Everything was a blur the longer he heard Frederick's words pour out. They barely registered. But rather than pummeling the stupid blighter he took a few steps back. Or he was dragged back. The Slytherin was right about one thing. Even if he was crude and witless.
The dark haired boy ran past them and out of the hall. Oliver didn't even think about picking up his books. He would wait for the crowd to thin. And there was the little matter of his face starting to flush. And it was not from anger this time. He gently freed himself from Gwen's 'hug'. "Thanks for that. There are worse things than a busted nose. And thats giving one out in front of the Headmaster."
He was glad for the Professor's approach so he could turn his side to the girl, he could hide his embarrassment. He lowered his voice as the man got closer so as not to give him fuel if he didn't already have it. "I would have given Frederick a good shot too." That may be all bluster he couldn't tell but he had to save face. Especially after Gwen had to patch him up after his last "altercation".

"I think you will find these to your liking. The house crest will be added as soon as we get you through your accelerated courses my dear."
"Thanks," she said smiling as she examined the robes. Just this one simple thing would help so much with blending in. At least by outward appearance. Now she just had to work on not looking surprised and/or impressed by things flying or appearing out of nowhere, paintings talking to her, the existence of elves, and heaven knew what else... She sighed, knowing she had a long way to go but reminded herself she should be patient. This was only her second day knowing this world existed after all.
Winky reappeared with a few plates of food and Anya looked at the spread wide-eyed as she sat before it, wondering where to start.
"Let me leave you to your meal Anya, you will need it. It will be a full day. I will return shortly however as there is someone I would like you to meet."
She was nervous about getting started and most especially, having to meet yet another person. It was overwhelming but her hunger offered a welcoming distraction. "Thank you, Winky," she said around a mouthful of food.

The Headmaster walked through the Great Hall with a purpose. Most of the isles were clear now as most of the students had gone on to their daily activities except for the small crowd that remained by the entrance. Marius saw just who he had been looking for.
As he approached the gathering the professor could see books scattered all over the floor and most of the onlookers parted like water on the rocks as he stood assessing the situation before him. "It is impressive how fast students forget the rules here at Hogwarts. Your break over the summer hasn't kept you from us long enough to excuse this sort of behavior..." he said with a frown. Clearing his throat Ogden continued, "I think perhaps it being the first day, I can pardon you all this once. Just be happy it was me and not Mr. Filch to come along." He frown faded into a glint of a smirk.
As the crowd thinned he focused his attention on the young Ravenclaw, the only one who seemed to have composed herself at this point. "Ms. Brigham would you please come with me? I have something to discuss with you before you are lost to me in study." He smiled as he waited for her to join him. He knew how seriously she took her classes and he knew she would be the right person for Anya to help ease her into life in the castle.

"I would have given Frederick a good shot too."
"Knocked him flat on his smug arse, I'd wager." Gwen agreed, sending her friend a reassuring grin. The approach of Professor Ogden removed the grin from her face, along with quieting the crowd that had gathered.

"I think perhaps it being the first day, I can pardon you all this once. Just be happy it was me and not Mr. Filch to come along."
Getting reprimanded, no matter how mildly, on the first day was not part of Gwen's plans and she inwardly cursed that prat Flint. He'd best to steer clear of her from now on. Gwen was so caught up in her angry thoughts of the Slytherin that she'd barely managed to catch her own name coming from the headmaster.
"Ms. Brigham would you please come with me? I have something to discuss with you before you are lost to me in study."
"Me?" Gwen squeaked out, caught completely off guard. What could Ogden possibly have to discuss with her?
'Bullocks.' Gwen's face paled. She knew what would warrant the attention of the headmaster. Or rather who.
Jake. This had to be about Oliver and Jake. She shot a look at Oliver before following the professor, vowing to herself that she wouldn't give out her friends no matter what torture, pain or worst of all; expulsion she might be threatened with.

The music had been a welcome respite to her morning routine. Lottie quite hoped that it was to become a permanent fixture. Perhaps one morning she would even muster the confidence to ask if she could sit in. She inwardly chuckled as she finished her breakfast. Imagine, a Gryffindor lacking the courage it took to ask another student if she could join their band. Ludicrous. Not for the first time, Lottie wondered if she'd be properly sorted.
Oh well, questions for another day. Lottie cleared her spot and exited to her first class.

