New York - Mobil Mart (February 2017)

Mobil Mart

A little mart in the city of New York, carrying goods of all sorts, just as a gas station right next to it.

[The Jester Of Tortuga]

Peter sat on the edge of a building his feet mindlessly kicking the air as he watched the dark silhouettes dash around the small mart. He sat waiting for Ice Queen, when Mr. Stark had said about more mentoring he figured that he had meant him who would be getting mentored not him doing the mentoring. Peter watched as they darted again, they seemed to be taking their time either that or waiting for something else to happen he wasn't too sure which.

"Karen, how far off is Icey, it's time to do whatever a Spider does."

Winter was a bit late. But to be honest, this was just characteristic of her. But it took her so long to slip in her hero-outfit because none of her family should see her like that. She didn’t even want to imagine how her parents or her brother, the supermodel, would react when they’ll see her in this full white leatherette rags!

But now she was heading to the Mobile Mart by motorcycle – a pile of junk before she repaired it with her own hands. Spiderman and she were working together for a few times, and now the friendly spider from your neighbourhood was waiting for her to arrive at the mart. She was listening to police radio on the way. Not legal of course, but sometimes most helpful to caught thieves and other bad guys. And it was no problem to convert her cell phone reception like that with her engineering abilities.

             „The three hooded people are heading toward Mobil Mart. Be careful. They are armed.“

„Yay, Bingo!“, she called out while driving. What a happenstance. Some bad boys are just on the way...


A few minutes later Winter – aka Icequeen – arrived at the Mart. It all looked peaceful for the moment. It didn’t take her long to locate Spidey. She stopped her motorcycle in front of the building, looked upwards to him and waved her hands. „Hey, come over here. I’m with some bad boys in tow!“

"Karen is she, is she actually waving? Was she sick the day they taught stealth at school?"

"I am checking her school record for any absences Peter."

"No, I didn't mean it like that, it was like a rhetorical question Karen."

Peter stood on the edge of the roof and dropped down his hand sticking along the wall and slowing him down he placed a foot firmly on the wall and pushed off his momentum sending him flying across the night sky and sticking to the giant darkened Mobil sign. Shooting some web onto the sign Peter lowered himself down head first, his hands and feet clutching the web, he smoothly came to a stop near Icey's head as they were face to mask.

"I saw at least 3 try break into the building from the side. You sure you're ready for this?"

Winter still sat on her cycle and looked up to Spiderman. She watched his way down to her marveling.
Wow, so cool! If she just could do anything like that! But she didn’t construct such a super-hero suit yet. Perhaps she would’nt be able to do so... Not sure. But she would say it’s because of missing area and stuff. Her little hobby room wouldn’t be enough. What would she do to possess a suit of armor like Iron Man or Spiderman... or if she could be an Inhuman...


"I saw at least 3 try break into the building from the side. You sure you're ready for this?"

Spideys voice brought her back to here and now.
„Huh?“ Oh, those stupid little daydreams!

So the bad guys were already over here. She remembered the police radio call.
„That must be the three wanted persons. The police said they’re armed.“

Now Winter removed her motorcycle helmet, descended from her cycle and wheeled it to a parking. She continued talking while doing that.
„Don’t worry, Spiderman! I’m ready for this. I’m longing for something like that for so long. I’ve seen all reportages about The Avengers. I know how this works.“
After she had parked her cycle, she gathered her self-made weapon and turned around to Spiderman with a broad grin on her face.
„And I can’t wait to bring this Baby into service! Oh, and don’t worry – I know the Sokovia Accords. Of course, we’re not The Avengers, but we also shouldn’t cause chaos.“
At long last she put on her special thermal imaging googles. It was an important accessory to be sure that she didn’t kill people by using her iceblast-weapon.


„So, let’s go! At least my neighborhood Spidey will protect me, right?!“

„So, let’s go! At least my neighborhood Spidey will protect me, right?!“

"That is whatever a Spider-Man does. I'll go around back and sneak in behind them. Wait for my signal and then come in."

