"It really is. Not one rollercoaster in sight," Sarah rolled her eyes but ended it with a smile.
"Ha ha," She stuck her tongue out for good measure.
"So Bennett, do you recognize this god?" Sarah scooted closer to take a look at it, she recognized the god but couldn't remember the name.
"Hmm, I was never much of a history buff to tell ya the truth, Arzt is a teacher of sorts, isn't he? Perhaps he would know?" Oh yeah, that guy did seem to know a lot.

Rose Nadler - tempplay by Kristi Lynne - "You shouldn't give up, nothing wrong with having a little faith. We have no idea who else survived, the plane landed in so many directions. I'd like to imagine he'll come out of the jungle someday, back to you.""That is what helps me sleep at night," Rose agreed, "Not that I sleep very much." There seemed to be something different about this island, something that helped her believe in what to most people would be a miracle. She felt different since the crash. Obviously, there was no way to prove it but she felt lighter, not weighed down by her sickness. Which prompted her to stay positive even in the face of all their problems. "Why don't you tell me about your boyfriend?" Rose offered. "Unless you'd rather not. Did you ever sing to him with that hairbrush microphone?"

"That is what helps me sleep at night, Not that I sleep very much." Jasmine didn't sleep much either, she could still see his body. It was traumatic and she was still mourning him, still hurting and she didn't know how to get over it. "Why don't you tell me about your boyfriend? Unless you'd rather not. Did you ever sing to him with that hairbrush microphone?" Jasmine smiled. "Jordan is- was my best friend and manager. He's the one who saw the good in me and pushed me to be the best I could be. He kept pushing for another tour but I told him no, I needed some time off." Jasmine blushed a little, she did sing to him. She sang to him all the time- some songs were a little more private. "All the time," She stared off. [ Flashback] "Um... sorry." Jasmine shook her head, "Just remembering him." Taking a breath she turned to Rose, "You might think I'm crazy but I've been seeing him everywhere I go. He talks to me, I feel like I'm going crazy."

Grief piled on top of trauma affected everyone differently. "At least, no crazier than everything else that's happened around here. Sounds like you just have some unfinished business, some things you still need to tell him."

"Oh, I don't think you're going crazy, dear, At least, no crazier than everything else that's happened around here. Sounds like you just have some unfinished business, some things you still need to tell him." She had so much to say to Jordan, so much she never got a chance to say.
"I threatened physical harm, broke up with him, told him to drop dead. Not exactly in that order..." Jasmine ran her fingers through her hair, "I was horrible to him and he still loved me, despite everything and I don't know how! I was such a fake to everyone, I took everything for granted. My family, my fans, him..." Jasmine was trying not to cry but things were crashing down around her, "I'm sorry, you shouldn't have to deal with my mental breakdown."

Everyone had tried to deal with the situation in their own way; some just took a little longer to get to that final acceptance step. "I'm not gonna' sit here and tell you everything'll be okay. None of us can know that for sure. But I think we've all been given a second chance. To get right with the world, with ourselves, and our pasts if need be. Jasmine knew that Rose was right, nothing was certain but this situation gave them a new chance. If rescue came she knew things would change and she had everyone here to thank.
"Thank you," Jasmine leaned against her for a second before giving her a little squeeze. "You're a good person."

She retracted her arm from Jasmine's shoulders and began to get to her feet. "Now, if you want, we can keep working on that laundry you and the flight attendant were setting up. We got a nice ocean breeze going. Unless you're too rich and famous to wash clothes....?" Rose offered. Not in an insulting way, more like a challenge to get the girl's head focused on something other than her grief.

"Hmm, I was never much of a history buff to tell ya the truth," "Arzt is a teacher of sorts, isn't he? Perhaps he would know?"
I wrinkled my nose at the thought of approaching the arrogant, obnoxious science teacher unless absolutely necessary. A sketch of a half human, half hippo just wasn't worth being talked down to. Maybe some day I would, if I got really, really bored. And after I'd asked every other person possible first.
"Eh. He might make me write, like, a twenty leaf essay after," I joked with a grin before looking to my other companion. "What about you, Sarah? That mind of yours is always surprising me." I reached over and brushed a few specks of sand from her short blonde hair. "Are you secretly an Egyptian history buff?"