As they started walking away leaving the other students behind Marius noticed the color drain from the Ravenclaws face. "You needn't worry Ms. Brigham. You are not in any danger of another lecture. Quite the opposite actually." They continued further and as they cleared the tables at the far end he steered them towards the antechamber.
"I was hoping to ask you to take care of something between classes. Depending on your schedule or afterwards for some extra credit. We have a new student this year for the accelerated courses and I could not think of anyone better to tutor her a bit. As you know the other professors and I pay special attention to taking care of this program but this would be a personal favor to me," he put on his stern face for just a moment as he continued, "It would help to keep you out of trouble I am sure."
They entered the smaller room and Marius stepped aside to allow Gwen the room to take a seat if she wished. "Anya I hope you have found the feast to your liking. This is one of our top students, Gwendolyn Brigham of Ravenclaw House. Gwen this is Anastasia Novak." With the introductions made, he gave them a moment to converse. He would not require such a thing of Gwen but he did hope she would be up to the task.

Gwen listened intently, her curiosity growing as she realized that this had nothing to do with recent events involving the Burke twins. The accelerated program? She had to admit, she didn't know much about it. The professors did not speak much of it and she had never met any student who had been part of it. And not knowing much about it piqued her interest more than anything.
As they entered the antechamber, Gwen noticed it contained only one other occupant. The girl seemed about her age and had her own breakfast feast. 'That must be lonely.' Gwen noted to herself.
"Anya I hope you have found the feast to your liking. This is one of our top students, Gwendolyn Brigham of Ravenclaw House. Gwen this is Anastasia Novak."
"Ey up, how's tha doin'?" Gwen stuck her hand out towards the girl. "It's nice to meet thee."

Her hunger staved, Anya pushed the food around on her plate as she contemplated who Marius was bringing. A professor? A student? Some other form of creature she once had thought didn't exist? Would this person be genuinely friendly? Or manipulative bullies like her foster family?
Hearing Marius' voice echo closer, Anya quickly pushed the heavy bench back and stood watching the doorway, tense with uncertainty. She peered past Marius as he entered and saw a girl her age. Kind eyes looked out from a friendly face. Anya relaxed as Marius made the introductions.
"Ey up, how's tha doin'?" "It's nice to meet thee."
Anastasia smiled hesitantly back as she shook the girls hand. "It's nice to meet you, too." As soon as the handshake ended, Anya stood with her hands casually laced together, the thumb of her right hand running over the scars on her left palm. It looked like a simple nervous habit but in reality, she was rubbing away the tingling.
Unsure of how to proceed because she didn't even know why she was being introduced, Anya looked at Marius expectantly.

Gwen was not shy in the least but even she was at a bit of a loss in this situation. She too looked expectantly at the headmaster. When he didn't offer up any more information, she quickly wracked her brain for some that he'd already provided.
"So, ye are a new student? I hear that I'm to be helpin' you get caught up in your courses." With a friendly grin to reassure Anya, she continued, "Don't worry, I'm an excellent tutor. You'll be an ace with a wand in no time. I make no promises about potions though."
At that moment her stomach gave a large growl. With all the excitement, she'd forgotten about breakfast. Apparently, though, it had not. "D'ya mind if I join you for breakfast?"

"So, ye are a new student? I hear that I'm to be helpin' you get caught up in your courses."
She nodded in answer to the question and kinda flinched on her behalf for the statement after. "That'll be quite an undertaking," she said with a sheepish, apologetic expression.
"Don't worry, I'm an excellent tutor. You'll be an ace with a wand in no time. I make no promises about potions though."
A wand. Potions. It still sounded a bit silly to her ears, like they were children setting up a play date for pretend time. That aside, she didn't doubt that there was much Gwendolyn wouldn't excel at. She held herself with confidence and seemed to have such a passion for learning that she appeared genuinely excited at the prospect of sharing her knowledge.
"D'ya mind if I join you for breakfast?"
"Oh. Yah, sure. Help yourself." Anya stepped aside and made a welcoming gesture toward the table with trays of food. "Sorry I don't have much to offer," she joked as she followed Gwendolyn to the table and sat across from her. Anya scooted down as a gesture of invitation for Marius to join them.