Peter made his way back up the web before jumping off the sign and running along the rooftop of the building. Crawling down the back wall of the building he saw that the door had been left open and made his way in sticking to the ceiling moving silently. The criminals were carrying sacks and raiding anything that wasn't nailed down. Spidey dropped down next to one who was raiding a mini aisle of snack food and begun to pass the criminal some packets of junk food he had missed. The thief groaned as he took the packet from Spidey and threw it in the sack with the rest before doing a double take to realize just who it was. Peter felt the prickling of his skin and every hair on his body stand on end milliseconds before the thief reached for his gun. But that was all the time Peter needed to jump up, cling to the ceiling and dodge the bullets.

"Signalsignalsignalsignal!" was all he could yell as he dodged the fire from criminal below.

"That is whatever a Spider-Man does. I'll go around back and sneak in behind them. Wait for my signal and then come in."
"Understood", she nodded.
The important thing was that there will be a signal.


While Spidey used his incredible abilities to enter the building from the back side, she prepared her weapon.
There were several buttons and a hand gear on the ice cannon.
"This one, and that one, and – Whoa there! NOT that one!", she spoke to herself. "And finally the pry – Yay, ready!"

"Signalsignalsignalsignal!"
She was so preoccupied in thought that she nearly freaked out when she heard Spiderman’s yell.
Okay, that was an uncontroversial signal.

Winter – aka Icequeen – rushed to the front and... had to wait until the safety door opened automatically.
Really?! It goofed her performance a lot.
But the bad guys didn’t notice her coming in because they were busy.
One of them was shooting at Spiderman.
"Take that, scoundrel!", she yelled and pressed the button to shoot. (THAT button)
A streak of ice hit the man with the gun. Suddenly he froze.

"Whohoo! One done, two left."
She looked up at Spidey. "Are you okay?"

"Are you okay?"

Peter dropped from the ceiling,

"Oh, yeah, me I'm fine. Though I can't help but feel we need to work on your timing and especially on your trash talk. I mean 'scoundrel' really? Are you into those really old Star Wars movies too?"

However there were still more and the fact that they hadn't joined in with the shooting was disturbing.

[Anduin]

"Oh, yeah, me I'm fine. Though I can't help but feel we need to work on your timing and especially on your trash talk. I mean 'scoundrel' really? Are you into those really old Star Wars movies too?"
"Um,... timing, yeah... the door doesn’t have an emergency mode, you know..."
She felt how her cheeks blushed a bit. But it had to be like radiance because she was albino.

"Oh, and I really love those movies! Especially all the technology. It took me many many hours thinking about how I could recreate something similar to a lightsaber..."
She paused for a few seconds and noticed that she was off topic.
"Why did you ask?"


The two men which weren’t freeze stopped staring scared at their companion and watched at Spiderman and Icequeen. They seemed to be a bit confused.
 "Hey, you kids! What are you talking about? Get away. Run back to Mommy. You don’t want to be hurt."
Both men targeted them with their guns.

"Oh, and I really love those movies! Especially all the technology. It took me many many hours thinking about how I could recreate something similar to a lightsaber...""Why did you ask?"

Peter's eyes widened underneath his mask not that anyone could tell tough, the thought of Winter with a lightsaber scared him more than it should have. But how cool would it be to have one, Ned would lose his mind and probably a hand or three.

"Hey, you kids! What are you talking about? Get away. Run back to Mommy. You don’t want to be hurt."

"Right... the bad guys..."

With a quick flick of both his wrists Spidey sent two strands of webbing over the two criminals guns, holding on to the end of the web strands he pulled both arms out sending the guns flying to either side of the room.

"Ya know, I'm pretty sure Mr. Stark has probably already made one, a lightsaber I mean."

The two dumb founded criminals still stood staring at the pair of juvenile heroes.

[Anduin]

"Right... the bad guys..."
Those poor bad guys had to think they were in the wrong movie.
And Spidey needed just a nice trick to disarm them.
Wow, very cool – like always.

"Ya know, I'm pretty sure Mr. Stark has probably already made one, a lightsaber I mean."
"Oh, you’re sure?! If I‘ll ever get the chance to meet Mr. Stark, I’ll ask him."
And yes, she would! But to do so she had to meet Tony...
Suddenly she remembered the bandits.
"Um, should I freeze them, too? Or what do you have in mind? And by the way again - why did you ask about Star Wars?"


