One of my books has a neat write-up about Claire's dream and the meanings usually associated with what she dreamt.
Claire's dream
Sound of a crying baby: Realization that a part of yourself is vulnerable.
Black and white imagery: (Locke's eyes, the tarot cards he's dealing, white crib in black of night) Indicated the purity and innocence of the unborn child against the evil of the island.
Playing cards: Belief that whoever is playing has mastered bluffing and the use of strategy.
Tarot cards: We don't see which cards he deals but there's the sound of a sword unsheathing when he's dealing which could mean he's looking at the Sword suit. This indicates intellect, thought, and reason. These elements are associated with Air which points to the fact they arrived in an airplane.
Blood: (in the crib) Sight of blood usually signifies the dreamer must use caution and that something bad is going to happen. The indication of a baby that is dead can mean the dreamer senses the end of something that was a part of them.
Charlie's dream (Charlie described a dream he had to Claire):
Being a bus driver: You believe you're moving forward too quickly in your life. Charlie had shot to stardom at a young age and feels like his best years are behind him.
Teeth falling out: Symbolizes that you're worried about making a fool of yourself or being unattractive to others or being powerless.
His mother was in the back of the bus: Dreaming of your mother could indicate a nurturing aspect of your own character or a problem freeing yourself from your mother.
Smell of bacon: Usually indicates a worry about earning a living and supplying loved ones with the essentials.