Dray had finished her breakfast and her homework, so all she could do was sit back and relax until class. She leaned against the table and placed her guitar on her knee. She strummed low, not wanting to annoy anyone with yet another song. She had written a song when she was in her first year, retelling the events of the last house cup, honoring Cedric Diggory.
When his name was called he stood so tall The best of us was he. A boy who faced the dark lord, A boy named Diggory.
He faced a dragon with bravery and mermaids to saved his love. He navigated the maze and took hold of the cup.
No one knows what happened that day with the boy who lived but he brought back our heroes Cedric Diggory.
Dray trailed off, looking up and noticing a few first years gathered around. "Hey, you all know the tale of Cedric Diggory?" Some did but a couple shook their heads. "Come on, i'll tell you all about it." She smiled.

Darleen sighed and looked over at Dray from across the hall. They all seemed to flock to Dray and her guitar, all she had to do was smile and people loved her. She knew she shouldn't be annoyed about it, but friendship came so easy to most people but for her, it was just harder. Sighing, she grabbed a piece of fruit before getting up and storming off to the opposite end of the room.

The two students took their seats across from each other. This was exactly what the headmaster had been hoping for. He always wanted those special cases to fit in but he felt protective of Anya and wanted to take extra care. But it seemed his faith had not been misplaced, Gwen was the perfect choice!
Marius took a seat at the far end of the table. "You will have a lot of people helping you along the way, its the nature of this program you find yourself in. But the most important people are your peers. They have been in your shoes and a fresh perspective goes a long way. Before you know it you will be just what Miss Brigham promised!"
Ogden shifted to face forward, not turning from them but focusing on the wall to the side for a moment. This was going to be a particularly busy year. He was feeling a bit stretched already. But he would keep that to himself. No sense in worrying in front of them. They where in unknown territory and needed encouragement. For just a moment though he let some of his walls down. "I do miss these moments, having a whole school to attend too often makes you long for those small comforting walls of your classroom. I'm eager to see what studies you take to Anya."

Thank goodness she would have people helping her along the way. She was stumbling blindly through foreign territory. The last part, however, she had trouble getting past her self-doubt to agree with, though she smiled nonetheless.
"I do miss these moments, having a whole school to attend too often makes you long for those small comforting walls of your classroom. I'm eager to see what studies you take to Anya."
Ah, so he used to be a teacher. She actually took comfort in that reveal. It meant he had experience and most likely patience with students rather than just the ability to run a school.
"I'm eager to find out what studies there are," she replied cheekily. Having absolutely no idea of the options, she couldn't even begin to make a guess as to what she may excel at or which subjects she'd like and which she'd grumble about going to. It was a scary and exciting thought all at once. She certainly won't be bored anytime soon.

"I'm eager to find out what studies there are," Anya replied with a hint of snark. That point made the older man happy. She was starting to let herself be a normal teenager. There was an innocent roll of his eyes and then he shrugged his shoulders.
"I will introduce you today to the different classes, with a special attention to muggle studies," the headmaster then clarified, "Non-magic folk. I'll have to see how the new professor is fairing since they had to fill that position this year. The previous teacher, I believe, was promoted." Marius leaned back with that wistful expression passing over his face once more but he quickly dispelled it for a smirk of his own.

Morgana slowly but surely made her way down the row of students to find her usual place at the Ravenclaw table. She had hoped that no one remembered the mishap from earlier that day, and she hoped that no one had seen how she ended up running to the courtyard to let out a good cry before the start of the first class. Get your act together, Parkinson, it's only day one she repetitively told herself throughout the day. Morgana totally got the school stress, being at school and all. But reasons why her mother's usual sendoff had been bothering her today more than usual was unknown. Maybe it was due to the fact that knowing her birth father is out there somewhere living a life without her gnawed at her soul, and she finally yearned to find him. All that aside for now, she finally found her usual place beside Gwen, and keeping to herself she stared down at her food and poked at it aimlessly with her fork. Her emotional exhaustion had caused her to lose her appetite, so although she came to lunch she didn't entirely come for the food and she knew that deep down.

