Infirmary Infirmary located in the barracks.
Location found in box C3 below: Each box is 3 miles by 3 miles. It takes an hour to walk 3 miles. But also keep in mind that hiking (like that really steep hill to get to higher ground) will take a heck of a lot longer and that if you're running (like from some jungle thing), that you'll get somewhere faster.

Juliet was reviewing bloodwork in the quiet of the lab. Things had been busy in the village since the plane crash, and everyone seemed to have their assignments. Goodwin, Ethan, and Bennett were living undercover with the survivors while Mikhail was gathering information in his own way. She knew Goodwin could handle himself, but she couldn't shake the feeling that Ben had sent him away on purpose -- to punish her. She still wanted to go home, a flame that burned brighter than ever now that she knew her sister was alive and well back in Miami. It had been both hopeful and heartbreaking to see her and her son, Julian, on that monitor.
But Ben insisted that she stay, that they would find more mothers to continue her research. As fate or whatever would have it, there had been a pregnant girl named Claire that survived the crash. Because she was so far along in her pregnancy, Juliet had suggested that they begin administering injections of the serum to her. Injections that would hopefully prevent Claire's body from rejecting the pregnancy as it had done in all the other women on the island. And judging from Ethan's reports and Claire's bloodwork, things were fine so far. Claire having a healthy, full-term pregnancy was her hope of finally getting home.

Ben had been watching everyone having a focus on their assignments since the plane crash. Investigating, spying or mere attentiveness. That crash could mean an unwelcome change, not one that he wouldn't be able to deal with though, but in addition, did it mean something else. A quiet welcome circumstance, in fact. A satisfied smile flashed over his features while he walked along the square of his village, sending a warm nod to the passing people. His people.
The smile on his face even widened once he reached the building he was heading to. The infirmary. Ben was quite sure that Juliet would be there instead of being home. Not only did he knew she was an early bird, he even knew that she had no reason to spend time elsewhere anyway. Not anymore. The complacency about the fact of a changed situation between her and Goodwin managed to wrestle down the sudden upcoming whiff of displeasure about that pairing in general.
Ben stood in front of the closed door for a moment. He couldn't hear any sound from inside but had no doubt he would find her there, probably pondering over the latest bloodwork from Claire. Yet another circumstance he welcomed. The heavily pregnant was playing well into his hands in his purpose of making Juliet stay forever.
He waited some more seconds before he finally knocked on the door, waiting for her to speak up and invite him in.

A noise at the door tore her attention away from the paperwork for a second but not entirely. It was probably just Amelia bringing her a sandwich since it was getting close to lunchtime. The older woman often seemed to worry about Juliet's well-being, for which she was grateful. But she did have work to do so she would make it quick. "Come in!" she called out in the direction of the door.

"Come in!"
And of course, he had been right about Juliet being inside, already hardworking instead of allowing herself some freetime at home.
"Hi.", Ben greeted as he opened the door and gingerly stepped inside. The smile on his face immediately came back once he saw her sitting at her desk, obviously surprised to see him.
"I thought I would find you here. What are you reading?", Ben added questioning as he stepped closer. His voice was sounding friendly and warm; just like the neighbor's who had come by to invite his fellow inhabitant from the other side of the fence to a barbecue.

"Hi. I thought I would find you here. What are you reading?"
And in walked Ben. She hoped he was simply looking for an update on the plane crash survivors. At any rate, she would remain professional. And brief. "The results of Claire's most recent blood sample," she replied. "Her white blood cell count has been stable. Not dropping like the other women. If my theory is correct and the problem occurs at conception on the island, there's every reason to believe she'll carry the baby to full term. She's already past the second trimester with no adverse symptoms. At least none that Ethan has observed."

Ben listened to her explanation without interrupting. His features remained unreadable, especially with the realization of Juliet showing nothing but professionality towards him.
"... ... At least none that Ethan has observed."
There had been a good reason to send Ethan where he was right now and Goodwin somewhere else; somewhere not around the pregnant woman and with no possibility to make any contact with Juliet's work on the blood samples.
And then Juliet had finished her report. She had actually served him with an update on Claire's pregnancy state regarding her odds of survival like no one else could have given any better, but that hadn't been the reason for Ben's visit. Not really.
"Well, that's good news.", he eventually stated with a smile towards her, and when a sudden silence started to cover them up, Ben added: "You should allow yourself a sense of accomplishment.", which meant you may look less frustrated in a different wording. He had brought her here and had given her so much and all he saw upon her face was still distress. Ben wanted to see that spark of joy back on her face; that spark that had laid on her features when Goodwin was still around. Just did Ben wanted to see it now without Goodwin around of course.