"These hands are already in rough shape but I guess I can humble myself a bit more." Jasmine stood and dusted herself off, "Let's go check on the wash."

Maybe Rose needed the same thing right about now. She walked over to the part of the treeline where they'd set up a sort of washtub and a clothesline between palm trees. "Been a long time since I hung laundry out on a line to dry," Rose remarked, gathering an armful of dark-colored clothing to drop into the water. "Guess we all gotta' improvise now."

*** Linda enters from Jungle Outskirts ***
Linda halted in her tracks as she reached the end of the trees and hit the sand of the beach camp. Having already begun to spread the word and recruit some people at the caves, she had arrived at her final destination as she scanned the beach and began to quickly form a plan of action as to who to tell first to allow the news to spread like wildfire. Linda's gaze froze suddenly as she caught the familiar shaggy blond head from the corner of her eye as she spotted Charlie in the distance. She wasn't sure why she was feeling hesitant to approach him. Perhaps it was the lingering awkward feeling that they hadn't talked much since the cave in fiasco. Or maybe she didn't want to seem like a bother or in the way, as he appeared to be more tied up than usual helping out Claire. Whatever the cause might have been, Linda let out an audible exhale as she let go of the anxiety that had been lingering in the pit of her stomach and strolled up to her brother.

It was still hot. How could it possibly still be this hot? Charlie plodded through the deep warm sand, grumbling under his breath as he felt it fill his shoes. They'd only moved to the caves recently and it had still been long enough for him to forget how irritating the sand was. Brighton had never been like this. What he wouldn't give to be on Brighton pier, newspaper cone of chips in one hand and a 99 in the other. Instead, sand now owned his shoes and he was stuck on the never ending horror show that was this island.
Still, it wasn't all bad. As haunted islands went he assumed this must be one of the better ones. Despite cave ins, rabid polar bears, dinosaurs that attacked plane cabins and ripped up trees, skeletons, the crazy Korean guy that apparently just attacked people out of nowhere, drug withdrawal and the spooky French woman on the radio; things really weren't that bad. He'd convinced Claire to move to the safety of the cave, he had his guitar back and things were starting to look up.
As he stomped across the beach, far away enough from the water to avoid getting his feet wet but close enough now that the sand felt more solid, he could see several people at the beach camp talking. They seemed to be getting on with things like laundry and sand castles. All the important stuff. Charlie smiled. It was nice to find pockets of normality amidst all the bloody nonsense going on. He shielded his eyes from the sun, wondering how much longer his pasty skin was going to avoid sunburn, as he walked towards them to try and spot who was there. Sarah was a few feet shorter than everyone else there and was easy to spot. There was that Bennett guy too with Heidi and...
Linda walked out onto the beech. Charlie paused and stopped where he was. It wasn't that he didn't want to talk to his younger sister but...he never knew what to say. He still felt guilty. If she hadn't felt sorry for her waste of space older brother, she wouldn't have been on that plane. He absentmindedly fidgeted with the tape around his fingers spelling out FATE. They were stuck on an island together. It wasn't as if he could avoid her until they got rescued in a few days. He was still making his mind up when he saw that Linda had seen him. Bollocks. She was coming this way. BOLLOCKS. He looked around instinctively for some prop to help with conversation. Nearby a crab was scuttling over a glass jar that was half full of sea water, partly submerged in the sand. Charlie plucked it up and tried to shake off the crab, turning to Linda as she reached him.
"Linda! Fancy seeing you here! What're the chances hey?"
Charlie paused. He'd spoken far too loudly and far too fast. Plus, now he was holding a sandy glass jar with sea water inside and a crab hanging on to the rim for dear life.
"This jar...I'm using this jar...because we've got no peanut butter...so...how's you?"
Bollocks.