"... And then I said 'I bet you're a good chaser, chaser of butterflies you pansy!'," Scorpius boomed as the flock of Slytherin first years behind him howled in laughter, patting him on the back congratulating him on the joke he just told. It was his first day at Hogwarts, and already did Scorpius harass his older brother who could easily squash him like a bug, tease the Hufflepuff girl in front of him in potions by pulling on her pony tail because the others thought it was hilarious and verbally torture a Gryffindor boy in flying class who showed interest in becoming apart of a Quidditch team someday. The day was halfway done, and Scorpius felt that he was having the time of his life as he surely rose to the top of the popularity pedestal amongst his first year Slytherin peers. The Slytherins wanted to get close to and befriend the new blond haired Malfoy in the building, all but the older and more intelligent peers who were wise enough to know that none of the bonds were true and that it was clearly an unhealthy atmosphere. Yet Scorpius did not clue into this, and he may not for a long while. For now, he would sit back and enjoy the ride in the fast lane.
Scorpius peered around as they walked down the aisle, looking for a good spot to sit at the Slytherin table. No sign of his brother Callum as of yet. Scorpius just knew that the fun with Callum would continue soon enough. The group of first years found the perfect spot at the long table and sat down, a couple of students fighting over who gets to sit close to Scorpius. With a smug grin on his face, Scorpius picked up a green apple from the centre of the table and took a big bite out of it, enjoying the limelight.

Callum, quite unlike his brother Scorpius, stepped into the great hall and headed to his usual place at the Slytherin table without even remotely attracting attention. The Slytherin table wouldn't have been exactly his first choice, if the school's conventions hadn't predetermine it. But then, it actually made no difference, if he was sitting at the Slytherin table or if he would at one of the other house's, as no one talked to him anyway. Most of the Slytherin's didn't, because of his lack of pure-blood proud and the students from the other three houses probably not, because he was a Malfoy, and Malfoys were known as to be arrogant and unamiable. So he preferred to sit alone, at least one chair next to him without a holder. Actually he wasn't sure about really preferring this himself, but at least he got used to it during the years.
Callum's head inwardly shaked, when he heard Scorpius bathing in the limelight, being the center of that crowd of superficial people. Congratulation! You managed to make like hundred false cognates on your very first day in Hogwarts!, Callum thought with a sarcastic mind. How pathetic...
And that was the end of his focus to his surroundings. In silence he started his lunch, his notebook next to him to get written some lines of spontaneous constructiveness alongside. This always has helped him through the lonelyliness he actually didn't admit to himself to has accompanied him his whole life up to now.

Scorpius's porcelain jaw chomped away at the green apple as his fellow Slytherin students listened to his stories from the first day. When there was nothing left but a core, he toyed with it in his hand for a bit until he decided to carelessly toss it onto the table in front of him. Scorpius was basking in all the glory he was receiving, but wasn't too preoccupied to notice his brother waltzing towards the table from the corner of his eye. Callum Malfoy sat alone quite a ways down the long table from Scorpius and his peanut gallery of first years. A sly grin stretched across Scorpius's face at the sight. He hoped that Callum didn't possibly think that the war between them had ended with victory in the corridors, no. Especially since Scorpius claimed to be violently harassed by the tiny pet that Callum carried secretly with him. Surely, Scorpius would make it his mission for their father to hear about it.
Scorpius silently motioned for his posse to follow him out of the Great Hall after they were finished eating lunch. What they didn't know was that Scorpius was about to carry out his obsession for drama with his older brother and was about to make a scene. As the hoard walked past Callum's place at the table, Scorpius put up his arm at the group following him as if to protect them. "Watch out, he's got a disgusting creature crawling about in his robes," Scorpius said in a forewarning tone as he pointed at Callum, "It's probably got a disease too. Callum's got the disease as well, most likely," Scorpius exaggerated a shudder of disgust as the rest of the Slytherins snickered and sneered.