"Well, that's good news....You should allow yourself a sense of accomplishment."
Juliet looked away briefly, a mildly defiant huff escaping her while crossing her arms and leaning forward on the table. "I've been on this island for three years with zero success rate. The people from the plane crash have been here only 10 days. I will feel 'accomplished' when Claire delivers a healthy baby with no complications, and not a moment sooner," she countered.
"Have you heard anything more from Ethan and Bennett? Any progress on their lists?" she asked, getting up to circle around the table and then lean back against it. "Ben, I know that you see Bennett taking on a leadership role in the future, given the trust you put in Tom. But he is a kid. All he's ever known is this island. You put him in the middle of a bunch of outsiders, he might start to think of them as an appealing alternative."

Gripping the straps to the pack on his back, Bennett approached the Infirmary. His main mission was to arrive, drop the samples off, check in with Ben regarding the list and be on his way back to being the eyes and ears for their people among strangers who were viewed as a threat. Planting his feet on the deck of the Infirmary, Bennett let out an exhale. He was exhausted, and not necessarily from the hike back home, but pretending to be someone he was not was beginning to take it's toll. The nightmares kept visiting him night after night in his weary state and the paranoia was eating him alive. Bennett arrived to the Infirmary first in hopes to speak to Juliet before talking to Ben. It would be nice to talk to someone he trusted, someone he knew wouldn't undermine his capabilities. Bennett's hand formed a fist as he knocked lightly on the slightly opened door, but little did he know that Ben was already inside and two steps ahead of Bennett. As usual.

And then it came that her attitude changed from professional to personal. Ben listened to each of her words, again without interrupting, while the corners of his mouth lowered bit by bit, actually the only noticeable reaction on his features. By the end of her complaining, he didn't exactly look displeased but rather surprised. Not that he wouldn't have awaited Juliet to let off some of her obviously accumulated steam, but he admittedly hadn't expected her to do so all too soon.
But now he had got something to say to her as well. And just as Ben was going to open his mouth to do so, a sudden knock on the door made him pause. For another moment he remained motionless before clearly speaking up towards the door. "Come in!", he used the same choice of words like Juliet before, while his eyes still lay upon her, the same unreadable expression in them like all throughout her speech.

And suddenly the topic of their conversation appeared in the doorway. Juliet wondered if he'd heard anything. If so, he didn't show it. "Bennett, hi," she greeted, moving to stand in front of Ben with a warm smile. "We were just talking about you and the excellent work you've been doing. How are you feeling? Any dehydration, lack of sleep....?" Living among the survivors meant living like them, without the easily accessible food and water in their village. She was concerned it might be taking a toll on his physical and mental well-being.

"Come in!"
Bennett paused for a brief moment at the sound of Ben's schrilling voice coming from within the Infirmary. Shit... he was already here. Can't catch a damn break...his heartbeat thudded through his nervous body as he attempted to pull himself together. What was it about this little man that put Bennett on edge? Was it those beady, lifeless eyes that stared right through one's whole being ? Or was it the fact that there was a lot of pressure on the Friendly kid to be a star performer for their leader? Regardless of the undealt with issues that resided within Bennett, he did not know how much longer he could put up with this act. He finally brought his feet through the doorway, finding Ben and Juliet inside.
"Bennett, hi," "We were just talking about you and the excellent work you've been doing. How are you feeling? Any dehydration, lack of sleep....?"
"Juliet," Clearing his throat, Bennett put on his front in front of Ben and grinned at Juliet as if nothing could bother him much, "I could sleep better but other than that, we're managing out on the front lines," Bennett answered before diverting his gaze to Ben with a nod of acknowledgement, "I understand we usually meet at your place, sir, though I was told I could find you here." Making up an excuse to attempt to cover his ass, Bennett began to take the pack of samples off and place it on a nearby examination table, "I believe you've been waiting for these, Juliet ? "