The two men didn’t move. But now they were staring at the juvenile heroes and each other by turns.

"The enemy is moving, Sir."

Tony glanced over at one of the readouts to his right. Okay, if this dude wanted to play Road Runner, he could be Wile E. Coyote with some fancy add-ons. Tony sped up the iron around him when yet again Friday's voice was speaking up.

"But I locate allies in the close distance."

"What do you mean.. allies?", Tony asked in surprise.

This enemy had been rather low-rated, at least in comparison to what they have dealt with in the past, so the government had abstained from taking other Avengers on board this mission. Actually, only after a great deal of coaxing that was. Tony hadn't seen any reason to make a big deal of this. The fact that he recently was missing to go on a solo trip might have played a part in contributing to start the coaxing as well. But never would he admit that the Sokovia Accords had taken away a lot of this adrenalin whenever a new mission was coming up, as that would mean to admit that his former friend hadn't been completely off base.

Once Tony detected another couple of human shapes in his field of view, one not worth the mention as for their danger rating, he spoke up again, almost simultaneously with Friday who was getting choked off. "One of them wearing a red onesie? Seems I gotta send the kid home first."

And so, with these words and a slight eye roll, Tony reduced the speed and instead prepared for landing once he had reached the birthday party at the mobil mart. He had no doubts about Spidey had something on the ball, but Tony didn't want him to get involved in this, especially not with the government in his rear.

"... And by the way again - why did you ask about Star Wars?"

"It's good to know the May the force be with you line seems to survive generations, but right now the force is right behind you.", Tony suddenly chimed in with the tinny sound of his voice sounding in his armor, before he turned towards the men who had been close to attack after a while of unbelievingly staring at the two kids. And with one fast movement of his iron arms, the men went down to the ground - knocked unconscious.

As soon as the party location was tidied up, Tony turned around towards Peter, his helmet opening up with a mechanic sound. "Okay, you kids grab a couple of coke cans and chips, I won't tell, and then head home to watch some Star Wars episodes. Work's done here.", he stated with half an uninterpretable smile and half a reproaching expression without even taking real notice of the girl right next to the boy. He simply wanted them to be gone before the real danger would be here.

"Okay, you kids grab a couple of coke cans and chips, I won't tell, and then head home to watch some Star Wars episodes. Work's done here."

"Mr. Stark we had it handled. We didn't need need assistance, though it is appre ci..ated." every hair along his body stood on end and every muscle in his body tensed ready to move as his attention was drawn to the front of the store.

"Mr. Stark get down!" Peter dashed towards Winter picking her up and diving behind a merchandise stand. On queue the front of the store was blown out in a loud bang and clanking of gears. Slowly Peter let go of Winter and stood up to see the cause of the explosion; a woman not much older than he was at most she was in her early 20's, her face was painted white and framed with long orange hair. From here her description gets a little weird, even by Brooklyn standards, on her head were two long bunny ears and she was dressed in a white corset number with a blue over coat, an umbrella in one hand and a stop watch in the other. But most importantly of all she was riding a giant mechanical rabbit, a big ole buck toothed red eyed robot bunny.

"Honestly hired goons are always running late." was all she said.

"Ahhh. Mr. Stark is it too late to tag you in?" Peter said looking up to Iron Man.

Wait! That voice!
Really?!
That was... Iron Man!

Before she could answer him or do something else Tony knocked out the men in front of them.
So cool!
But... it was their own turn.
And they had everything under control – or nearly everything...
"Okay, you kids grab a couple of coke cans and chips, I won't tell, and then head home to watch some Star Wars episodes. Work's done here."
It seemed to her that Mr. Stark didn’t take them seriously or even didn’t notice herself.
Damn it.
What the hell did he think who he was? (Iron Man, of course!)

Before she could say anything Spiderman took the chance to vent his displeasure.
"Mr. Stark we had it handled. We didn't need assistance, though it is appre ci..ated."
But why did he stutter at the end of his words? What...
Suddenly the friendly spider of the neighborhood grabbed her and jumped behind a merchandise stand.
At the very same moment something destroyed the front of the store.