"Linda! Fancy seeing you here! What're the chances hey?"
As Linda approached Charlie, a wave of relief overcame her as she was thankful that she hadn't been the one to initiate their little reunion. Time had surely passed since Linda had braved the trek down to the beach camp, minor changes had been visibly made throughout but one thing that would most likely always remain was the blaring sunlight bouncing off of the ocean and the piping hot sand that made it's way between the thongs of her flip flops. Charlie's normal display of energy allowed Linda's tense shoulders to relax slightly down her back as she settled into her place in front of him. He seemed to be his usual, upbeat self with not a whole lot out of place. Though, Linda couldn't quite tell if that was a good or bad thing just yet. She was still relearning everything about her once estranged brother, so much that she often wondered if following him across the pond had been a big mistake. Nonetheless, a force powerful beyond their comprehension had brought them here, together. Days had passed since the traumatic experience of crash landing onto the island, and Linda's fear of what could possibly happen next began to morph into simply rolling with whatever came her way.
"This jar...I'm using this jar...because we've got no peanut butter...so...how's you?"
Linda's gaze shifted from Charlie's jittery expression, to the crustacean inhabited jar in a sporadic moment of puzzlement and then back to Charlie again. His statement made no sort of sense whatsoever, but she didn't begin to verbally question the jar and saw it for what it was. He was trying, and that was better than being brushed off like an annoyance. Yet, there was still much that was unspoken between them and Linda was aware that wounds take time to heal, but she couldn't help but to feel that Charlie had been avoiding her. Had she perhaps been avoiding him too?
"Um, keeping busy, you know, just living the dream," Burying her hands into the pockets of her shorts, Linda tried to find her words as she responded to Charlie's check-in. If she was completely honest, she was doing absolutely terrible but distracted enough to not completely lose her mind. There were moments throughout the day where she would be caught off guard by the slight rumble of what sounded to be rocks falling, or a flicker of a darkened shadow among the thick of the forest that sent a chill straight through her spine. Yet, keeping her hands busy allowed her to bury those intense, traumatic sensations within. The last thing she wanted to do was bother anyone with her feelings.
The side grin that had shown itself through the halfhearted chuckle at her own remark began to dissolve as her lips pursed together in slight distress. Her heartbeat began to elevate within her chest as she stuttered in hesitation, "Are...are we okay?" Linda asked Charlie rather anxiously. Her gaze appeared apologetic for even bothering Charlie with a question that felt so petty in times like this. However, the gaps within each day without them speaking to one another began to grow, Linda couldn't help but to feel he was drifting away from her. Both of them had undergone some severely horrific experiences within the last couple of days, and processing traumatic events took time. Though, Linda was having no picnic processing hers alone without her brother.

"Um, keeping busy, you know, just living the dream,"
Charlie forced a grin onto his face and nodded with Linda. Yea, living the dream... Linda's hands seemed to flee into her pockets. It was an instinctive move that all the Pace siblings did when nervous. Charlie's pockets would probably be full too if not for the ridiculous jar.
"Are...are we okay?"
Charlie was ripped away from his thoughts by his sister's quiet stuttering. She seemed uncomfortable. He could relate. Despite having spent more of the past 10 years away from Linda than with her, he still had some innate brotherly pull deep in his gut when he saw her upset. He didn't know how he felt about being around her again so very often but at the end of the day, he was her older brother and they were stuck on Gilligan's nightmare island together. He'd probably been spending too much time with Claire and not enough with his sister. But Linda wasn't heavily pregnant! Plus, Charlie had seen how Boone and Shannon were together. He and Linda may have a distant, strained relationship but at least they weren't...that. Charlie threw on an even bigger grin, chucking the jar over his shoulder in some vain attempt at a flourish.
"Of course we're alright O' sister of mine. We have enough sunshine to burn the skin off any British forehead, rock hard coconuts falling from trees every now and then that'll do your skull right in and I even heard a rumour from Frogurt that he saw a shark. We're living the dream indeed".
His overexcited, slightly inane response had teetered on the side of being an unhinged rant. A few people by the beach camp were looking over at them. Bollocks. Bit much. Damage control required.
"I'm kidding. Yes. We're...fine. I just wish...I just...I'm very tired of being the sibling that the other ones have to worry about. I'm bored of being pitied Linda. Liam was worse. Every time he looked at me it was like he wanted to chuck me a quid and tell me to buy myself a hot chocolate. I'm a blooming rock god for christ sakes."
Charlie kicked some sand as if to add some pizzazz to his outburst, immediately regretting saying the words 'rock god'.

