4 stars from me!
Well, Mikhail is freakin' alive! Guess I shouldn't be that surprised, lol! Sonic fence did nearly kill him though. His pulse must have been so weak that they hadn't felt it when they had checked.
He is one creepy ass dude but at least he saved the mystery woman. He lied about what she said though, after he punctured her lung and took out the branch. He said that she'd said "Thank you" but fans who understand Portuguese said that what she actually said was, "I am not alone."
Interesting! We saw the helicopter crashing into the water and helicopters can hold several people, so it's likely there were others. Why would she lie about that, especially when she was kinda out of it when she said it? Who is she and these other people she was supposedly traveling with? She knew of Desmond and had his pic so I'm assuming she's connected to Penny. Obviously she's not a rescue party for Flight 815 because...
Holy crap! What did she mean that it's impossible that Hurley and the rest are survivors of Flight 815 because the plane was found and there were no survivors? That everyone was dead? If she's telling the truth, that means a plane with bodies was found. Is she lying? It didn't seem like it and what would be the point of lying about that? Are they all really dead on the island? I kinda don't think so because that's a weak conclusion to the premise of the show and also, the show runners have confirmed on numerous occasions that the island is not purgatory. So then what's the explanation? Only other thing I can think of is that she's telling the truth. Then that means they found a plane full of bodies. Was it really Flight 815? Was there some weird alternate reality created during the incident? Did someone do a cover up and create a whole fake crash sight? Was it some other plane found that was mistaken for Flight 815?
Freakin' Juliet. Just when I start feeling a shred of sympathy for her, she pulls a backstabbing move. I can't believe she's still reporting to Ben. And taking samples from the women of the camp to see who might be pregnant? That's freakin' creepy and unsettling. This time though, I did keep a shred of sympathy when she said "I hate you" after she stopped the recording. So obviously, she's doing this against her will, but then again, probably for selfish reasons. Ben probably promised to let her leave the island. Still, how many times has he promised that? How could she still believe him when he says that?
As for the flashbacks, I feel so bad for Jin's dad. He is such a good man, raising a child that he's not even sure is his own and being so humble and accepting of the fact that Jin would rather people believe he's dead than to know he's a fisherman. It's such a backward, extremely old fashioned way of thinking for my U.S. mindset but I understand there are cultures still who hold things like that in such high regard. It's really sad.
Sun taking the money meant she was accepting her father's deal that that meant Jin would no longer be working on the floor and would now be working directly for Mr. Paik. That's so horrible. To save Jin from shame that would create problems for Jin and their relationship, she created the cause that we know to be what started the failing of their marriage. It was a lose-lose situation.
Jin used to be so sweet and loving. It's sad to see what Sun's dad turned him into.
Favorite quotes/moments:
Sun: (to Jin's birth mother) Jin thinks you're dead. Don't force me to make that a reality.

4 stars from me too. Not the greatest episode so far, but still a 4 star episode. It's always neat to see Sun and Jin fresh in love in their flashbacks, even though it's sad when knowing what happens to them during their marriage. All those secrets and lies between them are making me very sad. I'm glad they've found back to each other on the island at least. Jin's mum, the woman wanting money from Sun for not telling her father about Jin's family, seems to be an awful person. I think also she wasn't written pretty good btw. Other than her I like his dad for the same reasons you mentioned, Heidi. And Sun's father I hate whenever I see him! So that's why Claire was able to give birth to her baby! She was pregnant already before the plane crash has happened! Mikael! XD I can't help it, but kinda like this guy. That is though most probably because he has this funny accent in the german dub, lol. Oh, and I was pretty sure that he didn't translate the italian woman's words correctly. She didn't look like she would have said 'thank you' and Mikael didn't look like he heard a 'thank you' too. XD 'I am not alone' she was saying? Interesting! Poor Sun! I don't want her to die! Also I don't want her to find out her baby couldn't be from Jin. Like she said: she's loosing each way... I'm sure her tears were mostly tears of joy though, because Jin IS the father. I wanna give her a hug to give her comfort. Juliet reporting to Ben didn't exactly suprised me, but made me feel sad a little. Sun seemed to trust her in the end. I still can't say I would dislike Juliet. XD Still thinking that she will betray Ben in the very end, being the same good manipulator as he is. I mean, why would she want to do all that for Ben with her own past? Her having pressure on her pretty much is the only explanation for me. Also, she said 'I hate you' in the end. That proves it. But wait, Juliet said the sample of Austen! Kate Austen! Is Kate pregnant too?? Or does she at least think so, because she had seen her with Sawyer in the cage? Kate being pregnant with a child from Sawyer would be something. XD Whoaa, I've had goosebumps all around my body on the italian woman's sentence, that Flight 815 has been found with all passengers dead!!! That ending has reached the episode to a 4-star-ranking to be honest! I totally go for the theory of a fake crash to somehow conceal where the real passengers had landed!