"Honestly hired goons are always running late."
It was not her words which hogged the limelight. It was her appearance.
Was she really trying to look like a... bunny?!
Cripes! Winter sometimes thought her heroine-dress could be strange, but that woman crowned it all.
But that giant mechanical rabbit... – it was...
"Awesome!", Winter shouted out loud unwitting.

"Ahhh. Mr. Stark is it too late to tag you in?"
Spidey’s voice remembered her where she was and who was with them.
The albino girl also turned to Tony aka Iron Man.
"I think she was your target, right? Oh – and wait! Did you make a lightsaber on your own?"

"Mr. Stark we had it handled. We didn't need need assistance, though it is appre ci..ated."

For a little moment, there was slight confusion showing up on Tony's face. Either Spiderboy just realized how much he had missed him which caused to send him into a motionless state, or, what was more likely...

"Mr. Stark get down!"

Tony had been just about to turn around to face the arrived enemy, something he hoped wouldn't happen before these kids went back home, when suddenly the front of the store was blown out in a loud clank. Despite their enemy's surprise effect, he was quick to shut his helmet close, just in time as splinters of the shop's glass front was flying right at him.

"Honestly hired goons are always running late.", the woman... no, the... Had she really choose her superhero outfit to be a bunny suit?... Okay, this was distracting, but most of all did it prevent him from taking her too seriously. An attitude that actually wasn't so uncommonly with him anyway.

Tony ignored the white girl's sudden exclamation and also Peter's comment, and instead let his helmet flip back open to give the bunny lady a seriously? expression. He was just going to say something when Peter's companion addressed him for the first time.

"I think she was your target, right? Oh – and wait! Did you make a lightsaber on your own?"

A lightsaber? He actually just had some other concerns in his mind, and so fobbed her off with just a "Okay, autograph granted for later. Promise. Now head back home." His voice was sounding rather commanding than concerned, even though it was concern deep down.

Without paying any more attention to Peter and the girl, Tony finally turned towards the female Bugs Bunny. "So, we gotta wait for Daffy and Tweety to complete the team, or just getting started?"

"Okay, autograph granted for later. Promise. Now head back home.""So, we gotta wait for Daffy and Tweety to complete the team, or just getting started?"

Peter turned towards Ice Queen while Iron Man taunted the crazy giant robot riding lady.

"Queenie he's right, you need to get to safety who knows how this will end."

With that Spider-Man jumped onto the roof and crawled over until he was near Mr. Stark, sticking some web to the roof and remaining upside down he slowly dropped until his head was level with Tony's.

The lady on the robot rabbit pointed an umbrella toward the two, "One, two! One, two! And through and through, The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!" the bunny robot's arms began to shift and fold turning into giant blades which glinted from the light.

"I think she's trying to say its duck season?"

The bunny then leapt toward them covering the distance in a single bound. Spidey sent out another strand of web aiming behind the robot trying to zip line behind it only for the robot to use one of its bladed arms to cut through his webbing sending him into a roll along the ground.

"Wabbit season then!" he yelled at Iron Man correcting himself.

[Anduin]

Tony Stark aka Iron Man was acting as cool as always. It had been owed to his experiences and, of course, his natural coolness.
He pattered and didn’t take the Bunny-woman seriously.
But he didn’t take her seriously, too!
"Okay, autograph granted for later. Promise. Now head back home."
What the...?! (Besides she already had an autograph card from Tony...)
And Spiderman agreed with him.
"Queenie he's right, you need to get to safety who knows how this will end."
He didn’t even wait for an answer.
"Traitor", she said when Spidey jumped away to help Iron Man.
"And you’re authorized to help?! Everything you can do, I can do better", she whispered to herself. Even if she knew that this wasn’t the full truth, she felt unjustly treated.

And of course she didn’t spare a thought about leaving this place!

Meanwhile the strange Lady revealed a few of her gadgets.
Nice!
But she also didn’t pay attention to the albino girl.
"One, two! One, two! And through and through, The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!"
Perhaps this would be her error.
Winter grabbed her Ice-cannon which had fallen to the ground when Spiderman had picked her before. She maximized its power.
"I think she's trying to say its duck season?" "Wabbit season then!"
"Sounds good, Spidey. But I prefer duck season – especially frozen ducks", she yelled to the others.
"Get down, boys!"
And then she pressed the button.
"Take that, Playboy-Bunny!"