Every time he looked at me it was like he wanted to chuck me a quid and tell me to buy myself a hot chocolate. I'm a blooming rock god for christ sakes."
Linda's anxiety began to dissolve as adrenaline kicked in, allowing her to keep her composure neutral as she put her own feelings aside for once and listened to Charlie with the upmost intent that he truly deserved. He appeared to have climbed aboard the rant express, but Linda knew he had every right to go off. From the moment they were children playing at the park and going for summer swims, Linda had always known Charlie to be the type to always want to help and make things better for everyone around him. Especially for his own flesh and blood. She knew that others took advantage of that goodness in Charlie's heart and set him up for failure, Liam was especially guilty of this ultimate betrayal. There wasn't a bone in Linda's body that would ever dare to do Charlie dirty like Liam had done on multiple accounts when he was a complete mess. Yet, Linda knew that she had to stop moping around and dragging him down with doubts because of blips from the past. That's all they were now, blips that arrived and then left to fade off into the far corners of their memories. She had to let the old past die and take advantage of their clean slate.
"You're right," Staring at the spot in the sand where Charlie had scuffed the ground out of frustration, Linda spoke admittedly with ease as she knew exactly what Charlie was addressing. She completely bypassed the rock god comment as it wasn't the first time she had heard Charlie call himself that and it probably wouldn't be the last , "It's not fair to you when everytime you see your sister, that she looks at you like a sad puppy. We need to be able to trust each other, so I'll start the trust train by promising from here on out - no more pity parties," Looking up at Charlie with eyes filled with assurance, she waved a palm over the top of her other hand in a 'no' motion before allowing her hands to fall back into their place on each side of her torso, "Though, at the mention of it, now I'm really starting to miss hot chocolate...," She stared at Charlie for a spare moment before the corners of her pursed frown began to slowly creep upwards into a cheeky smile - a smile that hadn't been displayed between the siblings in the longest time until now.

"You're right."
Charlie's eyebrows raised. He hadn't been expecting that. In all honesty he hadn't been sure what to expect but at least some push back. If this had been Liam he'd have expected a punch to the jaw after saying something like that. Although maybe not nowadays. Liam had changed a fair bit since Drive Shaft tour days.
"It's not fair to you when everytime you see your sister, that she looks at you like a sad puppy. We need to be able to trust each other, so I'll start the trust train by promising from here on out - no more pity parties. Though, at the mention of it, now I'm really starting to miss hot chocolate...,"
Linda grinned at Charlie. It was a grin that lifted what felt like a solid ton from his shoulders. A wave of relief hit him. It felt like Charlie had a sister again for the first time in...well probably since childhood. Charlie beamed.
"God, what I wouldn't give for a hot chocolate. Or a Mars bar. OR A DEEP FRIED MARS BAR."
Charlie grabbed hold of Linda's shoulders and playfully shook her whilst wailing into the sky.
"MY KINGDOM FOR A DEEP FRIED MARS BAR!"
People in the beach camp were now FOR SURE looking over at what all the noise was. Charlie didn't care.