"Bennett, hi,""We were just talking about you and the excellent work you've been doing. How are you feeling? Any dehydration, lack of sleep....?"
His eyes had been laying a little longer on Juliet, finding that she was doing good in regaining control of her accumulated steam. They wouldn't want to argue here about it, or would they? And then finally Ben turned to face the new incomer as well, who was looking past him for the while of talking to Juliet.
"Juliet,""I could sleep better but other than that, we're managing out on the front lines,"
Ben noticed the lines of worry on the boy's face no matter how much he tried to hide, but that was just nothing of importance to him. Everything of importance was to protect the island and that contained everyone to fulfill their part no matter how exhausting things might be. After all, Ben had had to make several sacrifices himself to come this far.
When Bennett lastly turned his gaze to him, Ben's head slightly raised, his beady eyes still watching him with something like an unreadable intense.
"I understand we usually meet at your place, sir, though I was told I could find you here." Sir? Ben found it a little unusual to get called sir by any of his people but didn't show a reaction to that. Then Bennett was addressing Juliet once again, placing a pack of blood samples on the table next to them. "I believe you've been waiting for these, Juliet?"
"Are you completely sure no one has seen you leaving their camp?", Ben suddenly asked emphatically. Bennett and Goodwin's job were of most importance and he had to be sure none of them was bungling it because of potential feelings of faintness like sleeping troubles.

"Are you completely sure no one has seen you leaving their camp?"
"Maybe you should let him rest before you start the interrogation," Juliet interjected, with a cautioning look at Ben. She may be holding herself up to be the good cop at the moment but she was also curious about the young man's answer. "Please, have a seat. You want some lemonade?" She picked up the samples and returned to her desk to place them there. "Bennett knows the jungle better than our new arrivals," she continued, throwing him a reassuring glance. "And it's likely they're too busy surviving or fighting amongst themselves to notice his comings and goings."

Ben was a man of business, and business was what brought Bennett here that day. So Bennett didn't expect any less from him than to cut straight to the chase. Bennett paused for a brief moment before opening his mouth to respond as his mind was still trying to catch up to speed to where they were all at in the situation, but his attempt became interrupted by Juliet's saving grace.
"Maybe you should let him rest before you start the interrogation....Please, have a seat. You want some lemonade?"
Before Bennett could refuse the gesture, his father's lesson from the previous meeting interjected. And with the pressure of making an impression on his higher ups, Bennett looked at Juliet and nodded before she grabbed the samples to store them away.
"Bennett knows the jungle better than our new arrivals," "And it's likely they're too busy surviving or fighting amongst themselves to notice his comings and goings."
As Juliet spoke well of Bennett he peered over to Ben to witness nothing but a rather collective and mutual reaction, gazing at Juliet. That man was hard to read for sure, but it was clear to all that he had taken a liking to the fertility doctor. And as they all look worked under Linus's dictatorship, Bennett knew that Juliet's generous gestures were with intention to help their leader. Though he appreciated her presance as it seemed to mediate the tension and put Bennett slightly at ease, something the tea nor his father were able to do from the last meeting.
"I can assure you, sir, that no one witnessed me leave. I've been pretty careful up to now." Bennett knew this fact was only ninety percent true, given his outburst the other day. Bennett would like to think that Ben had no knowledge of that particular event, however he wasn't about to undermine the leader's capabilities.

Ben was waiting for an answer to his question, although any reaction could only affirm that Bennett hadn't seen someone following instead of expressing any real information. And yet couldn't Ben helped but ask it anyway.
"Maybe you should let him rest before you start the interrogation,", suddenly Juliet interposed with a remark, for which she didn't get more than the same undefinable expression he had eyed Bennett with only seconds before, still remaining at her when she added some more words in Bennett's direction. It's just in the morning. He should have had enough of rest by now.
"Please, have a seat. You want some lemonade?" And where had his lemonade been, by the way, Ben was wondering with silence sarcasm. "Bennett knows the jungle better than our new arrivals,""And it's likely they're too busy surviving or fighting amongst themselves to notice his comings and goings."
"I actually wouldn't want to underestimate them.", Ben made both of them wonder before the young man finally served him with assurance; assurance that might not be of high value though.
"I can assure you, sir, that no one witnessed me leave. I've been pretty careful up to now."
"Good.", he finally replied briefly but with a nod that didn't seem overly reassured before he suddenly added with a slight smile: "And it's Ben. We're all neighbors here, aren't we?" And with that, his eyes were also wandering to Juliet one more time.