There were some shrill tones instead of the usual sounds.
"Hey, what’s wrong with..."
Winter didn’t have the chance to speak out.
Suddenly there was a blowback without a shoot and that sent her flying.
Probably the gun was damaged by the fall.
She should fix that... later, of course.

Tony stood in place and kept watching with disbelief. "If there's anything at all I hate more than Bugs Bunny, it's a rhyming Bugs Bunny."

When suddenly spiderwebs were zipping close to him, he turned to face Peter again. Who actually had said that the head back home line hadn't gone for him as well? Well, fine, it might not be too bad to have an ally here, even though this meant he had to handle with the boy's antsy demeanor at the same time again.

"Wabbit season then!"

"Sounds good, Spidey. But I prefer duck season – especially frozen ducks. Get down, boys!" Tony was just about to face the girl who didn't seem to have taken his urgent advice to leave this place too seriously when a somewhat familiar sound made him hold. The mechanical sound of a loading... water bazooka? What the hell was appearing on the market nowadays? "Take that, Playboy-Bunny!"

Tony had almost started to come up with something like impression, realizing her weapon could be more than just a toy for kids, as some shrill tones coming from it were nipping these thoughts in the bud.

"Hey, what’s wrong with..."

Tony saw the blowback of her weapon coming and so turned towards Peter just before the girl took a flight backward. "You take care of your date. I'll take over at the front." And with that, he didn't even waste another look back at them and instead drew his attention forward. "It seems to me you're a little early for Easter, so what are you here for instead?"

Whatever Winter intended to do her tech did the opposite and sent her flying backwards.

"You take care of your date. I'll take over at the front." 

Peter was already on it launching a web grenade which explode spreading a web to catch her softly, softer than she would have anyway.

"It seems to me you're a little early for Easter, so what are you here for instead?"

"Mr. Stark we're just friendly neighborhood superheroes." Peter said walking up next to Iron Man "I don't want to understate your quip, it was very funny but there is literally a stand of Easter Eggs over there... in the corner she just blew up."

"It seems a shame, to play them such a trick. After we've brought them out so far, And made them trot so quick!" The villainess' words were still just as confusing as her giant mechanical Bunny threw up two large eggs which quickly exploded in a flash of light and smoke. When all had cleared The White Rabbit had gone leaving no trace behind.

"Agh Karen could you tell Mr. Stark that she got away?"

"Mr. Stark Spider-Man has indicated for me to tell you that she has managed to get away" Karen's disembodied voice rang out over their communicators.

Winter clenched her teeth to prepare herself for the bumpy landing. And for the associated pain. She also closed her eyes and...
The pain didn’t happen. It felt like she fell on something cottony.

"It seems to me you're a little early for Easter, so what are you here for instead?"
"Mr. Stark we're just friendly neighborhood superheroes." "I don't want to understate your quip, it was very funny but there is literally a stand of Easter Eggs over there... in the corner she just blew up."
She noticed the voices of the others. And the voice of the strange villainess.
"It seems a shame, to play them such a trick. After we've brought them out so far, And made them trot so quick!"
While they thought about her strange words, Winter – accustomed to many kinds of machines – heard a revealing sound.
"Guys, this sounds not good. She... Oh!"
The machine bunny threw two giant eggs which turned out to be smoke-bombs.

While she stood up from those spiderwebs (Oh wow, real giant spiderwebs!!!), she heard Spiderman instructing his KI Karen to tell Tony what happened. What an irony – Mr. Stark had to realize that, too.
Winter raised her voice before Iron Man – or his KI – could answer.
"Maybe she had another target as the market and wanted to be sure that we couldn’t disturb her plan. And I think the police will soon arrive to pick up these bad boys."
She made a short pause before she turned directly to Mr. Stark: "So we got some time left for a little conversation, right?! Em, do you remember my question? The lightsaber?"
There was a glance in her eyes while she talked about those Star Wars stuff.
"Do you think we could try to build one together, Mr. Stark?"