Darleena had just finished her morning classes wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. Everyone always said it got harder and that was true if you didn't pay attention in class. Darleena always paid attention, she also was prone to practice in and out of class when she was able. She could have been a Ravenclaw but the hat put her in Slytherin.
When she entered the great hall, she saw some of her family mulling about. One being her little cousin Scorpius, he seemed to be living up to his namesake- and there was Callum, just sitting there. She waved hello to one of her friends before placing a hand up, saying she'd be there in a minute. She made her way over and wrapped her arm around her little cousin. "Scorpie, is that you?" She cooed, wanting to give him the ultimate embarrassment any family member could. She gave him a kiss in front of all his little friends and squished his little cheeks together. "Oh my, my, my! Look how big you've gotten and a Slytherin, I bet the family is so proud." She gave him more kisses before pulling him into a headlock. Her sweet as pie demeanor changed fast and she gave him some pressure, "Stop being a little wanker Scorpie, or I'm going to ruin you even before your reign begins." She glared at the rest of them, "and that goes for the rest of you, if I catch any of you soiling the name of this house again-" She leaned into them, letting her cool stare pierce their little souls. "I will make you sorry you were ever born." She hissed and watched the others scatter.

Dray stopped off at the common room and grabbed her guitar and notebook, she had tried to bring her guitar with her but the teacher had quickly shut that down. "Ms. Lopez, we had this conversation last year- no guitars in class." The day they said no guitars in the great hall, that would be a sad day. Dray was trying to figure out a good day for her band to play. They needed to get some exposure and most of the students loved her band a great deal. During her third year, a seventh year said she should come see her when she graduates from Hogwarts- since she was going into the entertainment business, who knows how solid that would be.
Dray found a spot at the table and started to grab some things, food was the best part of her day for sure. she sat with her guitar slung over her back and her notebook in front of her, munching on some chips as she wrote.
When I was young girl mama told me You can be anything you want to be.
No limits, no sky, no
fly as high as you can go The sky is your home.
Flying high in the sky Brooms away, brooms away. oooooh, ooooooh, yeah.
Pitch, free falling, free falling.
Dray was just trying her hand and some lyrics, most of her things got scraped. When one of the first years came up and sat next to her, she smiled and gave his hair a scruff. "Hey little dude." "Dray, can I be in your band?" she had one spot left, but she was saving it. She was flattered though, for sure. "Sorry little dude, I don't take first years. But hey, don't get bummed out- you can always make your own. When I got here, there was this band named, The Petrified House Elves. They were super cool and I started to write and soon The Levitating Quills were born." The kid looked excited, "I bet you'll give us a run for our money soon enough." She grinned and grabbed a sandwich from the table.

Only his eyes raised from the notebook in front of him, when his unnerving brother and his gang of monkeys (though a monkey most probably had a bigger brain) passed by. Well, if they just would have. He should have known better, that Scorpius never passed by without any comment. Especially not with such a gang following every of his steps.
So Callum looked up with a false smile playing around his lips, just before his brother raised a word, or rather screamed the hell out. The false smile was replaced by an eye-rolling of annoyance, once Scorpius voice was filling up the area around the Slytherin table.
"Watch out, he's got a disgusting creature crawling about in his robes,""It's probably got a disease too. Callum's got the disease as well, most likely,"
Now also Callum's head turned around to him, giving him a look that just said 'Seriously?'. But before he could have come up with a reaction to that, another familiar face appeared above him, right next to his little brother's.
"Scorpie, is that you?"
It was Darleena Lestrange, their cousin. What was this? A family meeting?, Callum thought with a sarcastic hiss, hardly hearable. But then suddenly his mood lightened if not made a jump. That was when Darleena gave Scorpius the ultimate embarrassment, actually an act he needed to be put back from the winner's podium he seemed to see himself sitting at.
"Oh my, my, my! Look how big you've gotten and a Slytherin, I bet the family is so proud."
Callum wasn't able to hide his amusement, when their cousin continued the embarrassment by squishing his cheeks together.
"Stop being a little wanker Scorpie, or I'm going to ruin you even before your reign begins.""and that goes for the rest of you, if I catch any of you soiling the name of this house again-""I will make you sorry you were ever born."
In this moment Callum wondered why he always evaded Darleena, whenever she had come for a visit at their estate. But it didn't take long till he remembered the answer to this. He avoided to be at home whenever he could. Also, he never spent enough time with her to tell if she was living up her family name just as Scorpius did, or if she deep inside was tired of been pigeonholed just like he was.
"You've heard her, Scorpie.", Callum grinned in amusement.

