4 stars from me! Tending to give 5, but then I would have to give every episode 5, lol! This was a great episode! I remember to once have stated that I didn't like Sayid at the beginning of the show... I seriously couldn't say anything like that nowadays! He has raised up on my list of favorite characters since he started to assassinate people for Ben. XD He just has this dark spark inside of him without being bad. I like that a lot! I gotta say it again. Sawyer is a great leader! The decisions he had made, despite the difficult situation, weren't easy but just like he said to Jack before... he spends time with thinking before acting. Go, Sawyer, go! All Sayid/Ben scenes were so great, with adult Ben and with young Ben! Also, the boy looks a lot like Michael Emerson! XD But the ending! O.O I actually was in the belief that Sayid saw the "rescue" of the boy to be his task for having come back to the island instead of his death. Makes sense though, but I saw that Sayid was feeling somewhat sorry for how the father treated young Ben. Anyways, great writing in this episode! Can't wait to see more and learn about what will happen to Ben. You mustn't die!!

4 very strong stars!
That ending! I remember when it first aired and how everyone was just gasping in surprise! So many discussions on if young Ben was dead or not and if so, how does this affect time? The future? The past of the survivors who are from the future? Lol, fun time stuff!
Ben's dad was even more awful than we thought. There was almost a kind of understanding on Sayid's face for how this little boy would end up to be the manipulative self serving man he becomes. In the end, Sayid struggled with what he felt he was there to do but did it. I'm so curious, though, if older Ben knows about all this stuff that happened or if his past is changing and suddenly he's got these memories he didn't have before? Or is the interference of the survivors creating a whole other timeline? So many wibbly wobbly timey wimey questions!
Dude. Ben is a piece of work. When he finds Sayid in Dominic Republic and just bold faced lies right to him. Telling him about Locke and saying he things Locke might have been murdered. Well, yah. You murdered him. Just wow. He's using the horrible thing he did to manipulate Sayid into doing what he wants him to do. Ben is all kinds of scary! No wonder you love him, Ilona. XD
It was just so great to see those parallels; older Ben using his murder of Locke to weave a lie to get Sayid to do what he wants... then young Ben, so desperate to get out of Dharmaville and to join the others, being kind and bringing Sayid sandwiches.
The scene where Sayid was drugged and being questioned was intense! Wondering what he'd say, if he'd give Sawyer and the rest of them away. Lol, what he said was total truth but hearing it through the ears of the DI guys made it sound like the ramblings of a crazy person.
Favorite quotes/moments:
SAWYER: How you doin'? SAYID: A twelve-year-old Ben Linus brought me a chicken salad sandwich. How do you think I'm doing?
