter wasn't as hesitantly as himself. Loki felt him grabbing his arm and forcing him to stood up.
"Steady, Star-Lord," he said. "Are you sure that we are invited to this little reunion, too?"

"Maybe a little less transparency from you, Mister...Quill, did you say? I think it's time both of us had a conversation with Stark."

"Yes, sir, of course,"

"The elevators that lead to the cells are just down this hallway," "Ladies first, Miss Van Dyne."

"Wow,... that's a bit... unexpected," Rocket said with a huge surprised look on his face.
Although Peter nearly screwed it up their plan yet still seemed to work!
And still without the use of any weapon...
It was almost a bit disappointing.
Rocket noticed Drax looking at him confused. "You look sad. Did we... loose?"
"No, dude. It's just... Well, I'm affraid that we are doomed to be just listener this time..."
"Why? Quill said we're their secret weapon!"
Rocket sighed. "Yeah, I know. But - I never thought I'd have to admit something like that - this time it was Quill who'd tricked me."
Now Rocket was nearly sure that the others had convinced them to be shrunken so that they could keep them away from any kinds of weapons until they decided it would be time for some violence.
Suddenly Drax started to laugh.
"What's wrong with you? That's not funny!"
"Ha ha, it is! Quill tricked you this time, ha ha HA! Finally you deserve it, pal."
This time Rocket just sighed again. Maybe a laughing Drax was the better choice than a furious Drax.
(And maybe his friend would become angry if he'd really understood that he was also tricked.)

"Yes, sir, of course,"

Hope gave a cooperative and determined nod toward Ross.  She vacated her perch on the edge of his desk to also get to her feet and waited for him to lead the way before getting into motion, Quill's claims still bouncing around in her head.  Saved the universe?  Surely he was exaggerating.  But it was the dad-planet thing that latched onto her mind, probably because of her own personal daddy issues.


" 'Star-Lord'? Really?"

Hope raised her eyebrows, a quirk of amusement playing at the corner of her mouth as she fell in step beside him.  "That was your takeaway, sir?" she bandied in a dry, incredulous tone that matched his.  Maybe Ross wasn't as bad as people made him out to be.  His business demeanor was much like her own, seeming to take the importance of his job very seriously.  She didn't doubt that her own employees talked about her behind her back, but she had the best intentions in mind for her company and its people.  Hopefully Ross did as well.

Again, Hope silently nodded and cooperatively headed down the hallway to the elevators, hoping the rest of her team followed suit, particularly with the cooperative part.  As she stopped in front of the elevator, Ross on her heels, she turned to face the other two approaching them.  Peter had Loki's arm in his grasp and they looked to be quietly exchanging barbs.  As Ross' attention went to hitting the appropriate button, Hope narrowed her eyes and shot them a warning look.

"Steady, Star-Lord. Are you sure that we are invited to this little reunion, too?"

“Well, A, only my enemies get to call me that,” Peter countered as he escorted Loki down the hallway, following behind Hope and Ross. The armed soldier that had been standing guard, pulled the door to the office closed and then fell in line behind them. “And B, bargaining chips don’t talk. Sorry, you’re not part of the conversation, David Copperfield. Especially after admitting you were Thanos’ little errand boy.”

Satisfied that his comment and the tight grip on his arm would keep Loki in line, Peter joined the others in patiently waiting for the elevator. When Hope shot them both a look, he gave her a self-assured nod and a smile that conveyed he totally had the situation under control.

At the moment the God of Mischief had no alternative than to follow Peter Quill.
Well, maybe he could try to overcome him and the others - but why should he do so?
Their plan worked more or less.
“Well, A, only my enemies get to call me that,”
Loki just looked at him, his face saying something unspoken like 'if you say so...', and went on playing his role.
“And B, bargaining chips don’t talk. Sorry, you’re not part of the conversation, David Copperfield. Especially after admitting you were Thanos’ little errand boy.”
It was obvious that he was proud of his over-confidence.
So the Trickster leaned foward and whispered into Peter's ear: "You have an interesting style of trying to offend people, Peter Quill. But I give you a good advice you should always try to remember: Take care who you call a little errand! Next time there might be no special handcuffs..."
Now he kept silence for some seconds and sent Peter some black looks before he finally gave him a sneer. "Do not worry. I am just kidding, you know?"