Scorpius crossed his arms in pride as he sneered at his older brother Callum, and in return Scorpius received no words except for a clear expression of deeply puzzled annoyance. Scorpius felt tall and proud, he had been winning this one, with a couple of clear advantages that Callum did not appear to have around him in that particular moment. Popularity and friends. If Scorpius had none of those things, then surely everyone would have just told him angrily to bugger off. Scorpius felt victorious in the brother battle, until he heard someone calling his name out of the crowd of students.
"Scorpie, is that you?"
Scorpius held his breath, his eyes widening in both surprise and fear. "Oh Merlin`s beard," he uttered to himself in a breathy rash manner as he knew what was to come. Scorpius turned around, immediately being met by an unwelcome smothering of hugs and kisses by none other than his older cousin Darleena Lestrange. Darleena was one of the only family members, let alone people in the entire world, who stroke enough fear into the little squirt to put him in his place at every gathering. Anyone else would have faced a horrendous wrath, if not by Scorpius then by their powerful and protective dad.
"Oh my, my, my! Look how big you've gotten and a Slytherin, I bet the family is so proud."
Scorpius squirmed and wiggled like a little worm to get away, but he was no match to his cousin who was much stronger than he was. "Leeeenaaa, stoooop, " Scorpius whined like a little five year old, embarrassing himself in front of his entire year. At that, forced hugs and kisses turned into a grip holding headlock as Darleena held Scorpius`s little blond head in her locked arm.
"Stop being a little wanker Scorpie, or I'm going to ruin you even before your reign begins." "and that goes for the rest of you, if I catch any of you soiling the name of this house again-" "I will make you sorry you were ever born."
Scorpius watched with a sore neck as his first year friends scattered away without him. Scorpius knew that Darleena meant business, as she had put him in his place multitudes of times, family gatherings especially. He hated going up against her in any sort of competitive games or sports when the whole family got together and played, as she always destroyed him with the smile of a sweet angel. The fact that she can be as darling one moment and terrifying the next scared the living daylights out of Scorpius. He looked up at her, nodding to behave as she finally let him slip out of the headlock. Like a scared little cat backed into a corner, Scorpius brushed himself off nervously and avoided all eye contact with her.
"You've heard her, Scorpie.",
Scorpius`s head whipped right up and gave the most devious glare to Callum. Callum two, Scorpius zero for today so far. Scorpius was so embarrassed and angry, he felt that he could be on the verge of tears. But he held it back greatly as he looked Callum straight in the eye.
"Getting girls to fight your battles for you now, yeah? That`s just pathetic," Scorpius said angrily as he gave one last frightful look at Darleena and darted away before she could pounce once more.

A total success as for putting the little troublemaker back in his place, Callum thought with another smile of amusement and a shake of his head at the same time. Sometimes it really seemed Scorpius was almost peeing his pants in their cousin's presence. He wished that he would have the same effect on his little brother at times. But then, he actually got tired of this whole back and forth between them long ago. That was also one reason why Scorpius' next comment didn't bother him at all. Or maybe he just had gotten too old for this...
"Getting girls to fight your battles for you now, yeah? That`s just pathetic,"
For a moment Callum thought about replying to that. But then, this seemed to have been enough for one day for his brother. Also, he was hungry and didn't want the school bell to ring in the next classes without have eaten anything. So he decided for just another look in his direction, silently saying 'If you say so', before he watched him angrily stepping away and leaving the hall.
"Such a plague.", Callum whispered to himself, though loud enough, that Darleena could hear it, if she still was standing there. Actually he even didn't raise his head another time to check on that. He just wanted to eat in peace. He anyway never cared what any of his family members were thinking about him. So why should he start now?