"God, what I wouldn't give for a hot chocolate. Or a Mars bar. OR A DEEP FRIED MARS BAR."
"MY KINGDOM FOR A DEEP FRIED MARS BAR!"
Something as ordinary as a deep fried Mars bar was now a rare delicacy that Linda could only dream of having again. Clogged arteries that could send someone straight to heaven - yes please! The closest thing they had now in their dire circumstance to any sort of indulgence was mountains of fresh fruit sliced up by the island's own Orange Peel Locke. That's how Linda referred to their knife wielding hunter anyways, after she spotted him about the beach cheering others up with bright eyes and orange peel smiles.
Being playfully shaken over their love for the things they missed, Linda broke out into a laughing fit of bliss as the dark clouds that had plagued her and Charlie since before they even crash landed rolled away, revealing a ninety-five percent chance blue skies in the forecast between her and Charlie for the rest of the day. She didn't know how long it would truly last, and of course storms and rumbles of thunder would be expected in the near future. There was still a level of trust and respect that needed to be continuously built upon, especially on Linda's part. But for now, she didn't want to fight or think about what could have been. What they do now with the time that they have together mattered most, and holding onto that mindset allowed her to begin to open up to her brother again for the first time in ages.
"Alright, alright, I'm all for selling our souls to the chocolate gods, but first," Linda pulled herself together as she managed to catch her breath, her stomach nearly aching from the good laugh she just had , "We need a getaway from all this island surviving doom and gloom. Hurley spent all day building a golf course for everyone, and I don't know about you but I could sure as hell use a moment or two to just forget about everything for a chance at fun," Peering up at Charlie with a childlike twinkle in her eye at the mention of fun, Linda shrugged her shoulders mid suggestion. From the Polar Bears to the mysterious monsters snapping trees in half, they could all use a distraction from whatever impending fate awaited for them at the end of all this. And perhaps spending some time together among the rest of the group wouldn't hurt, either, "What do ya say? First sibling to get a hole in one get's the real jar of peanut butter? Found one in the food trolley from the plane. Was gonna keep it to myself but it could be anyone's game...," Linda suggested playfully as she began to lead Charlie down the beach to invite the other survivors along with them.

Sawyer had left his shelter a while ago already, as he'd had enough of just laying around and doing nothing. His arm still hurt, yet it had gotten a lot better ever since he'd dropped that medication Sarah had given to him. Too lazy to read over the package printing, Sawyer had just trusted in the little knowledge he had about names of medications. What was the worst that could happen anyway? If it made him kick the bucket, it would be the doc crying over it - only to pity himself for not having been able to fix him, of course. Man, that dude was, even more, a mess than he was, Sawyer thought with a joyless chuckle.
His eyes were wandering over at the two siblings, who seemed to earn some attention due to Charlie's way of speaking. Sawyer wasn't able to hear any words from where he stood, however, he couldn't care less anyway. The only thing about it that could slightly interest him was getting a chance for another joke at somebody else's cost.
"Looks like Hansel and Gretel get along swimmingly for once.", he said to someone, never even caring who it was standing nearby, but primarily to himself. Joking about other people's relationships helped to cover any thought of thinking about his own - which were none to speak of unless making out with Kate, as part of a deal, was counting. Damn, that kiss really had been something, though. A satisfied grin flashed over Sawyer's features as he recalled it.

Hurley spent all day building a golf course for everyone, and I don't know about you but I could sure as hell use a moment or two to just forget about everything for a chance at fun,"
Linda flashed Charlie a smile that brought with it a wave of memories. He could see his sister's face grinning up at him as he balanced on the kitchen counter, reaching for the jar of wine gums their dad always kept on the top shelf. He could see her laughing with wild glee as he sat on her bike handlebars whilst she peddled them hard down the steep hill by their old New Malden flat. With the longing to return to those simpler days, Charlie also felt the pang to have some fun. Relax. Why the hell not? May as well fill their time on this rock with some fun inbetween the tropical XFiles madness.
"What do ya say? First sibling to get a hole in one get's the real jar of peanut butter? Found one in the food trolley from the plane. Was gonna keep it to myself but it could be anyone's game...,"
Linda started to head down the beach towards the camp. Charlie's jaw dropped before he jogged along after her.
"Actual peanut butter?? Do you know how long I was looking for some before me and Claire had to mime it? Is it smooth or crunchie? No, you know what it doesn't matter. You're looking at 12th place of the UK South East crazy golf tournament. And remind me, where did you place again? Starts with a T and rhymes with Mirty More?"
His grin widened as he kept jogging, now overtaking her.
"Come on then. Point me to the 18 holes than stand between me and some peanut buttery goodness!"