"Good. And it's Ben. We're all neighbors here, aren't we?"
Whether we want to be or not, Juliet thought with a quirked brow. Hoping that Bennett had the sense to not get too casual or comfortable with Ben, since their leader had a nasty habit of reminding you when you forgot your place. She dropped a couple of ice cubes into a glass and poured some Dharma lemonade over them, then walked over to Bennett to hand him the drink. "We don't know enough to know whether we're underestimating them," she remarked, crossing her arms and leaning back against the table.
"From what Ethan says, they have one hunter, one fisherman, and a lot of hungry mouths to feed," she continued. "Half of them sit on the beach waiting for rescue that we know won't come, the other half cower in the caves -- their only reliable source of fresh water that they stumbled upon by accident. Or would you have us believe that Jacob led them there?" she scoffed with a direct glare at Ben. The mythical ruler and benefactor of their Island who she had yet to see any proof of.
"What else can you tell us, Bennett?" she asked the young man.

"And it's Ben. We're all neighbors here aren't we?"
Bennett looked at Ben for a moment before slowly nodding his head in agreement. Yes, they were all neighbors living in a bright and family friendly community where there were jobs for everyone and education readily available. To newcomers from the outside world, if chosen to come here, they would think of this exclusive community as living the suburban dream. But from being born and raised on the island to one of the key players in their society, Bennett knew things he shouldn't know by his eavesdropping ears and had seen things that a lot of these residents couldn't even imagine. Through it all, he's kept his mouth shut of the dark secrets of Ben and his works. He knew this man's capabilities and motives and none of them were lands friendly as portrayed in this room.
"What else can you tell us, Bennett ? "
Bennett returned his attention to Juliet, " They've got a doctor. Jack Shepard. His great talents have gotten him appointed the unofficial leader of the survivors." Bennett knew Jack would serve them well if it was Ben's will, "And there's a young girl, Sarah Appleton. Eight years of age. She traveled alone for as far as I know, there is a couple of survivors that watch over her." Bennett felt it was important to mention Sarah as he was aware of Ben's keen interest in adopting children into the community due to the women not being able to have children. That was, until the pregnant woman on the plane. "The survivors are running low on supplies and are restless for a rescue. Claire seems to be healthy and well, but your samples will be able to tell you more."

Ben's staring eyes remained a little longer at Juliet before she lastly broke eye contact to get a drink for their newcomer prepared. And so did he, regarding the eye contact. Also, his mind divagated for the while of Juliet approaching Bennett with the glass and started talking about those plane crash survivors.
...Or would you have us believe that Jacob led them there?" Ben's eyes cleared up again once he heard her saying this name. His head anyway had been still directed at her. Before he could have said anything though, Juliet went on, this time addressing the young man behind.
"What else can you tell us, Bennett?"
"They've got a doctor. Jack Shepard. His great talents have gotten him appointed the unofficial leader of the survivors." And then all of a sudden Ben got keen-eared. A doctor. Jack Shepard. "And there's a young girl, Sarah Appleton. Eight years of age. She traveled alone for as far as I know, there is a couple of survivors that watch over her." Which parental unit would let their eight-year-old daughter travel all alone, Ben wondered for a moment, continued listening with attention though. "The survivors are running low on supplies and are restless for a rescue. Claire seems to be healthy and well, but your samples will be able to tell you more." The rest of this reporting was rather trivial, as there was no new information in it. Nothing he wouldn't have known already.
"Keep a weather eye on the doctor and his relation to the other survivors. Make sure he won't get suspicious of you at any time.", Ben started to rattle down commands in an almost memorized way. "We'll take care of the girl soon." Sarah Appleton, eight years old. Right to the list.

