The special recap episodes are optional. I've found that watching these recap episodes helped remind me of things I may have forgotten, goes into depth and discussion on certain events, and it also highlights things that we may not have realized were important. There's a reason the writers chose these scenes to show and discuss in the recap!

As far as recaps, this is another one that was alright. It just basically covers what's happened but it was a little bit more informative than the previous ones. The narrator did offer some insightful information.
Still though, I can't wait for the recap episodes that are hosted by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse! They go way in depth and dissect things that have happened, their meaning, the connections, and things you may not have picked up. They also answer some fan questions and debunk theories.