"Come on then. Point me to the 18 holes than stand between me and some peanut buttery goodness!"
"Patience, Tiger Woods, let's round us up some hearty competition shall we?" Linda couldn't help but to crack up with a wide grin as Charlie bounced alongside her down the beach, buzzing in utter excitement. The change in atmosphere between them was like a breath of fresh air after breathing in unnecessary toxic waste that they endured at each other's own faults and mistakes for so long. They were only human, and they were learning. Linda could only hope that this was the beginning of their tables turning as signs showed that it was possible for them to move from co-existing to having the relationship they were meant to have, no matter what had happened or what was said before.
Their feet lightly kicked up the sand beneath their soles as they trucked through the camp. Linda scanned the beach to see just who they could round up and bring back to the golf course with them. There was Jinx and Rose who appeared to be invested in a heart to heart conversation too knit together to be interrupted. Linda's gaze caught Sawyer's tent - but she was pretty certain she recalled Hurley mention that his invite was revoked. Then, Linda's eyes narrowed in on a rather alarming sight. Heidi and little Sarah were spotted conversing with Bennett, the sketchy Canadian cousin of Ethan. She wasn't entirely sure why but whenever she encountered or saw him lurking around the camp, a silent pang of dread would enter her system and would remain until he was out of sight and mind. And she needed to get Heidi and Sarah away from him.
"That Bennett guy gives me the heebie-jeebies," Linda had stopped suddenly next to Charlie as her uneasy gaze narrowed in on the vulture salivating over his prey, "I don't know why, but I don't like the way he lurks around like he's up to something. And i definitely don't like him being around Heidi - and especially Little Sarah...," Come to think of it, Linda didn't even remember him or Ethan being on the plane. Yet, she felt that was a little too far fetched. Of course he was on the plane, how else would he be here? Linda suddenly pressed forward with a cause, she didn't say a word about her motive but she figured Charlie read her mind with how she felt about their island creeper.
"Hey girls, Bennett...," Linda greeted Heidi and Sarah cheerfully, her demeanor falling cold in the direction of Bennett, before addressing Heidi once more with delight, "What's going on? Did we pull a funny and steal Sawyer's secret diary?" Linda poked as she playfully inquired about what Heidi was holding in her hands.

Sawyer's face seemed to even darken at the sight of the two siblings getting along for once, as he put it himself. It wasn't something that he was aware of, but rather silent waves of displeasure that made their way up to the surface, every now and then. It could be easy to be liked, but it was almost easier to not - like this was a state he had worked towards throughout his life. He had become the man he created. At some point, there would be no turning back, even if he tried. That was, at least, what Sawyer was thinking - if he would allow himself actually thinking it through, that was.
His displeased gaze followed them only as long until they had disappeared from his eyesight. Then Sawyer turned to his side to make another comment to the bystander, realizing that there was none. He could have sworn somebody had been standing close to him. Well, must be the medication. Where the hell was that damn doc, by the way?

"Hey girls, Bennett...," "What's going on? Did we pull a funny and steal Sawyer's secret diary?"
The talk about Egyptians and knowledge of history came to a halt with the interruption coming from the Pace siblings. One of them being not too fond of Bennett himself. He wasn't so sure what he ever did to Linda for her to treat him with a cold shoulder. Yet, he couldn't help but to wonder if he was too obviously mysterious at times. Bennett would admit to a couple of slip ups here and there...outbursts, if that's what you really want to call them. Instead of taking offense to her mannerism, he gave her a silent nod before slinking behind the other two girls, allowing them to take control of the conversation.

"Are you secretly an Egyptian history buff?" Sarah chuckled, it did look familiar but she couldn't remember.
"Looks familiar but I don't remember."
"Hey girls, Bennett...," "What's going on? Did we pull a funny and steal Sawyer's secret diary?" Sarah stayed silent mostly and found herself staring off as the adults talked.