Elliotte was sitting on the Hufflepuff table, her friends next to her. The day has started pretty relaxed. No detention invites yet, she thought with the usual grin on her face, when something funny came into her mind. In fact, Elliotte wasn't able to hide any emotion on the inside. But then, she never attempt to try anyway.
"Hey Chris, my Mankey's just become a Primeape!", she suddenly bursted out not exactly quite, while her thumbs were flipping over the buttons of her Gameboy, not even raising her eyes into her best friend's direction.
"Cool. Budt yo nod wanna eaddt sometdhin?", Christopher replied with his mouth full, hardly to understand at all.
"Oh geez! This' so exciting! Did you know there's... Huh? Oh!", she just realized his question and only a second later grabbed at some fruits in front of her, with one hand eating and the other still playing Pokemon. He got addicted to it by the moment she has started this little Muggle machine, which had been a birthday present from her father.
"You really should try this out!", she continued speaking, before she took a bite from one of the sandwiches on the table. "So neat..." The last was more like a whispering to herself, drowned by her own chuckle.

"You've heard her, Scorpie." "Getting girls to fight your battles for you now, yeah? That`s just pathetic," "Such a plague." The exchange between the brothers lasted seconds before Scorpius left for the corridors. She smirked and watched him go before moving over to sit across from Callum. She didn't get to know many of her family members, a lot of them weren't even worth her time but Callum- he always seemed so lonely and so sad. Maybe, she could finally find that singular member of her family who wasn't always talking about the good days?
"Callum," She didn't dare reach a hand out to him, that wasn't the kind of person she was. However, she did sit there with her hands on her lap. "You- um, okay?"

"You really should try this out!", The sounds of the little machine had her attention drawn. The gaggle of first and second years had dispersed for lunch, so she was able to turn her attention. When she looked over, she saw Ellie playing with some weird device.
Ellie and she were friends, they hung out a lot. Mostly because few girls were like them in the whole school, "Hey," She got up and moved closer to Ellie and her friend Christopher. "Chris, bud." She gave some weird series of hand gesture's, him copying her. She high fived a few others before plopping down next to Ellie. "This that Pokemon thing you got for your birthday?"

"Hey," Ellie looked up at the sudden female voice. It was Dray, a Hufflepuff student she had become friends with a while ago. Even though she usually didn't hang out with girls, it felt like a thing of course they had to start a frienship at some point. They both were in the same Quidditch team, had a lot of other classes together and weren't exactly like the majority of other girls. In fact, Ellie has never felt uncomfortable around Dray at all. Yet sometimes there was this slight shyness coming up, above all when it just was the two of them. Whenever it did, she tried to cover it by talking without interruption. How long could it take to cast off this unfamiliarity around other girls?
"Hi Dray.", she greeted in return, putting aside the gameboy.
"This that Pokemon thing you got for your birthday?"
"It is!", Ellie replied with a wide smile. "I didn't thought there ever could be somethin' gettin' me as addicted as to butterbear. Just imagine havin' both at the same time." She let out a short joyful laughter, as she suddenly felt like talking too much about herself. "How was your day so far?"

"It is! I didn't thought there ever could be somethin' gettin' me as addicted as to butterbear. Just imagine havin' both at the same time." Butterbeer, she couldn't wait for the trips to town. She needed to stock up on some candy and get her butterbeer and pumpkin juice fix. "Tell me about it, eh. Can't wait until we head into town, we can get our proper fix." Dray grabbed a sandwich and started to munch away. "How was your day so far?" "So far so good, can't complain." She chuckled and tossed a grape into her mouth, “I did come over here for another reason, almost forgot.” She slapped her forehead, she couldn’t believe it slipped her mind. “I wanted to chat about Quidditch, we should try and get extra practice in. We got so close to winning it last year,” She took Ellie’s shoulders in her hand and gave her a shake, “I want you to be my co-captain this year, I want us to take this thing all the way.” She reached into her robe and handed her a patch. “Ever since you became our keeper, we’ve gotten close to the house cup. I need you as my second, we got two years left and I want us to have our names on that Quidditch wall. What do you say?”
