4 stars from me! Almost hit the 5 but trying to restrain myself for The Constant level eps!
Give me a moment while I wipe away my tears AGAIN! Geez, I don't think any show has ever touched me so emotionally as this one has. I've lost count of how many times I've cried both happy and sad tears. This one was sad tears.
They tricked us, showing flashbacks with Jin (they gave hints with several shots of Jin's old, big phone and with mentioning that it was the year of the dragon which Sun's time isn't) but it's not something I picked up on until a rewatch after other fans had pointed them out.
I so love Sun and Jin. One of my favorite couples. Amazing how I've gone from despising Jin to crying along with Sun at his grave.
I agree with you about how Jin handled the knowledge of Sun's affair. That was the most heartfelt speech and the most selfless way I've ever seen anyone handle such news. It just made me love them even more.
We actually weren't sure yet if the Oceanic 6 were complete. We didn't know if Aaron counted as one of them as he wasn't actually a passenger. He was born after the crash. Now we know that Aaron did count and now we found out that the 6th one was Sun.
I totally agree that Juliet exposing the affair was so wrong. However, with her apology and explanation to Sun later, I totally understood. As a doctor, it's her job to do everything she can for the wellbeing of her patient. Sun needs to get off that island. Whether the people on the freighter are good or bad doesn't matter. If she stays on the island, she and the baby are dead. If she goes to the freighter, she has a chance and once there, can work on the situation of getting them safely off the freighter and away from Charles' people.
Also agree, the Jin/Bernard scene was great! Rose and Bernard are great practically every time they show up. I'm glad that Jin had someone to talk to. I think it's what helped him come around and forgive Sun so gracefully.
YES!! Michael!! I also hadn't expected that! He was actually trying to avoid going closer, saying he had to be on deck but the doctor wouldn't take no for an answer. There's nothing wrong with Michael's memory. The reason why he's been hiding from Sayid is because he can't risk blowing his cover. The freighter people know about Oceanic Flight 815. Charles Widmore knows about it, too. He couldn't go by Michael Dawson or they'd wonder how and why one of the Flight 815 people was off the island. I'm sure Charles would have taken him hostage and interrogated him for info on the island. So he's pretending to be some dude named Kevin Johnson.
Sayid is brilliant though and didn't give it away at all. Desmond, however, never met Michael so there's no worry about him giving away Michael's real identity.
So now we know who Ben's guy on the inside is! I wonder how the hell he convinced Michael to work for him? Hell, what am I saying. This is Ben we're talking about. He could talk an Eskimo into buying ice. It was so exciting to see him again. Then the memories start coming back of how he shot Libby and Ana Lucia in cold blood, then led several of the survivors into a trap, exchanging them for his and Walt's freedom. Maybe Ben took advantage of Michael having a guilty conscious?
That woman that jumped into the water... that was freaky. The island seems to have this protective barrier that messes with people's minds. I think that's why Daniel really stressed taking an specific baring. It's like there's this very few secret ways to safely get to and from the island. If you go off course, the electromagnetic fields and whatever else is going on messes with your brain chemistry. Hence your mental time jumping and aneurisms and rapid heightened cabin fever.
Fun easter egg... when Sun is packing up her bag, she goes to turn the TV off. The TV is playing the episode of Expose that we saw Nikki filming in the Expose episode.
I'm so glad that you appear to be loving the show almost as much as I do!!
So glad to share the love of this masterpiece! I also can't wait to watch more!