"Looks familiar but I don't remember."
"There's other--" before I could mention seeing several different language in the journal, motion in the corner of my eye had me stopping and looking up to see who was approaching.
"Hey Linda," I said, smiling at the person I'd bonded with during an unfortunate and scary situation. I transferred my look over to Charlie with a simple and friendly, "Hi". Not having really spoken to him much, I didn't know him outside of his celebrity or the little that Linda had said.
"Hey girls, Bennett...," "What's going on? Did we pull a funny and steal Sawyer's secret diary?"
Puzzled at Linda's demeanor toward Bennett, I looked between the two, wondering what I'd missed. "Uh, no," I began distractedly, pulling myself away from wondering to avoid adding any more awkwardness. "But wouldn't that be an interesting read?" I said with an exaggerated eyeroll, hoping to lighten the mood. I closed the cover of the ancient journal and angled it toward Linda. "This was one of the things in that sack we found. You know, from that one time you and I were trapped in a smuggler's hold together?" I joked lightly as if such a thing were a common occurrence.
The reminder had my mind wandering back to the fact that Bennett had been part of the search party that had found us and helped us out of that hole. I felt indebted to him, but something happened since to make Linda feel differently. Again, I had to pull myself away from wondering. "We were just checking it out. What've you guys been up to?" I asked, eying Linda and Charlie because it certainly felt as if they were up to something.

"Patience, Tiger Woods, let's round us up some hearty competition shall we?" Linda gave Charlie a smile. It was nice to see his sister happy. It was like the sun shone brighter. They trudged their way across the sandy beach towards the camp. Charlie looked up to the mostly cloudless sky. A couple of gulls hovered over the camp, clearly hoping to fly in and catch some unattended food. They cawed out to each other. With the noises of the birds, the breeze drifting through the leaves of the trees and the sea softly brushing the sand; it really did feel like paradise. He was still glad they'd moved to the caves but he made a mental note to ensure they kept up regular visits to the beach.
"That Bennett guy gives me the heebie-jeebies."
Linda's sudden matter of fact statement caught Charlie by surprise. He followed her glare to the camp where Heidi and Sarah were talking to Bennett. There was a certain tone to her voice that was unusually cold.
"I don't know why, but I don't like the way he lurks around like he's up to something. And I definitely don't like him being around Heidi - and especially Little Sarah..."
Charlie paused for a moment. In all honesty he hadn't had a great deal of interaction with Bennett other than a casual good morning or passing comment about the weather. He sensed Linda's dislike of him and nodded in an almost subconscious sibling agreement. They walked into the campsite and caught the attention of those there. "Hey girls, Bennett..."
Linda greeted the group with Charlie right behind her. He gave them all a grin and a casual wave. Heidi smiled back.
"Hi Linda. Hi."
The second hi was directed to Charlie.
"Alright mate."
Charlie said back to her. Heidi was another one on the island he hadn't spent much time with. It was dawning on him that the vast majority of his time on the island had been spent with Claire. He didn't regret any second he'd spent with her but maybe it was about time to get to know some of the others more. Linda approached Heidi directly.
"What's going on? Did we pull a funny and steal Sawyer's secret diary?"
Charlie's attention was very much consumed. Sawyer's secret diary?? Charlie prayed it was true.
"Uh, no but wouldn't that be an interesting read? This was one of the things in that sack we found. You know, from that one time you and I were trapped in a smuggler's hold together?"
Charlie made a mental note to check with Linda what the reference to smuggler's hold meant at some point in the future.
"We were just checking it out. What've you guys been up to?"
Charlie's smile returned as Heidi asked the question. He stood behind his sister, holding onto her shoulders and popping his head over.
"It's a truly momentous day Heidi. We have heard that FINALLY true civilisation has been brought to this poxy little island. We have ourselves the ultimate test. The challenge of champions. To the victor the peanut butter spoils!"
Charlie's arms flew up into the air in mid-proclomation.
"IT'S A GOLF COURSE PEOPLE!!!! Anyone that wishes to prove themselves amongst the pantheon of heroes then put on your best Nick Faldo hat and join us on our journey."
Charlie gave Sarah a wink of encouragement and looked to his sister, ready to take her lead.