"Mr. Stark we're just friendly neighborhood superheroes.""I don't want to understate your quip, it was very funny" "Nah-ah, don't.", Tony broke in Spidey's flattery with a gesture saying that this wasn't the time for getting a selfie with the great Iron Man or what else would be coming next. "but there is literally a stand of Easter Eggs over there... in the corner she just blew up."

"It seems a shame, to play them such a trick. After we've brought them out so far, And made them trot so quick!" At these words coming from behind, his head finally turned back around to their enemy, still not one hundred percent taken seriously by him. Well, kind of a challenge to take someone serious who was wearing a bunny outfit and in addition was carrying eggs around with her, wasn't it?

"Guys, this sounds not good. She... Oh!"

Tony was still watching the clearing smoke, in which the villainess had just disappeared when also Peter was speaking up again. "Agh Karen could you tell Mr. Stark that she got away?" Tony sent a short really? look the kid's way before Karen actually did as she was told. His look of disbelieving changed into slight annoyance.

"Hey kid, shouldn't it be my part to tell you there's no Easter Bunny and no Santa Clause either?" Well, that had sounded quite wrong, or rather quite disturbing as usually parents were explaining the facts of life to their children. Not that he ever would have experienced this kind of thing himself - well, that was not the point.

Without awaiting an answer to his latest quip, Tony turned towards the girl who was still part of this. Hadn't he told her to go back home?

"Maybe she had another target as the market and wanted to be sure that we couldn’t disturb her plan. And I think the police will soon arrive to pick up these bad boys.""So we got some time left for a little conversation, right?! Em, do you remember my question? The lightsaber?"

A quiet sigh escaped him. Okay, correction to his former mental statement - this was neither the time for a selfie with Spiderboy nor for an interview with someone thinking to have gotten a VIP pass. But Tony had a heart, especially for people who loved him. "Do you think we could try to build one together, Mr. Stark?"

Completely ignoring what she was saying, he finally replied in a hastened manner. "Okay, what's your name?", Tony asked while at the same time grabbing at one of the birthday cards laying around this havocked place and already started signing it with Iron Man.

[Anduin]

"Okay, what's your name?", Mr. Stark asked her.
The albino girl stared at him incredulously.
Did he even listen to her?
Who cared for her name when he could talk about creating lightsabers?!
However she gave him her name.
"Win… Aargh! I mean call me Icequeen, please!"
Phew, that was very close!
She almost told him her real name.
And not only him - Spiderman still stood beside them. (She realized that she didn’t know Spiderman’s real identity as well at this moment.)
Suddenly his attention went back to Tony Stark. He had grabbed a card which was laying on the floor and handed it now over to her. 
         From Iron Man with love to Icequeen – it was nice to rescue you
What? Really?!
"Uhm, Mr. Stark?... I… What about…"
Suddenly she was interrupted by the sound of the police’s horn.
You didn’t have to be a sophisticated individual to notice the girl’s disappointment.

Sirens were going off. Blue and red lights would soon be flashing around the area of the Mobil Mart.

"Sounds like they are playing our queue to leave."

Peter looked around at the destruction of the Mobil Mart wondering what the crazy rabbit woman was after, she seemed a bit high tech for such a low key job. Although since the Battle of New York everything seemed that way.

"Mr. Stark should we take a swing around the city and see if we can find any trace of her?"

"Win… Aargh! I mean call me Icequeen, please!"

"Hm-m.", was everything coming from Tony before he hurried to get this card written. No one should say he wouldn't make time for fans. What would he be without them? Well, he'd still be the great Iron Man, but...

"Uhm, Mr. Stark?... I… What about…"

"Sorry, but we don't have time for a selfie right now.", Tony fobbed her off once again before turning into the direction the sirens were coming from.

"Sounds like they are playing our queue to leave.""Mr. Stark should we take a swing around the city and see if we can find any trace of her?"

"Would it make any difference if I said no?", he made them wonder. "So, knock yourself out, kids. But for now, you better buzz off." And with these words Tony flipped the Iron Man helmet shut, ready to leave himself. "Good night. And don't let the space bugs bite."

And off he flew.