"Keep a weather eye on the doctor and his relation to the other survivors. Make sure he won't get suspicious of you at any time. We'll take care of the girl soon."
"We should focus our efforts on the children," Juliet agreed. "They'll be the most in need of a stable, secure environment. This Sarah and the two that survived in the tail section. They'll also be easier to convince than the adults that we have their best interests in mind." And even though Ben always did a remarkable job of hiding his emotions, even he couldn't hide a reaction to news of a doctor being among the survivors. Granted, she was a doctor as well but not the kind that Ben needed. If it were anyone else, she would wonder how long he could keep the secret of his diagnosis. But Ben was adept at discretion.
Juliet turned her attention back to Bennett. "You said this doctor was their...unofficial leader," she repeated. "Has anyone challenged him on it? Questioned his decisions?"

”There has been a few concerns regarding a couple of decisions, but for the most part they all seem to follow his lead. They really look up to him,” Bennett answered with no doubt as up front and honest as possible. However , something Juliet had mentioned previously caught his thought process off guard, “Wait...did you say tailsection? There’s more survivors?” Bennett was surprised by this revelation. Normally he would mind his own business. But he was now fully involved in the lives of these survivors and thought he had a right to know.

“Wait...did you say tailsection? There’s more survivors?”
"There are.", Ben suddenly answered for Juliet's part. "And there's no need they get aware of each other."
There had been something in Bennett's tone, as he had asked this question, that didn't please Ben for some reason. This young man had just this one job to take care of, so why was he bothering about the information of another group of survivors?

"Ben's right, you don't need to be concerned about them," Juliet stated with an encouraging smile. However, she was annoyed with herself for giving the kid another secret to keep. “Ben's right, you don't need to be concerned about them.” Bennett drifted from the intensive glare of Ben to Juliet, whose presence offered some relief for the whole room. Aware he had pushed too far over the line with this question, Bennett nodded as he backed down slightly for the moment being. Though, Bennett definitely wasn’t sorry. It wasn’t the first time his prying mind had pushed the limits and rules of Ben Linus. And with the vast interest in these mysterious plane crash survivors, Bennett knew it wouldn’t be the last time. "I'm sure you have your hands full observing and getting to know your group of survivors. Have they made efforts to reach out to you and Ethan? What have you told them about yourselves?" ”Just the alibis given to us by Ben, nothing more.” Bennett replied to Juliet, however he was distracted by his own thoughts. Although strictly on a mission, he grew agitated by all of these questions and not recieving anything in return. “Can I say something?” It was only a mere few seconds after the end of his answer to Juliet before abruptly taking a couple of steps further into the conversation ring, proceeding with his statement before waiting for any sort of approval, “We’ve been out there for ten days. We’ve lived among them, observed, obtained samples, collected intel...yet I still have no idea what we are doing all of this for. Why these people are so special.” This time, Bennett was looking directly at his leader, “At this rate, the survivors are weakened, and they can try to adapt as much as they want however their new environment has them all completely vulnerable. You have enough men and intel from our previous meetings, wouldn’t it be easier to go down to the camps, weed out the ones you want and do away with the weak and incapable?”

"Ben's right, you don't need to be concerned about them," Ben appreciated Juliet's loyalty, or rather her compliance, every time it surfaced, but did he had an idea what was really going on in her head. Well, eventually she would learn to feel home at this place because Ben was the one who could serve her with everything she wanted. Just why didn't she see that? "I'm sure you have your hands full observing and getting to know your group of survivors. Have they made efforts to reach out to you and Ethan? What have you told them about yourselves?"Ben's attention turned to Bennett once Juliet was addressing the young man with more questions. ”Just the alibis given to us by Ben, nothing more.” Ben said nothing, instead kept watching Bennett in silence. “Can I say something?” This is a free land; of course you can say something. But before he could have said anything at all, the young man proceeded anyway. “We’ve been out there for ten days. We’ve lived among them, observed, obtained samples, collected intel...yet I still have no idea what we are doing all of this for. Why these people are so special.”
Ben hold his gaze like this would be kind of a duel; a duel Ben always won at that.
“At this rate, the survivors are weakened, and they can try to adapt as much as they want however their new environment has them all completely vulnerable. You have enough men and intel from our previous meetings, wouldn’t it be easier to go down to the camps, weed out the ones you want and do away with the weak and incapable?” He stared Bennett down for some more seconds, before serving him with an answer. "The island choose, not I. It's not my place to question its decisions. Nor is it yours. So, if you don't have any more news or questions, I suggest you hurry back before they will get suspicious of you." And still were those beady eyes staring the other down, waiting for a pawn to head back to the chess board.

