1x** Lost: The Journey (Special Recap episode that aired after 1x20) Original Air Date: April 27, 2005 Summary: Flashbacks of the core characters illustrating who they were and what they were doing before the crash, a look at the island itself, and a preview of the big season finale. (tv.com) Full Special Recap Episode:
The special recap episodes are optional. I've found that watching these recap episodes helped remind me of things I may have forgotten, goes into depth and discussion on certain events, and it also highlights things that we may not have realized were important. There's a reason the writers chose these scenes to show and discuss in the recap!

What did you think of the episode? It was definitely catering to people who've never seen the show. There was hardly any narration in this one. Still though, it was good to have a little refresher. Not that I needed it as I've seen the first season 4,815,162,342 time. The little narration there was, especially at the end, was informative. What had you forgotten about that this recap reminded you about? The scenes about the inhaler, torturing, making Kate kiss him to get the inhaler... I forgot just how much of a lowlife jerk Sawyer was in the first few eps. He's gotten so much better now! What did they cover that you hadn't thought had been that important when first seeing it?Well, seeing as how this was mostly geared toward people who'd never seen the show, I didn't catch anything new or anything that I hadn't thought important. Then again, like I said, I've seen season 1 so many times that I couldn't even tell you what I had once thought had not been as important! Was there anything discussed or pointed out that you had completely missed or misunderstood when watching the show?Same answer as above. Not much discussion as there wasn't much narration and therefore, not much pointed out. How did it feel, taking this trip through the life of the show so far?It was great to see how much has happened and as always, it makes me look forward to more and to eventually rewatching it all again! How do you rate this recap compared to the others? (Question for future recaps. Doesn't apply to this first recap)I'll answer this as someone who's seen every single recap as they aired. This one was definitely the least informative. It was more a refresher for those who had already been watching. You'll see in the future ones that they have much more narration and some are even narrated by Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. They cut to the two of them discussing certain scenes throughout and going into depth with background that there wasn't time to show you in the actual show. Those specials were really great to watch and I can't wait to see those again!