"IT'S A GOLF COURSE PEOPLE!!!! Anyone that wishes to prove themselves amongst the pantheon of heroes then put on your best Nick Faldo hat and join us on our journey."
Linda took to the sidelines momentarily as Charlie expressed his infectious excitement to the group. She looked at her brother with a beaming grin, as she appreciated that he fully believed in her efforts to at least try to round up a good group of competitors. Once Charlie looked to Linda as to pass the mic back over to her, she took a step back forward into the conversation at hand with anticipation of whether or not they would be interested.
"Crashing on this island, dealing with polar bears and mysterious jungle monsters has taken it's toll on all of us. Maybe for just one moment, just maybe we can forget about our dismal circumstance and, I don't know, do something fun for once," Linda got real with the fellow castaways before her and Charlie for a moment. Regardless of who they all were and where they came from, they all had at least one thing in common. They were sharing this tragic, unique experience together. Having each other's backs in hopes that things did not pan out like Lord Of The Flies was one of the few things left they had to hold on to.
"So?" Linda's excited eyes glittered as bright as the sparking ocean waves that surrounded them as she looked to Charlie, then back at the rest of the group, "What do you say?"

Bennett listened to the two British siblings ramble on. They were excited and wanting a distraction from the horror that they had all been facing the past thirteen days of being stranded on an island. Internally, Bennett thought that playing golf was going to be a waste of his time. He needed to get close to little Sarah, not horse around while Ben Linus and Ethan are on his tail with high expectations. Yet, he knew he needed to adjust his reputation that he had nearly tarnished. He needed to continue to blend in.
"So?" "What do you say?"
Bennett looked over to Heidi with a shrug, "I'm game. What about you, Heidi? Sarah?" Bennett inquired as he left the final decision up to the ladies.

"It's a truly momentous day Heidi. We have heard that FINALLY true civilisation has been brought to this poxy little island. We have ourselves the ultimate test. The challenge of champions. To the victor the peanut butter spoils!"
So animated and full of energy, Charlie's enthusiasm was contagious even though I had no idea what it was I was supposed to be excited for yet. I was beaming a smile, almost laughing at the way he carried on but then was thrown when he finally announced our reason to be excited.
"IT'S A GOLF COURSE PEOPLE!!!! Anyone that wishes to prove themselves amongst the pantheon of heroes then put on your best Nick Faldo hat and join us on our journey."
Still in lifted spirits, confusion mixed in. "A... golf course?" My mind started to fire off all kinds of thoughts. Did they actually stumble across a golf course? Had this island once been inhabited? Or was it like that one episode of Golden Girls where they'd thought they'd been stranded on an island but it turned out there was a resort on the other side the whole time? That was just too outlandish of an outcome to buy, especially this many days into being here.
"Crashing on this island, dealing with polar bears and mysterious jungle monsters has taken it's toll on all of us. Maybe for just one moment, just maybe we can forget about our dismal circumstance and, I don't know, do something fun for once," "So?" "What do you say?"
"I'm game. What about you, Heidi? Sarah?"
"Wait, hold up," I said, wondering why I was the only one questioning this. Unable to let go of my confusion as I gathered the wrong conclusion about the origin of the golf course, I back peddled the conversation. "You guys found a golf course on the island?" I couldn't help feeling optimistic at the news. Even though there was no way this island happened to be a vacation getaway with a resort unknowingly on the other side, it still meant that this island, at some point, had been a vacation getaway to someone. Another outlandish but more plausible thought was that perhaps there was someone stupid rich who showed up on a whim in their personal helicopter to play a round on their private island golf course.

Sawyer had been observing everyone around, bit by bit meeting up in a little crowd. He hated crowds. Especially while being stuck on an island where you couldn't go anywhere far enough. Sawyer sighed, then remembered that it was time to get his medication. Since the last house call, Jack had decided that the patient had to come to visit the doc instead. Fine by him. Sawyer, anyway, had enough of just standing there and watching Kurt acting like a monkey. Yet, he wondered what this conversation might be about. Nah, too many people. He better headed off to get his drugs.