The tension had slowly ratcheted up in the room. Juliet was surprised, and somewhat pleased, that Bennett had chosen to speak so frankly to Ben. Well, she had warned him about the possibility of the survivors being a bad influence. "He's right, we shouldn't keep you," Juliet agreed. "Let me walk you out."
She accompanied Bennett to the door of the infirmary, reclaiming the lemonade glass from him and trying to make sure she was out of earshot. "You wanna' know why they're special? Ask yourself when was the last time a plane flew over this island, why those people survived that horrific crash. I have to believe all this has happened for a reason," she confided. "Right now, you're in the best position to find that out. Over these ten days, friendships and alliances have formed. Ben and Ethan will tell you to stay away, but you need to prove that they can trust you. Isolating yourself won't do that, it will only make them more suspicious."
But at the end of the day, he was still a kid on his own being asked to walk in a strange land. Juliet laid a soothing hand aside his cheek. "Be patient and make yourself useful to them," she advised. "You'll be able to come home soon."

"The island chooses, not I. It's not my place to question its decisions. Nor is it yours. So, if you don't have any more news or questions, I suggest you hurry back before they will get suspicious of you."
The island. Through all of the questions asked and the answers provided over the years, Ben's conclusions always came down to either the island chooses, or this is what Jacob wants. Bennett began to question whether it was all real, or if it was all a phony act and Ben was nothing more than the little man behind the curtain.
"He's right, we shouldn't keep you," "Let me walk you out."
Before Bennett could open his mouth and say anything further that he would most likely regret later, Juliet chimed in and offered to escort Bennett out the door. "Have a good day...Ben," Bennett bid adieu to his boss in a slightly condescending manner before handing back the glass of lemonade to Juliet and following her to the door.
"You wanna' know why they're special? Ask yourself when was the last time a plane flew over this island, why those people survived that horrific crash. "You're right. You're completely right...I guess this whole thing has just been taking it's toll, is all." Bennett wanted nothing more than to be able to handle the heat and please his people. It's what was expected from him, after all. However, he was growing rather weary of what was "expected" to make his questionable boss pleased.
"Be patient and make yourself useful to them," "You'll be able to come home soon."
Bennett's gazed looked upward to make eye contact with Juliet as she gently placed a hand on his cheek. Finding comfort in her reassurance, his lips curved into a slight side grin. "I hope so. Thanks Juliet," Bennett thanked his friend with gratitude before turning his back and exiting the Infirmary. Coming to the treeline, Bennett looked upwards and sighed warily, "Here we go again."

As much as Ben appreciated Juliet's consenting words, as sure was he that she didn't side with him at all. She was still looking at him as the bad guy that had snatched her from her sister's life, while in reality, she was here because she was needed so much more here than back there. Juliet could live a very happy life if she finally stopped thinking about the past. Ben even had shown her the sister's new life with a born baby, and still, Juliet didn't see; didn't see that nothing was further from his intentions than to harm her.
Ben was waiting inside the infirmary, while she and Bennett had a private talk outside. He didn't even have to eavesdrop on them to know what they were talking about. He was sure though Juliet wouldn't give away where her loyalties lay, not even to a rebellious boy, or maybe especially not to that. Sometimes Ben felt like not knowing either, but if one day it was needed to give her a push into the direction where they should lay, he would.
His eyes were just scanning some of the documents Juliet had read before he had entered the room, when he heard the door handle moving again. And so Ben turned his gaze back to the door, sending a slight smile towards the person that was re-entering. "Did you guys work it out?"

She watched Bennett leave the village before heading back into the room, unsure how much more small talk was necessary before her visitor would simply allow her to get back to her earlier task.
"Did you guys work it out?"
A fleeting smirk played across her lips as she thought he sounded a bit paranoid. "As I said before, Ben, he's a kid," she replied. "He misses his home, his family and friends. You're not exactly giving him a reason to trust your methods or your motives. I was trying to remind him of the bigger picture."
Juliet returned to her desk, shuffling and stacking papers so as to move them away from his prying eyes. "And I'll refrain from saying 'I told you so'," she added, "this time. I mean, you can't expect me to believe that Alex does everything you ask without question."
